Pros: "The flight was not packed so I got three seats to myself to sleep. Emirates has a lot of little touches like glow in the dark stars stuck to the cabin roof."

Cons: "Online Check-in didn't work properly, so we had to check in at the airport. They were understaffed and it took us over an hour to get through check in. The customer service was horrible, and we were only allowed to bring a backpack for a carry on, forcing us to check our one carry on bag. This made our two long flights uncomfortable with nothing to change into once we landed in Dubai and still had another 8 flight to Johannesburg. The flight itself was overbooked, and we then had to place our backpacks under the seats in front of us, giving us no leg room for 13 hrs."

Cons: "Service, the interior and almost everything is poorly managed. The inflight after ringing the call bell for 10 minutes, was disgruntled to attend to us, literally screamed at us saying she was busy in the back and we need to be patient. She took an additional 10 minutes to bring us some water. Her attitude was inexcusable and offensive. I have been a loyal flyer making at least 2 travels in a year with Emirates and I'm ready to switch now."

Cons: "Checking online didn’t work. You could not request seats ahead of time and would tell you check in online and when you tried it would fail and told us to go to the airport which we did the day before and they told us they couldn’t do anything. Every agent told us something different about meal plans and seats. Crew onboard were not friendly and rude to us in economy. The vegetarian meal requested was awful and ended up being vegan which was not what we requested. When I asked for fruit plate off the regular menu the flight attendant never followed back up with me and so we didn’t eat any food for on a 15+ hour flight. Even though they had 100+ empty seats we couldn’t move around. Overall I was highly disappointed in their service on this flight."

Cons: "Individual lights should be smaller and more direct. Person behind us had on whole flight - no sleeping for anyone near us. Flight leaves at 1115. Means you travel through the day and arrive in la in the am. If you didn't get to sleep it's torture. Also flight attendants put on full lights to serve breakfast 3 hours before flight landed! Which was around midnight to the passengers body clocks. United and virgin let passengers sleep"

Pros: "The crew take time to talk to you, and everyone of them has a smile. The in flight meals were great, not typical airline TV dinners. They were good meals. The entertainment selection is outstanding, especially for a 14-hour flight. power outlets work, and they even have snacks in the galley area like Lufthansa so if you need a soft drink, coffee or candy...it is there all during the flight. A long flight could not be made easier"

Pros: "Appreciate the leg room. I had a kit from business which included earplugs. Very grateful for them as there was a screaming baby nearby. Last time I could PE it was a different kit and had no buds. Staff were very friendly and excellent service all round."
Cons: "Food is not so good in Premium. Really notice the difference after flying Business, but I also heard Q recently changed provider. Pasta was bland, overcooked, uninspiring. Muesli tasted very sugary, like it was made with brown sugar. Not as healthy as the biz class meals."

Pros: "The Qantas staff in both LAX and MEL were polite, helpful, and professional. No problems checking in, online or at the airport. Flights were punctual and aside from major delays, went as planned. The kindness and responsiveness of the crew made the flight more bearable. What can I say? Everything went very smoothly. To me, a sign of competent management and good work ethic among Qantas employees. Very impressed. Good job Aussies!"

The QANTAS flight staff are great. I also like that they don't go down the aisle with trolleys a lot (just for the meals) and that they just come around with jug and cup for drinks."
