Pros: An excellent hotel/apartment in a superb location. The room was spacious, comfortable and had a well equipped kitchenette. All the members of staff we met were very helpful and willing to chat about the local area and places to visit. We arrived very early but Maria was able to lock our luggage away so that we could explore Reykjavík prior to our room being ready. We would happily recommend 41 - A Townhouse Hotel to friends and family. Thank you for an excellent stay!

Everyone was cheerful, communicative, and eager to help. Room was well designed and the Kitchenette was especially welcome. Unusually spacious room with excellent shower. Great breakfast (not a full cooked breakfast but great variety and quality and the gentleman who was in charge of the breakfast was a delight--well-traveled and a native of Reykjavik, humorous and helpful). I even enjoyed the church bells--they were unobtrusive and never kept us up at night.

Pros: Staff is incredible, we have made friend with the staff since our first stay at Kvosin. Breakfast is also great value and rivals any other breakfast around (we have tried a few other places in the city center and no one comes closer). The beds are very comfortable and the rooms very spacious. Everything is extremely clean. We highly recommend this hotel for staying in Reykjavik.

Cons: It’s loud. You can hear the people walking around upstairs quite loudly. Also because there is no air you have to have the windows open so there is a lot of street noise. On top of that the church next door rings it’s bell every 20 mins. Every hour I get, but every 20 mins was a bit much. That said with ear plugs and a pillow on my head I figured out how to sleep just fine.

Pros: The hotel decor in this hotel is really well designed. The lobby, the lounge, the restaurant & the rooms were all super cool. We loved it! We stayed in a really great room. It had a living room with a pullout that our 2 year old slept on & a great big king in the bedroom. The bathroom had a really cool clawfoot tub & big shower. I loved the decor in our room! Blackout curtains were great as we were jet lagged & the sun doesn't go down in the Summer iceland. Breakfast was yummy & the coffee was excellent. Everything is VERY expensive in Iceland but this hotel was pricey even for Iceland. Luckily we had a free night from hotels.com do we only had to pay the taxes. I'm very impressed with Canopy by Hilton though & hope to stay in another one of their hotels.

Cons: Breakfast manager refused to help with my dietary requirements when asked. Gave us our seat at breakfast, so we went to get something, to come back to find our table given away. Rooms hot and humid. No Aircon. Beds uncomfortable. Much better hotels out there!

NOT ACCEPTABLE to then be kept waiting almost an hour when we returned to the hotel for Housekeeping to finally do our room. We were told they were on break. Terrible service.

It was like a airport 17 floors hostel with 1000more guests. Sometimes you will waiting the elevator from 5 minutes. And it can come a totally full! Far from good restaurant, and keep in mind - in Iceland you haven’t any normal taxi APP Looks like at room cleans only the bed and bathroom. Floor was dirty always. Room is comfortable (maybe because we rent the most expensive Lux Tower at 16 floor). Well designed, but you haven’t hygienic bags at restroom (as cosmetic and manicure kit). For us it means nothing. The most horrible things happen when we leave our room. Huge peoples traffic, weird buffet and bar with burgers and sandwiches (anybody in this place knows about healthy meals?). And of course windy lobby - because the door with this peoples traffic are always opened and they haven’t any AC heating system on entrance. From 23 Aug to 02 Sep we stay at this hotel. Spend 5420 Euro for it - like a five-star lux (but of course it was cheap and bad stay)

Reception just informed me that it is hotel policy. I did not found any information about this after my stay. Also hotel was near building site and at 6 o'clock a tractor started to work and was beeping loudly the whole morning: not the sleep I imagined after a week long hike.

We did not rent a car and pick up by yours was so easy at the hotel - right by the Blue Bus stop. Grocery stores were also close. Our room had a mini fridge. The breakfast was also very good. Other reviews have mentioned the shower issues that have no rim so water does go out onto the floor easily - but easy to cope with extra towels. I suggest they change that. We were able to open the windows for fresh air sleeping. Ask for the marina side for your room to avoid the street noise. Free parking is located in a marina parking lot close to the hotel. Reykjavik is expensive - at restaurants we split main dishes and each ordered our own salads. Most restaurants provide drinking water. Happy Hours were the best deals.

Cons: The biggest issue was the construction site RIGHT infront of the hotel. So one could not sleep in at all and had construction workers right infront of you at 0700. This was annoying beyond. The breakfast was sub-standard - especially as there were no Icelandic special stuff for breakfast like salmon and herring etc - and it was incredibly expensive for what there was. For my three days there I had breakfast once as it was poor.

At night, bar patrons step outside to smoke constantly and make a ton of noise until the wee hours. We felt like we were being punished for using booking.com. I won’t recommend the hotel or stay there in future, and I am less inclined to use booking.com in future. This was a rip-off.

I arrived early and although I wasn't allowed to check in super early, I did manage to check after 1 rather than wait until 3. Also, when I couldn't get a bottom bunk, one staff member (don't remember his name!) went to check a different room so I don't go all the way up again with my baggage and actually put my bedding on for me which was lovely. The area is absolutely fantastic and is bang in in the centre. Lots of nice restaurants nearby and good supermarkets that's aren't as expensive as the one opposite and are still nearby...

Cons: 1) Unhygienic and unclean kitchen, open trash in kitchen, sink, platform was stinky and sticky. Even hallway near kitchen had fowl smell. 2) No hostel rules displayed anywhere in dorm rooms or any other place. People staying were not considerate of others comfort. Talking on phone inside dorm room early mornings was very disturbing. Rooms are next to bus stop, it was very noisy. 3) Heard by a staff member that hostel is occupied by 180 guests, which is huge crowd everywhere, specially one small kitchwn per floor wasn't enough, was always busy. Brought in notice of staff above matters but did not see any immediate action or wasn't taken seriously. I found, picture you get at reception of hostel is entirely upside down once you enter the hostel. Reception is pretty neat and good looking as their restaurant shares the same area :)

Cons: There are not many accessible sockets in my room (maybe in other rooms would be different). I think there might be one or two hidden between the bed and the wall but I just didn’t bother to check. There is no tea kettle in the room but you can ask for one at the reception, same as iron and ironing broad. Everything else was excellent!

Cons: Apart from the ground area where the reception is, it was a pretty dirty hostel. The toilets, shower and kitchen were awful. I felt dirty having a shower there :/ Also, the bed was very comfortable except when the feathers from the pillow were poking me (I'm not joking..). Cons: Not a real problem, but the lack of a kitchen hood may be an issue if someone wants to cook smelly foods in the winter. As we stayed there in the summer, we just opened the door to the balcony during cooking. We could also appreciate it if there was a small table to eat. Finally, it is a strange feeling to walk through an empty restaurant to reach the elevator, but no issue at all!

Give precise directions for each check in step and ensure that each operation is fully functional. (Buzz through into cafe took multiple attempts before operating.) 3. Contact Reception as step one is utterly confusing when there are three devices, only one of which has direct dialling of number (and is not the required device) ....and so on.

Cons: I booked two apartments. One of them was on the ground floor without windows only with the window in on the ceiling. It wasn't attic/loft, it was a hole in the ground for the window. For the same price in the same booking, the room of my friends was on the third floor with a view of the church. I think price would be different for these rooms. Moreover, the shower room was dirty and there were no hooks for the towels or clothes.

Cons: The hotel is situated just a twenty minute walk from the city centre. The hotel also offers free parking, we foumd this very useful as we rented a car. The hotel itself was very clean and modern. We did not use the spa facilities but they are availble for a resonable price. If you are looking for a nice relaxing stay i would definitely recommend this hotel.

Cons: I dont know if the description of the location is wrong or not but I understood that the hostel was close of the bus terminal... actually it is for the airport shuttle but the other terminal was 15-20 min walk away and it is only for one compagny: Reykjavik Excursion. If you book your excursion with another compagny, make sure you ask for a pick up! Also there is nothing around, no supermarket, grocery or restaurant. City center is not so far away if you like walking. However, if you dont want to walk, or if do not have a car, it is not a easy location.

Cons: The hotel is located on streets lined with bars. We stayed during the summer, so we had to keep the windows open for ventilation, the room was still very warm though. The noise from the streets below was very loud, making it near to impossible to sleep. After one night, we ended up cancelling the rest of our reservation, and finding a different hotel to stay at.

I had especially requested no attics and a good view as I have claustrophobia and need a window that looks out on the open ,. on arrival my friends were given their requested room but when it came to me I was told that they could not meet my requirement and when I insisted the gentlemen and another women at the reception told that I should be content with the idea that my friends have their desired room and be happy with that . Now that was a shocker! Is this how you are supposed to speak to your customer? I found the comment to be racist and very rude, my last stop was Reykjavik and the hotel left a bad feeling after a beautiful 9 day trip around the island country. I will never recommend this hotel and the last and not the least, my window view that of a building construction!

Cons: Our original room was very basic. The hallway outside the room was dark and the carpet was in terrible condition with a huge rip right outside our door. The shower was very small. Because both of us use C-Pap machines for sleeping I had to run extension cords from one side of the room to the other and then under the bed to plug these in. The location is not ideal as it is somewhat removed from the city center. Our dining choices were very limited as there are no restaurants within walking distance. On our first day we ate in the main floor restaurant, ordering two hamburgers with potatoes, one soft drink and one glass of wine. The food was okay but not great. The cost was $80 USD. We had subsequent meals in the student center at the nearby University that were much better and more reasonably priced.

Pros: The breakfast in the morning was included in the price & helps save money!
Cons: Kitchen not very nice but it did the job. It’s about 8 minute drive to the center, there’s a bus system but the reception wasn’t familiar with it, no ride share (Lyft/Uber) but taxi might be available. If you want to go out at night I might suggest a place closer to the center just to not have to use taxi/drive.

Pros: The facilities were clean and the staff was welcoming. Breakfast was interesting.... So is every breakfast bar at hostel/guesthouse style lodging.
Cons: I knew what type of facility its was so I knew what I was getting into. All around solid performance.

Pros: There's a common use kitchen downstairs that was really convenient, and the staff was extremely helpful and polite. Great wifi (strong signal).
Cons: The building itself seemed a bit more worn down than I expected (not necessarily a bad thing), and the accomodations were pretty bare bones. The bathrooms were maintained, but were pretty bare as well. Maybe a small shelf or table in the bathrooms for putting your clothes off the floor would be a great start.

Cons: directly next to a main road, so it is noisy also during the night. not the best value for the money (but this is problem almost with everything in Iceland)
