Portland hotels near Morrison Bridge

Cons: As a frequent traveler, I've stayed in my fair share of hotels of varying degrees of comfort. Upon checking into the Paramount hotel, I was very pleased with the hotel and my room- however, my pleasant experience stopped there. At 1 AM my first night, the guest in the room next to me was being overly disruptive. I finally called the front desk, spoke to April, and hoped it would be taken care of. The guest continued to be loud and I woke up every hour- at one point she was screaming at a hotel employee that he was assaulting her- until I called again at 4 AM and was told that the guest was being escorted out. However, this process was also loud and kept us up until close to 5 AM- and ultimately, the hotel took 4 hours to solve a problem that I called about at 1 AM. I understand that a loud neighbor is not the hotel's fault- what happened next was. I never received any sort of follow up from them, explaining or apologizing for our terrible night. Since I was not contacted, I stopped by the front desk and spoke to Jeremy- he was rude and did not apologize or offer any explanation as to what happened or what compensation we could expect. I stopped the desk a second time and requested that a manager call me on my cell phone- I was going to be out of my room all day. I left my cell phone number with Jeremy- and received no call. I returned to the hotel around 7PM and once again approached the front desk- I was told there was no available manager and that I wouldn't be able to speak to one until 9 AM the next morning (after I was already expected to check out). Finally, Charlie at the front desk was able to get a hold of a manager who said that she had tried calling my room (even after I specified that I would be out all day and specifically left my cell phone number) and that they would compensate one night of my valet parking ($39). Through all of this, I still never spoke to a manager and never received a formal apology (though a manager did call me on my flight back to New York the next day). Overall, the horrible customer service and miscommunication of the hotel staff left me upset and, frankly after the events of the night before, unsafe. For the cost of this hotel, I expected better service and a better compensation for my lost night of sleep. My stay was handled in an unprofessional manner- I certainly will not be returning and urge others to choose other accommodations when visiting Portland.

Cons: Doorman were terrible. Never opened the door once for us. Three of them just stood there and watched my wife and I open the door ourselves. I have no problem opening doors, but whats the point of having three doorman if they don't do anything. Minor detail. Just thought it was funny. Not a hard job.

Cons: Bed hurt my back (not normal), loud jacuzzi, TV channel surfing was a bit awkward.

Cons: Walls were a bit thin?

Cons: Toilet stopped up twice but staff were right on it when notified.

Cons: 45$ for valet parking seems a little overpriced, but I’m not actually sure what’s standard for this area.

Cons: Spartan “fitness center “, Cracked sink Long wait time at front desk and getting front desk on phone

Cons: What’s not to like?

Cons: My room (1212) was quite small, especially the bathroom. Because I wanted a single large bed and the hotel was pretty full, I think maybe I had that oddball room that most older hotels have that are squeezed into a non-regular space. In this case, it also happened to be near housekeeping, which was noisy in the morning with carts being banged around. The room was fine but smaller than one might expect. The bathroom was ok for me but would have been an issue for someone who spends more time getting ready. There was not even enough room to stand squarely in front of the tiny sink because a bookcase/shelving unit was put on the wall right in the area in front of sink. I had to shave at an odd angle, off to the side of the sink.

Cons: It is not that I didn't like it but there was no steam exhaust fan in the shower. But heck, small detail!!! Sort of stiff parking however...$33 before my valet tip. Was for 24 hours however.

Cons: I really just wanted to get some sleep. There was a lot of street noise, even in the middle of the night. Who knew Portland was so loud?

Cons: It felt like the Tower of Terror, staff was rude when checking us in, room felt gross and was ridiculously small and crammed in a corner. The lady at the front desk quoted us an insanely high price, and when I said cheaper was available online she said “well I guess you should book that then.” When to check in 5 minutes later and felt like she deliberately gave us the worst room furthest from the elevator on the lowest floor. They were also under construction which I didn’t realize till I was in the room and there was a piece of paper informing me. Amenities were a joke. Regret booking this place when there were a dozen better options in the same area.

Cons: Parking was not explained very well, and expensive. The valets ignored us for over 10 min before we drove off and parked in the garage that was less than a block away. Turned out to be the same garage the valet uses, and has a tunnel connected to the hotel. Room was dark due to only having one small window in the corner.

Cons: The bathroom sink was annoying. The faucet was barely inside the bowl, which made a mess when using the sink. So it was difficult to use the sink as counter space, which was lacking. No other complaints. Everything else was great.

Cons: Loved everything!

Cons: The hotel is dated. The look can be charming. But I don't think that chipped paint, old and over-exposed grout, faded/worn carpets, tough mattresses are part of the decor. Maybe other rooms in the hotel have been updated, but my room was not. I also faced a very load street/area so I would recommend asking for an updated room (if they have any), and for a room in a quiet location.

Cons: Staff unhelpful. Reservation was cancelled when it shouldn't have been. Small beds and rooms. Bathrooms just okay. expensive for what you get.

Cons: Flowers were a little pass their time and bathroom needed a little work. Lightning in the bathroom was poor and a magnificent mirror would have been helpful .

Cons: Room was very small. Shower head was awful, tub did not drain.

Cons: Just two things: The love seat and chairs in my room looked a little old, not in bad shape or anything, just old. The bathroom light was a little dim.

Cons: The parking charge of $36 overnight is usurious; we had to park two cars and when asked if they would comp one of them due to our circumstances, they refused. This will cause me to stay someplace else next time.

Cons: Musty smell in the room. Not the most comfortable beds.

Cons: Pricey but not out of line for area hotels.

Cons: Because I used the door knocker that said I didn't need sheets and towels changed, no one ever came to my room to take the garbage or give us more TP, etc. thankfully there was an extra roll in the room. And one of the valet guys was rude to my uber driver when she came to pick us up. It was uncalled for.

Cons: Valet service an absolute disaster. Front desk unable to give good rec's on what to do and where to eat.

Cons: That I had to leave.

Cons: Hotel was quite expensive for the size of the rooms

Cons: The rooms are a bit small, so you might want to upgrade to the larger rooms when you book. No closet space.

Cons: Wish we would have known they were doing construction on the lobby. It was noisy so they should have given us something extra for the trouble

Cons: Valet is a bit pricey. No view from our window, but it didn't bother me much.

Cons: Rooms are some of the smallest that I've stayed at with very thin walls. Expect to hear your neighbors using the bathroom...

Cons: Unfortunately the ground floor was undergoing renovations, which had I known I would have booked elsewhere.

Cons: The bathroom is tiny, with outdated fixtures and mold stains. The provided toiletries are cheesy Tommy Bahama brand with an intense pina colada scent that I was a bit embarrassed to smell like all day. The bed only comes with a comforter, strangely folded on top of a bare fitted sheet, so you have to make your own bed. The king bed comes with two of these, each covering half the bed. Just weird. When I asked the front desk for room service to give me a top sheet, I was told I could find one in the closet and to make the bed myself.

Cons: Location, quiet, good staff.

Cons: With there was a hot tub. Also, lots of homeless people camped very close to hotel made area less than great for walking around at night.

Cons: I thought the comforters were a little too warm, it would be nice to have something a little lighter

Cons: Parking on site is $25 charge per day, this was not included in the cost of the room. The bathroom is also an odd design, the shower does not have a door or curtain.

Cons: Thermostat is pretty much decoration only - I was FREEZING in my room on cold nights. I would turn it up to 71 or so and could hear it struggling to turn on, but never saw the temp get above around 61. Luckily the covers were very warm on the bed, but did not enjoy dressing or working in a cold room.

Cons: The rooms were too hot as they only have central air, and they can only have either heat or air conditioning on at any given time. My room faced the highway and the train tracks, so it was quite loud. They did however provide earplugs. But because my room is so hot, I had to sleep with the windows open, and unfortunately both of the screens on my windows were so severely torn they were worthless. I informed the staff about the screens and the next day they were still torn when I returned. I called the manager and he immediately came up and fix the screens for me and offered me an upgrade to a suite. So overall not that bad!

Cons: One of the door guys was a little rude. He was short in his responses and seemed bothered by simple questions. Not really a big deal though. Didn't take away at all from my great experience at the hotel. Maybe he was just having a bad day .

Cons: Paper thin walls. I could have joined in the neighbors' conversation. Long line when checking in (at 4 pm) and rooms still weren't ready.

Cons: Parking wasn't expensive but unexpected cost.

Cons: There wasn't AC in the room.

Cons: No microwave in room.

Cons: The room was small. It had no hot water. Parking was horrible.

Cons: Outdated heating system. Was stuck on all night in one of our rooms. No air conditioning. Old bed linens. Frayed sheets.
