The movie selection was great. Take off, flight and landing were smooth. And we arrive half an hour early both directions!"

The flight attendants were working hard, but we're abrupt and tired. Overall, I have three stars, when in the past, flying SA was always a five star experience. It got me back home though. :)"

Pros: "What did I like??? Um, EVERYTHING! First off I got a great price under $850 round trip to NRT from LAX was a steal! They let you check two large suit cases plus a carry on and a personal item. That all FREE!!! I travel pretty light but it was great to know they don't Nickle and dime you for bags or anything else for that matter. Staff looks amazing and treats you first class even when your in economy. They are so polite and really genuinely want to give you a above and beyond experience. And they over achieve at it! They meals are great and very satisfying. The planes are big and roomy even in economy seats. On our return flight we had a brand new plane which had a sleek touch screen monitor and controller. There mad tons of media available (articles, language games, games, movies, tv shows and more) with USB ports to charge devices on each seat. Plus 10inch personal monitors. Earbuds were included free of charge, aswell as socks toothbrush and tooth paste. They have is two big meals on our direct flight (awesome that they have direct flights). Plus, they offered free snacks too and gave us a full can of soda vs. a small cup. They come through several times offering coffee, tea, water and snacks. All free of charge. This was my first time flying Singapore Airlines and I loved it!!! I wish Everyone was this amazing! Norwegian Airlines was the opposite as far as charging for everything! Had to pay each stop for any luggage ($100 per checked bag). No meals free or charge. They wanted money for everything! And yea a skimpy sandwich was $9.00 :(."

Cons: "We were supposed to fly back to Los Angeles from Tokyo on Wednesday, August 24th. We got to Tokyo Narita a little later than planned due to the Narita Express train being delayed. I had received emails that our flight had changed gates, and was then delayed, but when my sister and I went to check into our flight, we were told we were unable to board because it was too late. I thought it was absurd because the flight had not even started boarding, and I had gotten an email saying it was delayed. We tried to reason with them, but they would not let us on the flight. It was imperative that we got back to Los Angeles on Wednesday, but all our plans were ruined due to them bumping us off the flight. My sister had a connecting flight to Boston, which she then had to reschedule and was charged for. We were stuck another night in Tokyo, where we had to spend money on a hotel. The Singapore Airlines attendants eventually informed us that we could get on a flight the next day. This delayed us by 24 hours, which was highly inconvenient. It was also especially unnecessary since due to the flight being delayed, we would have absolutely been able to make it. I do not appreciate being bumped off of a flight due to airlines wanting to make more money, especially being stuck overseas. Its not like it was a domestic flight where we could just hop on another one in the next few hours, this totally derailed all of our plans. I do not appreciate the inflexibility of the Singapore Airlines agents, and this is not an experience that makes me want to recommend flying with Singapore Airlines. I appreciate that they did not charge us, however it was a major inconvenience that could have simply been avoided by better customer service and understanding."

I really hesitate to even call a flight attendant whenever I fly, so I'm not high maintenance. Incident 1: The flight from DPS to Singapore the flight attendant scoffed when I asked for socks saying that economy passenger don't receive socks on this flight. I didn't appreciate the suggestion that my class wasn't worthy of meeting my request. Her response felt condescending. Her continued interaction with me consistently felt short and mildly irritated with me. I didn't understand why. Honestly, I won't fly Singapore again because of this. Flights are not cheap for me. I spend the extra few hundred dollars because of great reviews and a superior experience last year. I will not be spoken to in a condescending way. On the second leg of my travel from Singapore to LAX the flight attendant once again said that I will not be given socks? Why, thought? I'm traveling for over 30 hours. Have things changed? Second, I asked for a second ice-cream. She handed me the ice-cream then took it out my hand and told me she would have to come back to me. The galley that was suppose to have food didn't seem to have anything. Was I missing something. Be fail on many level."

Cons: "This trip was not quite as excellent as my flights on Singapore Airlines usually are; however, I cannot say for sure there was much that airline staff could have done to change this. A great deal of turbulence earlier in the flight made it difficult to enjoy the food. Also, there was a sewage-like smell that wafted through the air periodically - this could have been a child in the surrounding seats, though. Both of these issues seem difficult for the airline staff to address, however, unless the smell actually came from a problem with the ventilation system. The staff was exceptionally helpful and good-natured, though, which made the biggest difference. Thank you so much."

Cons: "My flight to Narita was fabulous, so I was surprised to find the return flight home filled with a condescending crew, terrible food, and a broken entertainment system. We had requested a Muslim meal on the previous flight, but the food was so spicy and smelly that we chose to go with the normal faire on the way back. I changed it on the website when I checked in online but when we arrived at the airport we were informed that the meal was still set as a muslim meal. The representative at the baggage counter called the plane and made sure that it was changed back to a normal meal. However, when it was dinner time we were presented with muslim meals. When we spoke to the head airhost to request a normal meal he said that they only carried a specific number and an leftover meals were for the crew only and that we had to eat the muslim meals or have sandwiches. We requested the sandwiches - the muslim meal was too spicy and had made us sick before. The "sandwiches" were pretty much two slabs of dry bread with some mayo slapped on. Disgusting and dry. I wish they could have made an exception for us or provided us with something edible. It was a long flight and we were starving by the time breakfast rolled around. The crew was condescending and cold. My entertainment system lacked functionality; some of the buttons on my remote were broken."

Lady in TXL yelled at me to leave her desk and to call Air New Zealand. Air NZ said they cancelled flights then Flyus.com said to deal with Air New Zealand and said my flights got cancelled and that they could not get me another flight. I had to find out how to get out of Berlin. I had to fly to Spain to my cousin’s home because I haf no where to go and did not have money to pay for another flight from Berlin to LAX 1,200 euros. I am still in Europe stuck and it is Monday 4/30. My son needs me in Los Angeles! I will never use Kayak again. What happened to my $878 dollars????"

This caught me by surprise, and I wish it was brought to my attention before I went to the airport. The seats were okay, didn't recline as much as I would've liked. Cons: "Even though i was booked on Air NZ, the flight was operated through Virgin Australia. This was only an issue when i tried to check in at Air NZ and was directed over to Virgin Australia. Once i found the right ticket counter to check in, i found that there was an extra baggage fee of NZ$130 that i had to pay to check my bag. Also, dinner seemed to be included for just about everyone sitting around me, and it was not included for me. I don't remember having the option of booking dinner with my flight. The agent at the Virgin Australia counter mentioned that this often happens when booking flights through the websites that are not the carrier's direct website. I have used others before, and not had these same issues... oh well - i guess that's what i get for booking through FlightNetwork.com. I'll probably go directly to airline websites in the future."

Same as my previous flight with crew, Crew were so late in responses, my wife actually walked to their place 2 times to get milk for the baby. Also she was not served food at all when they served breakfast. We requested Hindu meal and I was served hindu meal and she was missed and when they served lunch she was told she has not requested prior to the flight and can only be served a regular meal, which she gladly accepted. Kid was not served any food again, so we gave her solid from our meal. When we requested some food for the baby she was given a banana baby food(Kid did not even eat it). Taste of the food was edible(Not great). Overall do not fly emirates with a kid"

Crew was apologetic but was offering me free drink (almost seemed like bribe). One of the checked bags torn when we collected it at LAX; Overall, pretty bad but most annoying is the fact that they nickel & dime for seat position and lot of families were spread all over (not just mine)."

Entertainment set of was pretty good on their Boeing 777-300Er flight, but average on the A380-800. The 16 hour flight will not be pleasant for most. Why the toilets are so compact? I would pay extra for bit more room. This is a problem with all airlines. They allowed me to take a laptop and a hand baggage in LAX but forced me to check in the hand bag in Dubai. They pick random passengers for this. Irritating."

The attendant noticed my shocked stare and then gave me a veggie meal too. 2. On a 16 hour flight, our tv screens didn't work. None of the attendants even came by to check, even after repeatedl requests. 3. My 6 and 9 year old kids would like to know why they didn't get any of the courtesy toys/coloring books that were given to other similar age kids. I don't want to tell them it was due to their skin color. 4. Even a request for water turned into a tug of war after we had waited for almost 20 minutes. I finally poured it out myself."

Pros: "The flight was about 12.5 hrs from Sydney to Los Angeles. It was economy and they provided dinner and breakfast and snacks in between. There was not a lot of leg room but more than most airlines provide in economy. They provided movies and like entertainment including the headsets at no charge. Meals and entertainment at no charge is a plus for them when most airlines are charging for everything but the air you breathe during the flight."
Pros: "Qantas entertainment system was excellent, very up to date. broad selection of movies and TV shows, good selection of music as well. The AA flight on a 737-800 was unexpectedly excellent, the seats are very comfortable, spacious, and the entertainment system superb."
Cons: "for the Qantas flight, seats were abysmal for a 15hr flight. These are similar to the intolerable seats and spacing for domestic (US) flights on legacy carriers (although, American is now radically changing seat dimensions and comfort on the 737-800). For a 6hr flight, it is not tolerable. For a 15hr non-stop flight, it is punishing. The Qantas A380-200 is no longer a new plane. The seat hardware is tired, lumpy, stiff, back-breaking. This could be improved by more space per seat, but it is not. I am 6'3" (189cm) and not at all fat (75kg), but the amount of seating space was tight. Again, this is an inconvenience for a short flight, and absolutely punishing on a long, 15hr, flight. It was not a cheap flight, and surely some updated seats can be put in, with fewer rows. By contrast, I flew back to US on Air New Zealand, and was entirely comfortable on a 12hr leg on very modern and spacious seats in the lowest economy class seat, on a 777 plane for a much cheaper fare."

Cons: "The cargo door got stuck and I luggage was not delivered in time for me to catch my next flight. Then there was only two people at the counter to book passengers on another flight and one of the booking agent was tied up trying to find another flight for two children that had missed their connecting flight. Later more agents appeared. Nevertheless, the supervisor was asking one of her subordinates on how to input certain data into the system in order to change my flight. I feel that the agent should have been able to input the data without having to rely on other employees. American airlines was not very helpful in trying to expedite the booking process. I tried to use my express pass and was told by an American airline agent that I had enough time to stand in line. When it was my turn to book my flight to Charlotte, I was informed that I would not have enough time to make the flight. Then I was sent to the customer service line and had to wait another 30 to 40 minutes to resolve this matter. In the process I miss my appointment with my attorneys and Charlotte and this special meeting had to be rescheduled for next Saturday. Thereby, requiring me to drive from South Carolina to North Carolina which is about five hours or more round trip. I was so tired that once I arrive to Charlotte I had to stay in a motel for the evening because I was to exhausted to drive home. I had saved for this trip over a three-year periodI saved and this Esperance was the worst customer service that I have ever received. In closing, thank you for giving me an opportunity to express my oppinion regarding the customer service that I would provide it on this trip."

We are very unhappy with the back row where the seats did not recline at all!! Dreading the return flight for that reason. When we checked in at St. Louise we were not able to use kiosk because it did not recognize do he Quantas flight numbers and personnel checked us in. We were pleased our checked baggage was sent thru to Melbourne, but surprised that we could not get seat assigned at that point."

Those who had an extra 15 pounds or more felt squished. Food was mostly yucky. A few things were somewhat edible. 10 year old boy seated behind me kept kicking the seat - found out later that it was also jarring due to having GAMES on the headrest. Idiocy personified. His constant poking of the screen BEHIND MY HEAD made for an ugly flight until I asked his mother to swap seats with him. Very frustrating. Kids should be in a sequestered area....together."

Cons: "Pricey ticket to a what was offered. I was actually really disappointed by what United had to offer on the flight from San Francisco to Hong Kong and back. An incredibly old and outdated aircraft for a 15 hour flight it's unacceptable for the price that was charged for the ticket. On my way back from Hong Kong my seat located at 54A had the headphone connector not working, leaving me with no audio whatsoever other than "I'm sorry" by the flight attendent. Really?? Anyways, had really bad and disappointing experience with United on these treat. Would NOT recommend to anybody. Time to update your equipment UNITED or look for competition."

Cons: "The first contact in the airport was quite rude when informing me that I had to measure my suitcase for size. I have carried this suitcase on on every airline for over 10 years....the size got smaller and United got $25.00....not happy. There was NO free movies, no access to TV, flight pattern....nothing and it could not be turned off. ONE cookie for a coast-to-coast flight. What happened to United?"
Pros: "The seats and the availabilty of tv if you want to pay. I also really apprciated the email updates from kayak with flight information and gate changes. I also liked being able to choose my seat on my phone."
Cons: "The asian mix with wasabi peas as a snack- gross!!! Gimmie pretzles, oyster crackers, goldfish, anything but that asian mix. What happened to peanuts?! I also didnt appriciate that i checked in on my phone almost as soon as i was able to and i was in the very last boarding group which left me subjuct to having to check my bags because the people before me took all the space....so i didnt really see any benefit to checking in asap on my phone...i was left with a somewhat bad taste in my mouth boarding as a united attendant said my bag was too big and had to be checked after already flying on two small planes with no problem. she insisted and i refused and there was plenty of space left, luckily i did not have to check my bag....on another note (and i know this is all the airline not sure if you care to hear it) i dont want to hear about space problems when i watch the pilots and flight attendants board with 2 or more bags and i see then in the storage spaces above the seats saying"do not move". Im the one paying for this flight. You all are working and or flying for free and should not get priority space for baggage. You check YOUR bags and see what thats like! Overall good experience though thanks for asking ;)"
Pros: "My first flight was cancelled and it appeared i wouldn't make it to my destination on the day which I intended. A Delta/united employee at the Eugene Airport (Collette) quickly and kindly moved some things around and got me a flight out only an hour later, upgraded me to comfort select seating, and some how managed to get me to my final destination (2 flights ) only an hour after I originally booked for. She did all this with a smile on her face while a worried guest (me) wasn't sure what he was going to do if it weren't for her impeccable service. Thanks Collete and United!"
Pros: "I like the small size. The food and drink are so minimal it's hard to rate. The flight attendants were courteous and efficient. The flight was on time."

Cons: "Delayed 3x for "air traffic control problems" such bullshit. Be honest. Missed a multi million dollar business dinner . Unreal. You'd be surprised how "my flight was delayed" doesn't play in the real world and I don't know why we put up with it from United."
Pros: "II like the speed of the overall flight. The group was boarded promptly and we leave right one time. Everything was efficient and done in a quick and timely manner."
Cons: "There's no entertainment in the plane whatsoever, but it's understandle. Flights for United are generally cheaper than most so I don't expect anything fancy or entertaining."
