Pros: The views from the room
Cons: The lack of dining options and no English speaking staff whatsoever... Staff were not helpful and restaurant manager and his colleague were really rude to us...
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was amazing! The room was gorgeous, the view was fantastic, the staff was supurb. This is my favorite hotel in Nagoya and maybe my favorite in Japan. When in Nagoya, I will only stay at the Prince Sky Tower.

Glocal Nagoya Backpackers Hostel - Nagoya - Building
2
8.9 Excellent (2,156 reviews)
Overview Reviews
With a stay at Glocal Nagoya Backpackers Hostel in Nagoya (Nagoya City Centre), you'll be within a 5-minute drive of Toyota Commemorative Museum of Industry and Technology and Osu. The front desk is staffed during limited hours.
7.9 Good
Pros: The reception is nice and helpful. He was willing to wait for me at night for check in. Nice to talk with him.
Cons: The room is on the 4th floor and I just finished my hiking to Fuji. Quite hard to climb to 4th floor with my backpack.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly. The owner has a cafe around the corner. They roast their own coffee; the best place for 'morning set' I have found in Nagoya.
Cons: I want to live there forever. Why can't I live there forever?
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Private room with 4 bunks is a great option for families. Clean and well equipped kitchen was great for quick meals.
Cons: Nothing to dislike about this hostel!!
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Around 10mins walk form Nagoya station, lot of convenience store near by. 3 bathroom and 2 toilet on the female floor, not need to wait for line more of the time. And the staff was really nice.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The rooms and showers were great. The lockers were big enough to fit a small backpack. There were enough showers and toilets so I didn't have to wait even once. They even carried my luggage upstairs! The cafe downstairs was really nice.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Near from Nagoya station and bus stop of Rakuten, WillerTravel bus. Nice bath room, kitchen and bed. There are cafe in the 1st floor.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Good location and convenient common place, nice staff
Cons: A bit small dormitory
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Very clean. The employees are nice and friendly.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The staff were very welcoming and helpful, I'd say the friendliest out of all the places I stayed during my trip. The hostel itself is in a very quiet and relaxing area.
Cons: It's a bit of a walk if you're just using it to go to Nagoya station but there are a lot of restaurants and shops around the area if you're hanging out there.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: We like the property as it is really walking distance from the Nagoya station. We had no difficulties travelling around as the station is connected to almost all railways. Dong was really helpful and prompt to our queries and requests. Though our stay was short we really had a great time at Glocal. Also, there’s a nearby katsu place and bbq place which serves really good food! Must try!
Cons: 1. The airconditioner takes a little to work for us. Maybe we just can’t understand and we’re not used to using the remote which is in full Japanese. A little translation guide or instructions guide might help. 2. I was just bothered about the little yellow toaster in the common kitchen. It was a little bit rusty or maybe it is not that used at all. Some guests might not notice and use it despite the rust build up. 3. Our group is not that sensitive to the noise as we all slept very well during our stay. However, other guests might find it uncomfortable as we can hear loud voices and footsteps at night from the other rooms and the corridor.
Lamp Light Books Hotel Nagoya - Nagoya - Building

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location was good, the unique combination of the hotel with the book cafe. The room was a decent size for Japan. The staff was very helpful and nice.
Cons: Nothing to dislike.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The concept of the hotel is very chic. Able to bring books from the lobby to room to read. Maybe can have more English book selection. Location is also near to subway, restaurants and convenient shops.
Cons: The aircon is difficult to control the temperature. It was too cold mid way to the night.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Stylish Hotel with a lovely atmosphere thanks to the bookstore/cafe in house. This theme even continues in the rooms. Beds were comfortable, personal was very helpful.
Cons: Breakfast options were very limited and a bit too fatty/sugary for our personal taste.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The trend of book hotels is on the rise and Lamplight does it exceptionally well since everything about it was designed to be an escape for bookworms. You arrive to a really cosy lobby and mini library of both Japanese and English books (Look on the upper shelves! That's where the English books are). In every room there is a comfortable chair and a leg rest for you to stretch out and dive into your favorite book. Guests are allowed to sit in the mini library and read any book they want or choose one book to bring back to their room. I recommend making a breakfast reservation at least once because the open face sandwiches in the cafe are delightful and delicious! Coffee is great too.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The room was beautiful - it was modern and clean. We only spent one night here but I would definitely stay again. The price was very reasonable considering how large the room was. When you check in they offer you toiletries including razors, etc.
Cons: The location was out of the way because we were using our JR pass for our travels. It was about 15 minutes walk to the station over uneven ground. This is something to consider if you have particularly heavy baggage.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Boutique hotel in a great location
Cons: Charming and clean
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Very clean, well equipped
Cons: suggest adding a cover to the peephole

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Really appreciated all the enthusiastic help from the staff. Loved the laundry facility. Loved the quiet of the hotel. Loved easy access to shopping, site seeing, subway access and walkable to Nagoya Station.

8.5 Excellent
Pros: I like Mr Matsushita one of front desk staff , he is very nice and kind guy who help me so much and solve some problems for me during my stay in this hotel
Cons: They do not put mosquito repellent in the room , a mosquito bite me inside my room probably comes from the main door
7.1 Good
Pros: The Hilton Nagoya is located 15-20 minutes walk from Nagoya Station. The breakfast was wonderful which included a wide variety of international food. In our room you could choose from a variety of pillow types which I was grateful for a better nights sleep.
Cons: Parking was not included and very expensive. The floor we were staying on and our bedroom had this lingering stale smell in the air. The bathroom shampoo and soap was unpleasant and the “spa” or Japanese style bath was perhaps the worst I’ve ever been to.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Very clean with good gym room/equipments.
Cons: Nothing
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Easy access, having airport limousine stops at the hotel is a huge plus.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Hospitality
Cons: None
7.5 Good
Pros: Fast check-in and check-out process. Spacious room.
Cons: Old matress stained with tobacco. The hotel has cancelled the shuttle between Nagoya station and hotel. Although it's very convenient to get a taxi, it will be splendid for hot summer days.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Good location and friendly service.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The staff were excellent. The location was excellent. The room was excellent.
Cons: Nothing
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The check-in staff were efficient and friendly. The concierge was helpful. He helped us to make reservation in a resturant in Takayama . The breakfast was good with plenty of varieties and value for money. If you plan to book this hotel within this year, try to book a room with centennial breakfast for $100 (Japanese Yen) for each guest, because Hilton Hotel is celebrating their 100th anniversary. The location is fairly convenient. If you go from (going to ) the airport to/from the hotel, I would advise you to take the airport shuttle bus as it stops right at the hotel, though it runs hourly per bus. If you take train, it is advisable to go directly to Central Train station and then call a taxi. Do not take subway if you carry heavy luggage. Though it is closed to the hotel, yet you need to walk about at least 15 mins from the subway station to the hotel. Furthermore, you need to find the right exit closer to the hotel.
Cons: Nil
9.4 Excellent
Pros: The personnel were very helpful and also went out of their way to make everything right. The rooms were very clean and comfortable, and the junior suites are quite large by Japanese hotel standards, and well appointed. Efficient A/C with room controls is welcomed in the Japanese humid summers, and included breakfast is varied and high quality along with the serving staff.
Cons: I ONLY have two slight negatives. One is that the location isn't ideal for those using public transport. If one is hauling a couple suitcases, it's probably too far from the main train station to walk, and riding the subway one stop goes a bit too far and requires a few blocks walk back--the closest exit from the closest subway station is the farthest from the platform and requires climbing the stairs. The second slight negative is the price, it's a little high but then if you appreciate the service, cleanliness and size of the rooms, it's not bad.
7.5 Good
Pros: Very efficient check-in and check-out, nice and friendly staff
Cons: No dining option available after 9pm other than in-room.

Cons: The taste of buffet dinner was terrible and absolutely not value for money. We booked double room and paid for double room when making reservation. The hotel staff requested us to pay extra charge because we only entered one name into the booking system. Disappointed for their inflexibility.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: It was wonderful to stay there to end our week long trip. The entire atmosphere was great and made me feel special to be there.

Overview Reviews
With a stay at Daiwa Roynet Hotel Nagoya Taiko dori Side in Nagoya (Nagoya City Centre), you'll be within a 5-minute drive of Osu and Nagoya City Science Museum. Featured amenities include dry cleaning/laundry services, a 24-hour front desk, and multilingual staff. Limited parking is available onsite.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Very good staff. Good location.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: It was clean and close to Nagoya Station. Plenty of amenities around the area and close to the shopping Malls
Cons: The breakfast was not as good compared to the other hotels which we have stayed during the trip. The access card provided did not work on the first night.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: 1. Excellent location and a very short walk from the train station -- just remember to use the Taiko Dori exit. 2. Breakfast buffet was excellent given its relatively low prices. They even served wings for breakfast -- you know you must be in Nagoya, the City of Tebasaki. 3. Their vending machines sell beer -- a major convenience! 4. We were able to confirm an early check-in with a fee of 3,000 yen. I am happy to pay the fee knowing that the room will be ready for my early arrival. I hope more hotels will do this.
Cons: The front desk agent checking us in was very slow and very inefficient. The whole process took over 20 minutes in what should have been easily done in 2 - 3 minutes. She made me fill out extra paper work with redundant and useless information -- like why do you care who my employer is? Then she made a mistake and gave me a receipt in the name of my employer. No, this is a personal trip and I have fully paid for the room. The hotel's front desk staff needs more training!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: I had kids and they were surprised with rubber ducks and their own kids toothbrushes. The massage chair in the room was also amazing.
7.1 Good
Pros: Separate shower and toilet
Cons: No shower cap can be provided. It’s very inconvenient.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Rooms more spacious than others we have stayed in in Japan. Great rainwater shower. Most importantly the bed was comfortable!
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location and rooms were of good standard .
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The location is very convenient when you travel by airport express train (less than 5 min walking distance)! The walking route is also straightforward (when compared to another Nagoya hotel where I stayed for the same trip that requires walking between 3 commercial buildings/ centres with a lot of secret turns)! The room setting has maximised it’s functional space so that we could handle our luggage and shopping stuffs at ease in its spacious room. There is a convenient store (Seven-Eleven) directly connected to the hotel at G/F so that you could simply go downstairs to buy any missing items even in the middle of the night without the need to go out to the street. Bath is very comfortable!
Cons: The reception staff had forgotten to give us the breakfast coupons. When we see the coupons in an envelope on the door side of our room, we are already hurry to check out and cannot enjoy the breakfast eventually!
5.8 Okay
Pros: Location is quite convenient
Cons: Rubbish bin is still full of rubbish after room clean up
7.5 Good
Pros: The clothes washing facilities are really nice.

8.8 Excellent
Pros: Great location closed to train station
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is very close to Nagoya station, and the view from the high floors is very nice.
Cons: The room was small, and we were only able to put our luggage in the limited space we had. For people who look for a one night stay I would recommend it, but for those who want to get in and out every day and use the room a lot I would consider a bigger room or a different hotel.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was perfect. Super clean and modern in a great position near the station.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The staff was very kind and made the check in and check out process very easy. I also really like how close this hotel is to the train station and also the many options for food and shopping around the hotel.
