Flight attendants are always pleasant and helpful. Pilot kept us updated.

Pros: "The economy seats are pretty comfy considering so many other airlines, however it does make it a bit difficult to eat with a knife and fork at meal times. But the idea of a recliner seat is great! Decent in-flight entertainment."

Eyecover, toothbrush/paste, etc) on long-haul flights for other airlines. 2) Felt ripped off paying $50 for "preferred economy" seats that looked/felt identical to standard economy seats. Should be marketed as just priority boarding."

Cons: "There was only approximately 13 inches for the aisle between seat sections. It was mostly women with big wide hips who kept me awake most of the 12 hour and 34 minute flight, as they brushed my shoulder disturbing my ability to rest."
Cons: "Crew was so busy that they kept overlooking my husband and I when doing the rounds of everything, We felt like we were singled out to be ignored, even though we paid for Premium Economy. Our flight was delayed for more than an hour. Food was barely ok even though we had been on Air NZ Premium economy 4 times now, was sorely disappointed with the food provided."
Pros: "Agents went above and beyond to help. Wish I had names because I was REAL impressed at how much they helped to get our bags checked. My son had purchased my ticket and not bought luggage voucher. They helped me get online and buy voucher. Would recommend airline to anyone traveling in that part of world."

Cons: "The meal choices were chicken curry or beef on this flight. They ran out of beef quickly. Why would you serve something like curry on an airplane that’s not at all agreeable to at least half the people on the plane and then force the rest of us to eat it when you run out of the other option? My seat recliner was broken so I got to sit straight up for 12 hours."

Seems like this is a common issue with Air NZ - see e.g., skytrax website reviews. The website advertising is inaccurate if not false."

Cons: "For some unknown reason, I can not lower my seat when I wanted to get some sleep. As the air plane took off at 11:55pm, I was really sleep. After 10 minutes of maneuver, I decided to ask a flight attendant to help me figure out what happened to my seat. I pressed the button asking for attendant and waited for 5 minutes, no response. So I pressed the button again. IT showed that I had already pressed the button. So I kept waiting. But then no one ever came for me the 9 hours until it was time for the meal before getting off. Sitting straight sleeping was a really terrible experience!"

Pros: "The best service I've ever had with seamless rebooking and escorted followthrough to make my return flight. Even my luggage made it throughout the short interval layovers!"
Pros: "Air New Zealand has some of the friendliest cabin crews around. Their food is above average and they have a delicious array of wines served free with meals. My flight was interrupted by a medical emergency. We had to backtrack to the nearest airport, which added several hours to the flight. This meant a very long day for both passengers and crew. The crew remained cheerful and helpful throughout, in spite of cranky passengers."
Pros: "All flights were on time and all worked well. The booking of the flight via kayak and payment via vayama was a week long process that involved lots of calls to their customer service which couldn't help their poor website and in the process the flight price rose 3 times, so next time, I'll better book directly with Lufthansa and save some nightmares."
