Pros: the staff at the Luton Airport office were friendly and helpful.Cons: The car which I was supposed to rent was not available and I was provided with options which I was told were upgrades. However, the car that was provided me was definitely a downgrade from the car I was supposed to rent. It was the cheapest, most underpowered Skoda I have ever had the displeasure of driving, compared to the Peugeot 308 I was supposed to rent. It was fine for a day, but will not be renting from SixT again this bait and switch.

they were closed at my pick up time!Pros: They offered a great dealCons: They failed to deliver the deal - closed at my scheduled pick up time - no apology - and now they dispute my claim for a refund as they say they cannot refund after the scheduled pick up time - probably the worst ever rental car experience you can ever have

Overcharged for small scratch.Cons: Small scratch on the fender, no longer than an inch, Hertz charged us $150. Shameful for something that would come out with a bit of wax.

Pros: No helpfulness at all. Didn’t take American Express which was the only credit card I had. Staff could care less and I did not know when I rented it. Couldn’t even rent the car and still paid for the rental.Cons: Staff could have at least worked with me and acted like they cared. Staff couldn’t have cared less as it was “my problem” to figure out how to put a deposit on a rental like that.

Be prepared for a bumpy ride to save moneyPros: The car was new and the original cost was low.Cons: While the heathrow branch is a different experience, renting in Luton is quite a headache, to say the least. For first time visitors, it is extremely difficult to find. Then, there are far too few people working, doing b oth the rental agreements and payment, and giving out/recieving cars. The worst though is the apparent directive they have been told to create extra income almost by any means necessary. This means they overcharge for everything they can (my plane was delayed, had to pay extra for arriving late. Others couldnt find the place, also had a late fee. Charged more for taking a debit card, etc.). Possibly the worst is the "damage" control on the car, where they quickly lead first time renters to look past small scratches in the car when taking them out and then amazingly find them upon return and demand exorbitant fees (150 GBP for scratches on a hubcap?). You can prepare yourself and take pictures of the car while still in the lot before you take it, but be prepared to joust with the fees they try to tack on both at the beginning and upon return.

Pros: Nothing. Even though staff were reasonably polite. I was charged an additional 98 pounds because I rented through a US website. In addition, they did not accept the third party insurance I had bought so I had to "block" 1,500 pounds on my credit card - which will take up to 28 days to releaseCons: Upfront information that I would have these additional expenses. Car was not ready on time and it was not clean (smelt of cigarettes)
