Rio de Janeiro hotels near Cinelândia

Pros: Staff was excellent tried their best to cope with my preferences. The hotel is at the heart of Rio, close to restaurants, coffee shops and amenities.

Cons: TV channels were mostly in Portuguese, not very convenient for English speaking travelers like me. The breakfast buffet may need more varieties, especially in hot selections.

Cons: on the menu, a bottle of water costs 4 $B but at check out we were charged 8 for each water.

Pros: The hotel is an oasis in the midst of the chaos of a huge city. The rooms are spacious, the lighting excellent. I really liked the shower and bath amenities. The whole hotel was very clean and neat. The pool area looked very inviting. The staff are very polite and helpful.

Cons: We heard the neighbors partying all night long. We had to get up at 3AM for a flight, so it was totally disturbing.

Pros: Beds have a good quality

Cons: Checkin took 30 minutes. Check out took 40 minutes. Restaurant bad.

Pros: The bathroom in the suites is fantastic. The rooms are very clean. Great location. Staff were very nice and helpful. The security at the entrance was reassuring despite never feeling in danger at all.(nice area) The omelette chef at breakfast was fantastic. The extra large bed was comfortable. The entire hotel was very clean. Very pretty hotel. Easy to find / locate. 5 minute walk from the popular busy area of Lapa and the Selaron Steps. Good value for money over all.

Cons: Wifi was very poor. No iron and ironing board available to guests (had to pay) Laundry service was expensive Breakfast offered limited options if staying here longer than 2 nights. Room service was served cold and only sandwiches are available 24 hours.

Pros: Very good location for those who appreciate a very close proximity to SDU airport (two minutes walk). Very clean, comfortable room. Safety box available in the room. Great breakfast - served from 4-10AM (simply perfect for an early bird / early departures) at the top deck, indoor and outdoor seating available. Attentive and helpful staff. Fantastic views from top deck, small perhaps great swimming pool and sitting area. Lot of shops, restaurants around. UBER taxi lot nearly in front of the main entrance. Just simply super and functional.

Cons: Could be great to have coffee maker in the room.

Cons: Lack of maintenance. Air conditioning with problem, shower tap loose, work desk lamp loose, toilet cover loose. The air conditioning was crazy. Very bad service. I complained several times. At the end, I had to live with an intermittent air conditioning.

Pros: I had a great time at the hotel! The staff was very friendly and the view on the rooftop was absolutely amazing. The breakfast was really good and the options for dinner were great (there are even different restaurants around the place). I will definitely recommend this place!

Pros: Hotel was clean and comfortable, bed and bathroom were good, staff are very friendly and helpful. Food is very good, and located very conveniently near the domestic airport.

Cons: room was quite a bit smaller than we had expected. During my second stay there appeared to be some sort of festival with extremely loud music all through the night, though obviously you can hardly blame the hotel for that.

Pros: Great option for a short stay or a business trip in Rio. Personnel was friendly and helpful. Special thanks for Dilma and Thiago at the reception. The room has a modern boutique concept with confy bed. Nice view from my room on the third floor facing the Guanabara Bay, Sugar Loaf and the Corcovado statue at the hill top. Pleasant breakfast experience at the Roof top where the swimming pool is located. Will return on my next stay in Rio.

Cons: However, I am disabled and your accessibility is terrible. No bars in the shower, front entrance was terrible for me, including the garage entrance. Nobody offered me the use of the wheelchair. I didn't even know there was one available until the day of my check-out.

Pros: Good location in the center of the city. There are many bars with parties and restaurants near the hotel. The view at the roof with swimming pool is cool. Good and friendly stuff, but not all of them speak English

Cons: We stayed here from Friday till Sunday and at the night was impossible to sleep. To much noise from the street from bars even at 9th floor. We also were on party, but at 4-5 am at the morning you wish a silent and want to sleep. Hotel pretty popular and was full and they can’t change room for us. First impression about breakfast is great it seems like you have a big choice. But there are mane different types of bread, bullets, cupcakes, cakes and other baking - I don’t like it. There are know fresh vegetables and looks like it’s pretty common behavior for Brazil as I have stayed at some different hotels in different cities. You can eat only cheese and meat cutting with omelet, fruits and dry mixes. Juices were two sweet

Pros: If you like to go out and have bars, restaurants and clubs in walking distance it's a plus. If you want to sleep and relax it's a minus. Brazilians like to have party the whole night :-) I liked this party life much. Close to Santa Theresa, metro, beach. Perfectly located! Rooms are very spacy. Stuff very helpful and friendly. I travel a lot and compared to the price (35€ incl. Breakfast) I never had a better hotel..

Pros: We loved the size of the room. The double bed was super comfy. Friendly staff.

Cons: The cleanliness of the restaurant was fine. To be honest we did not like the breakfast at Granada Hotel. The selection of food was poor and the quality of the food and drinks was not so great. They could have done it better. Our hotel room was on the front facing a really noisy street and for this reason we received just lack of sleep in there throughout our stay. The receptionist tried to offer for us an other room but unfortunately, the place was fully booked.

Pros: I felt that the price was very fair for being Rio. The room and everything was very well kept. The staff was friendly, and the hotel is in a good location/proximity to many of the sites in Rio.

Pros: Great location in Lapa, close to the city center and Santa Teresa. Great choice for breakfast.

Cons: The window on the right was brocken and didn't lock so we could hear all the noise from the street at night. The lamp and the electrical outlet on the right side of bed were out of order. We mentionned it upon our arrival but no action was taken during our stay. One of the three lights wasn't working in the bathroom, very poor light for makeup.

Cons: Staff service in check in, I asked to give me higher floor but he did not tried to find an opportunity to changed the offered third floor. the cleanliness of the room and the bathroom, towels as well, It was impossible to open the window as the street was very noise and also it was impossible to use the conditioner as it worked very loudly as well.

Cons: In the photos it looked so good, and when we got there, nothing Like it. We were catfished.

Pros: Very good location in Lapa, with a lot of bars and restaurants in the near. Not dangerous, also in the nights. A lot of street bars and parties at the weekend. Hotel was good enough. Comfortable room and good Wi-Fi.

Cons: Staff in the hotel could be more friendly. Portuguese only. On the first day my friends picked me up from the hotel to go to the city. They came at first to my room for some minutes. Hotel has charged additional cost for this visit (according to the house rules 70 R$ per person). It was not OK but the personal on the reception didn't want to discuss. Hotel room wasn't clean enough.

Pros: Close to airport.

Cons: Internet doesen't work in room.And walking around a bit scary.
