Finally virgin Australia ticket agent took pity and helped me rebook for the next day. This was after I was told by air New Zealand that I had to call the booking number for virgin Australia. I’m traveling from the US and didn’t have a cell phone that worked in Australia... which I explained and asked how I could call the number without a phone. Was promptly told to go over to Virgin Australia ticket counter where I made the one remaining agent who was closing the desks help me. However the airport lost my luggage and could not find where it was. I ended up spending three hours in the airport and still no luggage with the baggage company saying they have no record of it anywhere. Very frustrating trip."

Pros: "We flew Air Canada’s Economy Plus from Vancouver to Sydney and Air New Zealand’s Economy Plus from Auckland back to Vancouver. NZ’s Economy Plus product is far and above AC’s. Everything from the welcome, to the meal, to the level of service is great. I really felt that NZ treated the Econ Plus cabin as distinct from Economy (including having 2 dedicated washrooms), whereas on AC it felt like we were merely Economy with better seats. I compare NZ and AC because we were so genuinely impressed with what we purchased. We would definitely book NZ Econ Plus again, and the January seat sale is a great time to do so!"

I felt disappointment that Air New Zealand separates parties and leaves room for uncomfortable situations. I really did not know what to do in this scenario, I paid for that seat but was in a way forced to give it a away without any refund in order to avoid 12 hours seating with some stranger's wife."

Why is it so hard for Jetstar to get boarding a plane correct? In this current environment why have everyone on the plane early to just sit on the plane while they work out where their boarding system went wrong resorting to using a hand held counter to check numbers on the plane Having everyone on the plane for longer than necessary is very annoying then when arriving at the destination it takes 1/2 for ground crew handling baggage to get the bags out again this creates issues with keeping people in confined spaces longer than necessary

I would recommend this airline if you have little or no baggage and are going on a day trip to Wellington or Auckland. Otherwise, stick with Air New Zealand."

Once we landed, we tried to go to the Qantas lounge and were denied entry and told that we needed Jetstar to call Qantas and give us access. Will NEVER fly with them again."

Once I got to the check-in counter, the line was very long and everyone seemed overworked. By the time I go tot he counter it was getting late. I tried to check in but apparently my eVisa had expired. I have been traveling to Australia countless number of times and normally they process a new visa directly at the airport. I was told by the staff that "this was not possible" and waved me away. They said there was no way to check-in. I stood by the side of the counter and quickly found my own on line service to process a visa. I was able to get my Visa in 10 minutes, and applied for it on my iPhone! My Visa came through, but only just after the cut off time for the flight check in. Despite that fact that flight had not departed, and would not for another 30 minutes or so, they simply closed up the booking counter and left me standing there... They wouldn't even give me any information on what to do or whether my flight would be canceled or credited back. This rates as one of my worst travel experiences. I went back to my hotel in Tokyo, and then decided to fly the next morning on Singapore air. I did not book on Kayak the second time. I don't think I would ever fly JetStar again."
Pros: "I was surprised how comfortable the seats were and how much legroom there was for a low cost airline to fly internationally such a long distance (Tokyo to Sydney). The crew were friendly and we did receive water and tea for free, which was a surprise. The entertainment selection was pretty good and the screens were the nicest HD screens I've seen on an international flight."
Cons: "Had to connect in Gold Coast before arriving in Sydney. I know this is normal for many international flights, but it would have been nice to have a nonstop Tokyo to Sydney. I guess that is why it is a discount airline!"
Cons: "We (I, my wife and son ) did not know our booking with no baggage. The woman asked me $100 baggage fee when we checked in. However, total weight with our three baggages is only about 30 Kg. Each baggage is accord to the carry on boarding rule. In fact, we only want to check in one baggage. But, she told me $50 per baggage. She cheat us. Buy 20 Kg baggage only need $24 in Jetstar internet."
Pros: "Best crew I've ever had on a flight."

Cons: "No grace. No food. No drink. No leg room. Seat backs that make you lean forward. Fees made flight cost more than Quantas."
Cons: "No options for check in baggage when I purchased the ticket online, so baggage cost me $260 at check-in. Agents at the desk were extremely indifferent and borderline rude, overall extremely unhelpful. Airplane interior was dingy, seat cushions were worn down and flat, extremely limited leg space (I cannot stress enough how inadequate the leg space was), no entertainment. No complimentary drinks, not even water."
