Breakfast was not included in our reservation and the available buffet was too much food and money. However the Cafe Paris right across the street is excellent and cozy and perfect for coffee and a croissant.
Parking is a problem. Only metered street parking is available and you have to feed the metter 9-6 pm. We never had a problem finding a spot - in January - but it was annoying having to figure out timing for the car. However, it is a small price to pay for the exceptional old-city location.
Decor & atmosphere
Drain in bathroom was blocked & when first arrived 1 of the rooms had a very strong smell & room had to be changed
Bed is comfortable
Staff are very attentive to their guests, location is good and clean .
Nothing I guess .
Beautiful hotel, very pleasant staff
Everything about this stay was fantastic. The rooms were massive by European standards and so were the beds. They were heated nicely and had heated towel racks, lighting and tech was great. The staff were so friendly and helpful. The location was pretty good.
The only downside is you aren't right downtown but it's tough to say really what downtown actually is. It's such a big sprawl of a city so it's in Reykjavik but just not the heart I guess, they have a shuttle to make up for this.
