Pros: "The employees of Air New Zealand always make our trips excellent."
Cons: "I always have trouble hearing the announcements in the waiting areas at the airports. Why can't they (airports) fix that."

Cons: "Please have the option to order Kosher meal!! The 1st air company that I use, that don’t offer this basic service!! Ridiculous!!"

Pros: "Strong crew service is the highlight of flying Air New Zealand. Plane comfort is good, with nice ambient lighting, decent seats and reasonably spacious toilets. At least for now, they have in-seat entertainment screens with lots of current offerings. Our flight had free wi-fi, a real plus."
Cons: "Boarding with Air New Zealand at Heathrow was complex and poorly organised when compared to the smooth and efficient process at LAX. This has been the case each time I have flown this same route with this airline."

Cons: "Air New Zealand needs to get onto the TSA Precheck program and the agent at check-in (in the biz line) started scolding me for not meeting the economy baggage allowance (only 1 small 7kg carry on), but everything else was perfect. Best biz class flight I’ve ever had, mostly because of the cabin crew"

Cons: "The flight was not on time There was no food on the plane for us even though we paid “full service carrier” price There were very few free movies!!! This is horrible. We wished we’d flown with Jetstar - lack of everything like with air New Zealand but at least the price would be much lower!"

Pros: "I was disappointed that Air New Zealand charges US15 to reserve specific seats. For our party of 3, that would be US90 RT so I didn't do it. But at the gate I asked for window seats and the attendant gave us excellent seats at the front of the plane."

Cons: "There was only approximately 13 inches for the aisle between seat sections. It was mostly women with big wide hips who kept me awake most of the 12 hour and 34 minute flight, as they brushed my shoulder disturbing my ability to rest."

Touch button options for ordering drinks , food , movies, chatting with other seat passangers , Wow! Blew my mind . We left on time and landed on time too. We had premium economy seats - felt like business class other than reclining level of the seats. Pretty good value!!"

Cons: "Crew was so busy that they kept overlooking my husband and I when doing the rounds of everything, We felt like we were singled out to be ignored, even though we paid for Premium Economy. Our flight was delayed for more than an hour. Food was barely ok even though we had been on Air NZ Premium economy 4 times now, was sorely disappointed with the food provided."

Cons: "Extra charge for luggage - it showed up in the itinerary only after everything has been paid for. And even the paid suitcase allowed 23 kg only. It has been just over TEN years ago that you had two suitcases at 32 kg each included in price! Does the airline seriously believe that you can travel around the world with just a swim trunk in your pocket? This policy is an insult to any world traveller. We do not all go into an all-inclusive resort! The only drink offered during the flight was plain water, again a step down from before where they also offered others, e.g. orange juice. Seating - now that big persons have the right for two seats for the price of one, when will the same rational apply to tall people?"

Cons: "Our plane for this flight made an unexpected stop in Detroit and we were told that they did not know "if the plane would be leaving Detroit or if another plane could be found for us". We honestly thought the flight would end up being cancelled and we would have to find somewhere to stay that night. They ended up finding another plane an hour and a half later and our gate was changed four times during our wait."

Cons: "On March 18, 2018 Joanne, Kevin, and Allison Sheridan were booked to go from SYD to YYJ and only Kevin took off. We went to the airport and my daughter Allison was too anxious to get on as she had to leave her father behind. After she calmed down we went to get on the flight and the lady at the check in, (Onwsha) said it was too late and we could leave the next day. She changed my tickets on the computer and said if we came on Monday, March 19th there wouldn't be a charge but if it was any other date it would be $150.00 per ticket/person. When I arrived to check in on March 19th I was charged the $300. I spoke to Sharon Smith who was with Air Canada Customer Service Coordinator and I explained I was told something different by the customer agent. I told her if I knew that and I was told by Onwsha I would have went on the flight on March 18th but would not have checked the bags and just taken carry on luggage as my husband was still at the airport and he could bring them when he came over. Sharon Smith said there was nothing she could do and we had to pay the $300.00. It really has left a bad taste for me with Air Canada especially how many seats were spare and I was told something different from Onwsha. Thank you for your time. Cons: "By the time the food cart got to the rear of the plane their was none of the good entrees left for my family including my to young boys who had already licked out what they wanted, but got nothing they liked."

Pros: "While I've ranked the crew as poor, that isn't a reflection of the entire crew. The flight crew and check-in team were fine, the boarding I have as mediocre due to delay, but I don't put that on the staff."
Cons: "My issues are two part: 1 - I wasn't informed that I was required to retrieve my luggage from the carousel on this flight from George Town to Toronto. I thought perhaps I missed something, however, the three other couples that were in the same predicament I was weren't aware either. This caused a massive headache, the instructions were superbly poor on how to retrieve the luggage, and the process was completely a waste of time. We had to talk with three different people, the person that took us back to the carousel showed no urgency despite us all explaining that we were on a short layover, and might miss our next flight, and even though we had our passes to get through customs, we were made to wait in line to have our baggage inspected. A completely broken process that could've been avoided with a friendly reminder at check-in. 2 - Once I was able to retrieve my luggage I picked it up off the carousel only to find the handle on one piece of luggage had been ripped off, and the plastic lining on the other bag was destroyed. Admittedly I find this to be no surprise after seeing how mine and everyone else's luggage was handled so poorly upon being loaded into the cargo. I saw my luggage being tossed 3-5 feet into the cargo area - literally picked up, and with complete disregard flung like it was a trash bag being thrown into the dumpster. Since I didn't have time to discuss this with any staff due to my prior issue and being unable to find a representative once I landed back in Vancouver, I called the next day to discuss this over the phone, but the representative explained that I was only able to make a complaint in-person at the time of baggage retrieval. The person was absolutely useless and unwilling to help. This was by far the worst treatment I've had at any time in my life while flying any airline. The trip to George Town was with American Airlines, and even though it was longer, and a tad bit more expensive, the service I had with them was stellar by comparison to my experience with AirCanada. Going forward I will only be using AC when there are absolutely no other options."

Cons: "The airline crew keep on pushing back the departure due to bad weather. No discipline while boarding passengers. Delay after landing to open the door. No clear instructions about the delays"

Pros: "Had an empty middle seat between my window seat and my friend's aisle seat which was nice on such a long flight."
Cons: "This was my first intercontinental flight on Air Canada and I was surprised at how meager their meal and entertainment offerings were. Every other airline I've flown between North America and Asia gives bigger meals and more free entertainment to help pass the considerable flight time."

Pros: "staff was great checkin at the airport was a breeze and love the 2 checked free luggage for international flights. food was mediocre but what do you expect, I'm just glad we got 2 meals and 2 snacks. great touch."
Cons: "only issue was the fact the online checkin was unavailable to us for some reason which basically left my girlfriend and I sitting in separate rows in between 2 people for 17 hours. entertainment was also pretty lacking with only a few movies available."

Pros: "Loved crews."
Cons: "Our plane was delayed for 5 hrs. On top of it, they brought in a smaller plane with 100+ less seating than original one which caused us losing our reserved seating. They refused to give us our seating arrangements up until the boarding time. All the other passengers had boarding tickets but us. So our family couldn’t sit together. I had a super pleasant experience with Air Canada prior to this trip so it made me so sad. On the other hand, crew were fantastic. We missed our connecting flight but they took care of us so I was happy in that sense."

I was told at the airport that it needs to be submitted 24 hrs before the flight and there was nothing they could do. Really unfair and not on."

Cons: "I bought my ticket with Air Canadafrom Vancouver to Calgary then connected with Lufthansa from Calgary to London UK. Unknown to me I could not find the flight because it had been changed to an AC reference flight. With a very short time for the connection I did not know where to get my boarding pass as my flight with Lufthansa was nowhere referred to ! Not which gate to go . Why not put it in the ticket that Lufthansa and Air Canada work together and that both flights ref should show !! It would avoid a great deal of anxiety . Only offered 1 round if hot drinks over 9 hours ! Departure delayed by nearly 60 minutes"

Cons: "i am à French National ( France) living in UK. After a confusing conversation from the officer not understanding that I was not travelling to France ( assumption) I was asked to show evidence I had the right to enter UK !!!! I explained I lived there permanently ; I was then asked why French hate English so much!!! To which I explained only narrow minded people would believe so and that the style of her comment were not appropriate . I explained my children were half French half British and that her comment was offensive ."

Pros: "I was reading so much about how cramped and uncomfortable the seats on Air Canadas 787's, but I don't think their product is any worse than most other economy class products out there."
Cons: "Their "continental breakfast" was a dry piece of banana bread and yoghurt. No jam, butter cheese or other spreads to compliment with your bread. Most disappointing "continental breakfast" I have had on a plane!"

Pros: "Excellent attention over the telephone for re-royting. Thanks to Kayaks timely notification I was able to rearrange my return."

Pros: "Ease of boarding - no long queues. Offer to put hand luggage in the hold with no charge."

Cons: "The television screen with on-board entertainment options didn't work properly, so I was unable to watch movies/television or play games. This was disappointing as it was a fairly long flight."

Pros: "My goal was to get a flight for a reasonable price. I got that and had great entertainment with the Air Canada app as well."

Cons: "Air Canada offers this flight DAILY. Yet somehow the boarding was the most excruciating tedious I’ve had to endure. Passengers who needed assistance boarding seemed to have to deal with haphazard organisation, and the fact that they seemed surprised so many people brought carry-on luggage that the bins filled up is laughable. Changed my return flight to Alaska Air."

Cons: "Crew was outright rude, seemed to go out of their way to be disrespectful and unhelpful, no information ahead of time to download the app to get the then subpar entertainment. No wifi option. Seats horribly filthy, gum stuck, trash, magazines all outdated and torn up, and little to no room. Worse than any other airline. food was pretty gross."

Cons: "I didn't travel with children, but if I had done they would have needed entertaining. The crew offered iPads (to rent) for the entertainment of children and adults alike. Why can these not just be given to passengers, better still BRING BACK SCREENS IN SEATBACKS!!!"

Pros: "Everything. The plane was immaculate, the seats were comfortable, the food was delicious, the flight crew was friendly and professional. Air Canada's abillity to transit passengers from the US to international destinations is truly remarkable and must be best in class. I went from an inbound flight from Houston, through Immigration and to the gate for my flight to London in under 15 minutes!"
