Cons: "- The plane supposedly has free wifi :) :) :) but this is too good to be true. After a long and complicated procedure “all free wifi passes are gone, try again next time”. Someone said there are only 70 passes for the entire plane. - Similar experience with “free wifi” Guangzhou’s Bayun airport if you don’t have a Chinese simcard in your phone. - Navigating China Southern’s website for online check-in is a nightmare."

Cons: "Lost my check-in luggage - still not returned after 4 days. Broke my expensive checked-in suitcase on the first leg of the trip. (No reimbursement for loss or damage.) Leads you through online check-in but denies allowing you to complete it. Could not reserve any seats (for 4 international flights) ahead of airport check-in. Forced to give up my assigned seat to accommodate someone else. No customer service contact phone number (in English) that works. Poorly designed website - difficult to locate and utilize options."

Cons: "Unable to use Mobil check- in asked at ticket counter for a forward seat next to exit doors because I am a tall person over 6’3 ended up aisle seat that had issues maintaining a locked upright position plane left 35 min late"

Yes - all 500+ people...with all their kids and bags, old people young people, all going up one single stair case, up two floors."

Multiple crying babies with toddlers running the isles all night with no parental control or Flight attendant(s) intervention, even after being asked by multiple passengers. Woooh... movie/IFE selection drastically cut back! why? Food, worst in 7yrs. Guangzhou layover, lounge(s) not prepared, minimal pre packaged snacks no hot food, showers not working or rather not cleaned from night before would take "hours" for them to be cleaned and available. Will probably be last flight with Southern China, has dropped considerably and is no longer a "worthy" airline."

Cons: "Everything apart from the flight was terrible. Customer service is a nightmare to reach. You have to push a button every 30 seconds to indicate you want to remain on hold. I had a long layover and they put us in a dump of a hotel too far from the airport to get back by myself, with no staff able to communicate with any English, no working internet, and not even a map. I had wanted to visit a nearby city and instead had to spend 19 hours in a bad hotel. They also confiscated my external battery from my checked luggage (my fault) but have provided no way for me to get it back unless I'm in China."

Cons: "Mainland Chinese have a VERY different concept of personal space and respect for others when compared to Westerners. This is evidenced by the manner in which the restrooms were used (disgusting after 1 hour of a 14 hr. flight) AND how they literally "attack" the food / beverages. Obviously it is a Chinese airline so best to accept this behavior and deal with it! You have been warned!"

Cons: "The A-380 is a monster of a plane, but there isn't much in the way of leg room in economy class compared to the 738. Also, the no cell phone rule is a bit annoying if you have things on your phone that you need to access during a 15-hour flight."

The telephones do not connect easily, and then it becomes difficult to reach the desired person for help. For doing anything, the website asks for 13-digit ticket number, but it has not been provided in the e-tickets or any email also."
Pros: "I was pickpocketed the day of my flight - wallet and passport. This earlobe told me my ticket was in refundable and that not having a passport was not a reason not to fly. Complete idiots and terrible service. I will never use this airline again"

Cons: "Ridiculous weight restrictions on baggage (all I had was a backpack but the restriction is for 11 pounds only...even though it fits under the seat. When the drink cart came, I requested water and was told they had none! Phones may not be used at all, even in airplane mode. Not only are you deprived of any in-flight entertainment, but you can't even use your own phone to listen to music."
