Summary of reviews

Guests say
Guests consistently praised the hotel's excellent location, especially its proximity to the train and metro stations, making it convenient for city exploration and events like the Great North Run. The staff received high marks for being friendly and helpful, and many appreciated the breakfast selection. Some guests highlighted the grand Victorian atmosphere and spacious rooms. However, several reviews mentioned that the hotel is dated and in need of renovation, with issues such as cleanliness, noise, uncomfortable beds, broken fixtures, and extra charges for amenities like the pool and gym. Despite these drawbacks, the positives of location, service, and breakfast stood out.
