Pros: I will always love the staff and the fact that is a boutique hotel makes you feel exclusive. This hotel officially became my favorite for special celebrations like anniversaries & birthdays.

Pros: I loved the historic aesthetic of the property. Everything appeared to be very well maintained. The room was clean, beautiful, and full of charm. The roof deck was very beautiful and relaxing. My husband enjoyed relaxing in the hammock on several occasions. There was a small water leak in the first room we were placed in. Upon notifying the staff, we were quickly moved to another room. The staff was very friendly.

Cons: I signage for the hotel was very small making it a little difficult to locate the hotel. We had some pretty loud guests that checked in late during the evening of our stay. You could hear them talking and laughing very loudly in the atrium:courtyard area. There are quiet hours, but this did not seem to be enforced by the staff. My husband got up and opened the door to see what was going on, and the guests quieted down and went to the rooms at that point.

Pros: I loved the cleanliness of the rooms, the excellent service. The architecture of the hotel, and its impressive rooftop. It is very romantic. I will definitely be back.

Pros: The staff was wonderful, making sure we had all we needed and giving recommendations for where to go. The breakfast was just standard continental fare, but the presentation was very fancy and it was filling! We loved the coffee, so delicious! The location was perfect for exploring Old San Juan, and the property was beautiful! The courtyard and rooftop terrace were lovely.

Cons: Would have enjoyed seeing a couple more options on the breakfast menu, maybe some local pastries; but there wasn't anything I actively disliked about our stay!

Pros: Bed was so comfortable. Bathroom was good not too comfortable, but good enough. Parking is not included but there’s pay parking close a block away.

Pros: Lovely comfy big bed, cleanliness of the hotel and good location.

Cons: The fact that the bar shut at 8pm the night we were there. We got stuck in the lift and were told it was our fault for too many people in the lift, there were 4 of us with 3 cases.

Pros: Great rooftop and outstanding service. Staff were amazingly helpful and so knowledgeable. Also lovely style and concept.

Cons: It was great but unfortunately our room had no external window. Because of the building style (which can’t be helped), windows faced an internal stairwell so couldn’t really be used. There are some with external windows/balconies so just good to keep in mind if that’s your preference.

Pros: This hotel was very nice. It was clean, close to many local attractions, senior frogs, Starbucks, and walgreens just to name a few. The hotel is right in front of where the cruise ships dock so if you time it out right, lots of vendors will be there.

Cons: The hotel staff was friendly enough but not enough to give you that we want you to be here vibe.

Pros: The location was great! Breakfast was probably best I've had at an hotel.

Cons: The air condition didn't work well. Maintenance came to fix it but it never worked. A bit pricey for a warm room.

Pros: This property was close to the cruise terminal. Room was clean.

Cons: I was told that they would hold our luggage when we returned from our cruise so we could walk around the city since we had a late flight. That did NOT happen. They told us no when we got there. We also could not use the restroom in the lobby while we stood/sat on the ground outside for over 4 hours waiting to go to the airport. My parents were with us on this trip and both are over 70 years old.

Cons: There's a "wine & Coffee bar" that serves some food. We ordered a salad,sandwich,and drinks. It took an hour and a half (with weak explanations) for us to get our meal. As we were leaving, I saw the "Chef" making another salad right at the bar. Chef???

Cons: The power went out twice during our stay. My card was charged additional charges without my knowledge or consent. I called the hotel and the front desk said the charges should have been discussed with me at check in and check out. This did not occur.

Cons: We arrived and were three luggage and we had to drag the luggage across un even brick just to get to check-in once we checked in we had to drag all of our belongings to theirs floor we arrived to a prison - cell sized room that was painted pretty, only to find out we were giving the wrong room. We were then told the entire hotel is booked and we had to move up one floor which meant we had to drag our luggage yet another floor on extremely narrow old circular stairs that was impossible to fit one person let alone one person and luggage. I am 5’9” 160 pounds. The place is great maybe for a visit but certainly not to rest. Especially for the rates they are charging

Pros: The beauty of this unique hotel has been well documented. It’s a hotel inside an art gallery and that makes it very special. Loved it. The pool is heavenly. The art amazing.

Cons: The place is bit understaffed, no room service and extremely noisy at night. The noise can’t be helped, but if you are sensitive to it bring earplugs. Some of the rooms are so small and uncomfortable. Ours was no bigger than my walking closet and had no hot water. Luckily the staff was very accommodating and moved us to another bigger room with windows and natural light. The hotel has some rooms that shouldn’t be used as such. Breakfast is just coffee but within walking distance there are plenty of places.

Pros: Extremely interesting small hotel. Like staying in a museum. Beauty in every corner. The location is perfect, very close walks to everything. And the bar with live jazz was the icing on the cake.

Pros: This was one of the neatest hotels I have ever stayed it. It was almost as if you stepped into another era. I could have spent hours just looking around at at all the art and sculptures. My room had a balcony that overlooked the patio and cannon room club. You could hear the music from there which was really neat to be able to sit there and people watch. The people at the front desk was very friendly. The rooftop view was gorgeous.

Pros: The Gallery Inn makes a wonderful impression when you first arrive because there is so much old world charm and so much artwork and interesting items in the very cool space. The location in Old San Juan is also ecxellent.

Cons: The customer service really falls flat. It was hit and miss with the staff. A couple of the staff were kind and somewhat hospitable, but there were several who weren't. The amenities were also lacking. If you are hoping for comfortable spaces to relax and read a book, you're really going to be disappointed. The breakfast consists of dry cornflakes, doll-size cups for coffee, and sliced bread, and store-bought lemon loaf. We heard a rumor that you could request eggs, but no one on staff mentioned this to us, and the guy in the "kitchen" certainly didn't give you the feeling that he would be happy to make anything...maybe it was his lack of eye contact or his back always turned to guests. We were happy to have stayed there once, but we wouldn't stay there again.

Pros: I absolutely LOVE the "indoor/outdoor" living throughout this property! Trees, gardens, sitting areas, fountains, decks, live BIRDS, terraces and even a pool are all uniquely intertwined throughout the compound. Live music is performed every night of the week and emphasizes the owners passion for the arts! It really is a magical little sprawling compound nestled between the 2 spectacular historical forts in Old San Juan. Plan to grab a night cap in the bar while you enjoy the gifted and talented local musicians nightly. The breakfast is fabulous! Basic for free; with made to order for minimal up-charge. LOVE the unique ambiance in every nook and cranny! Feels like and old castle! MUST explore hotel and go to rooftop at sunset. MAGNIFICENT PANORAMIC VIEWS of the island!!! Staff are so kind and always willing to help with everything! We were graciously upgraded to a gorgeous suite call "the Print" without asking! (Don't you just LOVE when THAT happens?) I WILL def return! New favorite boutique hotel in PR. Historic, old world charm, every room has it's own quirky, and completely unique design. Don't think twice! Book now!

Cons: Very difficult to find with the given address; signage is not great but that's typical of Old San Juan. MUST know it's the GREEN building at the tiny side street directly opposite the main sign for the infamous "La Perla" (a "unique" waterfront shanty town that keeps to themselves; you do NOT want to enter for any reason!). Buzz the gated door facing the ocean and go up the stairs to a magical experience! Other than difficulty finding it initially, THAT is THE ONLY negative! To fairly represent, I was traveling with my college roommate/nurse and she had a difficult time appreciating the "character"; she could only see the "old"; BUT she was physically unable to climb all the steps to fully explore so she missed a lot. (No elevator, so be prepared for lots of cool quirky stairs!) Just wished we stayed for 2 nights prior to our cruise!

Pros: Location, location, location! Great location. Well kept little boutique hotel. Clean.

Cons: Not many rooms have windows, I didn't know this so I felt a bit claustrophobic once I got to my room. Also there's a $25 "surprise" charge after 9pm check in which was not listed when I first initially made the reservation. Supposedly this is the hotel's policy but they do not make you aware of it in any pre booking. Also the nighttime clerk at the reception desk needs to be more polite in his delivery in how he speaks to customers. Once I expressed my concern about the surprise charge he wasn't very nice nor helpful. Very disconnected and shrewd. Customer service goes a long way! Also the manager seems just the same which I can now understand how her team acts that way if she in fact also behaves that way towards customers. My encounter with her was over the phone when I was finally able to communicate with her after two non returned emails and one prior call I had made to her direct email and number regarding the extra charge I was forced to pay. Eventually I was able to get my money back but it was not a pleasant conversation and quite frankly it should of never had to take place as I mentioned before there were no mention of this "fee" if check in was part 9pm.

Pros: The staff was very respectful and hospitable. The location was great. The price was affordable and the town was beautiful. I would definitely come back.

Cons: The check in process is complicated and frustrating. It puts you off staying there. I messaged the property and got short and impolite responses before arriving. On the morning I arrived to leave bags, there was no response from the property for almost an hour. The receptionist scolded us for being 3 minutes early for check in despite the fact that it was 4 minutes after their very very specific check in time. No windows in the room. Uncomfortable mattress

Pros: Unique, step out in two old San Juan! We are easy people so it met our needs we like being in the middle of things so you give up a little luxury

Cons: The ceiling fan and attached light worked together. Both on or both off. No way to separate their functions. Air conditioning worked with a switch high on the wall. No regulation, either full blast or off. 2 towels and 1 washcloth. We went to the store and bought our own shower soap and shampoo.

Pros: Location and staff were great. Bed was comfortable. Furnishings were fine. Ok for the price paid.

Cons: Elevator was term per mental. Difficult to regulate hot and cold water in the shower.

Cons: Very old room and facilities. Very noisy air-conditioning. Could hear noises from other rooms and common areas. Didn't have a good rest.

Pros: The female attendant at the front desk was very helpful and friendly. Also very attentive.

Cons: Not enough towels in the room for two people. Also the bed pillows were small and smelled. Did not want to use them. Need to be badly replaced.

Cons: It is an old property but they can’t do anything about that. Elevator is also very old but we liked the historical feel to it! Really nothing we didn’t like.

Pros: Located in the middle of Old San Juan. Easy walk to most everything. Hotel was built in 1860, so it's not super modern. Most everything works, just a little slow sometimes. Staff is friendly and very helpful. Would stay again.

Cons: Wasn't disappointed in much, just understand going in that it's 155 years old.
