Pros: Very welcoming host. Friendly and helpful. Would like to stay here every time I return to Iceland! Will highly recommend.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: We felt right at home. The guesthouse is very well located, the rooms are very clean and cozy and the staff is so friendly and helpful (thank you Ingo!) :)
Excellent 10.0
Pros: We had a very nice stay at the guesthouse. Our room was very clean and modern. The kitchen is well equipped and the host really cares for all the hygiene rules regarding Covid. We felt very safe during our stay! He also gave us tips what to do in Reykjavik. Thank you very much!
Excellent 10.0
Pros: The beds and especially pillows were very comfortable and the furniture in general is of very good quality. The rooms are bright and cozy and they make you feel right at home. The kitchen is well equipped with a Nespresso coffee machine which is a big plus! I already look forward to come back here.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: You can't beat the location. Newly renovation building, lots of street parking, shared kitchen and bathroom. Lot's of towels, toiletries very clean and modern. Kitchen is packed with an array of teas and coffees including a healthy smoothie made fresh daily. Great service and they offer a guide with places to go and things to do in the city. Which is short walk from the hotel. Breakfast is complimentary just next door beautiful cafe with seating an wifi you can actually get some work done.
Cons: I didn't like the fact I didn't choose to stay there my entire visit to Iceland, such a great central location.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Great, quaint bed and breakfast with extremely helpful and kind owners. We would definitely stay again!

Excellent 8.0
Pros: Location was great - check in with COVID protocols was very straightforward and easy. Street parking was easy to find nearby and neighbourhood was quiet, but a short walk to everything needed.
Cons: With COVID, could not access the main house, would have liked to see the main building. Will need to come back!
Excellent 10.0
Pros: The guesthouse was in a good location and our room was in the annex, everything was nicely remodeled, parking was easy to find.
Cons: We couldn't seem to turn off the radiator - even when "off", it radiated heat so we ended up opening the window and door to cool. Likely user error.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Very friendly and helpful. Very early check-in was possible. They even agreed to store luggage for us during our hike. Very clean and comfortable. We will definitely come back.
Okay 4.0
Pros: Where was the breakfast? We found none. An noone answered the Phone. Uppon atrival online notes on the dor and Key in the Door. No person seen or heard from during our stay.
Excellent 9.0
Pros: Standard room but clean and comfortable. In a great location to explore the city and also catch the bus to other places. They let us drop our bags off super early in the morning when our flight got in and then come back and check in in the early afternoon. Overall a great experience, would stay here again.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Self check-in was a smooth process. The room was really comfortable and well furnished with everything we needed. The bathroom was a comfortable size, including a proper-sized sink. So many places in Iceland had tiny sinks! The house was walking distance to the church and many eateries, yet in a quiet residential neighborhood. We found free street parking but it may be harder during high summer season as tourism increases. Would love to stay again if we're back in Reykjavik!
Cons: I wish we could've seen the main house and enjoy breakfast but hopefully in the future that will be possible again.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Superb value - more than expected for what we paid. Room was very clean and the hostess provided some silverware/plates, fridge for take-outs in the Covid era. Location was central- easy walkability to everything.
Cons: Small room. Parking can be challenging- we were able to find a few parallel parking spots a couple blocks away. Needed a hairdryer in the room.
Excellent 8.0
Pros: Room, location
Excellent 10.0
Pros: No fuss, just go and enjoy. Loved being able to cook a bit since eating out is crazy expensive.
Cons: Parking spots are difficult sometimes. The water smelled of sulfur.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Nice, quiet residential street. Short walk to shopping area & tourist sights. Having a kitchen (with coffee pot, kettle, dishes, utensils, cooking pots, etc.) in our room was great, since eating out was so expensive. There were 9 of us in three apartments. All of our rooms had different lay-outs, and one of them had a large living room where we could all gather comfortably (Apt. 2) Very friendly, helpful innkeepers, also!

Excellent 9.0
Pros: Great central location, free street parking (though FYI not actually on site), kind host and gorgeous light in the space. Everything we needed, and clean.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Georg and Arnar were great hosts. You are guests in a house, not just hotel customers. The house has very interesting decorations and furniture. There is a kitchen / large living room area available for everyone to use. The room was small but adequate and had a private bathroom (which was on my must list), and compared to other options in Iceland's capital, this was great value for money. The location is great (right next to the big church, and walking distance from all the downtown shops), with parking available on the next street (and right across the house on Sundays).
Cons: Due to covid, no breakfast is made. However coffee/tea was available, and you were encouraged to use the kitchen.
Excellent 9.0
Pros: The rooms looked nice and the location was perfect. For that price it's very good.
Cons: The bedrooms and the kitchen weren't clean. But it was OK.
Excellent 8.0
Pros: Comfortable room in an interesting old house in the heart of Reyjavik. We really enjoyed our night there and had a good time chatting with the owner. Facilities were great and neat art on the walls. Thank you!
Excellent 9.7
Pros: Beds were comfortable. Staff were friendly. Easy check-in and check-out. Didn't have time to stay for breakfast but they gave us a packed breakfast to take with us the night before.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Great location and really nice staff. The people there even made me a lunch box to go since my flight was very early in the morning and I'd miss breakfast.

Excellent 10.0
Pros: Friendly staff, nice rooms
Excellent 9.6
Excellent 8.0
Cons: Probably due to covid bfast was pretty minimal. parking in the back, but only 5 placed. Nearby street parking is free though.
Excellent 9.0
Pros: Great place to stay in Reykjavik - next to the big church, free parking possibilities, close to the main ponts of interest, good breakfast, slept very well.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Comfortable bed, central location, well-organised space in the room itself, clean, quiet, breakfast included, kitchen use possible
Cons: The shower tends to flood the floor if you don’t use the right showering technique...
Good 7.0
Pros: Location is great, cca 15-20 min to the city centre, 2min to the bus-stop where you can take all the tours and bus for airport. If you do not ming walking, central bus station is cca 15 min walk. Room was nice and clean. Breakfast was ok, nicely served and simple (bread, ham, cheese, butter, milk, yoghurt, cereals, boiled egg, juice, coffee, tea, fruit)
Cons: We did not found beds very comfortable, they looked great, but were a little bit too soft and two single beds with a "hole" in between, even if you put them together. I would say breakfast was just "good", and not "very good" as booking is indicating. For "very good" a little bit more variety was missing.

Excellent 9.0
Pros: A nice spacious room with a comfortable bed, a new bathroom with a rainshower and the loveliest hosts! Karlotta made us a wonderful breakfast with homemade bread, we wish we could have stayed longer! The walk to the city center took us around 20min, perfect after the long flight! Would definitely stay there again!
Excellent 10.0
Pros: The hosts were very nice and made us feel very comfortable.
Excellent 9.2
Pros: Very quiet very friendly. Needed to leave very early - was left breakfast self serve, made sandwiches which I ate later
Cons: Long walk into town
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Excellent location, well maintained home, extremely friendly and accommodating host. Would 100% stay here again!
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Karlotta and Hugo were excellent hosts and both made us feel extremely welcome. They gave great recommendations and made sure we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The breakfast was also a highlight and helped us keep to our more strict budget. The place itself was very homely and having books in every room was lovely. Karlotta also kindly offered to change our bedding and towels – much appreciated after an evening at the Blue Lagoon!
Cons: The only thing I would say is that the property was quite expensive for the location. It was advertised as being in the city centre of Reykjavik, but it was a 25-minute walk. We didn't mind walking (and we did hire a car for two of the days) but would have been nice to be a little bit closer. Other than that, our stay was fantastic.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Fantastically lovely hosts, cosy room, super breakfast
Excellent 10.0
Pros: We arrived late. Great hospitality! Karlotta has made arrangements so that we were looked after. It's a lovely room in their lovely home. Comfortable bed, love the 2 single blankets. She has thoughtfully put a microwave and kettle in the dining area so we could help ourselves to tea.
Cons: Location is in the suburbs. Reykjavik in general is expensive... Be prepared to pay for expensive taxi. We made a mistake by thinking we could easily walk to Go Camper to pick up car, but that was an approx 20 mins taxi away. If you already have rented a car from airport, this isn't an issue.
Excellent 9.6
Pros: Karlotta (the host) is so sweet and welcoming person! She is always ready to help. The breakfast is also a nice option! The house itself and the room are stylish, modern but with it's own history and unique things so you can feel yourself almost at home! Definetely wish to stay longer.
Cons: Not so close to city center, Laugavegur street - 20-25 minute walk. But that's all that may not be suittable for some people. For us it was okay.

Excellent 9.0
Pros: The staff were amazing. So helpful and cheerfully attentive. The room was comfortable and clean.
Cons: Not anyone's fault but I wish we had known that the restaurant was not yet open and that breakfast would be boxed. This was due to Covid, of course, but it was very disappointing nonetheless.
Good 6.7
Pros: Well decorated with lots of art pieces
Cons: Room services would have been better.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Excellent location Helpful staff Lovely breakfast
Cons: Room door key was abit dodgey but I suspect it’s a one off
Good 6.7
Pros: Art around the hotel, good breakfast, friendly staff
Cons: Poorly maintained for example lightbulbs requires changing , dusty, small rooms. Very bad sound insulation, you can hear every footfall outside on the street, even though it is a relatively quiet street.
Excellent 9.0
Pros: Nice hotel located in downtown, not modern but got a nice old world feel to it, short walks to the shops and sights. Upgraded to a junior suite as it was for my 60th birthday. Breakfast was very good.
Cons: Restaurant wasn't available a couple of nights, would have been nice to have been able to use it especially when out on day long excursions.
Excellent 10.0
Excellent 9.4
Pros: Location was easy walking distance to many shops and restaurants. Staff was friendly and helpful.
Cons: They say that they provide a hot breakfast, but I found that this really meant just buffet style eggs and bacon. Everything else was more of a continental breakfast style.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Quiet location, but 10 min walk to everything. Breakfast buffet (hot) included. Absolutely best staff attentive, accommodating, engaging. Houses one of the finer restaurants in the city plus a nice bar downstairs. Tea and coffee and mini bar in the room. Would absolutely stay again.
Cons: Single rooms on the top floor are drafty because of the balcony doors.
Excellent 8.8
Pros: Very good staff, clean and comfortable, splurge restaurant. Arranged several details including transfers and day trips via the staff. Quick walk to old town in both directions - reflecting pool or Hallgrimskirka. Solid.
Cons: Not cheap, rooms are not large, but that's not their fault.

Excellent 8.0
Pros: Good location
Cons: A little messy
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Excellent customer service, the host Ingi was very helpful throughout my whole stay. Location is good and everything is clean
Cons: I liked everything
Okay 5.0
Pros: The beds were good
Cons: - The kitchen is a mess - Groups of working people stay in the hostel instead of tourists - We couldn't open the door when we arrived and the promised baby bed was not present.
Excellent 8.0
Pros: We got an upgrade to room with own bathroom.
Excellent 9.0
Pros: Close to city center. Clean and comfortable. Kitchen was well equipped.
Cons: Taking shoes off is required but there was not enough slippers. Better to bring your own.
Excellent 9.0
Pros: I was worried about the bathrooms and toilets in the corridor, but it turned out that it was never an issue - they are clean and they were always available. It's true, though, that the place was not fully booked - it's coronavirus times. I especially appreciated the understanding and hospitality of the staff once I found myself not knowing when I'm going to leave, because of the cancelled flights. Thank you for making me feel welcome there!
Cons: There is public food and private food in the kitchen area - make sure to distinguish between the two, I ate somebody's popcorn... ;)
Excellent 9.0
Pros: excellent staff reception/assistance when needed, CLEAN and comfortable, perfect location for walking or drive, enjoyed our stay and highly recommend.
Cons: n/a

Excellent 10.0
Pros: The Hilton Hotel was very nice and the receptionist who looked like Malfoy from Harry Potter ( sorry we forgot your name :( ) was so kind and helped us with everything and gave us another upgrade for the room! Also they have vegan options in the restaurant which was excellent! Even if they rebooked us some where else, we were very happy with our stay. Thank you for accomodating us
Cons: When we arrived at the hotel the hotel was closed. We called the porperty and they told us to go to the Hilton hotel with the same booking and price without any charges. It was nice to have that upgrade but very disapointing to not have known in advance.
Excellent 9.0
Pros: Very nice big room, nice check in
Cons: when I book on booking I give up 2 adults and 1 child 7 years old. But they dont see the child at check in. but very nice staff so nothing to dont like there.

Pros: Spa was fantastic, breakfast was great but this was expected due to the price you pay.
Cons: Having a double bed which have two beds pushed together was uncomfortable and as a couple we like to be close when we sleep. On this occasion having two single duvets just made this uncomfortable. On check in they told us they were overbooked and that we should chose another of their hotels. The member of staff was rude and talking in Icelandic to other members of staff which made us uncomfortable. We ended up with a room upgrade because of the situation however this is not what we needed after a long day travelling.

Cons: It was discribed as having a pool which was not accurate because you had to pay extra for that tried to stay one night and cancel the other nights were told couldn't do it with out paying full price, won't book through kayak again
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Privacy and friendly staff at the reception. Good people standing behind the desk.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: The staff was very friendly and helpful with information on getting around Reykjavik. The food was excellent. Loved the Folk art and displays in the lobby. It was a very nice stay for my first visit to Iceland.
Cons: The only thing that didn't work was th TV in our room. When the staff couldn't seem to fix it we were given vouchers for a beverage of our choice from the bar. It worked out just fine, instead of sitting in our room we went out and about the city and had a great time, better than TV any day!
Excellent 8.0
Pros: Nice rooms, welcoming staff at reception, very clean and comfy. Not walking distance to downtown Reykajvik, but still a very pleasant hotel. If you are going to leisure I would make sure you have a rental car.
Cons: The restaurant wasn't that great, (underdone chicken), waitstaff wasn't friendly, especially if your breakfast wasn't part of the package. The spa staff gave contradictory information to reception staff, so better communication would've been helpful .
Excellent 8.0
Pros: Crisp, clean rooms. Sharp lines very modern look inside
Cons: Breakfast is a barely mediocre buffet for 3000isk (about $30) a person
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Located directly next to domestic airport in Reykjavik - very convenient since I flew in/out of airport - walked to airport - no need to take expensive taxi - clean room - friendly staff
Excellent 10.0
Pros: The room and all amnesties were great. Very comfortable for our last night in Iceland.
Cons: The extra charges for breakfast were quite high.
Good 6.8
Pros: Nice location, but the rooms were dated, the TV was very old, the wifi worked intermittently, the breakfast buffet was pricey, and the beds were not comfortable.

Excellent 8.0
Pros: Bed was amazing and also size of room, lady was very nice
Cons: Missing first aid kit
Good 7.0
Pros: There was a breakfast, I was not expecting that
Cons: The bathroom was not really clean
Excellent 10.0
Pros: It is a very nice, home-like place, very close to Reykjavík downtown. Thank you, our dear host for your hospitality, care taking, delicious breakfasts and coffee! All the best!
Excellent 9.0
Pros: quick , easy check in, nice location , friendly host
Good 6.0
Pros: Breakfast and localization were very good.
Cons: I believe that it could be more clean.
Excellent 8.0
Pros: Owners wonderful and kind and helped us out in a difficult situation.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: The hostess, Harpa is the nicest person and she really makes you feel welcome :) Good rooms with shared but very clean bathrooms
Okay 4.6
Pros: The only good thing about this property is the location and the filtered coffee served every morning .  Very central, you can walk anywhere really .
Cons: I'm very surprised of the good reviews for this property, either these people have never travelled and they don't have any other property to compare to or their stay was totally different. How can I start? Firstly, our flight got cancelled due to bad weather in Reykjavik  and when we called the owner to try to get a full even partial refund, the answer was "no". I understand the non-refundable policies , I work in a hotel and I know that it's not about "I can't do it" but about "I dont want to do it " specially when the  circumstances of cancellation were beyond our control.  The only offer we got was having an earlier check in (before 3pm)the following day (when we were able to fly ) . When we arrived we had to remove our shoes ,I didn't like it, there was a box with some dirty slippers and flip flops in the entrance available for everyone, but I preferred to have dirty socks the whole stay rather than using those slippers. The "check in" process was short and cold and standing next to the entrance . The room we booked was a standard double ,very very simple, old furnitures and "just "clean. No sink in the room like the photos posted on booking.com . We were allocated in the first floor ,no convenient in any way as you have to go upstairs to use the toilet and shower. There was a toilet in the first floor,Out of order during our stay.  The bathrooms are dirty ,the shower curtain has been there probably for over a year without being removed and washed . The "daily housekeeping " they offered on the website doesn't exist ,the way of cleaning is opening the windows to ventilate the rooms and bathrooms which doesn't really surprise me considering the owner's BO .
Good 7.6
Good 7.7
Pros: Basic accommodations, but the room was comfortable, quiet, and dark at night. The breakfast was excellent.

Excellent 9.0
Pros: The staff were great. They went out of their way to make my first day as comfortable as possible. (i.e. baggage storage and early check in) Great location kitty-corner to the Church. No way to get lost!
Cons: N/A
Good 6.0
Pros: Great location at the centre of Reykjavik which made it easy to enjoy the bars. Suited us for a one night stay.
Cons: Pretty noisy in the morning as guests we’re getting up in the early hours to catch their flights.
Excellent 8.0
Pros: This place is a really good deal. There is free street parking, it's right downtown- only two blocks from Cafe Loki and Hallgrimskirkja, 6 minute walk to Kronan if you want to get groceries and you can use the kitchen. I like that they have laundry service, although we didn't use it. The blackout curtains were effective- very important during summer. Beds were comfortable. Wifi is good.
Cons: The electrical sockets and light switch in our room didn't work. Luckily we had battery banks to charge our phones and it was summer so all we had to do was open the curtains when we needed light in the morning. In the winter this might be more of a problem.
Excellent 9.0
Pros: No breakfast due to COVID restrcitions. Location was great.
Excellent 8.0
Pros: The hostel is right next to the hallgrimskirkja, so very central. Every floor has a bathroom and there is a well equipped kitchen in the basement.
Cons: The bathrooms and especially the hot water was very smelly (worse than usual in Iceland). The staff was a little bit hard to reach. Parking was very difficult in the area.
Good 7.0
Pros: Good location and nice rooms.
Cons: The bathroom was very small and not that clean.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Can't ask for a better location, room and toilets were spotless and the best was incredibly comfortable.
Cons: The lack of staff could have been an issue, but due to the pandemic, I understand why it makes sense to have less staff then needed.
Excellent 9.0
Pros: Great location right near the city center! They are doing some updates as the place is a bit outdated and has a strange/musty smell. No breakfast is served due to COVID, but the staff is friendly and the location is unmatched for the price!
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Easy check in and check out process. Clean facilities and comfortable beds! The shades and curtains did a great job of blocking the sunlight. I loved that a little sink came with the room. The staff was super accommodating when we showed up an hour or so before the official check in time.
Cons: Unfortunately due to covid no breakfast was served. Street Parking was sometimes limited but we never had to park too far away.
Excellent 10.0
Excellent 10.0
Pros: This was clean comfortable small room in downtown Reykjavik. They have a very efficient check in process. The breaksfast was great. It is a very convenient location close to all of the main pedestrian areas.
Cons: The breakfast room was crowded, but everyone was able to get food and eat. An extra towel / bathmat for the shower could have been nice. I used my towel to dry the floor since I was just staying one night.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: location was wonderful, and easy to explane when you are lost because there was a pizza restaurant near by. Also, it was one block away from the famous church. Breakfast was wonderful. couldn't stop eating the bread they provided.
Cons: it maybe difficult to use the restroom, since the building i stayed was a modified house, which had only one bathroom( just one) on the floor with three bed room.
Excellent 8.8
Pros: good value and really close to everything you want to see
Cons: the shower on the ground floor was borderline to hot.

Okay 4.5
Pros: Cheap
Cons: Crummy bathroom with no place or room for anything. Sulfurous stench water (not filtered as is needed in Reykjavik water system). Noisy smoker area outside tenant windows that kept me awake until four thirty am then restarted at six am). Paper thin walls. Dirty carpets. Just a dump that’s milking tourists.

Good 6.0
Pros: Location is good. The city is so expensive that this hostel for about €50-60 per night is the only option budget traveler can afford.
Cons: One bathroom per each floor with 4 tiny rooms, very often bathroom was occupied. Super noisy, rooms have zero soundproof. You can hear every guest walking in and out, climbing up the stairs, talking on the phone in their room or in common space between rooms. And this lasts all day and most of the night. Earplugs helps a little.
Okay 5.0
Cons: Random worker entered my locked room after brief knocking in the middle of the day, found me naked in my bed. When I've asked him what's happening, he explained me that they are reconstructing the place, kept doing his thing while I was just wordlessly stuned by the situation. Probably biggest violation of privacy I've experienced till now. At 9pm, tired and craving to have a shower, I've found out that there are no towels, and I need to pick them up from other guesthouse on different street. When I called asking why, I was explained that people kept stealing them. Very weird experience and I unfortunately couldn't enjoy my stay and leave a nice review.
Good 6.0
Pros: Great location for Reykjavik.
Cons: In the building I stayed with - which is not the main house- there was a horrible and unpleasant smell at the entrance and corridor to the room and bathroom.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Clean rooms. Shared kitchen. Shared bathrooms weren't a problem since there were only a few rooms per floor. Breakfast is free and complimentary. We arrived early in the morning before check in and the let us store our bags in the back room. Easy walk to downtown.
Cons: French tourists took my kid's milk box from the shared fridge but that's not the hotel's fault.

Excellent 10.0
Pros: I stay here all the time (more than 20 nights now), its consistently reliable, clean, and quiet. Perfectly comfortable, and not hit or miss like a lot of the places in Reykjavik. Its about a 10-15 minute walk from downtown in a residential area, parking is super easy at the hotel.
Cons: I like everything about this hotel. Im sold.
Excellent 8.0
Pros: The staff and the location was great. The breakfast was fine.
Cons: The hot water smelled a bit funny. Other than that it was great.
Excellent 8.0
Pros: The style of the hotel from the 60-70 was interesting.
Good 7.0
Pros: Interesting hotel with 1960ies style interior, at least partially. Outside of hotel is not nice, a big block. Rooms are OK, mattress a bit hard, bedding very nice. Staff attentive and friendly. Check-in and check out smooth. Overall nothing fancy. But good for one or two nights.
Cons: Location is good and bad at the same time. Good, because you can walk to the city, but the surrounding is kind of industrial. Building is old and although rooms are renovated, it feels old. Rooms cannot be darkened properly.
Good 6.0
Pros: location (if you have a car and hiking is your business) spacious room (superior) abel to conect TV to ipad
Cons: sloppily house keeping / cleaning tiny bathroom quality of bed
Excellent 8.8
Excellent 9.6
Excellent 8.0
Pros: The room size was amazingly great and city location was very convenient.
Cons: The hotel went on strike for a day and did not have full service ie:no housekeeping, no full food menu..very disappointed they allowed that to happen.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: The location was great, it was only 15 minute walk to the city center and was easily located for excursion pick up.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Given a small, quite dated room on top (7th) floor and asked for upgrade but none available. This was not a problem for us as plus points were that it was a clean, quiet room with a comfortable bed and excellent views over the city at night. The hotel itself was very nice apparently with some updating taking place that we never saw or heard whilst there. Credit must be given to the reception staff who were always very pleasant and never put out giving us information and helping us find the best excursions available. The breakfast was very good with a nice choice. We never dined at the hotel after breakfast as we were out and about most of the time but had a few drinks at the bar at night which we thought were expensive but it's roughly the same at most bars/eateries in the city. The hotel was in a very good quiet location within easy reach and walking distance from the main city area. We really liked it here and plan to book again next year as we didn't have time to visit many of the attractions having only booked a 3-night short break. We recommend this hotel. Excursions - A must is The Blue Lagoon a bit expensive at £125 p.p. with return coach travel but a wonderful experience and would visit again! This price was for the comfort pack that includes a towel and a free drink, it's about £21 p.p. dearer for the Premium pack which includes sandals and a robe. We found the Northern Lights a bit of a let down as we only saw a very small pale green 'glow' nowhere what you see in pictures even though it was a clear sky! The 'Hop On - Hop Off' red bus tour around city is also recommended.
Okay 5.0
Pros: breakfast was awesome, if pricey. Staff was helpful
Cons: it was not clean. Room was shabby, hair and shower caps left in tub. other guests got updated modern rooms for same price that I paid for a run down dirty room. I wished I had gotten a more centrally located hotel, this hotel was NOT near anything
Poor 1.0
Pros: The hotel is big, in construction, noise, facility equipment trouble, electronic door key was not working.
Poor 1.0
Cons: It's easily the worst hotel for $--- price
Okay 4.0
Pros: The breakfast was very good. The staff were friendly. The bedding was good.
Cons: The hotel appeared old and worn out. The room was small and worn out. No USB plug in the room The TV did not work. We asked for it to be fixed twice, but it was not taken care of. This is definitely not a 4 star hotel. In the U.S it would be a 2.5 s
Excellent 8.5
Pros: The proximity to the city center and ocean, without any hustle and bustle. The staff was amazing and did whatever they could to accommodate. The views of the sea and the mountains were beautiful.
Cons: Breakfast and dinner buffets are expensive but in line with prices across Iceland. There were renovations creating some confusion on how to get to our room and some exit doors were closed.
Excellent 8.0
Pros: People working there were helpful and friendly!
Cons: Way way way overpriced for room and breakfast, hotel under repair and should have paid us to stay there! Poor condition for a Radisson Blu, we called it Radisson BOOOOOO
Okay 4.0
Pros: Location was very good.i had high expectations for a 3+star hotel
Cons: Blood stain on the comforter and dark faded patch as well. It is nothing to hurt the hotel but to help people to understand what they are getting for the price they pay. I hope the hotel improves.i requested for an extra bed and I had to request 2nd
Excellent 8.2
Pros: The proximity to the city and although they didn't have a pool they give free passes to the nearby pool which has sauna steam room and hot tubs.
Cons: The breakfast buffet had the same food every day and there wasn't many options for those who didn't eat pork.
Good 6.0
Pros: nothing it was not exactly the hotels fault, but due to an airline strike we had to cut our stay by a day. When we checked in I made it clear they we were leaving a day early. Hotel ignored this and charged us for the day we were not there.(NOT Prepaid
Cons: Location - not near anything very windy, I know Iceland is cold, but this hotel was cold or rather I never got warm from the cold outside. No food, no restaurant in hotel, or rather the nice one was booked,no availability for hotel guests for reservatio
Excellent 10.0
Pros: The rooms were clean but Kinda our dates amenities.the beds were clean but the pillows are flat. Breakfast always great. Clean and helpful staff.
Good 7.0
Pros: breakfast
Cons: messy- under construction
Okay 4.0
Pros: Helpful staff, nice view from our room
Cons: The hotel is extremely outdated and our room was dilapidated and tiny. No space to even turn around, horrible bed (with a dent down the middle, so my friend and I kept rolling into each other), cracks in the walls and ceiling, water/rust blocking the light from the ceiling fixture, peeling paint, cheap/ineffective shower curtain, windows that rattled, etc. We didn't complain or ask to change rooms because I can't imagine other rooms are any better. This hotel is a bit creepy and at least 10 years past necessary renovations. It was supposed to be a splurge and a treat for ourselves after 10 days of guesthouses, but was by far our worst accommodation in Iceland. Really disappointing for a Radisson Blu and for the amount we spent.
Okay 5.0
Pros: Somme place on the roof and bâts is good.
Cons: Hotel in rénovation, somme facilitiez are Closer. The réservations was incluses breakfast in the privé of the roof, and the hotel charge 1200 is per personne for a ligot breakfast.
Good 6.0
Pros: The included breakfast & friendly staff.
Cons: The drafty windows that scream all night because of how much wind they let through. The rooms & hotel need major updating, compared to the other comparable hotels the Blue Saga is seriously dragging behind with decor from the 60's
Good 6.2
Pros: The staff
Cons: The outdated hotel with drafty windows
Good 6.2
Pros: The hotel had complimentary breakfast, with many options and great food. The staff was super friendly and helpful.
Cons: The room we had was extremely outdated, it looked like my classroom in public school in the early 90's, with tile and colors from the 60's.
Mediocre 2.5
Pros: This is a avery poorly maintained hotel. The staff is not very informative about the Iceland and very unhelpful to customers. The rooms are not cleaned properly and customer complaints not attended promptly. In my five days stay, my room telephone never worked, shower head never fixed, it took two days tho fix the locker. I had to visit the front desk several times to complain but not much was done. Overall it was a very unpleasant experience. We were a group of 15 people that could not call room to room - had to use what is app to communicate and coordinate activities. So sad
Good 6.5
Pros: The service is great, along with it being easily accessible to the area without being right in downtown/touristy area. View is pretty nice of the city from afar too. We enjoyed the hotel for 4 days while doing day trips around the ring road then walking to the nightlife or hotel bar in the evenings. The staff is pretty accommodating to any needs - the bartending staff had a real knowledge of the area and great tips. I would maybe stay here again, but bring my own pillows next time.
Cons: It is a bit outdated in terms of decor - but the real issue is the pillows. There was nothing to them and it left us with terrible neck strain. Wifi didn't work in our 6th floor room, but they tried to accommodate by placing a hotspot nearby - yet removed it before the end of our stay.
Okay 5.7
Pros: Staff was great. Good location but a 15 min walk to the city center with its shops and eateries.
Cons: Rooms were "used" at best. A lot of wear and tear and small holes and dents in walls and doorways. Some non functioning amenities and even issues with one of the elevator banks.
Good 7.1
Pros: - Great price - 10 minute walk to downtown - Good breakfast - Good wifi
Cons: - Very worn linens and furniture - Bed was not the most comfortable
Excellent 10.0
Pros: The room was super clean, had many amenities and was well appointed (bathrobe, slippers, plenty of towels, a safe, cable Tv and radio, Wifi, some complimentary toiletries, coffee &coffee maker, cork screw, many lamps, great system of curtains, bath tub and shower, etc.). The hotel itself also had many amenities: there are three dining options there ( award winning restaurant, moderate restaurant, and bar fare), a spa and hairdresser in the basement, a bar/lounge with happy hour, a polite and helpful staff, a tourist shop, etc.
Excellent 8.0
Pros: The rooms we stayed in were clean and well-kept, the staff was very courteous and the location is ideal. If you're not afraid of a little walking (or if you're from NYC and think nothing of it) then you'll be pleased by how quickly you can get to the city center without using the buses or the very expensive cabs. The view was lovely and the restaurant on the ground floor was a very enjoyable meal and reasonably priced compared to the normal Icelandic fare. We stayed at the hotel for slightly more than a week and used it as a staging point for a variety of tours. I mention this because it seems like a fairly common practice here, and tour drivers will actually come into the lobby and collect you. In our case one of the tours was cancelled and the hotel staff handled all the logistics for rescheduling it. Our reservation came with access to their daily breakfast buffet, which is quite large and served as a great meal to get us started before our tours.
Cons: Like many homes and hotels in iceland, this building gets its hot water directly from a hot water system below ground. There are some places you might stay that get their hot water from a local geothermal plant. This is not one of them. This means that the Saga's hot water has a slight sulfur smell to it. It's perfectly safe and even drinkable, but the taste and the smell is not pleasant. Knowing this ahead of time would not have made me cancel my reservation, but I think this kind of thing is good to know before you arrive. Laundry is expensive. I sent down about two weeks' worth of Tshirts, socks, and underwear for a single person and it ran about 70 USD. We would still rather have used the local laundry than packing twice as many clothes, but that price stings a bit, especially for simple cotton garments.
