Clean and friendly
Great location, double room was quiet and very nice. Shower had great pressure. There are lots of stairs (which is fine with me) but if you need a lift/elevator, ask for a room on the ground floor.
They are experimenting with a different approach to breakfast and it isn't working. Too little space, in the basement, and the food is not up to the standard of the hotel. They acknowledged that and are working on it.
Breakfast was genuinely dismal, both the offering and the location.
Room was extremely tired. Spaces were awkward. Lighting was inadequate.
Felt it was very, very over priced for what you get. Uncomfortable beds which shook every time the front door closed and a very noisy room. Paid vast sums for a room in which it was difficult to get a good night's sleep. Unsightly patches above the shower where the plaster was coming away don't create a great impression either. It has more of the feel of a bed and breakfast lodging (and a very expensive one at that) although breakfast wasn't available there during our stay.
