Pros: The place is clean and functional. There will never be any nasty surprises waiting for you here, just very sensible and straightforward digs.
Cons: The breakfast could have been hotter, coming as it did from a buffet. The rooms can get very hot if you don't turn the heating down before going out.
Okay 5.0
Pros: Breakfast/location fine-room very basic with heavy smell of bleach!
Cons: as above
Excellent 8.0
Pros: Really cosy place and very quiet and peaceful. Good standard of cleanliness throughout. Really helpful and kind staff.

Excellent 8.0

Cons: The room was a little too warm
Good 6.7
Pros: The peace and tranquility of the whole building along with the helpful staff
Cons: N/A
Good 6.3
Pros: Its peace and quiet in the middle of Headingley and its quirkeyness!
Okay 4.7
Pros: The hotel was clean and functional, and the grounds are beautiful.
Cons: It was not clearly stated when booking that the hotel is part of a Catholic Diocese, and having not been prepared for this, some of the features of the hotel made my partner uncomfortable.

Okay 4.0
Pros: Bed was comfy
Cons: Wasn't a 4* star rating, sofa was broken, bed sheets were stained so had to fold them over. Minimum shower gel came out when the tub was pressed. Curtain was half hanging off and therefore wouldn't shut properly. The majority of the property was clean but overall a very disappointing stay to say it cost £85 for one night
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Clean and great location
Cons: The apartment smelt of stale cigarette smoke which wasn’t very nice
Okay 5.0

Pros: Welcoming and cosy hotel. Very clean and comfy. Breakfast and dinner excellent. Plenty of parking.
Cons: Nothing to not like.
Excellent 8.0
Pros: Easy to find, plenty of parking and not far to the city centre. Good value for money. Rooms were spacious and clean. Beds were quite soft. Breakfast was good although the restaurant could do with a makeover. Overall it was good value for money.
Cons: We enjoyed our stay but if anything needed improving it would be the restaurant as it was a bit tired looking and there could have been a better choice of cooked breakfast. They don't serve fried eggs at the weekend for some reason. The staff were nice though and there were plenty of other items for breakfast.

Excellent 9.2
Pros: Clean and well presented
Cons: Location
Excellent 9.0
Pros: Within reasonable distance from the city centre (15-20 min walk), friendly and helpful staff and good value for money. Nice selection of breakfast too.
Cons: Perhaps slightly more central or near the station would have been ideal but the location was good enough.
Excellent 9.0
Pros: My expectations from a chain hotel were small but this hotel definitely pleased. The atmosphere was warm and friendly, the room was very comfortable and included breakfast ample and tasty
Cons: This does not just apply to Holiday Inn Express, Leeds but as a smoker I am always so disappointed that the hotel has so little regard to the comfort of its smoking clients. A bench on a cold windy corner outside is not a 'facility'. It is not your job to discourage smokers. Surely it is not beyond a hotel designers imagination to provide a simple but more dignified and comfortable space for those of us who smoke, We are a dying breed and need some protection
Good 7.0
Pros: Plenty of choice at breakfast
Cons: The shower was so slow I couldn’t wash my hair, which was really annoying as we were there fo 3 nights and like to wash my hair daily. Could do with more wardrobe space
Excellent 8.8
Pros: Great location Clean & tidy Pleasant & helpful staff
Cons: A little noisy at night with the main road but this was not a big deal & did not prevent me from sleeping well.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Always stay here when visiting Leeds University. Convenient and staff are always great. Super new Indian Restaurant worth a try, I was most impressed
Cons: All was good once again
Good 6.7
Cons: Food is terrible, sofa bed extremely uncomfortable

Mediocre 2.9
Pros: Free on site parking.
Cons: Although the reception staff were friendly when checking us in they were also extremely inappropriate by complaining about a guest in one of the rooms to each other in front of us. This made us feel very uncomfortable. We were due to stay for 2 nights but checked out after 1. We were put in room 262. The room was very small, cold and felt damp. The light switches and sockets were worn and the main room light buzzed when it was on. The room felt very worn and was in need of a refurbishment. There was mould up the side of the wall and the window latch was broken. The bed was not a normal double sized bed. The hairdryer was a small old travel sized one. The bathroom looked quite new and modern and was warmer than the main room. The shower wasn't very good, with a very weak flow when turned on full. The hotel was quite noisy - we could hear the people across the hall whistling and talking. There were 2 different places to eat. One inside the hotel which seemed quite expensive with a limited menu. So we opted to visit the pub, which only served the chefs curry (no option of what you could order) on the night we were there and not their normal menu this was slightly disappointing as we didn't know the area and didn't feel we were able to approach the reception team to ask for recommendations.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Unexpected room upgrade was
Cons: Everything was excellent
Excellent 9.2
Pros: The situation and the facilities in the room
Cons: Our room was snug to say the least, glad we didn’t take the cat, there was no room to swing him.
Excellent 9.2
Pros: Staff are friendly, the rooms are spacious and comfortable and generally quite clean, always room for improvement with cleanliness in hotels
Cons: We wanted to stay for Saturday and Sunday nights but Saturday was charged out at £168 when Sunday was only £95 including breakfast. I appreciate Saturday may be a little more but nearly twice the price is unacceptable.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: The staff are always pleasant and friendly, rooms are always warm and welcoming ,plus got a free upgrade to luxury from superior wouldn't stay anywhere else whilst visiting leeds amazing place and staff highly recommended x
Excellent 8.0
Pros: I enjoyed the comfort
Cons: The cleanliness of the shower & Bathroom was not the best

Excellent 9.0
Pros: Other than difficulty finding the property, as it's hidden behind a very large wall, everything was great, very comfortable, clean and close to the airport.
Cons: Property was difficult to find, an explanation within the booking with directions would have been an advantage.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Great location, close to Leeds airport, 10 Sterling pounds for taxi, 15 mil to Leeds City centre taxi cost 15. Clean and cosy rooms, very friendly and helpful staff! 10/10
Good 7.0
Pros: Breakfast was excellent and made to order. Location was very convenient for Leeds Trinity University and parking was easy. The owners were very friendly and as a woman travelling alone, I would definitely stay there again.
Cons: The shower took a long time to get hot, but when it finally did, it was very good.
Good 6.0
Pros: The location was good although it was on quite a busy road. There was ample parking. The room was well designed and had a sofa so we didn't always have to sit on the bed next to each other.
Cons: There was a party on in one of the function rooms which went on till around 11.45. We could hear the music through the floor and then lots of cars and chat in the car park when people were leaving. The breakfast was fine, nothing special.
Good 6.3
Pros: Quiet and clean rooms
Cons: Rooms are small. No desk space and bed size is small.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Perfect location for access to Leeds Bradford airport. Beds very comfortable. Full english breakfast freshly cooked, delicious thank you.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Very helpful and hospitable. Cosy, warm and comfy room. Helpful staff.

Good 6.7
Pros: The room was quite spacious, clean & comfortable, the furniture was a bit outdated but I think they were in the process of updating some of the rooms. The breakfast was good & plenty of it, the parking was also good.
Cons: We had driven from Norwich which was about a 3 & a half hour drive, we asked the receptionist if we could get a drink at the bar & was told it didn’t open until 6.0pm, so it was either a coffee in the room or find the nearest pub, we choose the pub, which was only about 100 metres away & was a good choice. The staff were ok but not overly helpful.
Excellent 8.0
Pros: The breakfast was very good. Great cooked meal and lots of variety. The location was great for us as we were visiting family. The bed was comfy.
Cons: The shower was very temperamental as kept running hot then cold. So gave up on it. Also there was a bath towel that was not clean. Looked like blood on it so didn't us it.
Excellent 8.0
Pros: Warm and friendly
Cons: No real problems
Excellent 10.0
Pros: In quiet lane. Excellent Wifi. Exquisite country house style hotel in excellent condition. Nicely decorated. Homely.
Cons: I didn’t see a lift ? Stairs to reach room but I didn’t carry heavy luggage so I didn’t mind... Check for this when you book.
Good 7.0
Pros: The hotel was well located for our needs. The place was clean and the staff helpful and friendly. I would specially mention the kind lad on reception who fixed the WiFi. Good sized towels in the bathroom is always welcome. And poached egg for breakfast was perfect
Cons: The room was very hot and it meant a troubled night for us.We couldn’t adjust the radiator. The bedside light needed it’s fitting made more secure but I fixed it. The tv aerial needed adjusting and the tv kept going in and out of tune which was mildly irritating. But it represents decent value even if it could do with some additional TLC in the small things
Good 7.0
Pros: comfort, good bar meal one night.
Cons: Rooms need an update. Furniture all a bit old & tired looking

Pros: Staff so friendly and helpful
Cons: The noise late at night
Okay 5.8
Pros: Not a lot - only the location in Headingley, which suited me.

Pros: Everything just just right hotel our room even went into the restaurant just for a drink and the staff was absolutely how staff should be helpful chatty having a laugh . I would definitely recommend anyone to stay here spot on
Cons: There was nothing not to like was great
Good 7.9
Pros: For us the location was perfect and the hotel excellent value for money. Only spoilt by the drunk who thought it a good idea to have a cigarette at 03.30, though not the fault of the hotel. Can confirm the fire alarm works!! Attached Indian restaurant gave us what was possibly the best Indian meal we had ever eaten - simply fantastic, especially the naan.
Cons: Towels were a bit small(?)
Good 6.3
Pros: Located on outskirts. Good restaurant in hotel.
Cons: A lot of maintenance issues in room, probably due to lack of attention to detail. Needs a bit of modernisation. Quite expensive for what was fairly basic. Not a bad stay but have had better
Excellent 8.0
Pros: Good room, good price, friendly staff, and a really clean bathroom!
Excellent 10.0

Okay 5.0
Pros: Friendly member of staff who brought me a heater when I was freezing.
Cons: Cold and tiny room with paper thin walls. Broken clothes rail, non working radiator on cold night, leaky windows. Dirty shower and broken loo roll holder. An unloved place
Okay 5.4
Pros: Bedding was clean
Cons: Seriously in need of decorating, very very tired and dated. Bathroom at least 30 years old, carpets in communal areas filthy, paint work filthy
Okay 4.6
Pros: Location
Cons: No bathroom or toilet in the room. Separate shower room with toilet but no sink to wash your hands after
Okay 5.0
Pros: The breakfast was very good , the staff were really polite and friendly
Cons: I had the people who stayed in the room next door banging on the wall 3 times and were very loud for over an hour after midnight . The building does need some repairs doing and the room was drafty and not particularly warm . I slept in my clothes rather than night to keep warm .
Okay 4.6
Pros: Comfortable bed
Cons: Radiator not working in room. Given an electric heater to carry up 2 flights of stairs!
Good 7.0
Pros: Very friendly staff and nice breakfast. Room was very clean and the stay was worth the price I paid.
Cons: Rooms are quite old. My room was underground so therefore the window for the view outside was very small.

Excellent 9.0
Pros: Value for money
Cons: Nothing
Okay 5.8
Pros: Very nice cooked breakfast. The young man in charge was very pleasant and helpful.
Cons: Very tatty, it needed a complete overhaul as it was stuck in the seventies. The room was clean but the dining room needed a good vacuum.
Excellent 8.3
Pros: The breakfast, the welcome, the location
Cons: Mattress was too soft for me. I appreciate its a very personal thing though and may be perfect for others.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Was on a working trip and needed to stay for a night and turned our to be a pleasant one. The hotel Reminds me of the days before electronics entered our homes. Super clean and well organised all necessities within the small room. Even the tap handles were from industrial times. One needs to stay to know the old world charm
Okay 5.0
Pros: Great location. Very good breakfast.
Cons: Notices all over the place apologigizing for the renovation work (of which I saw none).
Good 7.1
Pros: Free hot choclate, comfortable bed, plenty of towels, free shampoo and body wash, nice portable heater, plenty of storage space, close to headingley centre, polite staff. Every utility you will need for your trip.
Cons: Small bath, no hot water, just warm. Smelt like wet dog outside 226. Noisey aswell at times; boilers, tvs', extractor fan, cars outside room window, stairs coming down to 226.
Excellent 8.0
Pros: Cheap and straight forward hotel in a nice suburb. Comfy bed and good value for money!

Excellent 8.3
Pros: Very good staff and relaxing we
Cons: Whould have prefered walk in shower as i have difficulty getting in and out of the bath
Mediocre 3.0
Pros: Staff were very friendly in general. Facilities could have been good but in need of renewing asap.
Cons: The room was of a very tired condition, furniture Formica missing, tap in bath broken, very smelly throughout room hallways and hotel, hotel in need of renovation and deep clean, beds old and uncomfortable, pillows useless. Walls thin, toilet kept running all night.
Excellent 8.0
Pros: Location (close to airport) was important
Cons: Uncomfortable bed, lack of pillows
Good 7.1
Pros: Location ,spacious room, comfy bed
Cons: Staff were’nt very attentive this time, 3 staff behind reception whilst l was checking in , talking amongst themselves about the previous days empty rooms, completely ignoring there paying quest......... me. At supper had ordered my meal at the bar, waited about 15mins, had to remind the barmaid for my drink, she had forgotten. Finally at breakfast......... l was greeted with, “ are you here for breakfast” it was 0815hrs, no “good morning”, no conversation at all, and l was the only person having breakfast at that time........... All very different to my lovely first visit a few weeks ago.
Mediocre 3.0
Cons: The hotel is outdated and there is a weird chlorine smell throughout the corridors. WiFi is free is a lot of hotels, but at Britannia you have to pay which I found frustrating. I know some hotel have a policy to pay for early Check in- but I was 1 hour early, i think some flexibility should be granted, instead I had to pay £10 extra.

Excellent 9.6
Pros: good size room with basic facilities, lovely hot shower with excellent water pressure. Good TV. Suitable for my needs - Would stay there again.
Cons: Bit of road noise and bed a bit hard.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: It was a lovely room, lovely building, nice and clean and warm
Cons: Liked it all
Excellent 8.0
Pros: No breakfast provided. Kettle, coffee, tea and biscuits provided. Very adequate if breakfast not needed. 4 or 5 cafés close by if breakfast needed. Location very convenient for Univ of Leeds where we were going for a graduation event. We would stay here again.
Cons: On a cold night the room soon warmed us but then became a little too warm with no way of cooling the room other than opening window. Bed mattress fine but pillow not very comfortable. Entrance road very muddy and pot-holed. It would enhance visit to hotel if road was repaired.
Mediocre 3.7
Pros: The radiators didn't work in 2 of the 3 rooms we were moved to. We had to go to the staff multiple times about this before anything was done. We're not usually the complaining type but what kind of hotel doesn't have working radiators in the middle of winter?
Excellent 8.8
Pros: Near to university when attending show
Cons: No lift but not a problem
Excellent 9.6
Pros: Clean
Cons: Couldnt park in car park was full x still got free parking with a permit though
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Staff very helpful, definitely stay again if in Leeds.
Okay 5.8
Pros: Room was good size and close to centre. There was car parking
Cons: Decoration was poor, needs refreshing. Staff not welcoming. Laundry and vacuum left on stairs in the way.
Okay 5.0
Pros: Cheap and good location, bed sheets clean.
Cons: Someone else's used sanitary product in the bathroom. Outdated, damaged furniture and decor. Reception staff on their phone.
Good 6.0
Pros: Very close to university. Very comfortable double bed. Quiet. Had good nights sleep. Warm room. Openable window.
Cons: Seriously unimpressive approach to the building. Somewhat perfunctory service at reception, though perfectly friendly. Probably night staff as we arrived after 10 pm. No breakfast available. Checkout just a key drop, no staff apparent. Pretty impersonal/functional. View out of window in room at rear less than glamorous... defunct appliances...and a huge rubble heap in the ‘garden’ next door. Numerous detail lapses.... notices cello taped to walls, tv remote irritatingly unresponsive, no warning about very hot water, minor damage not attended to....cracked sink, bent wall light, odd MDF strip exposed on headboard....all small stuff that ideally someone should care about. This is was comfortable no frills accommodation very convenient for the university, perfectly adequate for one night and not the cost of a modern chain...decent value...but I wouldn’t choose it for a romantic weekend.
