Pros: The hotel is fantastic, staff is very friendly and welcoming and I loved the area! The food was incredibly good, We had dinner at Tereze and we LOVED it. Breakfast is also insanely good.

Cons: Our room had a communicating door and unfortunately we could hear the other guests talking next door. Room was also not completely dark in the morning as my partner and I like.

Pros: Great pool and bar. Wonderful restaurant for evening dinner (one of best of our trip in Brazil) Excellent room and breakfast

Pros: The hotel is beautiful, the location is extremely interesting. The accompanying resturaunt is wonderful for breakfast and meals. The staff were extremely helpful. Alex and Aroldo were excellent staff for breakfast. The pool was great and the area not too crowded. There were monkeys in the trees and they came came to you. This place was very special and we will stay here next time were in Rio.

Cons: The hot tub was either too hot (for every guest that tried) too cold for most or the water was too shallow. Room service was forgotten once. Not enough plug sockets, especially if you wanted to plug a laptop in to work.

Cons: The atmosphere was excellent, stuff was wonderful. We are really happy and would definitely recommend to our friends and family!

Cons: Checkout and checkin was really slow. They tried to add a service fee even though booking.com said it was included. They should inform before about the fee. But they removed it after I asked what it was.

Cons: We queued for an hour to check in and our room wasn’t ready until 3pm, which is fine , reception had taken a copy of my passport and I filled out all the information for check in. We were told to come back at 3pm to collect our key. I went back to reception at 3 and the queue was 15 people long, so I went away again and returned at 4pm, big queue again! I spoke to a really lady on reception and said I have come to collect my key and she said I need to join the end of the queue which I did for 10 minutes with nothing Moving so I went back to her and told her I’ll already checked in and just need my key! She was not happy and went away out of sight and sent someone else out to speak to me who said I must go to the end of the queue! I refused and asked for my key again! He disappeared and then sent out someone else! I finally got someone to give me the key but obviously by this time I wasn’t happy, everyone in the queue were getting very frustrated with the check in process, I’ve never seen anything Like it, all the staff on reception were miserable and moody the same as the frustrated guests! Apart from a poor man who had just started that day and still had a smile on his face! The rooms on booking,com look lovely with the old style but there is a big block of plain modern rooms which we were put in, nice basic room like a premier inn! But not what we thought we had booked, we like to stay in traditional style places. We checked out at 4am in the morning so we were the only ones checking out and the bill had buffets, taxes, water(things that we didn’t have) and that took 15 minutes to check out, god knows how long it would of took if there had been other people there! Would never use this hotel again because of this terrible experience!

Pros: The hotel is an oasis in the midst of the chaos of a huge city. The rooms are spacious, the lighting excellent. I really liked the shower and bath amenities. The whole hotel was very clean and neat. The pool area looked very inviting. The staff are very polite and helpful.

Cons: We heard the neighbors partying all night long. We had to get up at 3AM for a flight, so it was totally disturbing.

Pros: This is a great hotel, but it is not a 5 star hotel and that is a good thing ! It still has personality, its little Brazilian in attitude, things sometimes happen slowly and the staff don't always understand you first time (But im speaking English in a portrugese speaking country so consider that my problem not there's! Go for a superior room if you can its a little etc but much nicer than the newer "apartments" your air conditioning may be a little flaky, it may take a while to checkin. But its well worth it, is great value for money, great location and the swimming pool is open till 10, and a lovely way to chill after the heat of the day! Ive stayed in this hotel every time I need a hotel near papa or am going out centrally. Its not perfect, but its very good and great value, great location, for lapa, safe and secure !

Pros: Nice and big breakfast, lots of everything to choose. The hotel itself is lovely, like a little oasis in the middle of the city. Walking distance to the famous stair Escadaria Selaron and the train through Santa Teresa. Would definitively come here again, wish we had a couple more days at this place.

Pros: We use this hotel, when we are going out for the night in the Party District. On this occasion we are travelling with our two 6 months olds and their nanny. If you are a family with children then the best rooms are 20 to 32 on the ground floor! And right by the pool. Get 30 and 32 are opposite each oner as are all the equal numbers! Most rooms have a single sofa bed, so thats useful for families. This hotel has a lot of character and is the perfect location and normally great value for money. I highly recommend it.

Cons: Check Ibn can be a bit slow, and service can be slow, but thats normal and not a major problem at all.

Pros: Arrived at 0900 but hotel staff was kind to prepare our room around 10:00-11:00 (checking is 14:00). Good breakfast, many things to choose.

Cons: There was small problem with breakfast included, which at the counter was "not included". once i had shown my reservation details it was solved eventually.

Pros: A nice area close to metro and easy to get to. Nice breakfast. Very friendly staff. Room was value for money. Nice to have a pool above the street sounds of zona sul. Great for visiting Corcovado.

Cons: Not much of a choice of restaurants in the area. Everything else was fine.

Pros: The breakfast is increadible (super!) as well as the pool roof terrasse. the family room is good value for money. there were serveral families and we felt welcome with the children. in general, it seemed more like a conference hotel. right next to the metro and the gardens of the palace.

Cons: Our room had a wet stain on the ceiling and bsthroom ventilation was weak. the hotel applies a 10% service fee on top of the bookings advertised price but they tell you that you can not pay if you didnt like the service. just be prepared.

Pros: Good location, we could even walk to places we wanted to visit. Very good breakfast. Helpful stuff.

Pros: We had a great stay at America’s Granada hotel. Fantastic location, super close to the Lapa bars and restaurants but also far enough away from the noise. Excellent buffet breakfast, comfortable beds, friendly staff and a great rooftop pool area. Very good value for money.

Cons: The only downfall was that we asked to store our suitcases for a couple of days while we traveled to Florianópolis with a smaller pack. We intended to come back and stay one more night after Flora. We were told they were unable to store our bags for longer than 24hours so had to book elsewhere for our return. Everything else was wonderful though, thank you!

Pros: Breakfast was ok. Location was bad,, You could smell urine from outside in the reception area. Looked always busy with buses coming in and out with visitors. The area outside was dodgy with beggars sleeping in the street, urine and defacating as well. Staff friendly

Pros: Take a look at the Mercure Hotel In Sao Paulo and get some tips on how to better run the hotel. The infrastructure is there improve upon it.

Cons: This is a badly run hotel, the entrance is constantly dirty, the front desk are not the most helpful and do not tell you how the rooms work and what the lights outside the rooms stand for. We stayed they for 4 or 5 days and the room was only cleaned once on the first day. I as a guest had to sweep and make the bed. We had to call for towels. The towels have a funny smell.. The pool is a far from the pics displayed. The water smells and the side walls of the pool are dirty. The bar at the pool is run with a cooler box with limited stuff in it. SAD.. We can not leave our homes with swimming pools and bathrooms for mediocre services like the Granada Hotel. Who ever rated this hotel 8.5 should be stripped of their title.. DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL TO ANYONE.

Pros: I felt that the price was very fair for being Rio. The room and everything was very well kept. The staff was friendly, and the hotel is in a good location/proximity to many of the sites in Rio.

Pros: We had a great time at Arosa Rio Hotel. We were there for the New Year’s Eve and the our last day was the 31 December. The staff kept our luggages until the 1st January and allowed us to get ready for the NYE although we didn’t have a room anymore. Our room was very clean and the bed comfortable. The hotel is well located and is closed to Santa Teresa, one of the coolest neighbourhood in Rio de Janeiro.

Pros: The room we stayed in was gigantic and very beautiful, breakfast was not bad.

Cons: The staff was quite rude, always looking up to you and seemed bothered by every request or question. Our room card didn't work half of the times, location is quite bad: plenty of homeless people sleeping in front of the hotel and the general feeling of the area is of a quite dangerous place. It was ok because we didn't expect much, but I wouldn't honestly go back.

Pros: The hotel is in the city center close to everything, although the neighborhood may seem unsafe, it isn't. The room was super clean, the bed really confortable and the receptionists always ready to help. The breakfast offered lots of choice (cereals, bread, cakes, coffee, tea, juice, milk, eggs, fruit, etc) so that everyone can be satisfied.
