Boarding instructions on one leg of my journey were not well communicated at the gate (Melbourne to Auckland)

Pros: "The crew was excellent and we appreciated the ability to change seats after takeoff."
Cons: "It was great. . .We thought a 16 hr flight would be gruling, but it was not at all!! Comfortable seats with plenty of room and lots of bathrooms. The flight attendants were awesome"
Cons: "It was the shortest flight of my itinerary. My last flight home. We sat on the plane for nearly 45 minutes before take off and it was late getting home. Totally ridiculous. Every flight in and out of Eugene is ridiculous like that"

Cons: "Due to limited internet in Rarotonga, we weren’t able to fully check in until we got to the counter. The flight in came with two checked bags and not our flight to Auckland. We were expected to pay a fee at the counter but was charged $170 for the counter checkin of one bag. This price was not listed or posted anywhere during the booking or via email for mobile check-in."

Cons: "Seats are not as well padded as some carriers which becomes important on long flights. Heathrow gates are very long distances for anyone with mobility issues and switching terminals is confusing if not done regularly. Onboard staff was helpful. On board entertainment was free and varied. No WiFi?"
Pros: "The sleepers in business were perfectly flat. It's the best sleep I've had on a flight."

Cons: "One of my pet dislikes would be when some passengers have oversized carryon luggage that take up all the room in the overhead compartment of their own and the next one! My bag was about 3 compartments in front of me, which I didn’t mind, until someone tried to claim my bag as theirs..."

Pros: "Booked these flights though Kayak. Landing from LAX at 0730 at Auckland international terminal and then departing at 0900 from the domestic terminal. This is not enough time, doesn’t allow for customs and immigration. It was a really stressful experience running between terminals with my luggage, as there was less than a 1 hour window after getting through customs and immigration, so the bag drop at international wouldn’t accept them. Got to departure gate 12 minutes before plane departure. You need more time to have a good experience !"

Pros: "Purchased an exit row aisle seat - all the leg room I could ask for. Close to toilets - no odor issues. Good meals. Staff basically courteous (though not unfailingly - occasionally a tad blunt and titchy - a common experience for me on Air NZ)."
Cons: "Air NZ website states exit row seating purchase comes with priority boarding. When I asked about this at the gate counter I was told I would be seated by row number. Seems like this is a common issue with Air NZ - see e.g., skytrax website reviews. The website advertising is inaccurate if not false."
Pros: "Crew, ground and flight crew, were all so friendly and accommodating. Great access to free snacks/drinks, but the best was the seats with the footrests that lift all the way up to form a couch, even for those of us who aren't able to fly business class, but are frequent flyers."
Cons: "The video system wasn't as good as say, Virgin or B.A., but it's such a small issue, compared to the superior comfort of coach in Air New Zealand to the other steerage-like coach classes."

There wasn't, so it was a waste of $100 each way for the two of us. We had much more leg room on our US domestic flight. Flight attendants don't appear to like their jobs very much. They were overly stern and impatient with passengers. Reminded me of the nuns in Catholic school growing up. Do they have any idea how uncomfortable the passengers are when we are packed in like sardines? Finally, the food isn't anything like they described and they served diet portions it seemed. I'm at a loss for why this airline was rated so highly"
