Oman entry details and exceptions

Travelers with a travel history in in the past 14 days before travel are not allowed to enter Oman.

Omani citizens, diplomats, health staff, and their families are exempt from the ban and will be subject to entry procedures adopted by the Sultanate. Restricted entry into the Sultanate to only Omanis and residents, who have visas issued on or before 5th April 2021, and they must comply with the requirements imposed by the relevant authorities.

All foreign nationals must have valid health insurance.

COVID-19 testing requirements
Test type

Visitors from New Zealand must present a negative RT-PCR (NAAT) test taken 72 hours before departing to Oman.

Details and exceptions

All arriving travelers over the age of 15 from any country will be required to undergo another COVID-19 PCR test on arrival, must pre-book the PCR test through and pay OMR 25 for the test fee.

Quarantine requirements

Visitors from New Zealand are not required to quarantine after entering Oman.

Travelers without a pre-departure COVID-19 test will be required to take a COVID-19 PCR test on arrival in Oman and quarantine until they have a negative COVID-19 PCR test result.If the result is positive they must quarantine for 10 days.

COVID-19 testing requirements
Test type

Travellers returning from Oman must present a negative RT-PCR (NAAT) or Antigen (quick-test) test taken 72 hours before departure to New Zealand.

Details and exceptions

Exemptions apply to the following:

1. Children who are under two years of age.

2. Individuals who can present a medical certificate verifying they have been examined no earlier than 72 hours prior to departure and have been determined to be unable to undertake a test for medical reasons but do not exhibit symptoms of COVID-19

3. Individuals with past (recovered) cases of COVID-19 who have a positive 72 hour or less test result, but have a medical certificate for showing that the individual is no longer considered by a medical practitioner to be infectious with COVID-19

Quarantine requirements

Visitors returning from Oman will need to quarantine for 14 days upon entering New Zealand.

Details and exceptions

Travelers to New Zealand from all countries, except eligible passengers from a quarantine-free travel zone (Niue and Cook Islands), must complete a 14-day stay in a managed isolation or quarantine facility.

Quarantine-free travel for Australian passengers are temporary suspended until further notice.
