Kuwait has restricted the entry of all travelers except Kuwaiti nationals, their immediate families, and domestic workers who are accompanied by a Kuwaiti national. All of the above must have OK TO TRAVEL authorization obtained from the state of Kuwait embassy.
All travelers must install the "Shlonik" and "Kuwait-Mosafer" app on their personal device before departure. Kuwait DGCA will be informed of any traveler who cannot install the app, and they will have to present their boarding pass upon arrival.
Travelers must register online prior to departure.
Visitors from New Zealand must present a negative RT-PCR (NAAT) test taken 72 hours before departing to Kuwait.
Visitors from New Zealand will need to quarantine for 14 days upon entering Kuwait.
On arrival in Kuwait, travelers will need to undergo a further PCR test at the airport. All travelers will subsequently be subject to 14-day home quarantine.
Travellers returning from Kuwait must present a negative RT-PCR (NAAT) or Antigen (quick-test) test taken 72 hours before departure to New Zealand.
Exemptions apply to the following:
1. Children who are under two years of age.
2. Individuals who can present a medical certificate verifying they have been examined no earlier than 72 hours prior to departure and have been determined to be unable to undertake a test for medical reasons but do not exhibit symptoms of COVID-19
3. Individuals with past (recovered) cases of COVID-19 who have a positive 72 hour or less test result, but have a medical certificate for showing that the individual is no longer considered by a medical practitioner to be infectious with COVID-19
Visitors returning from Kuwait will need to quarantine for 14 days upon entering New Zealand.
Travelers to New Zealand from all countries, except eligible passengers from a quarantine-free travel zone (Niue and Cook Islands), must complete a 14-day stay in a managed isolation or quarantine facility.
Quarantine-free travel for Australian passengers are temporary suspended until further notice.
Most foreign visitors from New Zealand will not be allowed to enter Kuwait. Please check the official guidelines from Kuwait for permitted groups and exceptions to the entry restrictions.
Fully vaccinated visitors from New Zealand can enter Kuwait without restrictions.
Unvaccinated visitors from New Zealand will not be allowed to enter Kuwait.
Mask usage in Kuwait is required in public spaces.
Restaurants in Kuwait are open with restrictions. Bars in Kuwait are closed.
