Pros: "I liked the front & below cameras. I used the pillow for my back. It was a very long flight & we were served two meals, coffee, & a snack. The flight was delayed but they switched me to the very next airline & I still arrived on time. Flight arrived at midnight when the airport is not so busy. No issues with security when transferring planes. Customs waved us through & the baggage arrived quickly."

Cons: "I wasn't able to choose my seat on line and ended up in a window seat. With the seats in front of my row reclined all the way back, I could not get out of my seat to use the restroom. Having just transferred from Korean Airlines and taken other asian airlines on my trip, it's a hard comparison to a domestic airline, although Hawaiian is among one of the better domestics. On my food tray, there was a bowl of miso soup, that the attendant was trying to hand me, while there was turbulence. The bowl of miso was smiling all over the tray, and on my napkin, and since I was on the inside seat, almost spilled all over me. On a previous Korean airline fight, also with turbulence, the attendant had taken the bowl off the tray, and covered it with a saran, and then handed it to me to make sure it wouldn't spill all over me. There's a bit of difference there."

The reservationist also told my friend that she had a seat that was like an Isle seat but it was next to the window with no exit access. The only exit access was passing the person next to her which is what she was trying to avoid."

I hope they were a little considerate as I was travelling for a family emergency and had to take all my stuff back as I wasn’t sure what date I would return back. I was over weight but wish they had considered a lil as had to pay an other $300 extra.."

The flight or them was last minute (booked less than 8 hours before take off) so there were no pre-planned kids meals etc. The in cabin team were awesome! They made sure they go a choice of meals, that they had things to do, that they were enjoying the flights. This on top of the usual awesome that they have."

Pros: "The presence and attitude of the flight attendants were highly pleasant and accommodating. The entire flight was very comfortable and made the 9 hour journey from Manchester to Houston Texas fast and enjoyable. The flight attendants always had a wonderful smile which felt genuine many a time and always made an effort to speak at the level of the passenger. When I had trouble connecting to the Wifi, one attendant even knelt down and connected my phone manually as I was not tech savvy in this regard. The food was of much higher quality as well compared to other airlines I traveled with on this trip."

Pros: "We had the BEST FEMALE flight attendants, they were soooo helpful and one of them came and wrote down my kids' names so she can call them by their names, and they got to choose the food and got theirs early so I was able to help them before mine arrived which was super thoughtful! Food option was pretty good and lots of shows and movies to choose from. Getting ice cream was such a treat for my kids!"

Cons: "We were supposed to fly back to Los Angeles from Tokyo on Wednesday, August 24th. We got to Tokyo Narita a little later than planned due to the Narita Express train being delayed. I had received emails that our flight had changed gates, and was then delayed, but when my sister and I went to check into our flight, we were told we were unable to board because it was too late. I thought it was absurd because the flight had not even started boarding, and I had gotten an email saying it was delayed. We tried to reason with them, but they would not let us on the flight. It was imperative that we got back to Los Angeles on Wednesday, but all our plans were ruined due to them bumping us off the flight. My sister had a connecting flight to Boston, which she then had to reschedule and was charged for. We were stuck another night in Tokyo, where we had to spend money on a hotel. The Singapore Airlines attendants eventually informed us that we could get on a flight the next day. This delayed us by 24 hours, which was highly inconvenient. It was also especially unnecessary since due to the flight being delayed, we would have absolutely been able to make it. I do not appreciate being bumped off of a flight due to airlines wanting to make more money, especially being stuck overseas. Its not like it was a domestic flight where we could just hop on another one in the next few hours, this totally derailed all of our plans. I do not appreciate the inflexibility of the Singapore Airlines agents, and this is not an experience that makes me want to recommend flying with Singapore Airlines. I appreciate that they did not charge us, however it was a major inconvenience that could have simply been avoided by better customer service and understanding."

She was very grumpy. Not polite. No smile. Very bossy. Her poor attitude was definitely not necessary. Alaska can do a lot better."

Pros: "Seats rows seemed to be more distance apart than other airlines. Flight was actually done by Air New Zealand rather than Cathay Pacific. Check in at Auckland airport was very quick and highly automated, however, our gate was not posted till one hour before the flight, so we did not know where was the best place to sit and wait."

Cons: "Boarding and take off was delayed by about one hour, with no proactive communication from crew about the delay. Passengers waiting to board individually questioned why we had not started boarding yet when information screens in the airport displayed otherwise. We did not start boarding for a 12 hour international flight until ten minutes to scheduled take off. The first time we were informed about the delay as a group was after we had entered the aircraft."

Cons: "The meal choices were chicken curry or beef on this flight. They ran out of beef quickly. Why would you serve something like curry on an airplane that’s not at all agreeable to at least half the people on the plane and then force the rest of us to eat it when you run out of the other option? My seat recliner was broken so I got to sit straight up for 12 hours."
Cons: "I was not given a chance to make a seat assignment on the Alaska legs between Seattle and LA and ended up being stuck in a middle seat going both ways. There,was no option during booking to make a,seat selection. This was also true for the LA to Auckland outbound leg. This is an area needing improvenent."

Pros: "Booked these flights though Kayak. Landing from LAX at 0730 at Auckland international terminal and then departing at 0900 from the domestic terminal. This is not enough time, doesn’t allow for customs and immigration. It was a really stressful experience running between terminals with my luggage, as there was less than a 1 hour window after getting through customs and immigration, so the bag drop at international wouldn’t accept them. Got to departure gate 12 minutes before plane departure. You need more time to have a good experience !"

Also, the flight times AKL-YVR and YVR-AKL are so civilized! You leave each city around dinner time, you dine, you watch a movie, sleep as much as you want, have breakfast, and then it's time to land! Way better than other options that leave at odd times."

Flight to Seoul from New York was also delayed by 8 hours and I ended up having to spend ~$70 for hotel/taxi due to arriving in Seoul past midnight. Horrible experience both there and back and don't think I would ever take Asiana again."

Cons: "first, although this was an international trip , in business class, the seats were more like something you would find in the premium economy section of other airlines. They were tired and outdated. Second, The entertainment package was abysmal. Basically, you were forced to watch a TV with bad reception, and no ability to choose what you wanted to see other than flipping through the channels and seeing what was already on. That meant never seeing the beginning of a movie. The picture quality was very poor. Although an international flight of seven hours duration, it felt more like a charter bus to Vegas buy a discount operator. I have the exact same experience flying from Korea to San Francisco on a prior trip. If I could learn how to determine which aircraft I would be flying in the future, I would never book an international trip on Asiana knowing that this particular aircraft would convey me."
