Pros: Nice breakfast with a broad enough buffet. The quality of food items was good.

Cons: The room was lacking in furniture. There were no bed side tables - nothing to place your phone and eyeglasses etc. Who can design such a fitting? The bed was spacious but the space after that was limited and it was somewhat difficult to move around. The room had windows to a neighboring building with a distance of less than 1 meter - no view at all. Ventilation was not effective, everything was rather damp.

Pros: Wonderful design with great views of Rio

Cons: The "floor lights" light up even without getting out of bed.

Pros: Wonderful stay! The staff is perfect - extremely considerate. Unfortunately the weather didn’t let us enjoy the amazing rooftop.

Cons: Nothing! It’s an amazing place!

Pros: The hotel (rooms, facilities and reception) were all nice, very modern and well decorated. Room was a decent size and the rooftop bar and pool were a nice touch (when open). Staff were friendly although not all spoke English but you can get by. Good choice of food at breakfast, be careful though as some of the hot items were actually cold and hadn’t been kept hot. Good location in terms of walking to various sites. WiFi strong and works throughout the hotel. There’s a nice scent in the hotel lobby and reception, but it doesn’t extend to the rooms.

Cons: We stayed for 2 nights and the main reason for booking this hotel was for the rooftop bar and pool for the views over Sugarloaf and Christ the Redeemer. However, on both evenings we were there, there were weddings being held on the rooftop and so our access was limited. There were no pre warnings down in the hotel and instead we faced an awkward exchange with the bar staff up there who told us we had to leave as it was shut. We didn’t think too much of it as there’s a bar on the ground floor, however when we went downstairs, it was in complete darkness and we were told this was also closed. For the price you’re paying per night, this wasn’t good enough in my opinion. The “hot” items at breakfast were cold, both mornings we were there.

Pros: very stilish interior, close to Botafogo beach, very clean, very modern

Cons: roof bar unfortunately not open all day around

Pros: The view and the food. Both are just amazing. Also the rooftop is really nice with all the pool, private "beds" and view, but you could have that without having to stay. The beds are really comfortable, the hotel and bedroom is really clean (although a little small), everything always smells good and the whole experience overall was really good. I admit we just expected a little more from the price we payed, but I guess if you pay for the cheaper room it is indeed a great deal.

Cons: The hotel is supposed to be "international", but not all the staff speaks (good) english, so I had to be a translator for my husband's family very often. Because half of the explanation was in english, a few things got lost and they were a little confused a few times. We also had to ask for the staff to go clean our bedroom, because it was past 11AM and our beds weren't done yet and we had an issue (our fault) with sand on the floor and even putting the sign asking for it to be clean, we had to order it at the reception. On our last day (Friday) there was a party at the rooftop. I guess you can't control that, specially because the Yoo2 Rooftop is really famous in Rio... But be aware that the bedrooms from the 6th floor and up are able to hear all the noise, so if you want to rest and sleep before midnight, you might not be able to. Not to mention that when my husband shared the elevator with a few (drunk) girls that were going to the rooftop (not hotel guests) he was slightly harassed. hahaha But again, that's not the hotel's fault, it's something you should be aware of bc it ends up being part of the whole experience. Personal note: I was a little upset with the fact that me and my husband were on our honeymoon (and we told the hotel about that) but we didn't really get anything special, a chocolate in our bed or something (and we were booked for the 2nd best bedroom of the hotel, so I'd think there could be something to personalize our experience)... But the worse was: when we visited my in-laws bedroom, they got bonbons and treats. That was a little disappointing, considering that in the hotel we stayed before (in Paraty), they gave us complimentary champagne and little cakes upon our arrival and on this one we didn't get not even congrats, but our parents did "instead" of us.

Pros: Great hotel with comfy beds and nice staff.

Cons: I would not stay here for the first couple of days in Rio due to the location being a little far from restaurants and the main tourist attractions. You can get uber or taxi but you spend an extra 30mins plus your regular journey time sitting in traffic depending on the time of the day.

Pros: awesome breakfast, very friendly people, good location with an awesome view and very good caipirinha

Pros: Greatness. There is no other word which can express how Yoo2 is. Everything is so cool, from the room to the people, to the location, the rooftop view and service is great! Drinks are delicious! Food is 10/10. Breakfest is awesome. Please do yourself a favor and try the "Água de beber" drink. Be there!

Pros: Everything was wonderful, good breakfast, comfortable bed and the staff were excellent. Very friendly and a really nice place to stay.

Pros: Super lovely, quiet, peaceful little hostel tucked away from the hectic scene in Rio. After coming from a noisy, party-focussed hostel in Ipanema this was wonderful! Nice courtyard, good kitchen, and friendly staff. No problems with wifi! (Other reviews had mentions some?).

Cons: Not so good for meeting other travellers as is pretty quiet, but that’s what I was looking for on my last two nights in Brazil.

Pros: The room was clean and lovely.

Pros: We had an excellent stay at the Hospedaría Rio! The rooms are nicely decorated and designed. The breakfast is good. The people are very nice and helpful. We used Uber all the time as it was cheap / same price as metro. We’d love to stay longer!

Pros: The room was self contained with a fridge, microwave and bathroom, TV and AC were a bonus because it is a hostel. A nice breakfast was included too. Mario and the rest of the staff were friendly, helpful and helped in anyway they could including tour information and taxi back to the airport..

Cons: It could be a little clearer and our room had a window leading on to the corridor. The stairs to the lobby area are a bit steep which could be a problem to some...

Pros: 24 hour reception and security

Cons: Even though on the pictures there are windows with curtains, there are no windows facing outside, only the dark corridor. If I would have known this, I would not book this hotel.

Pros: Cheap hotel in a good location.

Cons: The room is small, the WiFi is not very good and the breakfast is lackluster. Good for a cheap stay, however.

Pros: Location! Virtually nearby everything.

Pros: If you want to stay in Botafogo and go to beach in the morning, you must stay here. And it nears Metro station, you can go around easily. The staff is very friendly and they can speak in English. I like the night reception. A man, and he treated me very well. Breakfast is simple but it's OK in hostel.

Cons: Well, for me, the most hateful thing is: WHY I CAN'T STAY HERE MORE DAYS ?! Thanks for Ace Suites Inn Rio, it's the best hostel in Botafogo.

Cons: The airco does not work, the window can not close and the room was really dirty!

Pros: Everything was ok. I felt very confortable even though I stayed in an 8 people dorm. It had a private bathroom, which was very handy. The room was kept tidy at all times by the cleaning ladies. I felt very secure, the neighborhood is very peaceful yet close to all the major touristic attractions. The staff was very nice and helpful.

Cons: We stayed in the 8 bed mixed dorm to begin with on the first floor and the wifi was pretty bad, kept dropping off. Spent one night in a private room and wifi was much better Double bed was awful in the private room, overall room is extremely rough and shower cold, had to end up using the shared showers, lots of noise from the street, for the price difference it is definitely not worth it No toiletries or towels provided in any rooms but this is clearly stated in email prior to arriving Guy at reception didn't say much in any interactions we had with him, he was perfectly polite but just didn't ask us what we planning to do while staying or offer any information and that was the kind of expectation I had from the reviews I had read about them being so helpful

Pros: It's cheap, it has room only for women with bathroom inside, the location is excellent, secure, the bedsheet are clean, the view is amazing, the beds are good and comfy.

Cons: The staff doesn't care really much about you and expect you do everything alone, no privacy at all not by the staff and not by the other guests, the air conditioning doesn't seem to be clean very oftem, the bathroom trashcans were break, the breakfast was served only for 2 hours and starts at 8 A.M. (if you're working you probably never going to get this breakfast).

Pros: I really liked the way they make other guests talk to each other, interact with each other. They organize free tours, like hikes or local bars, and some of the staff go along. The happy hour is really cool as well: tons of beers and caipirinhas. Good TV room also. Wifi is way better than what you typically get in Brazil.

Cons: Happy hour 24/7 would be awesome

Cons: The staff need a pot of training and sympathy, they are so unfriendly and unprofessional. Other than this the location is perfect close to everything.

Pros: The breakfast is very good, but I've tasted other Ibis Budget's breakfast and it was a better experience. Because of the variety of breads, cheeses and deserts. But, because of the low price, it's a good option to be quick and get satisfied.

Cons: You could improve the privacy of the bathrooms.

Cons: they offer hair dryer and ironing facility. It's good, but it'd be better if you could borrow and take it to the room, like other hotels do. Also the shower place was really full of flies.

Cons: Some other guest of the hotel entered my room with the key card. My luck is that I was there and then he apologized and went back to double-check his correct room number and change the key card. The location is not far from the bus/subway station (600 m), but there's nothing around it. Although the hotel is pretty new (started 2 years ago), the window locker was broken. The breakfast was simple with just one choice of fruit, cheese and ham.
