Great place to stay
The hotel was beautiful and the rooms were very clean. The staff were all pleasant, professional and very helpful. The hotel is in a great location. It's a very short walk to great restaurants, shopping and Petco Park. I would definately stay here again.
Parking at the hotel was very expensive ($47 per day). The rooms were a little small for the cost of them and it would have been nice if there was a mini-fridge in them. There is also no "sundries" store, so if you want a drink or a snack there is no where to get that. We also called for room service and no one answered the phone.
Good concept; poor execution
The room is very nice and modern. The front desk staff were very nice. The shampoo and conditioner they provide smell amazing. And the fitness center was very nice.
The glass shower in the middle of the room is just plain weird. There are not a lot of people I want to see shower. It just feels intimate in a very out-of-place kind of way. My friend and I went out for the evening and came back for an nightcap at the bar. Much to our disappointment, they did 'last call' early, so we missed out on a final drink. It feels like a new hotel needs to create some consistency if it hopes to catch on. The hotel seems very focused on the pool and making the 'pool scene' a thing. The cabanas, the artfully arranged pillows, the champagne buckets. It felt like they were trying too hard to woo locals, as opposed to cater to hotel guests. And there were a lot of staff standing around talking to each other whenever I was in the lobby or at the front desk. I often felt like I, as the guest, was interrupting their work. :)
