Excellent 10.0
Pros: Ingo was very helpful with answering all of our questions, thank you for the extraordinary hospitality.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Central location, friendly staff, there was complimentary coffee, tea, smoothies and cake!! And bathroom toiletries are from L’Occitane
Cons: Nothing
Excellent 10.0
Pros: This property was perfect for what we needed! Great location, friendly and helpful staff, all the utensils you need and the comfiest of beds and pillows! We went in the winter months and loved coming back to our cosy studio after a long day of exploring! This place is exactly what you need for your Icelandic adventure.
Cons: There was nothing not to like.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Great, quaint bed and breakfast with extremely helpful and kind owners. We would definitely stay again!
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Loved the little touches - the smoothies, amenities, nice bathroom products. Bed was very comfortable. Can’t beat the location. Easy check-in. I’ve stayed at 3 other properties in town and this has been my favorite. I will definitely come back to stay here!
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Absolutely everything! First of all, the hosts were super friendly and helpful - they kindly let to keep the luggage after checking out. Also, due to the early work assignments, I couldn’t make to the breakfast from 8 am but this was easily solved by getting breakfast to the fridge in advance. However, I wouldn’t like to miss an opportunity to enjoy breakfast at the actual place - Reykjavik roasters who had a great menu & coffee! Even more, every morning, the surprise smoothie and cake is served at the guesthouse. The house interior creates a comfortable environment that relaxes after the intensive days. Everything is very clean. It’s exceeded expectations. I would recommend staying both for the leisure and work trips.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Complimentary breakfast smoothies are great, cozy bedroom, AMAZING location (right in the heart of Reykjavic and walking distance to everything), clean facilities, bike rental. Staff was very friendly and accommodating - we had a slight delay in our travels and one of the staff members made sure we were taken care of.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Great place to stay. Location is really handy - only a short walk into town and a bus stop for activities/trips/excursions is just around the corner. Really homely feel with tea, coffee, smoothies and cake(!) provided in the kitchen area. Would highly recommend
Excellent 10.0
Pros: You can't beat the location. Newly renovation building, lots of street parking, shared kitchen and bathroom. Lot's of towels, toiletries very clean and modern. Kitchen is packed with an array of teas and coffees including a healthy smoothie made fresh daily. Great service and they offer a guide with places to go and things to do in the city. Which is short walk from the hotel. Breakfast is complimentary just next door beautiful cafe with seating an wifi you can actually get some work done.
Cons: I didn't like the fact I didn't choose to stay there my entire visit to Iceland, such a great central location.

Excellent 10.0
Pros: The guesthouse was super close to Hallgrimskirkja and bus stop 8 which made travel from the airport and pick up from our tour extremely easy. Janek and Edda were very accommodating. Janek was very helpful and gave us very detailed instructions upon checkin because our flight came in late. Breakfast was very good and you meet several travelers during different parts of their stay in Reykjavik. All in all a fantastic stay.
Cons: Nothing really.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Great location and really nice staff. The people there even made me a lunch box to go since my flight was very early in the morning and I'd miss breakfast.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Great breakfast and supercute housecat :)
Excellent 9.6
Pros: Very nice room with bathroom and kitchenet. House cat Ragnar stayed with me half of a first day. Perfect location, 6 min walking from BSI, just next to Hallgrímskirkja.
Cons: Breakfast is 8-9h, ending to early for me.
Excellent 9.0
Pros: Location, price all good. Hosts and their staff helpful and friendly.
Cons: BBC channels dropped out for a few hours and so did the wifi, but the rest of the time they worked well,
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Nice room and atmosphere
Cons: We had an upgrade and our room was cozy and comfortable. We loved our stay
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Edda and Runar were great hosts! The location was extremely convenient, a few minutes walk to the main tourist areas. I really enjoyed the free breakfast. This is a really affordable property. I definitely recommend it- I traveled alone and it was just what I needed. Plus they have a really cute cat!
Excellent 9.7
Pros: Beds were comfortable. Staff were friendly. Easy check-in and check-out. Didn't have time to stay for breakfast but they gave us a packed breakfast to take with us the night before.

Excellent 9.2
Pros: The place is nice, same as the pictures, clean. The location is perfect. Breakfast was nice, there was a variety of breads in some of the days, they were delicious.
Cons: All was fine.
Excellent 9.2
Pros: Staff at reception were always polite, more then welling to answer our questions, provided great direction to specific locations and did lots of extra recherch on wed to answer our inquiries.
Cons: Our room was located at the end of the guesthouse on third floor, Some days after long outings/hiking the stairs were challenging for an older guy with bad knees.Luggage transportation will have been to/from room will have been appreciated.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Beautifully located next to the church at the top of town. Easy walk to all restaurants and bars. Walked to dinner a the Hereford Steakhouse and it was AMAZING. You must try the Puffin and Reindeer. The room was impeccable and very comfortable. They have normal rooms and studios. I had a studio for the night. Full bathroom, fridge, electric kettle, parking behind the building. Great view of the church from my room.
Cons: I have no complaints.
Excellent 8.0
Pros: Sunna is my favorite place to stay while in Reykjavík. Ideally located with nice staff and reasonable rates. And they extended breakfast hours during the Airwaves festival! :)
Excellent 9.2
Pros: Our greeting was lovely! Rooms were clean and comfortable. Kettle and mugs provided but no tea, coffee or milk so take your own supplies!
Excellent 9.2
Pros: Very clean, close to town centre, with parking.
Cons: No coffee in the room.
Excellent 8.8
Pros: Free Parking and location! I can see the hallgrimskirkja from the window! Walking distance to the shopping street
Cons: Small rooms, small bathrooms

Excellent 10.0
Pros: We arrived late. Great hospitality! Karlotta has made arrangements so that we were looked after. It's a lovely room in their lovely home. Comfortable bed, love the 2 single blankets. She has thoughtfully put a microwave and kettle in the dining area so we could help ourselves to tea.
Cons: Location is in the suburbs. Reykjavik in general is expensive... Be prepared to pay for expensive taxi. We made a mistake by thinking we could easily walk to Go Camper to pick up car, but that was an approx 20 mins taxi away. If you already have rented a car from airport, this isn't an issue.
Excellent 9.2
Pros: The home was comfortable and the owners very friendly and helpful.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Excellent location, well maintained home, extremely friendly and accommodating host. Would 100% stay here again!
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Karlotta and Hugo were excellent hosts and both made us feel extremely welcome. They gave great recommendations and made sure we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The breakfast was also a highlight and helped us keep to our more strict budget. The place itself was very homely and having books in every room was lovely. Karlotta also kindly offered to change our bedding and towels – much appreciated after an evening at the Blue Lagoon!
Cons: The only thing I would say is that the property was quite expensive for the location. It was advertised as being in the city centre of Reykjavik, but it was a 25-minute walk. We didn't mind walking (and we did hire a car for two of the days) but would have been nice to be a little bit closer. Other than that, our stay was fantastic.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: The hosts were very nice and made us feel very comfortable.
Excellent 9.2
Pros: Very quiet very friendly. Needed to leave very early - was left breakfast self serve, made sandwiches which I ate later
Cons: Long walk into town
Excellent 9.6
Pros: Karlotta (the host) is so sweet and welcoming person! She is always ready to help. The breakfast is also a nice option! The house itself and the room are stylish, modern but with it's own history and unique things so you can feel yourself almost at home! Definetely wish to stay longer.
Cons: Not so close to city center, Laugavegur street - 20-25 minute walk. But that's all that may not be suittable for some people. For us it was okay.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Fantastically lovely hosts, cosy room, super breakfast

Pros: It was clean and in a great location - about a 5-10 min walk to the bus stop as well as to the Cathedral and a main shopping street with lots of restaurants. They also upgraded us to a two bedroom at no charge.
Cons: The kitchen sink was the only reliable hot water. The bathroom sink took ages to warm up and the shower was chilly at best.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Nice, quiet residential street. Short walk to shopping area & tourist sights. Having a kitchen (with coffee pot, kettle, dishes, utensils, cooking pots, etc.) in our room was great, since eating out was so expensive. There were 9 of us in three apartments. All of our rooms had different lay-outs, and one of them had a large living room where we could all gather comfortably (Apt. 2) Very friendly, helpful innkeepers, also!
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Everything.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: so clean, peaple very nice☺︎ I was able to make very wonderful memories. thank you.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: No fuss, just go and enjoy. Loved being able to cook a bit since eating out is crazy expensive.
Cons: Parking spots are difficult sometimes. The water smelled of sulfur.

Excellent 9.0
Pros: The staff was friendly and very helpful by giving us a room on arrival early in the morning and then moving us to a suite
Cons: The location could be better
Excellent 9.4
Pros: Location was easy walking distance to many shops and restaurants. Staff was friendly and helpful.
Cons: They say that they provide a hot breakfast, but I found that this really meant just buffet style eggs and bacon. Everything else was more of a continental breakfast style.
Excellent 8.8
Pros: Very good staff, clean and comfortable, splurge restaurant. Arranged several details including transfers and day trips via the staff. Quick walk to old town in both directions - reflecting pool or Hallgrimskirka. Solid.
Cons: Not cheap, rooms are not large, but that's not their fault.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Quiet location, but 10 min walk to everything. Breakfast buffet (hot) included. Absolutely best staff attentive, accommodating, engaging. Houses one of the finer restaurants in the city plus a nice bar downstairs. Tea and coffee and mini bar in the room. Would absolutely stay again.
Cons: Single rooms on the top floor are drafty because of the balcony doors.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Perfect hotel, excellent breakfast, very comfortable bed, bath amenities etc. Very close to central street and other things.
Cons: Elevator looks a little bit outdated but it doesn't matter
Excellent 9.6
Pros: Room was clean, nice bathroom, nice and hot for drying out things as it rained all day. Breakfast was great and included. Good location between BSI bus terminal and the main shopping area about a 7 min walk. Staff are very helpful..!
Excellent 9.2
Pros: This is a lovely, old-fashioned boutique hotel. It's on a quiet street a short walk from restaurants, museums, etc. The Soley and Eco products were a nice touch, as was the artwork throughout the hotel.
Cons: It's a bit formal, which could feel stodgy if that's not your thing. But you'll be made to feel welcome in any case.
Excellent 9.2
Pros: We’ve been there 7 times and love the art and the neighborhood which is quiet and old Reykjavík The food is not my favorite but it is our favorite hotel and feels like home
Cons: I tripped on the entry step which was 5” high and caught my foot
Excellent 9.2
Pros: Amazing staff, decor and history of the place, accommodated a very early arrival, and requests. Love the amazing artwork found throughout.
Cons: No temperature control in room. Conditioner bottle and soap bottle didn’t work and was not replaced at housekeeping. Room was made as a double and was booked as a twin.

Excellent 8.8
Pros: Very nice hotel, staff very friendly
Cons: Lots of building work around hotel, if you want to walk to the town or bus station you have to walk in through a building site as paths are non existent. The paths outside hotel are very dangerous when icy. no shuttle bus to bus station (even though there are no paths)
Excellent 8.8
Pros: Very clean and great facilities
Cons: Rooms were a little small for the money
Excellent 9.6
Pros: The room and facilities were modern n breakfast spread was good. Plenty of car park space. As we have a rental car, the location was convenient to various tourist sites
Good 7.0
Pros: Great facilities in hotel and good breakfast
Cons: Location was a out of town
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Really clean and comfortable. The brunch buffet was delicious and all staff were very nice and helpful
Okay 4.0
Cons: It was discribed as having a pool which was not accurate because you had to pay extra for that tried to stay one night and cancel the other nights were told couldn't do it with out paying full price, won't book through kayak again
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Located directly next to domestic airport in Reykjavik - very convenient since I flew in/out of airport - walked to airport - no need to take expensive taxi - clean room - friendly staff
Excellent 8.0
Pros: Crisp, clean rooms. Sharp lines very modern look inside
Cons: Breakfast is a barely mediocre buffet for 3000isk (about $30) a person
Good 7.7
Pros: Spa was fantastic, breakfast was great but this was expected due to the price you pay.
Cons: Having a double bed which have two beds pushed together was uncomfortable and as a couple we like to be close when we sleep. On this occasion having two single duvets just made this uncomfortable. On check in they told us they were overbooked and that we should chose another of their hotels. The member of staff was rude and talking in Icelandic to other members of staff which made us uncomfortable. We ended up with a room upgrade because of the situation however this is not what we needed after a long day travelling.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Privacy and friendly staff at the reception. Good people standing behind the desk.
Excellent 8.0
Pros: Nice rooms, welcoming staff at reception, very clean and comfy. Not walking distance to downtown Reykajvik, but still a very pleasant hotel. If you are going to leisure I would make sure you have a rental car.
Cons: The restaurant wasn't that great, (underdone chicken), waitstaff wasn't friendly, especially if your breakfast wasn't part of the package. The spa staff gave contradictory information to reception staff, so better communication would've been helpful .
Excellent 10.0
Pros: The staff was very friendly and helpful with information on getting around Reykjavik. The food was excellent. Loved the Folk art and displays in the lobby. It was a very nice stay for my first visit to Iceland.
Cons: The only thing that didn't work was th TV in our room. When the staff couldn't seem to fix it we were given vouchers for a beverage of our choice from the bar. It worked out just fine, instead of sitting in our room we went out and about the city and had a great time, better than TV any day!

Pros: Great facility including kitchen and staffs that are all Nice and helpful.
Cons: It is Nice place for traveler alone because it is also a bus terminal to its local tours. You simply just got here and plan where to go.
Good 6.0
Pros: Cafe area, easy access to Sadcars
Cons: No top sheet, blanket charged extra, rooms colder than hall even with 10 people, no laundry
Good 7.3
Pros: Kitchen, luggage room, sheets provided, warm water, staff always available, free computer available
Cons: 3 restrooms/floor, walkable to city center and grocery stores but not within 10 min
Excellent 8.0
Pros: Good value for the money and facilities. Clean. Friendly staff.
Cons: No sockets or individual lights on the beds. We had to turn on the light of all the room to come in or out, waking other up. Also, no sockets available on the beds, so staying on the upper beds was really terrible!
Good 7.0
Pros: The lobby/lounge area was quite nice! I didn't get to take advantage of it but I did like the setup with the tables and the option to get a drink.
Cons: The showers could be better - between the nozzles either not staying in the holder and one shower not getting hot enough (lukewarm mostly) I wasn't impressed. But, at least they worked.
Excellent 9.0
Pros: Bus hostel is exactly a hostel at the bus stop. All tours arrive and leave from there. For me, as a solo traveler, it was the easiest place to stay. I loved the staff, all very kind. The accommodations also very clean and easy to access. Lots of people were talking about the kitchen on lasts review. The staff clean it everyday but the problem is with the guests and not with the hostel. People use the place and leave the dishes and table without clean it. The bus hostel is located very close to the city center.
Cons: The kitchen should be bigger or have 2.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Was really close to anywhere in walking distance, and was super clean
Good 7.1
Pros: It was my second time staying here this year because of the location and price. The tour buses pick up & drop off at the hostel which is in the main Reykjavík bus terminal.
Cons: You have to put the duvet cover yourself.
Excellent 8.3
Pros: The rest rooms very practical with toilette and shower together at the same room
Cons: The brds arr not comfy and very brittle, you always get the feeling that the bed will get broken at any moment
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Friendly and helpful very nice could not have found a better spot!
Cons: It did rain a day or two but no trouble otherwise

Pros: good value and really close to everything you want to see
Cons: the shower on the ground floor was borderline to hot.
Excellent 8.0
Pros: Breakfast at Aurora Guest House is abundant with food and sweets: jams and jams. a rich selection of black and white bread. The choice is varied: cheese, ham, sausage, sweets. coffee is very good, tea is all day and free. A truly unique case in Iceland. Aurora Guest House is in a prime location in the very center of the Old Town. At 200m there is stop No.8, where there is a stop for all departures. Right next to the hotel. The hotel is warm and good. The helpful staff - boyfriend and girlfriend - treats clients well, answers any questions they have, helps them to choose tourist routes, orders airport transfer. Luggage can be left free of charge after check-out. Just outside is the Ringing Church, the oldest swimming pool in Reykjavik, right next to the bus station and the main shopping street. I would definitely recommend it to all my friends and acquaintances who travel to Reykjavik. About 1.2 km away is Perlan, a beautiful Reykjavik tourist attraction. A great planetarium with an exciting science fiction film on the northern lights, a great introduction to the ice cave, and a wonderful space for interactive educational space. The emphasis is that we humans need to protect our land from plastic pollution.
Cons: viskas buvo OK.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: This was clean comfortable small room in downtown Reykjavik. They have a very efficient check in process. The breaksfast was great. It is a very convenient location close to all of the main pedestrian areas.
Cons: The breakfast room was crowded, but everyone was able to get food and eat. An extra towel / bathmat for the shower could have been nice. I used my towel to dry the floor since I was just staying one night.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: location was wonderful, and easy to explane when you are lost because there was a pizza restaurant near by. Also, it was one block away from the famous church. Breakfast was wonderful. couldn't stop eating the bread they provided.
Cons: it maybe difficult to use the restroom, since the building i stayed was a modified house, which had only one bathroom( just one) on the floor with three bed room.
Excellent 8.0
Pros: The breakfast Good location Easy check in/out
Cons: Small kitchen
Good 7.9
Pros: Clean room. Great location! Hot coffee on all the time.
Cons: Very unclean bathroom. Smelled like urine the whole stay until it was cleaned the morning before I left! The younger staff members were stiff and cold. They didnt seem to like their job and seemed rushed. It was very uncomfortable. Our unit was out of toilet paper. When I mentioned it to the young female staff member, she seemed annoyed and stressed that she had to go remedy the problem. It took 24 hours to receive the toilet paper! The older gentleman was kind and understanding. He let me check in early and eat breakfast. That was appreciated! Not enough kitchen tools to properly cook with, but, I made it work. Room was clean and perfect for what I needed.
Excellent 8.0
Pros: Very generous breakfast! I hardly had to eat the rest of the day!! The warm bread is an extra treat!
Cons: NOt much room to store the food I cooked for myself. I stayed for a week and needed to keep some groceries around.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Easy and close access to Bus stop 8 at the Church where you can catch your tour bus or smart bus out to the Blue Lagoon or Airport. Comfortable rooms and great breakfast! Close to a great Pizzeria too with delicious Pizza.

Pros: It was nice place close to Reykjavik down town. A owner was very friendly, let us to check inn earlier that 15:00 and we really want to say thank for it! I and my family enjoyed a morning breakfast with tasty home made coffee. A room was small, but nice and clean - close to bathroom - we got everything for 1 night stay.

Cons: Noise can be heard from room.
Excellent 8.0
Pros: The location is Superb, central, and right by the Hallgrimskirkja church (see picture) and a bus stop for which many tour operators use as a drop off/pick up point. The kitchen is big and very well equipped - everything you need to prepare and cook food, and every room has its own personal storage space for groceries. The room I had was small and basic, but again had everything you need for clothing and storage, and even a little desk and chair for you use a laptop. Most importantly, the bed linen was very clean and fresh. When you go out during the day you can lock your room and take your key with you. Finally, maybe I was just lucky, but I had good interactions with other guests, they were all pleasant and polite, and everyone cleaned up after themselves in the kitchen which was really nice :-)
Cons: THESE ARE NOT COMPLAINTS - JUST OBSERVATIONS :-) I feel to leave an honest review I should mention a few things. The room was a tad warm for me, you can open the window but it doesn't open far, and the radiator was on, but this will probably suit most people - I just really don't feel the cold. The door to the room was a sliding one, which rattled slightly at night, but an easy fix - just tuck a bit of folded paper in between the door and door frame - fixed! Finally, do bear in mind its a guesthouse, there will be people coming and going at all times from the property, and people may come back in the early hours (like myself) from northern lights tours, and may (unintentionally) be a bit noisy. Also other reviewers have mentioned the bathroom is busy in the mornings - well if so, there's another on the second floor, and a third toilet downstairs, and if that's really a problem do as another reviewer said - shower at night :-)
Good 7.5
Pros: Got instant help from host. Good locatiom near bus stop.
Cons: Too hard to open entrance. Lucky got someone inside to open door.
Excellent 8.2
Pros: Great location, friendly staff, very basic but cheerful rooms, perfect for budget traveller
Cons: Not soundproof
Good 6.0
Pros: The view of Hallgrímskirkja church outside the window is really nice. The location of the guesthouse is convenience, Bonus supermarket is nearby.
Cons: If you have heavy luggage, it may not suitable for you. Almost the rooms are on the upstairs and there’s no lift. Also, the guesthouse is located at the hillside. The ceiling lamp in room cannot be switched on, only the desk lamp and floor lamp can be used. There are no information about the WiFi passwords in the room , the public areas and the email from guesthouse. The soundproofing of the room is not good, you can hear others walking or even the snoring. Besides, I have requested a double room, but actually I have got a twin room.
Excellent 8.3
Pros: Close to city , decent price for a guesthouse.
Cons: Little on the basic but well priced, we really only used to sleep and make breakfast .
Good 6.7
Pros: Lovely staff excellent location and nice big kitchen
Cons: Bathroom was worst I have ever seen in any hotel Shower was basically a old smelly cube you stood in I actually avoided showering it was so bad

Good 7.0
Pros: Breakfast and location were great.
Cons: Room was basic but fine for what I needed
Okay 5.0
Pros: The breakfast was good, and the reception very good.
Cons: The rooms shown in the photos are not the same we got.luckily instead of my brother and his girlfriend it was me and him, as the surprise would have been a total flop. Of the 10 rooms i booked during our stay in Iceland, this was the most expensive and less deserving. The sink in the toilet was simply the size of my hand, with a very unclean curtain. No fan in the toilet which means the water from heat creates condensation that stays there all night. There was 1 towel for the two of us, i didn t even bother asking one.
Excellent 9.6
Pros: The hotel is right at the church which is a great pick up for all tours - the room was quite warm, all what we needed for our stay
Cons: Bathroom was small but it’s understandable
Good 7.5
Pros: Excellent location and very good value for money.
Cons: The room was quite small, but very comfortable. We were in the fourth floor and there was no lift, that would be our only complain.
Good 7.1
Pros: Walking distance to the main strip, restaurants, shopping, night life. Staff was very friendly. Cute lobby/lounge area.
Cons: Room was tiny!! Very outdated. Bathroom smelled strongly of urine. Wasn't horrible, 3 star hotel. Wouldn't stay more than a night or 2
Excellent 9.0
Pros: We loved this hotel, staff were very welcoming and friendly on our first trip to Iceland. The staff were also very helpful when it came to what to see in Reykjavik & also found places for us to eat as both my partner and I are vegan. We definitely want to revisit Iceland & would be more than happy to stay at Hotel Leifur Eririksson again in the future.
Cons: It wasn’t anything we didn’t like. However at the hotel there very few vegan options at the breakfast which was included with our stay.
Okay 4.5
Pros: Cheap
Cons: Crummy bathroom with no place or room for anything. Sulfurous stench water (not filtered as is needed in Reykjavik water system). Noisy smoker area outside tenant windows that kept me awake until four thirty am then restarted at six am). Paper thin walls. Dirty carpets. Just a dump that’s milking tourists.
Excellent 8.0
Pros: Hotel Leifur Eiriksson is clean and the staff are friendly. It is right in the center of town so walking distance to many of the main attractions. The complimentary breakfast consisted of cereal, bread and a few toppings, cheese, cold meat, pickled herring etc. They also had pancakes, for those who like a simple breakfast, perfect. I was on the top floor and the signal from the wifi was rather poor, however, go down to the communal areas and you get full fibre optic speed. The room was rather small, especially as the slope of the roof prevents one from standing in much of the room, tall people may find this problematic. The bed was quite comfortable. I have stayed here on multiple occasions and I would stay here again.
Excellent 9.2
Pros: The complimentary breakfast was excellent. Farooq, was brilliant and couldn’t have been more helpful. He gave great local recommendations and tips.
Cons: The bedrooms are too dark. More lights are needed in each room.
Good 7.0
Pros: This hotel seems well placed in Reykjavic and makes most of the sights, bars, and restaurants feel in easy reach. It is outside one of the citys tourist spots, beging the church which many people come over to see during their stay. It clean and efficient, the staff seemed to be pleasant and polite at all times and will make the effort to accomodate your requests when checking in and leaving the hotel regarding the storage of bags if your early or have a later flight. Our stay included a buffet style breakfast, whilst quite limited it did make the stay more pleasant and sets you up for a day sight-seeing. The room was clean and well kept throughout our stay. We had the good fortune of a small veranda which allowed us to step outside and see the wonderful sights over the waters of Reykjavic and into the distance to view the mountains. A real bonus.
Cons: There is nothing but minor gripes about this establishment. The wifi didn't seem to reach the upper floors so that was a problem. The locks on the patio door where loose and becasue there was a adjacent room shared with out patio this was a small concern for security and privacy. The shower space was very limited in our room and I actually gave myself quite a nasty bruise as the sink is somewhat hidden by the shower curtain. Just be careful if you drop a tower or something or you may well bang your head. Another small issue is the noise level from the streets. There was no double glazing in our room so once the traffic starts in a morning you hear it!. Imagine somebody driving up a gravel drive all morning.. That's what it's like because most vehicles are equiped with ice/snow tyres which are quite noisy on the roads. I really would really stay here again, so that about sums up my feeling about the Hotel Leifur Eiriksson.
