Pros: The hotel was beautiful and the rooms were very clean. The staff were all pleasant, professional and very helpful. The hotel is in a great location. It's a very short walk to great restaurants, shopping and Petco Park. I would definately stay here again.
Cons: Parking at the hotel was very expensive ($47 per day). The rooms were a little small for the cost of them and it would have been nice if there was a mini-fridge in them. There is also no "sundries" store, so if you want a drink or a snack there is no where to get that. We also called for room service and no one answered the phone.

Pros: The room is very nice and modern. The front desk staff were very nice. The shampoo and conditioner they provide smell amazing. And the fitness center was very nice.
Cons: The glass shower in the middle of the room is just plain weird. There are not a lot of people I want to see shower. It just feels intimate in a very out-of-place kind of way. My friend and I went out for the evening and came back for an nightcap at the bar. Much to our disappointment, they did 'last call' early, so we missed out on a final drink. It feels like a new hotel needs to create some consistency if it hopes to catch on. The hotel seems very focused on the pool and making the 'pool scene' a thing. The cabanas, the artfully arranged pillows, the champagne buckets. It felt like they were trying too hard to woo locals, as opposed to cater to hotel guests. And there were a lot of staff standing around talking to each other whenever I was in the lobby or at the front desk. I often felt like I, as the guest, was interrupting their work. :)

Cons: The only problem we had was with valet that we told the front desk and they forgot to tell the valet guys and 45 minutes later waiting for the car we approached the guys at the valet and they had no idea that we were waiting for the car. But it wasn’t their fault. They were very nice.

Cons: Too expensive for what you get plus we had maintenance problems with no apology from the hotel. When you're paying $380 a night this is unacceptable! There are other hotels within the same block, we will stay there next time and I suggest others do the same. I like nice things and don't mind paying for them but will not return to this Omni and will not recommend it!

Pros: Facilities were very well kept. Room was very nice, and looked out over the Bay Area. Great location to GasLamp Quarter, restaurants, and connects to Petco Park. Great proximity to the convention center. Staff was accommodating. Concierge and valet staff were very knowledgeable on good places to eat/see in San Diego and other surrounding vicinities such as La Jolla, Coronado, etc. Also, got a little discount on zoo tickets by purchasing them at the hotel.
Cons: Valet parking is a little steep. They charge $40.00/day. I agree they should charge for the service as its quicker and easier for someone to park your car and bring it to you, but $40.00/day is a little high. On the upside, you can use it as much as you want.

Pros: The decor was amazing throughout the hotel. The foyer/lobby was stunning along with the rooms. We stayed in the Harbor Tower on the 23rd floor. The view was spectacular. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The only problem we had was with our TV to where we couldn't order movies one night. The night manager gave us a $100 credit which was very satisfactory. I would definitely stay here again.
Cons: The food at the Market wasn't good. I had a turkey sandwich from the refrigerated section and the bread was very stale. My wife ordered a bagel with cream cheese and she could hardly bite into it.

Pros: The hotel motif is very modern. Clean and simple lines. Really liked the gym. Very well equipped and fairly clean. The people who use the equipment seem to be cleaning after themselves. I liked the cafe downstairs as they had what I would eat on my special diet. I booked a room with a view and we had a view of the bridge and the boat harbor. The hotel next door had major renovation so we entertained ourselves watching the workers walk around and move stuff around with equipment.
Cons: I know CA has water shortage but the sink water pressure was ridiculously low. So much so that the water temp would not reach warm. I ended up using the shower for brushing my teeth. The garage does not accomedate large cars which made it difficult to park the Suburban, not XL just normal size. There are some spots but the compact cars park there and 90% of the parking spots are really compact. The stairs in the parking structure need to be cleaned and aired out they have an intense urine smell. We like to take the stairs but kept with the elevator for that reason.

So why did you even say that sh*t in the first place? Total droid. Also, downtown San Diego is a dreary place indeed. Homelessness abounds. Pros: The historic hotel was clean and the staff was courteous. Rooms were a fair size and had all the amenities that I would want in a luxury hotel. The lobby was comfortable for getting caught up on email (and had a great cup of coffee in the morning). As mentioned in the title, I have never had such a comfortable bed and wish I could take it home with me.
Cons: The hotel cannot control this, but the area is filled with homeless and panhandlers that made it uncomfortable to walk to the Gaslamp district or Midway museum (it's worse on 4th Street). Next time we will likely stay close to the waterfront where the problem seems to be lessened.

Pros: Shelter Island is beautiful, the concert area in very nice, and the live music was pleasant. The room itself had a nice, large TV and new amenities. The shower had good pressure and the restroom was clean and large.
Cons: The bed was HORRIBLE. It was extremely loud and springy, and uncomfortable. There is a ridiculous $10 "resort fee" AND a $15 parking fee on top of that! The staff was generally okay, but the manager was unpleasant and unsympathetic: I had called ahead to try and see if we could check-in 2 hours early. The staff member was able to accommodate our early check-in by giving us a small upgrade in room (premier no-view to premier with view). I thanked the staff member and was very pleased. HOWEVER, once we got there on the day of our check-in we were attended by a manager who quickly informed us that she had not 'approved' the upgrade and therefore could not check-in for another hour. She also made sure to tell us that she knew we made our reservation online (something she apparently looked down on) and that there actually were several vacant rooms at the time we arrived, but would still have to wait an hour. That was downright rude.

Cons: There was a lack of organization. We were assigned occupied rooms twice. The final room assignment needed housekeeping before we could settle in. Cons: First of all, they try to hold $100 a night for possible incidentals but could not provide the correct paperwork stating that it was company policy so they use the tactic of trying to stall you out so they don't have to deal with you anymore. Second I didn't like the communication the front desk lacked, I didn't like that there was a pool but no Jacuzzi, I did not like that I had to pay $45 over night to park my car or the fact that all the parking circling the hotel was 2 hour metered parking starting at 8am. The valet service guys at times were more helpful then the front desk in curing any issues I had. This place is only for out of town business people. People with a company card who are looking to pay high for food and minimal fun.

Pros: The room was absolutely nothing special, a motel quality at best. There was no refrigerator, but they did provide a six ounce bottle of their brand water for two guest. We also had leaky shower faucet, I supposed designed for ambient noises to help us sleep. We paid $340 a night for the room, however internet was not included and upon arriving, discovered the parking described on the website, would cost us $47 per night. The city view described from our room, was a very tall adjacent building.

The hot water actually ran out when I took a shower, first time ever at a 4-star hotel. I absolutely loved how dog friendly the hotel is and how, compared to other comparable hotels, the one time charge was surprisingly low. It was lovely to be able to bring our two small dogs on our vacation.
Cons: The air conditioning seemed to be rather old and was positioned in the far left corner of the room in the wall. There was only one vent and only went down to 65°. Although that seems low, it felt more like 69° or 70°. For such a small room the air-conditioning still didn’t seem to do the job well. As far as the location it was suitably placed around areas of interest such as restaurants and bars. But it was also adjacent to a courthouse and jail. Although I did not feel unsafe in the least, it did mean we heard sirens all throughout the day and night. I think it would help to have double pained windows to minimize the noise. When seeing pictures online one of the biggest reasons we decided to book the hotel was the rooftop bar and restaurant. As our vacation was to celebrate my 34th birthday, we thought that that might be a great place to have a nice dinner. Unfortunately, we stayed at a time when they had odd hours and were not open much of the time we stayed which was disappointing. The parking was outrageous at $48 a night.

I called to make sure and once again the front desk staff had no idea... They said they don't send out text messages lol. Funny because I got one, and even showed it to her! Most of them have a hip vibe which for us old folks is fun and energizing. Our stay was short but pleasant and the staff was nice. I really have no complaints. Everything was clean and the quality of the amenities were good. Like a lot of hotels they have gone bare bones in the toiletries everything is liquid and pre stocked. As a woman though i find that like other hotels I miss things like a Shower cap and some of the other little things that used to be provided. Hard to imagine that would be big in the cost cutting department. Overall tho none of this would stop me from staying at another Kimpton.

Pros: Very classy, beautifully appointed hotel. Staff helpful, polite and wanted our stay to be as comfortable as possible. Our room was lovely and the turn down service was appreciated - especially the music playing and the low lighting when we returned in the evening. I agree the C street side of building a bit noisy, but would not deter me from staying there again when we are in San Diego. The valet was very prompt to deliver our car and 2 young men helped us with our luggage. We had room service breakfast.. Very, very good...Thank you for a lovely stay...

Pros: Location was perfect, service was exceptional. David, who was on the front desk when we arrived, was outstanding. He gave us great recommendations for restaurants and other activities in the hotel and the surrounding area. Housekeeping was outstanding, with turndown, chocolates, And room set up with lighting and mood music upon return at the end of our days out. Concierge was very helpful with information and ticketing for tours. Great pool area on third story patio deck. One of the best hotel experiences we have had! We recommend it highly.

Cons: Our room was not well cleaned from previous stays. We encountered the following: 1. Old pack of cigarettes in the closet 2. Large stain on one of the robes 3. Opened and half consumed water in the mini fridge (as a part of the $15 resort fee you receive 4 free water bottles in the mini fridge) 4. Dirty ice bucket containing a good amount of water/alcohol remains 5. Stepped on a very sharp furniture tack that must have come loose and was on the floor by my bed

Pros: As mentioned, the location is excellent for walking around Little Italy and the Gaslamp district. The staff are friendly and helpful. I like the showers as they are quite spacious and can function as a mini-tub. Overall it was a clean and comfortable environment.
Cons: The room was aligned with the light rail. Every time a train left the adjacent station, the conductor tested the horn. It was too much noise for the hotel not to give us a heads up. Two stars for this "oversight".

Cons: Absolutely terrible. We paid for a skyline suite. The room shared, SHARED windows with the pool area. Three feet from the king bed were massive windows from the pool area. People knocking on the windows, clean-up crew spraying a hose on the windows at 3am. Tons of foot traffic right outside of our room next to the pool. Upon check-in, we were not told there would be an event at the pool from 4pm until 3am!!! Bad move Palomar staff. Bad move. Never stay here again. Absolutely disappointing and ridiculous. Too bad. We have had positive experiences at the Palomar in Phoenix. Not San Diego.

Pros: Hotel was clean. Staff was very friendly. The decor was modern and neat. Location was convenient. I made a special request (wanted a photo to be displayed in the room) when making the reservation and the staff did an excellent job with my request.
Cons: We asked for a room with a view, but our view was terrible. We were very disappointed with this. The room was also much, much smaller than I would've expected. I've stayed in tons of hotels and have never had a room so tiny. The shower looked cool in theory but in reality because there was no door, water leaked out onto the floor. The bathroom door, too- cool in theory, but if you value your privacy, it's not for you- it slides shut but doesn't actually close, so you won't have total privacy in there. Valet is $40 a night. Attached restaurant (Saltbox) had decent food but VERY slow service. Overall, not a bad place to stay, but we found that what we experienced definitely did NOT warrant the price tag that accompanies a stay at this hotel. Next time we visit, we will be staying elsewhere.

Pros: Best hotel staff I have interacted with in a while. Very very helpful and easy to work with . Justin was awesome! Also enjoyed: the Apartment style hominess was comforting and the boutique style added some flare. Nice that pool was heated, cable TV, good location for downtown. I would visit again.
Cons: Not-so-Hot: the shower got too hot, or too cold.... Room was very small and not laid out in a way to take advantage of best space possible. Pool was so small and NO JACUZZI. And no views.... No docking station for iPhone 5 or USB outlets

Cons: Last two nights there, the lobby smelled like a stadium bathroom, staff was not helpful upon checking in, the front door to the hotel has to be the most awkward door I have ever seen on a hotel. Also, instead of having an actual door on the bathroom, they have a sliding glass door. Just a word of warning, if you have a knock at the door and someone is in the shower be sure to pull the door closed because you can see straight into the shower from the entryway. That is poor planning and inexperience. I would not stay here again nor recommend to anyone.

Pros: The atmosphere was upscale and classy, felt great staying at a great hotel. Room service was a little steep (typical...) but the food was delicious - the staff recommended some foods that were spot on. Room decor was great, modern and classy. Hardwood floors made it feel a little upscale.
Cons: The bathroom is just a total mess. Shower head position is too low for anyone 5'5" or taller - requiring you to use the head manually (why???). Bathroom door is a sliding door but doesn't exactly provide too much privacy since you can see through the cracks - perfect angle if you want to watch your friend on the toilet... Iron was awful - took way too long and was just cheap overall or needed replacing. Cleanliness was awkward - arrived at the hotel (6pm) and was told our room needs to be cleaned. We arrived in the room, saw the hardwood floors were soaking wet (slipping lawsuit anyone?) and found residual items from the previous guests. Would be nice to upgrade those 2003 radios to the new iphone 5 or usb players...

Pros: Booked a room, had a reservaton number, was very impressed with the appearance of the building, and then I got to check in...they found my reservation which was with a group of friends and all of our rooms were next to each other. Then I was told that at due to construction, they didn't have my room and could send me to their sister location, the us grant (not my style). All of my friends, even the ones who checked in after me got their rooms, right next to each other. I was sent a block away with my reservation and a $70 increase in price for a room that didn't even have the requested layout and then wanted to charge me for Internet in my room. The hotel loomed nice but this experience was not acceptable. Think twice before booking.

Cons: Staff was rude, the room was very small. Pool was closed for a wedding on Saturday, they told us we could walk six blocks to their sister hotel to swim, not interested. Wedding party was loud, disruptive. When we spoke to the manager to express our concern his response was "NO, the noise is not coming from the wedding party on the 4th floor." We called Kempton Hotels to express our concern, they said a manager would call us back. We did not ever receive a call back. We will not be staying at a Kempton Hotel in the future

Cons: Many user experience design issues. Rain shower is hard to wash hair in, no ability to angle it at all. No tub and nothing to prop up for to shave legs. No door on shower. Door on bathroom was not a real door and didn't close all the way. Awkward! Certainly not romantic!! Not enough hooks to hang towels. Not enough towels, only gave us 3 for two people. Hairdryer was super cheap, would expect at least a normal one if not a nice one. Nowhere to plug in anything at the desk. Front desk staff seemed very forced/rushed.

Pros: Our room was a decent size and clean. The bathroom is also a good size with a nice rainfall showerhead. Room service prices were reasonable. Pet-friendly room that came with a dog bed and bowls. Complimentary wine hour in the evenings and coffee in the AM.
Cons: We ordered room service a several times during our stay and every order always came missing something and/or would have a wrong item and it would take a while to correct the order. TV is small. No designated pet area. In a seedy part of downtown.

Pros: The rooms were clean. The location was fairly convenient - right across from the street from bay, nice view, easy walk to Little Italy, Seaport Village, and a few ships across the street to tour. Hornblower was also close. There was a park right across the street with a splash pad and playground - great for kids. The staff was very nice an helpful. Pool was clean and enjoyable. It was very nice to have a balcony and get fresh air in the room. The deli downstairs was very convenient. As was having Ruths Christ which had great happy hours.
Cons: I know the facility was previously a Holiday Inn - so it's not the higher-end Wyndham you may think of. While the overall cleanliness of the property was great, be aware that there are 3 "towers" and you may be a short walk from the lobby. The overall property is not all fenced off, but the hotel does have safety features. The outside isn't that wonderful, but it's do-able.

Cons: The hotel room was very underwhelming for the price point. The bathrooms were outdated and not the cleanest. We had asked the cleaning staff to come back later on our first day and they didn’t until our 3rd day being there, which was rather disappointing. The outdoor pool is beautiful, but isn’t heated so that was another let down.

Pros: The hotel had an excellent location right along the bay. It was close to many attractions and restaurants. There was nothing wrong with this hotel, it was just very average. I would say it met expectations, but did not exceed. Rooms were a decent size, beds were comfortable. We could have benefited from a room with a better view; we couldn't enjoy our balcony because we were right above the air conditioning unit which was very loud.

Pros: The location is AMAZING, I highly recommend it. When we first arrived I was disappointed by the outside of the building (it looks very dated) but the interior was GREAT and the room was extremely comfortable. One of the best beds I have slept in at a hotel!

Cons: I paid extra for a king-sized room with a "bay-side view" but we were put on the second floor and the only thing outside of our window was the roof of the carport. We could hear the valets every single night and morning and could not see the bay from the second story. The website had a photo of a tall Wyndham with promising blue views but we were put in the 4 story part of the hotel with no view. Disappointing. Also, we came back one evening to sheets that had definitely not been clean as a stain from the night before was still in the sheets and sand was tucked in and made into the bed.

Cons: When we arrived the valet and self parking was full. The hotel would take no more cars. We were forced to leave and come back several hours later. When we returned parking was still full. When we finally checked the hotel was over booked and our room (which was already paid) was no longer available. After an hour of speaking with management we were given a small parlor room with three roll-a-ways. Beds were very uncomfortable. The experience was horrible. And the only thing the hotel provided us for our inconvenience was a comp breakfast. Nothing additional, no discount or credit. I would never recommend this hotel.

Pros: the hotel is only minutes front eh airport. it is right along the waterfront, which is beautiful. The city views are also delightful. Very close to the train which provides easy transport to downtown. The staff was friendly and helpful. Close to many attractions. Convient to all the city opportunities. It worked out great for my baseball stay. Helpful concierge. Close to restaurants. I would stay there again.

Pros: The hotel was clean and was in a great location. We ran the San Diego Marathon and you couldn't get closer to the end of the race. The room was nice and big. It was mostly enjoyable.
Cons: The pool and facilities seem a little dated and maybe need some freshening up. The rooms in the tower we were in (Tower III) could all be interconnected. The room next to us had very young children and we could hear every last thing they said through the adjoining door. Not really the kids' fault per se, but something to be aware of if you are looking for a relaxing getaway. Parking at the hotel was kind of a pain.
