Cons: The street noise. We requested a quiet room at check-in, but were told that none were available. We were in room 14, first floor and immediately above the bus stop on the High Street. We were kept awake until 4 00 am by drunk students, sirens and traffic noise. In excess of £400 is an awful lot of money to pay for 3 hours sleep.

Cons: The bathroom was not en suite to this room but down some stairs; this information did not appear on the booking.com website until after I had paid for the room and appeared in the confirmation information. It wasn't a problem for us but might be for some guests. The wifi code provided to my friend at check in didn't work and there was no information in the room as to how to contact the owner/manager of the guest house if there were any problems. There was no hand soap in the separate bathroom.

Cons: The bed was tooooo soft which other people may like but for my bad back wasn't that great. Also the shower didn't stay very hot for long as I like super hot showers. The second night someone set off a fire alarm and it kept going off, but once I called the managers they were very quick to respond and check things out and also made sure that the guests were fine. So that negative actually turned into a positive.

Cons: I had originally booked a double room online but when we arrived it really was a bit small and very brown!!! So maybe you need to move up the list to enjoy this Manor more. Pros: The cleanliness, the reasonable space - including the bathroom - the quiet and attractive location [which is nevertheless in quick walking distance of the centre e.g. 5 mins. from the Ashmolean], the pleasant and helpful staff. In my case I was in a corridor which included a kitchen/pantry with refrigerator etc., which was certainly a bonus, more than compensating for the few stairs!
Cons: A few stairs before and after the lift to be negotiated with luggage - but it would be worse than petty to make an issue of that!

Pros: This hostel is amazing, I’d definitely recommend booking it for a short stay in Oxford! It is situated a 5 min walk away from the train station and 5-7 min walk away from the Main Street in Oxford. I stayed in the 6-bed female only room which was great - the beds were comfortable, my bed was already made when I arrived, the room was a decent size, lockers were available in the room, each bed had a charging port. The staff were super helpful - they took me on a tour of the hostel facilities when I first arrived and were available to provide recommendations for things to see and do in Oxford. The hostel has a large, well equipped kitchen with free tea and coffee, a TV room, an outdoor terrace area with a bar and a dining room/common area. There were several toilets and showers available at different spots around the hostel. The wifi was also great! All in all - I really enjoyed my stay and would highly recommend the hostel.

Cons: There were lots of stairs to climb to enter the hostel - but this won’t be an issue unless your bag is too heavy to lift. The beds in my room didn’t have reading lights but this was only a minor issue.

Cons: We were in a room with heavy scaffolding blocking the entire two windows. Men were talking, yelling & working/pounding in front of the two windows every morning. They totally ignored us who needed sleeping in the room. There were no privacy nor courtesy. We were not informed or asked if it's Ok for the reception to assign such a downgraded room (the windows were blocked by scaffolding entirely)to us at check in either. The service and facilities were at most a one star hotel this time. I stayed in this hotel for about 5 times in the last two years because we were visiting our daughter who was studying at Worcestor college(one block away). They've been always about a three stars hotel standard. But this time was the worst. We will not use this hotel any more. It's totally not worth the price & the poor facility.

Cons: The WC in the bathroom (room 133) was cramped such that your knees were up against the shower screen, the WC pan needs to be turned through 90 degrees. There was a buffet breakfast, which really does not work too well for a full cooked "English Breakfast". The fired eggs were hard and the food was not as hot as it should have been. They were very prompt at 10:00 o'clock clearing everything away. We could have done with longer parking at the hotel (say until mid-afternoon) - you have to pay for parking at the hotel from 11:00 am (room vacation time) onwards

Cons: Uber doesn't have a permit to operate in Oxford, so we asked the reception to call us a cab. The cab company apparently cancelled our request, and we ended up missing our train. This is not the hotel's fault, but they do need to find a better company to partner with.

Cons: Felt it was very, very over priced for what you get. Uncomfortable beds which shook every time the front door closed and a very noisy room. Paid vast sums for a room in which it was difficult to get a good night's sleep. Unsightly patches above the shower where the plaster was coming away don't create a great impression either. It has more of the feel of a bed and breakfast lodging (and a very expensive one at that) although breakfast wasn't available there during our stay.

Cons: The plumbing is apparently below the sewer line because there was a pump on the sink, toilet, and shower. Problem is it was unpleasantly loud. And I think they missed a plumbing trap, because the bathroom always smelled like sewer gas. But, other than that the room was lovely and quaint. Breakfast was simple but super good. Croissants, butter, jelly fruit, sandwich meats, coffee was good too.

This Hostel provides the space to get to know people. About all the time I've spent inside the hostel (excluded sleeping) was inside the big common room. I've talked to a lot of open people, we played billiard/pool, we cooked together, I found some person to go out for dinner and discussed politics during breakfast. It was mostly clean, especially taken into account how many guests check-in and out. The kitchen has everything to cook decent meals, the laundry option works fine and in the nighttime loud noise wasn't a problem at all. I would definitely stay here again, even more so traveling alone.

Cons: It is quite a big hostel, when I arrived I was kind of surprised that about 100+ persons were staying inside this accommodation. But against my expectations, this wasn't something coming to my awareness while staying, so, even so, I expected it to be a problem it wasn't. Besides this, you should expect to go to a hostel (-> sleeping in one room with 10+ people, having a low-average bathroom and shower), but when you do it is great.

Cons: We are not used to double bed and found it on the small side. For the money we paid, I expected king size bed. The mattress was hard. It’s not a hotel fault, but we couldn’t sleep as all night there was loud music from the venues close by.

Cons: We had terrible experience with the breakfast. We knew it was way overpriced but given we had short time in Oxford, we wanted to make it fast. At the Hotel we were told that the breakfast was not at the property, but when we reached the cafe indicated they knew nothing about our breakfast voucher. The staff at the cafe was not even willing to call but sent us back to the Hotel - in the Hotel there was nobody at reception. Eventually another person came by saying we don’t have to pay at the end, still the entire experience was disappointing and time consuming which was the exact thing we were trying to avoid.

I wouldn’t have reviewed or said anything but I just got about 30 emails today asking me to! Maybe they can have a different key system
