Pros: One of the cleanest places I have ever stayed. Breakfast informal with a good variety of cereals and pastries etc. Although we didn't use the 24 hour pantry, it was an excellent idea. On-site, covered parking meant we didn't worry about our car being safe.

Pros: Staff are cheerful and welcoming.
My room had the facilities of a studio apartment including a lounge area and kitchenette.
In addition, midweek social events provide a chance to mingle with other guests, along with free food and drinks.
There is also free all day access to a coffee machine in the main lounge.
The price was almost the same as a similarly located standard budget hotel.

Pros: Convenient location for train station
Cons: Computers down at check-in. No hot water due to bust pipe Cold room and no soap in bathroom
5.0 Okay
Pros: The room size
Cons: The toilet cistern constantly ran when flushed until you pushed it a second time. There was a lot of noise late because of a function. The food portions were small and also the quality wasn't as good as I had expected. The TV had to be unplugged and restarted to work. The reception staff weren't really interested in the feedback. Apparently all the toilets are the same....
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is lovely. The staff were extremely pleasant & helpful.
Cons: Our room basically looked out into a wall & was modified for guests with a disability with a door to the room next door. As both of us work in care it was a bit ironic. Luckily we had a very busy weekend & only really slept in the room.

Pros: Great location, nice modern and weirdly gothic styled hotel. The designer bar and restaurant is decorated and furnished with furnishings that simply wouldn't work in any normal home. Situated next to the Tyne, baltic, restaurants and bars such as the Pitch and Piano and a easy promenade walkway along the river towards the centre, shops, more bars and restaurants. Parking is in the multi storey opposite and there's plenty of taxis at a rank which is located right outside the hotel. Prices for food and drink in the hotel are a little to expensive but don't be put off it's a really nice place and worth paying the extra to have to enjoy a few to many!!.

Pros:
Cons: £92 for breakfast which I believed was included, both the hotel and get a room blamed each other and left the customer in the dark.
We avoided breakfast in the hotel and the hotel still tried to charge for it
Suite had a standard double bed rather than a king or queen
Hotel Bar tries to move guests around in Bar once settled at a table claiming tables not marked as reserved were reserved
Generally a bad experience

Pros: As you'd expect from a HI, this is pretty decent all round. The free car park is a huge bonus for Newcastle (t's a bit tight and restricted but we managed in a dispatch van!), and the rooms are quiet and decently done out. It's actually only a mile or two from the city but situated on a very busy road which is hard to cross / navigate. Overall the price was great (think around £55?) for a fairly central and decently appointed hotel.

Pros: Great location right in the heart of Newcastle
Cons: The hotel is classed as a boutique hotel which I found this was not the case. Also the hotel does not advertise that it is above a noisy club at the weekends and the music is very loud and could be heard in our room all night and into the early hours of the morning. Would not recommend if you are wanting a good nights sleep. I would not book this hotel again.

Pros: The hotel was really well situated. The staff were very approachable and friendly. The room was also very clean and well equipped

Pros: Very clean and stylish hotel, with very nice staff and great amenities surrounding the hotel.
Cons: I don't think the bathrooms doors are suitable. I think there should be more privacy and having large gaps in the side don't offer that. Clearly this won't change it for just one person, but I probably won't return and that's a shame, as everything else was great.

Pros: Everything was good
Cons: just a shame the decor in the rooms needed a little repair and maintenance

Pros: The room was lovely especially for the price. The location is great as well The group of rugby/football lads playing the piano it was nice to hear
Cons: Not even a bottle of water in the room The cost of drinks at the bar The breakfast was shambolic, even though there was a big team of players in that is no excuse not to have food as if the hotel knows how many guests have paid for breakfast then surely they have enough food on. What food was there was cold . We had arranged to meet our son from uni and had paid for his breakfast the night before, he didnt even come in when he realised the shortage of food as he didn't have time to wait .
8.5 Excellent
Pros: The staff were friendly and helpful. The location was excellent, right on the quayside and close to town.
The room was spacious and had a lovely view. I would stay here again.
Cons: The shower was quite poor which was a shame. An updated bathroom would really transform the place. Although I’d placed the ‘do not disturb’ card on the door the cleaning staff came in the room which almost made for an awkward encounter!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Conveniently situated, very professional staff and extremely good value for money.
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Brilliant hotel right on the river and all rooms overlook the river. easy access to the city centre.
Cons:

Pros: Location
Cons: Poor heating, lights not working and dirty foyer.
7.9 Good
Pros: Although I mentioned a few things above this did not alter our lovely stay and I would stay again
Cons: Bathroom alittle dated, hot water not always available, heating very noisy, crumbs in room, lack of plugs near a mirror 1st morning at breakfast was very disappointing out of loads of food, waited for plates, milk etc but 2nd morning was much better.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The staff were very helpful and very friendly.
Cons: Thought our bathroom was a little tired.

Pros: Loved the old style building, different to what we have now come to expect from a hotel room. Really lovely staff. It would so benefit from some re-decoration, to keep it's opulence!
Cons: The only thing that spoilt it was where our room was, the noise from a bar or club next to the hotel was too much. When we spoke to the receptionist about it she was lovely and said we would have been better the other side of the hotel but we didn't know that! Will definitely come back again but ask for the other side!

Pros: Rooms and surroundings were clean, well designed and there was good access and facilities.
Cons: We had noise guests ip stairs that woke us at midnight and talked loudly for ages......after a long drive not helpful. In the morning we rose about eight and realised we could not shower as there was no hot water....all had been used....disappointing and not my usual experience of your chain. Will be going yo Newcastle again but has coloured mm/our experience in a negative way.

Pros:
Cons: Nothing at all to do with the hotel itself, it was just the 2 nights we stayed we had lots of noise, music & banging around in the rooms both above and beside us which woke me up and kept me awake.
5.0 Okay
Pros: It was clean
Cons: Room was very claustrophobic because of slanted roof. Very disappointed with the room as completely different to the pictures on booking.com. The person at reception refused to give me the same room.He also refused to give me refund when I told him that would like to find another hotel as the room was not as described on the website. I showed him the picture of the room I booked but he kept on saying though it’s not the same room but is still double bed! Probably won’t use this website and the same hotel chain in the future.
