Pros: Staff was very helpful and pleasant with tours, directions, getting back to airport, and any other questions people had. Breakfast was sufficient for a hostel and this was good because eating out could get pricey in Reykavik.
Excellent10.0
Pros: Best facilities, awesome common spaces, kitchen, strong wifi. Very clean and well-appointed rooms. Staff is very kind and helpful and not arrogant even if the bar area attracts trendy clientele
Cons: Street noise required earplugs (but the location couldn't be better so it's understandable)

Pros: Great location, huge facility with a lot of group/private rooms, awesome common areas and a big bar/restaurant area that is popular with locals and travelers alike.
Excellent9.4
Pros: Great place, friendly staff, and tons of character. The bar and food are so good that locals and other visitors from the area will visit even if they're not staying at the hostel. Location could not be better. Within 2-10 minute walk of Laugavegur (one of the main shopping and dining areas), Harpa, and convenience stores (e.g. 10-11). Highly recommended.
Cons: Walls were a little thin, but it's a hostel so I didn't go into the experience expecting a quiet evening alone.
Excellent10.0
Pros: Kex is a social hub so there’s always something going on in the bar and restaurant area

Pros: Easy walk or bus to downtown, grocery across the street to save $ on food and great staff. Recommend it!
Cons: It’s a little cramped and noisy, but that is true of most hostels.
Excellent10.0
Pros: I loved the friendly staff. I absolutely loved the sleeping capsules as it provided privacy. It even had its own TV! It’s across the street from a grocery store if you wanted to get food.
Excellent9.7
Pros: I like the futuristic feel of this hostel. The bed was comfortable with several USB ports to charge your electronics. The facilities were clean and they provide shampoo. Located across the street from Kronan grocery store makes this a perfect option for me since everything is expensive in Iceland. I will definitely stay here again.
Cons: This would be the perfect hostel if the guest that are checking in after 11pm would be quiet. L

Pros: This place was clean, at the bus stop and had a great community feel. The communal kitchen was great (minus the lack of freezer - what are you supposed to do with ice cream?) along with the access to a locker room and laundry. Great access to town and a helpful, friendly staff that remembers you.
Cons: It was IMPOSSIBLE to sleep both nights, especially when we moved to the first floor - it was only until midnight - 6am that the sound of multiple doors slamming subsided. The sound wasn't subtle - it literally sounded like the doors were slamming nonstop for hours. There has to be some way to change the closing mechanisms!! I had earplugs in and still could hear every single open and close. We slept horribly as a result. Also, the showers were the only ones in all of Iceland that were not hot - lukewarm at best. That was definitely a disappointment.

Pros: The rooms and bathrooms are clean and the layout is organized. But the best part of this place is the staff. I never met any staff member, at any time, be anything less than friendly, courteous, and helpful. At 2 am in the kitchen, staff was more than willing to clean up after me so that I could get to sleep. Front desk made detailed recommendations, and had information about times, availability, and transportation memorized. Beata at the front desk was especially helpful checking out, making sure I could get access to the kitchen on my last day, and being very friendly. This was a great place to stay!
Excellent8.0
Pros: Room was clean and bed was comfortable. The price was right! Breakfast was very satisfying. The staff were very pleasant.
Cons: With 10 beds and a check out time of 10:00 AM I had a problem getting into the toilet. I suggest that there be an alternative access to use another toilet if someone is showering and dressing in a locked bathroom! A suggestion: Please inform new hostlers how to turn the light switch off. I came in from the airport and went into room at 2:00 AM. Put the light on but could not shut it. At some point a 'sleeper' go up and showed me to press it twice!
