Foreign nationals who wish to travel to Myanmar by relief or special flights due to urgent official missions or compelling reasons, are asked to contact Myanmar mission for possible exception to certain visa restrictions.
Visitors from New Zealand must present a negative RT-PCR (NAAT) test taken 72 hours before departing to Myanmar.
Aside from presenting a negative PCR Test, all travelers who are granted permission to enter Myanmar will undergo a temperature check upon arrival.
Visitors from New Zealand will need to quarantine for 7 days upon entering Myanmar.
Complete 7 days home quarantine prior to the date of travel. Complete 7 days quarantine in a government facility or government approved hotel on arrival in Myanmar (allocated on arrival). Undertake a COVID-19 test after 7 days (at own expense). If the test is negative, complete another 7 days of home quarantine.
Travelers are tested for COVID-19 on days 3 and 7 of the quarantine period. They must cover the costs of the PCR tests themselves. Anyone with a positive result will be isolated and taken to a health facility.
Travellers returning from Myanmar must present a negative RT-PCR (NAAT) or Antigen (quick-test) test taken 72 hours before departure to New Zealand.
Exemptions apply to the following:
1. Children who are under two years of age.
2. Individuals who can present a medical certificate verifying they have been examined no earlier than 72 hours prior to departure and have been determined to be unable to undertake a test for medical reasons but do not exhibit symptoms of COVID-19
3. Individuals with past (recovered) cases of COVID-19 who have a positive 72 hour or less test result, but have a medical certificate for showing that the individual is no longer considered by a medical practitioner to be infectious with COVID-19
Visitors returning from Myanmar will need to quarantine for 14 days upon entering New Zealand.
Travelers to New Zealand from all countries, except eligible passengers from a quarantine-free travel zone (Niue and Cook Islands), must complete a 14-day stay in a managed isolation or quarantine facility.
Quarantine-free travel for Australian passengers are temporary suspended until further notice.
Most foreign visitors from New Zealand will not be allowed to enter Myanmar. Please check the official guidelines from Myanmar for permitted groups and exceptions to the entry restrictions.

Unvaccinated visitors from New Zealand will not be allowed to enter Myanmar.
