When I checked in on line I was not notified that I should buy the checked backs online so assumed one bag each was free. Instead we were charged $nz120. This is not acceptable and I would like a refund. Please help on this request. Thank you."

Pros: "The regional flights are nice and quick with no frills or complications. Everyone is in one cabin and you can quickly board using kiosks at the gate."

Cons: "We were late arriving, the cabin crew although they were pleasant, didn’t do enough to allow the passengers to get off first, for the connecting flight. Malaysian airlines stayed in the runway, fixing an engine and the pilot said they were delaying the plane, driving in for passengers to disembark. After being told by cabin crew that a number of us were late for connecting flight, that they were going to wait for us, they didn’t and we were told we had missed the flight. We were kindly put on the next flight which wasn’t until five hours later. Unrealistic scheduling causes is to miss our flight and had us sitting at the airport for four hours, making it an unnecessarily long day. Not impressed."

The air New Zealand part was all great plane boarding etc, the horrible part is that we bought baggage allowances with virgin and they never transferred the information to air New Zealand. So there I am from the USA in a foreign country boarding a flight being asked to pay 500 nz dollars for a few kilos when I had already paid for it. Having to produce emails and payment information on something I had done months in advance. Overall I won’t recommend virgin next time I’d book directly with air New Zealand"

After going through the whole security screening process to enter the departures area (I boarded in Singapore), the whole security process is performed again to get to the gate. Why do I and my carry-on luggage need to be checked twice? Once at the gate, all passengers are herded like sheep into an area that has insufficient seats for the number of passengers, so many are left to stand or sit on the floor. If the airline wants to use a plane that carries 500+ passengers, then use a gate that can accommodate that number."

Cons: "American Airlines cancelled a flight because of ‘weather’ from Msy to dfw, all other flights from Msy to Dallas operated on time but were sold out. We were re booked flying through San Francisco, missing out on flying on qantas, which is what I had paid for since they are a premium airline. We were booked on virgin America and then United for the international flight. United charged us each for 2 bags totalling $150 each, despite we booked a ticket with qantas which allows 2 bags each. Virgin America honoured our 2 bags, but united refused to. United also has service and aircraft which do not match the levels of qantas which I has specifically sought out. I could not eat some of the food because of the poor quality, and this is something I’ve never done before on an international flight. Additionally their were a lack of amenities on both flights, and no food vouchers despite our travel delay of over 5 hours. This whole ordeal has cost me money, worktime, and created a lot of stress to where I have had to cancel meeting on my arrival in Sydney."

This made me uneasy from the very beginning that I would lose my London-Luxembourg flight. The crew in the boarding gate, only after much insisting, said they would make a note so that someone from Qantas would wait for me and help me get my London-Luxembourg flight no problem, but in the next stopovers (Melbourne, Dubai), there was no sign of this. Also, the delay in the end was 2h 20 min - and I lost my flight to Luxembourg."

Pros: "Crew was great. A380 was great"
Cons: "Flight delayed (mechanical problems) again. Twice in two years. This caused us to miss our connecting flight from LA to Austin and wait 4 hours."

Pros: "Food off the menu was excellent. Tummy wasn't feeling well so I liked having carb-free options. The Asian salad for dinner and fruit platter for brekkie went down well."
Cons: "Have always booked tickets and flown with my partner. Set alarm to check-in online exactly 24hrs prior to departure as usual and found my partner and I seated in different seats with no available seats to switch. How can this be on an aircraft this big? Thought we might be able to fix it at the counter next day, we headed to the airport early by 3hrs to sort it out. Maybe it was the end of a long day, our flight was close to midnight... Check-in lady was lovely and all smiles but it went downhill from here... No option to sit together and no offer of an upgrade at the counter or at boarding (we didn't ask). Duty-free collection instructions weren't clear prior to boarding ("board as you will and pick up after") and during boarding the staff member seemed over it ("pick up after boarding"). Wouldn't it be easier to advise over the PA so we don't have to ask or if we have to ask explain something along the lines of "you can collect your duty free from the cart after you scan you ticket, prior to boarding the aircraft". The worst part of our experience was the aircraft itself. The plane was obviously very old and tired. My partner's seat kept reclining and wouldn't stay upright (we didn't complain). Rows were so close together that you could smell the person in front's hair when they reclined their chair fully (which they did for the entirety of the flight) and your eyes feel cross-eyed it was so close. The entertainment system was old - we couldn't choose when to watch our movies and as movies aren't the same duration we missed out on a lot of the movies we did want to watch. Finally the selection of movies could've made up for this downfall but it was incredibly limited in selection for a long haul flight. Not sure if it was us but the flight crew also seemed tired and over it too. Luckily we had sleeping pills so we slept through much of the flight but what we did experience wasn't good at all. V disappointed."

Pros: "We have travelled a few times by Qantas because we come from Australia. Their planes are safe. Our plane got delayed ( and this is not the first time we have had this with Qantas), and then we missed our connecting flight. The ground staff were not helpful at all. Our connecting flight was with LAn airlines and LAN were very cooperative and gave us another later flight though they were not obligated to do so. Qantas are generally too much by the book and things always go wrong. I still use them but it is a risk that I need to consider more next time. LAN/Latam helped us out because they are more customer oriented. Anyway, good luck"
Cons: "Qantas are too stingy and not customer focussed. We missed our flight due to their plane late by 6 hours and they did not offer assistance even though we missed our connecting flight. The other carrier helped us out, phew!"

The little extras like, chocolate snacks, ice cream, a huge selection of entertainment, the most current navigation systems that allowed you to know and see at ever minute exactly where you were on the journey, just to name a few. Cons: "There was a child in a car seat in the seat behind me and she kicked my seat for the first few hours. At that point the parents turned her seat around and it was easier to fly. The window seat is usually my preference but strangely enough there is so much of a gap between the seat and the "wall" and window that i constantly lost my pillow in the slot"

Pros: "The food was decent, plane was delayed and we flew business. It would’ve been good if they brought over some more drinks during the delay. Maybe they should’ve started preparing the supper meals on the ground too so they were ready to go when we finally took off just because it was a red eye flight of just 5 hours and it would have made much more sense to allow us more sleep time."
Cons: "The seats in business are totally weird. There is a metal foot rest that’s quite common in premium economy but the stretch seemed very short. I’m a short guy and I found my feet hanging over this bar which was uncomfortable. Also the pitch of the seat and short seat made both my partner and I slide down the seat. Perhaps the seats Jet star selects for its business could have calf rests that are located higher up so our legs are elevated more like in a chaise lounge or hammock for don’t slide down. The absolute worst thing about Jetstar flights are the passengers. The lowest common denominator Australians book budget airlines (especially Jetstar) and they rush the gate, over pack their 7kg of carryon, they are rough and loud and have little control of their children. They don’t know the difference beteeen inside and outside voices and speaking to someone face to face instead of shouting from a distance. Perhaps Jetstar should have a flying etiquette email and in seat card to remind people of how to behave. One braided head wench was berating the poor guy checking tickets at the gate who asked her to finish her water as a condition of EVERY AIRLINE and AIRPORT. He didn’t deserve her uneducated rudeness."

Cons: "Rude Jetstar staff at Coolingatta found we had 4 items weighing 15.5 kg instead of 14 and wanted to charge us $60 to load a bag on plane. Last Jetstar flight for me"

Cons: "it is more like a Cage Chicken situation, where the seats and spaces are shrinking every day. No room to move and keens from people behind you is pinching your arse all the time. Should have pay bit more in Virgin or Qantas and get some space to breath. Kayak does not offer extra luggage at time of you booking and jetstar sucks you like a leach on upgrading after booking. One of the passengers were not able to travel and ticket was complete lost , where as the inbound flight on Qantas gave us credit for the future. In the end , the total cost ends up close to other airlines with all the discomfort on the flight free."

Cons: "Flight was delayed for no reason at all. Rude staff. Forced a domestic flight to land/take off at an international terminal so we had to go through customs control before taking off and after arrival. Pay some more money and fly Qantas or anything but awful Jetstar..."

You get nothing for your money EVERYTHING is EXTRA cost and expensive. From baggage to basic snacks, if you are silly enough to buy. Not even a radio outlet. Seats are hard and uncomfortable, but the "icing on the cake", is the removal of the pockets behind the seats to make the leg room look more, so you now have nowhere to put a water bottle or a drink down. JETSTAR/QANTAS should be very (proud) ashamed of themselves. By the way has anyone noticed the prospective destruction of the iconic Kangaroo symbol on QANTAS planes known all over the world as AUSTRALIAN, that the Irish CEO of Qantas is happily removing at enormous cost, over the next months to be replaced by an indescribable symbol, that is so similar to CHINA AIRLINES, it is not funny. Takeover in the wind?No wonder QANTAS is so expensive and its cheaper arm JETSTAR are cut to the bone. Staff can only do so much."

Cons: "The flight was delayed, without any explanation as to why. This made it very difficult to fulfill work requirements upon landing. I would have appreciated some kind of explanation / apology. Also, I don't like the in-flight gambling ("raffle") option. Jetstar hands out scratchie tickets for $5.00 a pop. The odds of winning (the car) are ludicrous and gambling is a serious problem in Victoria. So, I don't think it is appropriate. The in-flight food was absurdly expensive. Finally - and, perhaps, most importantly - the flight wasn't smooth. It didn't appear to be due to turbulence, but (rather) the pilot / s. The plane kept dipping up and down, making us feel sick."

Pros: "We can't remember his name but the cabin crew leader was excellent with a great sense of humour. He really "made" the trip.
