Pros: Location was very central to main shopping strip. There are lovely cafes for breakfast and restaurants within a short walk. Check in was easy and staff were friendly and helpful. The apartment was secure.
Cons: The room appeared to be recently renovated but not very well done. Several bathroom floor tiles were loose and mortar was coming out. The tiles got wet and slippery as the shower had no curtain or door. The lounge suite was quite old and creaky. The duvet was thin and not big enough for two people. Overall it was ok.

Cons: Since it was a small studio I expected a separate cooking/dining/chilling space from the sleeping area, but the room was smaller than most hotel rooms I’ve stayed in and there was nowhere to sit and chill out than on the bed. Eating was at the breakfast bar sitting next to each other at the end of the bed facing the wall - this was not ideal or relaxing. Because we knew that eating out was so expensive in Reykjavik we booked a studio so we could make our own breakfast and occasional evening meals. Whilst breakfast was ok it was not a space conducive for an evening meal where we could sit and chat. Saying all that, it was a good room.

Cons: All in all I do not have any complaints. The parking is a pain in the rear. You will have to figure out parking, It is available on the street and we had close spots every night we were there. You will need to add approximately 30 US dollars a day to use those close spaces and stay on top of the meters/time.

Pros: The hotel decor in this hotel is really well designed. The lobby, the lounge, the restaurant & the rooms were all super cool. We loved it! We stayed in a really great room. It had a living room with a pullout that our 2 year old slept on & a great big king in the bedroom. The bathroom had a really cool clawfoot tub & big shower. I loved the decor in our room! Blackout curtains were great as we were jet lagged & the sun doesn't go down in the Summer iceland. Breakfast was yummy & the coffee was excellent. Everything is VERY expensive in Iceland but this hotel was pricey even for Iceland. Luckily we had a free night from hotels.com do we only had to pay the taxes. I'm very impressed with Canopy by Hilton though & hope to stay in another one of their hotels.

Cons: Missed our flight with 7 yrs old, was charged for 1 night stay as was “too late to cancel “ and had “no insurance “.
Would be nice if there was some «deviation” from the policy in this particular situation and in customer service for the whole Iceland. I felt like nobody fights here for their tourists.
I guess a climate plays a role here ....
Next time definitely would NOT stay here, as there other options

Pros: The hotel was great. From the atmosphere and decorations to the people working there. The front desk staff were amazing and friendly. They were always ready to help and had a smile on there faces everyday. We got a family sized room for two people just because I heard the rooms might be smaller. However the room was bigger than I expected including the bathroom. You hear that the shower doors fold to make more room. However even extended there is enough room for the other person to use the sink or get ready. The hotel gives you a cell phone with data included, which was honestly amazing. I made the phone into a wifi hotspot and was able to use my own cell phone throughout the trip. Just bring portable charger with you as the phone battery dies quickly this way. The hotel is also located on the main strip and perfect walking distance from restaurants and bars. But a few blocks down so you don't hear the noise of the bars at night.
We never tried the breakfast downstairs as we always had say trips planned in the mornings. There is a bakery down the street that is open early I can't remember the name of it but the front desk told us about it. Big enough to sit down and have breakfast, but gets packed as well so give yourself enough time if you have morning plans.
The room does come with a pot to make your own hot tea and instant coffee if you are in a rush.

Cons: Hard to say what I did not like about the hotel. The only thing I can think of is that the room gets very warm and with no thermostat to control temperature. We opened the window everyday however it only opens a tiny crack and doesn't stay open on its own. Probably from the wind outside. Just bring light pajamas with you and you will be fine.

Cons: Unfortunately it doesn’t have much of a menu for vegans but fortunately I did find some good restaurants near the hotel. Very disappointed on check-out, I advised I booked on booking.com and had already paid but I was told no and had to pay again, during my trip to the airport I downloaded the proof and the hotel apologised but a refund not will be credited until about 3 to 5 days!

Cons: Unfortunately for the hotel, but fortunately for Reykjavik generally, there is a bit of construction going on near the facilities. Not a big deal if you're getting up early to go on an adventure, but if you intend to sleep in do ask for a room on the other side of the hotel. This advice should be good through the end of summer 2015.

Pros: We arrived into Reykjavik pretty early and got to the hotel by Flybus at 9 am and were given a warm welcome by the fabulous hotel staff. Check in time was 2 pm so we planned to leave our bags in storage and go exploring the city. We were pleasantly surprised as our room became available and Leah offered early check in immediately. After a red eye journey it was a welcome relief to rest, shower and change. This hotel’s location is ideal for transportation, dining, shopping, and sightseeing. Bus stop 13 and a taxi stand are right outside the hotel. The room and bathroom was spacious, bedding pretty comfortable. A hot breakfast consisting of scrambled eggs, sausage, cold meats, cheese cereals was available with many options. There was also early breakfast available at the bar with coffee and croissants from 3.30am and great for folks who have an early departure or excursions. There is live entertainment on Thursday evenings with extended happy hour (half price beer) so we took advantage of that. There is also a gym and spa with indoor and outdoor hot tubs, we did not take the spa package, however on one day our excursion was cancelled due to bad weather and Ana felt sorry and gave us free access to the spa to enjoy our day, this was so thoughtful. I have to make a special mentioned to Ana, Alice and Leah who were super friendly and very helpful in answering questions about sightseeing, dining, and shopping.

Pros: We arrived early and were afforded all the courtesy of breakfast and coffee. We got into a room by 10:30. Room was efficient, clean and well cared for. Staff was excellent throughout the stay.

Pros: Location was excellent. Bus stop 13 is directly in front of the hotel, which was extremely convenient for airport dropoff and tour pickup. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Bed was very comfortable.
Cons: Restaurant food was just okay, but expensive. But that is not unexpected in Iceland.

Pros: We arrived into Reykjavik pretty early and got to the hotel by Flybus at 9 am and were given a warm welcome by the fabulous hotel staff. Check in time was 2 pm so we planned to leave our bags in storage and go exploring the city. We were pleasantly surprised as our room became available and Leah offered early check in immediately. After a red eye journey it was a welcome relief to rest, shower and change. This hotel’s location is ideal for transportation, dining, shopping, and sightseeing. Bus stop 13 and a taxi stand are right outside the hotel. The room and bathroom was spacious, bedding pretty comfortable. A hot breakfast consisting of scrambled eggs, sausage, cold meats, cheese cereals was available with many options. There was also early breakfast available at the bar with coffee and croissants from 3.30am and great for folks who have an early departure or excursions. There is live entertainment on Thursday evenings with extended happy hour (half price beer) so we took advantage of that. There is also a gym and spa with indoor and outdoor hot tubs, we did not take the spa package, however on one day our excursion was cancelled due to bad weather and Ana felt sorry and gave us free access to the spa to enjoy our day, this was so thoughtful. I have to make a special mentioned to Ana, Alice and Leah who were super friendly and very helpful in answering questions about sightseeing, dining, and shopping.
Cons: The room doors are pretty heavy and slam shut on entry and exit that you can hear the thuds from other rooms, it did not bother us but it may for any light sleepers. Other than that nothing negative and we really enjoyed our stay.

It the walk to the bus stop is less than five minutes. It was still inconvenient with all our luggage. We did not know that when booking.

Cons: Only thing I would suggest is to install felt under the office chair in the rooms. In the mornings it was hard to sleep in because you can hear the chair from upstairs and surrounding rooms. Also street parking is expensive for the day. Including paid street parking would be helpful.

They wanted me to check out even though I had a five day reservation . Actually should not of been charged for the first day because I didn't get what I paid for, sleep.
The staff was always to busy on the computer to acknowledge guest unless you engaged them.

We experienced a few hotels in the Reykjavik and the others were similar in price (if not less) and the staff was so wonderful and friendly, rooms were above and beyond and the amenities were far superior. Overall would give this a 3 out of 5 star.

Cons: A bit better coordination between the administration and cleaning staff would be desired, as cleaners came into my room two times, the first time without knocking at 9 am (scared me silly) and then again just before 11 with a brief knock simultaneous with opening the door. Make sure the cleaning staff gets the correct information about the departure times of guests.

The hostel gives you confidence thanks to people working there in terms of security. Most tours pick up just outside their door steps, as well as local bus stops. Although, it's easy to walk everywhere from there. Absolutely, love it and hope to stay there again one day.

Cons: We made the mistake of using the Flyjet bus-- horrible mistake!!! We had 4 adults, 4 year old, and 20 month old, and had no idea that the bus would not take us to the hotel. Instead we had to transfer from big bus to small bus, hauling our luggage and placing on small bus. Then we were unloaded 2 blocks from the hotel, and had to haul our luggage up a hill to the hotel. Some stairs in the hotel to the first level to get to the elevator.

Cons: Having a double bed which have two beds pushed together was uncomfortable and as a couple we like to be close when we sleep. On this occasion having two single duvets just made this uncomfortable.
On check in they told us they were overbooked and that we should chose another of their hotels. The member of staff was rude and talking in Icelandic to other members of staff which made us uncomfortable. We ended up with a room upgrade because of the situation however this is not what we needed after a long day travelling.

This was not a problem for us as plus points were that it was a clean,quiet room with a comfortable bed and excellent views over the city at night. The hotel itself was very nice apparently with some updating taking place that we never saw or heard whilst there. Credit must be given to the reception staff who were always very pleasant and never put out giving us information and helping us find the best excursions available. The breakfast was very good with a nice choice. We never dined at the hotel after breakfast as we were out and about most of the time but had a few drinks at the bar at night which we thought were expensive but it's roughly the same at most bars/eateries in the city. The hotel was in a very good quiet location within easy reach and walking distance from the main city area. We really liked it here and plan to book again next year as we didn't have time to visit many of the attractions having only booked a 3-night short break. We recommend this hotel.
Excursions - A must is The Blue Lagoon a bit expensive at £125 p.p. with return coach travel but a wonderful experience and would visit again! This price was for the comfort pack that includes a towel and a free drink, it's about £21 p.p. dearer for the Premium pack which includes sandals and a robe. We found the Northern Lights a bit of a let down as we only saw a very small pale green 'glow' nowhere what you see in pictures even though it was a clear sky! The 'Hop On - Hop Off' red bus tour around city is also recommended.

Pros: The room size was amazingly great and city location was very convenient.
Cons: The hotel went on strike for a day and did not have full service ie:no housekeeping, no full food menu..very disappointed they allowed that to happen.

Pros: Location was not in the city center but a nice 10min walk away which was ideal if you don't want to be in the thick if it.
Cons: Staff seemed to be overwhelmed in the restaurant at dinner. We sat down with not explanation of the menu or even if we had been vegetarian, as we had requested a fixed 3 course dinner option prior to our stay. My husband had to inform them that he didn't eat meat. It seem too busy for the staffing level.

Pros: Given a small, quite dated room on top (7th) floor and asked for upgrade but none available. This was not a problem for us as plus points were that it was a clean,quiet room with a comfortable bed and excellent views over the city at night. The hotel itself was very nice apparently with some updating taking place that we never saw or heard whilst there. Credit must be given to the reception staff who were always very pleasant and never put out giving us information and helping us find the best excursions available. The breakfast was very good with a nice choice. We never dined at the hotel after breakfast as we were out and about most of the time but had a few drinks at the bar at night which we thought were expensive but it's roughly the same at most bars/eateries in the city. The hotel was in a very good quiet location within easy reach and walking distance from the main city area. We really liked it here and plan to book again next year as we didn't have time to visit many of the attractions having only booked a 3-night short break. We recommend this hotel.
Excursions - A must is The Blue Lagoon a bit expensive at £125 p.p. with return coach travel but a wonderful experience and would visit again! This price was for the comfort pack that includes a towel and a free drink, it's about £21 p.p. dearer for the Premium pack which includes sandals and a robe. We found the Northern Lights a bit of a let down as we only saw a very small pale green 'glow' nowhere what you see in pictures even though it was a clear sky! The 'Hop On - Hop Off' red bus tour around city is also recommended.

Cons: it was not clean. Room was shabby, hair and shower caps left in tub. other guests got updated modern rooms for same price that I paid for a run down dirty room. I wished I had gotten a more centrally located hotel, this hotel was NOT near anything
