Pros: The staff is exceptional; kind, friendly, engaging and exceed our expectations every time! The grounds are kept pristine with the peacefulness you seek while getting away from the hustle and bustle. The ducks, parrots and koi fish make you feel like you're on a tropical island. The food, variety of things to do and the river boat are all unique touches that make us look forward to our next visit before we've even left! Not to mention best pool, Jacuzzi and spa we've ever found!
If you haven't been there before, you simply MUST experience The Catamaran! Plus, centrally located to many San Diego hot spots!

Our family had a wonderful time there. My daughter won't stop talking like a parrot after being fascinated with the birds. Great restaurant also.

Pros: Great value for the money! Lots of local activities to do on the property, and wonderful accommodations throughout. It's a great place to try Stand Up Paddle Boarding for your first time! Rooms are spacious if you get the suite, and we really loved the grounds! It's a tropical paradise! Well maintained! The restaurants are pretty good, we would recommend the Sunday brunch at Oceana! Also, take advantage of the Bahia Belle cruise in the evening hours.

Cons: The AC went out in our building they were not able to give us a different room. My 2 month old baby ended up with a heat rash it was terrible. Then the soap dish was covered in hair as the last customer shaved and tiny hairs were all over our soap. The humidity without an AC was unbearable. We paid way too much for what we got. Hotel did nothing about any of this.

Cons: Unfortunately, when you make a late night request, the staff doesn't come up to your room and bring you whatever you need. Aka, we needed some late night towels and we were told to come down to the front desk (all the way from the tower rooms) and get them ourselves. This has never happened to me, especially at a "4-star" resort. In addition, I have been to many spas in my lifetime, and I felt that their spa treatment was very overpriced for the quality of massage received. Overall, we can't decide if we would come back because the positives were so great, and the negatives were so bad! We are 50/50.

Cons: Only complaint is that the "partial ocean view" really doesn't have an ocean view at all. I had to go out on my balcony...stand...and turn to the left to see ocean. If you're sitting you don't see anything. If you look straight ahead you have a lovely view of the public bathrooms.

Pros: Our 1st rm was in back on top and view of bay was Beautiful. Rm was big n very clean. Our 2nd night we got moved to even better rm at private beach bcuz we had issue w/ next door neighbors. That was special surprise that hotel gave us not only was rm gorgeous but workers even put Happy Anniversary card n tray of choc strawberries platter. Thx front desk workers Kevin, Cynthia, Jason, Devon, Jacob, Majso and manager who made our special weekend the Best Anniversary Getaway Ever. on Jan 27-29th weekend!!! We are Definitely coming back for our Anniversary again here.. drive or walking distance area is a plus. Again Thank You Bahia Hotel for unforgettable weekend!!

Cons: I Dnt really have anything to say about the workers or Rooms!!! Beautiful Spot. Only problem we had was we were there for Anniversary and we Dnt get out much bcuz of our big family. I believe the hotel just made over sight but they put us next to couple w kids. let just say we needed to move w/o any more problems come about. We let the front desk know of situation and they were very polite and rush our 2nd rm. I believe everyone got a win win out of it!!

Cons: It's not very clear when check-out is, we went back to make sure we didn't miss any items and we were already checked out and housekeeping threw out everything. We did get two free beverage vouchers, but probably won't be back before expiration. Our window faced the pool and it was really loud in the morning, but fine for one night.

Cons: You do get hit with an excessive parking fee, which I find weird since the hotel owns the whole area. The rooms could use a little bit more TLC (better cleaning, spiderwebs, and bugs in room). Our outside chairs were beyond filthy, sitting in them would have left our clothes stained in dirt/filth. Beds were okay comfort wise. Any issues brought up to the staff was quickly and generously remedied.

The one night we went to the hot tub it had way too much chlorine in it. When we kicked the jets on it was burning our eyes.
Both the AC and the fridge were extremely loud. I had to leave the AC off and unplug the fridge to fall asleep.
A lot of extra fees even after booking a total cost package. Those fees were over $100 in"resort fees" and then parking fees on top if that.
All in all, I would rather have stayed elsewhere considering what we did on the trip.

They gave us a complimentary upgrade to a bay view room, the morning staff sent us roses, teddy bears, robes, sandals and two cards saying happy anniversary. I've never felt this special in any hotel. Definitely will come back! !!

Cons: there was signage at the entry that the resort is celebrating 50 years. It looks every bit like that. The carpets were in bad shape, there was a moldy musty stench in all rooms that was very hard to adjust to. There were moths in the room which is something I haven't seen very often in any hotel. No fan in the bathroom. Definitely the worst Hiton I've stayed at and not worth the money.

Cons: I found dirt and bugs (flies) in my food while eating by the pool area and the people at frescas said it was seasoning and the dirt was olive pulp. I know the difference and the was mad I was eating and feeding my one year old. I still had to pay for my food.

One of the people at the front desk never sent up the towels I asked for And the food was nothing I couldn't make. Not gonna lie I was WAY disappointed.

Cons: the room was not well maintained the tub has some kind of paint over it and there was a massive chip out of it. I complained to the front desk, who would not let me speak to a manager. Therefore nothing was done to improve my situation and I have little faith that the overall issue of poor maintenance was addressed. this was in the "suites" section. I actually wanted to be in the tower and they moved us to these and said there were no rooms in the tower. So be sure to emphasize what room type you want.
