10.0 Excellent
Pros: The owner was so kind and friendly! I loved all the details. The breakfast, the room, the house, the beautiful garden - everything was nearly perfect!
Cons: There is nothing that i didn‘t like. Only the bathroom was a little bit too small for me - but it wasn‘t negative. So thank you!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Amazing room and tradutional public bath.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Amazing staff. Beautiful backyard. Clean bathroom. Comfortable sturdy bed.
Cons: No view from room but it didn't matter to me because I was outside most of the time.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Third generation proprietor Hiroshi Sato greets every guest as they check-in. The ryokan is truly a hidden gem. A short cab ride from Nagoya Station and you are transported to an amazing property that captures many elements of a traditional Japanese ryokan and fuses these with Mr. Sato’s extraordinary sense of modern design. The room selection ranges from a shared dorm space for single or budget travelers to lavish suites for up to 4 persons. We stayed in one of the two fantastic suites. The room included a mini-frig, an upscale drip coffee machine, Villeroy & Boch mugs, and several drinking and wine glasses. Air conditioning could be controlled in-room. In a common area, all guests are invited to self-serve beautiful Japanese plates, additional glassware, and utensils. There is also a shared complimentary self-serve coffee and tea machine, as well as a number of amenities such as bath scrubbers and cosmetic kits. Two additional features standout. The property includes a traditional Japanese bath house, with separate areas for men and for women. Thought not large, the bath house offers a truly Japanese experience. Guests are provided use of wash cloths and towels, high-end POLA shampoo, conditioner, and body wash, Sekkisui facial cleansers and lotions, as well as hair dryers. Additional amenities free for the taking are Japanese tabi socks. Guests are encouraged to walk around the property in provided yukata, traditional Japanese resort wear. The final standout feature was the amazing meals prepared by Mr. Sato and his talented wife. Though not inexpensive, the specially prepared traditional dinner and Japanese breakfast are worth every penny for showcasing local delicacies. Upon checkout, Mr. Sato surprised us with parting gifts, home-baked mini-cookies and a snack bag of local items. He gave us a brief tour of his latest hospitality masterpiece, a new 4-person suite on the ground floor that includes a small Japanese garden feature in-room!
Cons: Nothing.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Unforgetable experience. The Host is very nice, the room and whole enviroment is quiet and in Japanes Style. This is exactly what we want.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The property and garden are well maintained. They have a bathhouse which was appreciated after a long day. Condition of the room was good with thoughtful touches.
Cons: Toilet/bathroom was on the small side.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: We did not purchase a meal plan. Our host was very helpful with excellent English. The property obviously is set up for "Non-Japanese" visitors and makes you feel very welcome. Beautiful central garden. Public bathing area was fine. Lots of brochures on local restaurants. Free coffee and tea 24 hours a day in the lobby. Very clean and well kept. We thought it was a good value if you want to stay in a very traditional setting.
Cons: Our experience was great. The walk from the central train station was a bit of a trek and the closest subway is a bit of a walk too.

The bath tub is surely a plus point to add to our excellent stay too! Location is good, just a station away from the Nagoya Station (Aonami Line - the direct line to the Legoland, too!).

Pros: Everything.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Very nice European style hotel, very neat. Nice room with some extras.
Cons: Very small room.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Stylish Hotel with a lovely atmosphere thanks to the bookstore/cafe in house. This theme even continues in the rooms. Beds were comfortable, personal was very helpful.
Cons: Breakfast options were very limited and a bit too fatty/sugary for our personal taste.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The trend of book hotels is on the rise and Lamplight does it exceptionally well since everything about it was designed to be an escape for bookworms. You arrive to a really cosy lobby and mini library of both Japanese and English books (Look on the upper shelves! That's where the English books are). In every room there is a comfortable chair and a leg rest for you to stretch out and dive into your favorite book. Guests are allowed to sit in the mini library and read any book they want or choose one book to bring back to their room. I recommend making a breakfast reservation at least once because the open face sandwiches in the cafe are delightful and delicious! Coffee is great too.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The room was beautiful - it was modern and clean. We only spent one night here but I would definitely stay again. The price was very reasonable considering how large the room was. When you check in they offer you toiletries including razors, etc.
Cons: The location was out of the way because we were using our JR pass for our travels. It was about 15 minutes walk to the station over uneven ground. This is something to consider if you have particularly heavy baggage.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: There was more room than I have had in a single room in similar Japanese hotels. Also the shower was excellent, with a moving large overhead rose and separate flexible showerhead. Good view over Shimozono park so nice to have trees outside the balcony.
Cons: After 17 days, the breakfast was a bit repetitive.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great staff, great location, great food.
Cons: The tables in the restaurant are ridiculously narrow. Anything more than two plates and two glasses and there’s a real danger of things falling off. This happened twice to other diners in one evening. Instead of trying to jam more people in, they should have tables big enough to eat on.
7.0 Good
Pros: Near to train station with underpass directly link to hotel
Cons: Room is rather dusty
9.3 Excellent
Pros: All Reception staffs are good manner, good service-mind.
Cons: They should prepared some lotion in room or in public bath area.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Good location and good bath
Cons: Maybe breakfast can be improved
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The location is convenient. The hotel and its room are modern-look. The best part that worth my greatest appraisal is that they installed 3 holders at different heights for the sprinkler head that could be used for different means (when washing feet, body and hair) so that you do not need to move your body to adjust the positioning!
Cons: The room setup is not too “functional” - not enough space for putting luggage and bags when arranging stuffs (when compared with other rooms of similar size)!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Facility is very nice and staff are extremely helpful and friendly. I have been in Japan almost for one month. I have stayed in one one of the most expensive hotel in Nagoya. 10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very convenient
Cons: Swimming pool need to charge
6.8 Good
Pros: Location
Cons: I chose Marriott because Nagoya Marriott has a decent size of pool. After i reserved a room through booking.com, I called Nagoya Marriott directly They told me they will charge 3250yen per person. Usually that type of amenity is included in price. I called Nagoya Hilton and Hilton said going to the Hilton pool is included in price if I am a customer. When I went to the pool, they told me kids can use the pool from 9:00am to 6:00pm but the same price as adults. Adults can use pool from 7:00am to 9:00pm. I have stayed 3 star , 4 star . 4.5 star and 5 star hotel in USA, China and Europe. No hotel charges use of hotels pool separate from lodging fees. I asked my friends and they also said that type of charge is ridiculous. Pool was excellent. Breakfast is 2500yen per person. It is not worth 2500yen per person . I have had many buffet in the past on Alaska , Europe ,Hawaii and Gulf sea cruise as well as Costa Rica and Mexico resorts. Nagoya Marriott buffet was one of the worst buffet in my experience. I was so disappointed. All workers were polite and trying to do the best they can. Yes. location is excellent and convenient.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Convenient site, toiletries are complete and expensive stuffs.
Cons: One can hear the railway trains and the upstairs noise
10.0 Excellent

10.0 Excellent
Pros: One of the best hostels I‘ve ever been to. So well thought through. You can tell that the owners have been traveling a lot themselves. Everything you possibly need is there. And the small bar downstairs, very nice to meet people. It’s very close to Nagoya Station and a few convenient stores around the corner. I will definitely come back!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I loved that the hostel also had a bar/cafe. considering I am a local of the coffee capital of the world, Melbourne, I feel I have the required background to state that they do amazing espresso here. A good quantity of Showers was great, never had a problem finding a free one when I planned to shower. It's a 5-10 minute walk from Nagoya station so close enough to get to everything but far enough that it's a nice and quiet area.

Pros: Room layout/size Cell phone to use in room Air conditioning controller could be switched to English language Public bath on site with great facilities Proximity to public transit Modern and clean Key card system Wifi had strong signal and was fast
Cons: Didn't understand why needed to pre-order food/that wasn't explained The soundproofing from hallway/door was poor so could really hear people going in and out of rooms or if they talked in hallway Public bath signage indicated issue with tattoos in the bath

9.3 Excellent
Pros: The choices of breakfast are really good. The location is in the heart of the city,
Cons: N/A
9.4 Excellent
Pros: The personnel were very helpful and also went out of their way to make everything right. The rooms were very clean and comfortable, and the junior suites are quite large by Japanese hotel standards, and well appointed. Efficient A/C with room controls is welcomed in the Japanese humid summers, and included breakfast is varied and high quality along with the serving staff.
Cons: I ONLY have two slight negatives. One is that the location isn't ideal for those using public transport. If one is hauling a couple suitcases, it's probably too far from the main train station to walk, and riding the subway one stop goes a bit too far and requires a few blocks walk back--the closest exit from the closest subway station is the farthest from the platform and requires climbing the stairs. The second slight negative is the price, it's a little high but then if you appreciate the service, cleanliness and size of the rooms, it's not bad.

9.5 Excellent
Pros: The location is very convenient when you travel by airport express train (less than 5 min walking distance)! The walking route is also straightforward (when compared to another Nagoya hotel where I stayed for the same trip that requires walking between 3 commercial buildings/ centres with a lot of secret turns)! The room setting has maximised it’s functional space so that we could handle our luggage and shopping stuffs at ease in its spacious room. There is a convenient store (Seven-Eleven) directly connected to the hotel at G/F so that you could simply go downstairs to buy any missing items even in the middle of the night without the need to go out to the street. Bath is very comfortable!
Cons: The reception staff had forgotten to give us the breakfast coupons. When we see the coupons in an envelope on the door side of our room, we are already hurry to check out and cannot enjoy the breakfast eventually!

10.0 Excellent

Cons: There is limited shelter when it rains.
7.0 Good
Pros: It was clean and within walking distance from Nagoya Station.
Cons: The female staff who attended to us didn’t seem to know what she was doing- 1. Didn’t give me the face mask which the hotel gives to female guests when checking in. 2. Gave only one room access card when 2 passwords were given to her. 3. Didn’t ask for payment till we were about to walk off.

8.0 Excellent
Pros: Very nice place right in a lively neighbourhood of Nagoya. Plenty of opportunities to dine and to drink around the hotel.
Cons: Actually money for value could have been better, given prior experiences in Japanese hotels, we had similar comfort and rooms for much better prices prior to Nagoya. Staff at reception was not particularly friendly upon our arrival.

Cons: Air conditioner is control by Hotel. It’s really hot inside the room even I set the temperature at 20C
9.5 Excellent

8.3 Excellent
Pros: Welcome the visitors
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Good English Skill Staff, Close to center of the city by just one station, Close to many local restuarants, Very clean and good policy for the eco friendly.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The staff were extremely friendly and helpful at every stage, and the room was pleasantly large by Japanese hotel standards. The themed colouring and decoration on each floor gives the whole building a great atmosphere.
Cons: My only real complaint is with their air conditioning system; for some reason, the whole building’s air conditioning is set to either warm or cool. As a result, if you’re finding it warm but the building is set to heat, you can’t use your air conditioner to cool the room, which is a bit awkward. Generally, the settings were right and it wasn’t a problem, however.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Location was good in area with lot of restaurants
Cons: The distinction between different Wing hotels was not clear to me. By searching on Maps.me when arriving at Nagoya station we went to the 'wrong' hitle Wing international

Pros: Good central location, walking distance to train station. Room was very clean. We were in Nagoya during a very busy weekend, lots of crowds and street music etc but didn't hear anything from our room.
Cons: Entrance was difficult to find.

Featured amenities include complimentary wired Internet access, complimentary newspapers in the lobby, and dry cleaning/laundry services. Planning an event in Nagoya? This hotel has facilities measuring 7586 square feet (705 square meters), including a meeting room.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Tokyo Daiichi Nishiki is another one of my go to hotels when I visit Nagoya. Rooms are actually a bit difficult to come by. This hotel is very popular with Japanese businessmen. The location is outstanding and right in the heart of the nightlife district of Sakae. There are great restaurants in the area, coffee houses, karaoke, shopping and the train station. I think many Japanese businessmen stay here not only because the rooms are nice and large and the cost is low, but because there are alot of hostess clubs nearby which they frequent. Note to foreigners, those clubs are not open to foreigners unless you are introduced by a Japanese person. Anyway the rooms are quite large and they have the most comfortable pillows I have ever slept on. The staff is awesome, the rooms are large and clean and the location is fantastic.
Cons: I don't not have any negative comments. This hotel is great when you can get rooms. They are usually booked way in advance which is the only minus I feel about this hotel.
7.5 Good
Pros: Nice breakfast and handy location
Cons: Triple room The extra bed added was very bad in condition Very incomfortable they should replace their old mattress
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The location is good! Convenience Store just located on the ground floor, easy to buy food and drink. Room is spacious and clean.

Cons: A bit busy at night along the street.
7.5 Good
Pros: Location is really nice, easy access to everything that we like.
Cons: This is quite an old hotel, though everything is clean, renovation might be needed.
5.8 Okay
Pros: - Good location
Cons: - The hotel staff gave me the wrong bus time table ( Bus to Airport) , eventually we missed it Since we waste the time to go to bus station, we have to take Taxi then , the fares is more expensive thanthe hotel room rate !!!!! We found that The bus time table he gave is Airport to Nagoya, we suppose to have Nagoya to airport !!!!
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Clean, tidy, location, new...
Cons: I got a smoking 4th floor, it smells....
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is easy to reach. It is 2 stops away from Nagoya’s main train station and a really short walk from the subway stop.
Cons: There is no visible English-language sign outside the hotel, which made the hotel harder to find. Google directs you to the back entrance, which confused me even more.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast is good.they have lots of freebies
Cons: There's no airconditioning in the room during spring time

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel was well located, a $15 taxi ride from the train. The Hotel was immaculate. The room was small but it had everything n it. Internet was good, enough outlets, we asked for an iron and there was a state-of-the art cordless iron waiting for us. Temperature control was good. Bed was quality and good. Bathroom/shower was clean and efficient. There were English speaking people at the desk and helped us find a nice restaurant around the corner (actually fantastic, and not expensive). Breakfast was good and coffee with an automatic choose your coffee, expresso, cappuccino or americano was fine. The people at the front desk, like it seems everyone in Japan were friendly and helpful.
Cons: The room was small but in reality if we wanted to spend more we could have gotten a bigger room. So we were very happy with this hotel.
