Pros: "Everything was great! This was my first time flying Alaska Air and I could not have had a better trip! Everything ran according to schedule, I was comfortable during the flight, slept the entire time, staff was great!"
Cons: "The woman making announcements did not specifically announce the duration of the flight as we were departing. I was able to figure it out on the map option on the screen, but I would've liked to hear it verbally. Only suggestion I would have is an announcement on the plane for which baggage claim belt our luggage would come out of. I may not have heard it though, if there was an announcement. It was not difficult at all to figure out once I was in the baggage claim area, however if this was known while we were still on the flight, I prefer to know this info!"
Pros: "Highly recommend premium seating on this flight, 4 extra inches of leg room make a big difference. Delicious food that was decently priced and a large assortment of beverages. Left early and landed early, which was helpful because I had a 44 minute layover between 2 flights."
Pros: "Lots of room for bags and legs. The outlet is easy to reach. And there are 3 bathrooms."
Pros: "Cabin crew was very efficient and helpful. One attendant was able to help me get entertainment app to work by advising me to turn off privacy settings on my phone. Good flight. They had a wheelchair ready for me on landing, not because I requested one but because they noted I had used one to change planes. Really nice"
Cons: "Couldnt get seat to recline."
Cons: "2+h delay"
Cons: "Boston landed at Gates C Run to catch flight at Gate 'N" Stupid....but who gives a shi***** right?"
Pros: "On time--early even. Planes seemed newer and cleaner than other airlines we usually fly. Friendly attendants. Very fast baggage claim. Despite it being more of a pain to get in and out ofBoston (vs. Manchester), we would fly them again."
Cons: "Boarding seems to take longer than other airlines."
Pros: "Short time to wait for my flight to Panama"
Cons: "To small, person seat next to me was to tall can't very fits"

Pros: "ALWAYS ON TIME"
Cons: "I couldn't sleep ... too cramped."

Pros: "I missed my flight, but staff in Seattle helped me get on the next one with minimal fuss. Not sure if this is always the case, but very pleased with a situation that could have been very stressful."
Pros: "Nice and easy"
Pros: "From booking to the actual flight everyone made the process easy."
Pros: "Flight attendants were excellent! Friendly!"
Pros: "Fairly pleasant other than things listed below."
Cons: "Seats couldn't recline and had little leg room, no complimentary entertainment, no complimentary food."
Pros: "smooth, quiet flight, as comfortable as a red eye can be in economy. i like that they bring you water and are accessible to give you more whenever you need it."
Cons: "The new seat backs are very uncomfortable to put your head against"
Pros: "Crew was nice, checkin was fine, flight was good, food was reasonably priced for Economy, tablets given out to passengers with movies, etc"
Cons: "2 hour delay leaving Boston and 2 hour delay leaving Seattle"
Pros: "Good leg room"
Cons: "No blanket, pillow, entertainment, or real food for a cross-country red eye. was my first time flying and was disappointed."
Pros: "The crew were friendly and seemed happy."
Cons: "The seats didn't recline. We were moved to an over-wing exit, and the seats don't lay back there. In fact, it looked as though none of the seats in Economy could be reclined. This was an awful discovery on an over-night flight. The plane was a Boeing 737-900, which seemed like a new, clean and quiet piece of equipment, but Economy had Recaro seats that were fixed in the upright position. I'll try to avoid this in the future."
Pros: "The crew was great. They were pleasant and helpful."
Cons: "We were on row 33 d,e, & f. Seats d & e would not recline. The button on seat d was broken. As annoying as that was, there were 3 unaccompanied minors sitting in front of us. Two of them were fine. The third one on the isle seat was up and down, in and out of his seat the majority of the flight. I couldn't sleep. This was my second flight of the day after staying in Seattle for 7 hours waiting between my flights. The kid was loud and it seemed like the crew couldn't correct him. He just did as he pleased. I wasn't the only passenger who had a problem with him. And apparently the crew did as well. I paid a lot of money for that flight and he ruined it for me. If they are going to fly children like that, the crew should be able to correct them so the other passengers can have a pleasant flight."
Pros: "The staff was nice."
Cons: "Cramped seats, chicken sandwich was mediocre, and I would have appreciated a free movie player for the 2 hours delay, but the 75$ will make up for that."
Cons: "Would like to have a meal and not have to pay for it on a 6 hour flight"
Pros: "Crew only good part! Really amazing crew!!!! Entertainment wasn't horrible"
Cons: "Worst airplane! No room at all!!! Flying year round and to date one of the most uncomfortable flights"
Cons: "No leg room"
Pros: "All flights were on time"
Cons: "Seat assignments differed from what i had requested. Boarding process was very slow. Seats in planes were very cramped. No entertainment. No snacks other than basic beverage offering. Felt like a cattle car."
Pros: "Nice ppl and comfortable plane, great service all around"
Cons: "Delay on the front in. When we finally arrived in Seattle, they didn't even have the jetway pulled up due to a miscommunication. This required many more minutes of waiting."
Pros: "The customer service got us on the next available flight. Didn't charge us for our baggage (which they could have). Staff were helpful and realized that we were bone tired (after being awake for over 30 hours). Flight was easy. Crew was nice. Easy access to baggage when we got to PDX. I love Alaska Airlines!"
Cons: "Nothing. They got it all right."
Pros: "Alaskas great cheese plate"
Cons: "The heat was high, we asked the male steward many times to request the heat turned down, people were removing as much clothing as possible. It was very hot and sticky and smelly. The descent to landing was to fast when near the runway, and we crashed hard like a carrier landing. I would inspect the gear and wing spats for cracks. The fuselage bowed like a banana, it was evident looking down the tube sitting the back. How about a breathalyzer or something, everybody knows the drunken pilots, the can't be fired and they know it, so it takes years to sober them up at our expense. The pilots who've been caught drinking are not trying to get better, they just whine that the others who haven't been caught yet are even worse drunks. Everybody who flys on Alaska has heard it from the same old Alaska born drunken pilots. How about less drunken bush piloting and get your drunken pilots who've been busted in the last few years to shut up and stop telling everyone that all Alaska pilots are drunks as defense of there drunkeness."
Pros: "Delayed an hour and half due to maintenance issues. Changed gates twice!"
Cons: "Passenger in window seat took 11/2 seats. Flight was full so there was no sense complaining Very uncomfortable on a 5 hour flight."
Pros: "I picked that flight because it was the only direct flight that fit my schedule. Wish I could take JetBlue."
Cons: "Seat is so small and uncomfortable. Flight attendant somehow only offered the two guys next to me the whole can of soda but just ignored me. I found it very odd. She had many cans of coke...It's not that I care about a 50 cents of a soda but I felt totally discriminated. I don't want to pull the minority card, but just didn't make sense to me when she did that. I know it's tedious but it really hurt my first experience with this airline. I will avoid flying with them in the future."
Pros: "Got home"
Cons: "Turned around 20" in flight, and board a new plane. Therefore arrived 2 and 1/2 hrs later than scheduled. As recompense they give a $100 discount on next flight, which will probably never be used as they have so few flights from Boston. Practically not a useful thing for me."
Pros: "Nothing. Our trip was changed without notice."
Cons: "We originally booked our flight back from Maui because it had a 13 hour layover And we were visiting our friends in Seattle for the day for their housewarming party. Well much to our surprise we get to the airport in Maui to leave and by sure luck because we had to get there early for our rentL car return , realized our flight was boarding in 30 minutes. It got bumped up by 4 hours with absolutely no notification. Also our nice long layover that we had purposely planned was now only 4 hours. So not only did we almost miss our first flight but we had to miss our friends party. We were never notified. I checked my spam mail, junk mail, and regular Mail. Alaska airlines did nothing for us as far as compensation for our aggravation. We usually love using kayak but if this is what will be happening from now on we will be taking our business elsewhere."
Pros: "Excellent flight crew"
"We couldn’t check-in online. Even though it was booked through American Airlines, none of my AA benefits carried over. The Wi-Fi and entertainment didn’t work the entire flight. The flight crew said something about a voucher but I didn’t hear anything else about it."
"Jetblue's $65 charge for carry on bags is robbery. There was plenty of space on the plane for carry on bags."
Pros: "I absolutely love JetBlue! It’s spacious, reliable, and best of all the new carbon neutral planes in the US are wonderful!"
Pros: "Amazing the Mint class"
Pros: "Brand new plane, no crowds, fast trip. Excellent overall"
Cons: "Snack. Drinks were better before Covid nonsense"
Cons: "WiFi to work on the plane"
Pros: "Jet blue was amazing. They bit only upgraded my seats but they took care of what Hawaiian airlines refused to do due to the virus. Hawaiian cancled my flight home with no notification or warning. Jet blue picked up where they failed and not only rebooked my flight home for me, but contacted Hawaiian on my behalf so it would not cost me any more money. Jet blue was amazing"
Pros: "All of it. I really like the eye masks for the red eye flight and the snacks are bomb!!!!!!!!"
Pros: "Arrived early! Smooth takeoff and landing no unnecessary cabin announcements (it was a red eye)"
Cons: "Free food beyond chips"
Cons: "The flight was SIX hours late, yet passengers were told to check in at the original time. Why? Just to spend the whole freaking night at the airport? The reason for the delay was supposedly weather, yet flights from SEA to BOS on other airlines were on time. Staff were not helpful or empathetic."
Pros: "I slept reasonably well."
Cons: "More comfortable seats/more leg room."
Pros: "Lots of leg room, love the personal entertainment system. I’ve never been in first class but that looked better than the other planes I’ve been on too!! Meditations for anxious flyers?? Wonderful!"
Cons: "Only thing that could’ve been better was getting my booze for free. Otherwise, I was legitimately surprised at how great the accomodations were!"
Pros: "Crew was nice, comfortable leg space."
Cons: "Bought one of the Mediterranean snack boxes. The bean dip as well as the hummus tasted terrible. Couldn't eat it."
Cons: "Too hot. They need to turn off the blue light for a red eye..."
Pros: "Pleasant crew - loved (and used) complimentary sleeping eye mask"
Pros: "Quick boarding left on time comfortable seats overall best flying experience I have had"
Cons: "The crew let a lady with severe dementia on board who was alone and very confused. She preceded to try to exit the plane while in flight numerious times. She spent two hours pushing my seat forward trying to operate the entertainment and constantly pushing the call button for help with it. This women should never have been aloud to board alone. Her problem were obvious to the crew from the minute they sat her."
Pros: "It was great and easy."
Pros: "Flight attendant at the front with the glasses was excellent"
Cons: "The flight attendant at the front- I don’t know her name but she was wonderful, friendly and smiling and seemed genuinely pleased at her job. The flight attendant in the back I don’t believe smiled once the whole flight. It was a relatively short flight but still not one smile on boarding, in flight or once we landed. Probably gave the most morose safety demonstration in aviation history. I know most people don’t like their jobs but a smile does go a long way and for me personally it helps s great deal when you have an irrational fear of flying. She did nothing wrong but she could have at least looked like she wanted to be there."
Cons: "Pets were allowed on the flight, and we had no prior knowledge of this. I happened to be allergic to furry animals, especially cats and dogs. There were two dogs on board, one in a row toward the front and one in the back. There was nowhere that I could go and allergens were probably circulated in the system. There was also a terrible odor that several others said they could also smell. The attendant said that there was nothing that could be done, and we suffered through the entire flight. Also, the TV control was broken and there was no option to turn off the TV. The attendant said that there would be a $25 voucher issued for compensation. We have not heard a peep from anyone!"
Pros: "Seating is comfortable!staff,helpful"
Cons: "Delay...was not made up in flight..."
Pros: "The inflight crew was amazing. Natalie was a sweetheart and super helpful. She even gave some of us a tour of the galleys and taught us a few things about Mosaic customers as well as a few other operational things. I didn’t catch the other flights attendants names as they covered more of the back of the plane but they were both insanely hospitable and it was very clear that they loved their jobs as they were having fun. The women who checked us in also accommodated is with Even More Space seats after knowing we were crew members!"
Cons: "As a non-rev I have no room to criticize. Only thing would be that the A/C model was an older version of the A320 (and I know that it will be updated eventually)"
Pros: "Cabin crew were polite and cheerful"
Cons: "Long delay"
Pros: "The flight was delayed due to fog - not much they could control about that. Since passengers were waiting so long, they put out trays of snacks for us to help ourselves to. They were also very prompt with the announcements and updates, and the captain even made a personal estimate based on his experience. Crew was wonderful."
Cons: "The entertainment systems had consistent glitches. Some were stuck with only kids programming, others were frozen at times. They rebooted the system at least once and some passengers continued to experience problems. We have been on other JetBlue flights without entertainment issues."
Pros: "We got in ahead of schedule."
Cons: "The staff seemed tired and overworked. I got hit in the head by a flight attendant with the snack tray. An accident but still. Once we landed and we’re at the gate it took almost 40 min to get off the plane. That was ridiculous. Then after the long walk to baggage, luggage was still not there. Again we waited. Too much waiting after a long flight. I fly to NYC all the time and I’m usually in the city one hour after I land and it took 2 hours 15 min to get to Queens. Usually I have great flights with JetBlue. Last night was not the case. You get a C."
Pros: "Flight attendants were great."
Cons: "Red eye flight was delayed over an hour. Caused me to miss my connection in the AM, my two new options were an out of state airport or a six hour wait at the airport. Unfortunately the girl who sat next to me had panic attacks and ‘seizures’ the whole flight long, requesting medical personnel on board and the constant attention of the attendants. No sleep to be had. By far my worst experience flying all around."
Cons: "Seat was not comfortable. Something was wrong with the cushion."
Pros: "I loved how new the plane was. It felt modern unlike nearly every other plane I’ve been on. Complimentary eye mask and ear plugs are a fantastic touch. Great crew. Kyayak app made it very easy"
Cons: "Paid $80 for preferred seating. Got leg room, but no tv and you can’t have any carry on bags on the floor, only in overhead."
Pros: "The eye mask really helped me sleep on the redeye. Super friendly staff. Left late but still arrived mostly on time."
Cons: "No food. Can't turn off TV when ads are playing."
Pros: "promptness, friendly service"
Cons: "Flight from Boston to salt lake City was delayed by more than an hour"
Pros: "Most everything was great."
Cons: "Ended up sitting in the very back row, so wasn't able to lean back as far. Otherwise it was fine."
Cons: "Checking in was difficult for me. My husband was able to check in through the cruise line. when we got to the airport the counter was not open. i checked in but did not get a seat assignment. When we got to the gate our flight to Boston was delayed until 3am from midnight. I tried getting a seat assignment but was told I had to wait until all the other flights were taken care of. I finally got my seat with my husband after 10p. I am a very nervous flyer so this was very nerve racking for me. But once I got my seat I calmed down. We always fly Jet Blue when we can. The flight itself was wonderful. And the counter folks were very patient with the customers dealing with delays."
Pros: "Smooth, great service and snacks, loved the gluten free healthy snack options"
Cons: "Too cold in cabin"
Pros: "Great snacks, nice plane staff."
Cons: "An electrical problem caused the plane to shut down. Rather than finding us new flights, we waited for many hours for the plane to be repaired. I was planning on making it to work by 9 this morning but the only folks who received alternate flights were the ones with connections :( in addition to this, the power shutting down on the plane was extremely unsettling. I have flown hundreds of times and have zero fear of flying. Today, I was terrified that the power would shut off mid-flight at any moment. I truly wish we'd been given another plane...i know that's tough. But something along those lines would have been better than stepping back on the one that shut down with all of us in it...after waiting for hours for it to be repaired. I do appreciate the $150 coupon though."
Pros: "No food; so no rating.no food was fine on red eye flight, less disturbance, more quiet time"
Cons: "We were delayed for 3hours."
Pros: "Nothing particularly"
Cons: "My seat"
Pros: "Seems like slightly more leg room on this flight than some of the competitors"
Cons: "TV system was broken on our flight (which was long, SEA-BOS), and there was only one chance to have a snack (which I missed)."
Pros: "All employees were great - warm and helpful."
Cons: "We had to wait for another flight attendant to arrive, which delayed boarding on an already late red eye."
Pros: "The boarding process went so smoothly."
Cons: "One flight attendant, a tall gal with brown hair, talked so loudly to her crew mate through out the flight that we could hear her over our ear buds. She made sleep impossible until the last 45 mins of the trip."
Pros: "Good leg room; free movies were great!"
Cons: "Can’t think of anything!"
Cons: "The flight was delayed several times. The plane was hot. There was a loud crying baby behind us kicking our seats... I thought there was more than one baby and was surprised to see all that was generated by one. Our attendant was a little snarky and dismissive. One entertainment screen was on the fritz, and the sound was messed up on the other, so we hacked them together to make one functioning system for one of us. The fly-fi was out of range for all but the last 30 minutes. The seats seem to be getting narrower, and I've lost weight!"
Pros: "I did appreciate how apologetic the flight crew was and eventually we were able to board our flight. I also appreciated the credit that Jetblue gave me for the inconvienence. That showed sensitivity on their part that was refreshing. I know it is the holidays so its busy, and unexpected situations do arise during these times especially, so at least the credit provided some positive relief to the disappointment."
Cons: "I understand that maintaince is a necessary and usual part of flying planes every day, that said, I had booked the earlier flight for the purpose and intention of getting into Boston earlier to spend more time with my family but arriving 5 hours later than expected was disappointing. Needless to say, the traffic getting out of Boston at 4pm on a Tuesday only added insult to injury. This was also the second time that I had an underwhelming experience overall flying Jetblue so that added to the disappointment."
Pros: "The crew seemed capable and came around a couple times with water. We arrived safe and sound as one would hope for, if an hour or so later than scheduled. Seats seemed roomier than most standard economy/coach (probably due to it being an older model). Though I didn’t partake they seemed to offer more complimentary snack options than other airlines."
Cons: "The airplane cabin had a strong urine odor that endured throughout the red-eye flight, the air temperature had to have been at least 75 degrees, probably 80 which was a bit stifling. No usb/power at the seat which would be preferable/should be standard by now for a coast-to-coast flight. Seat didn’t recline which isn’t the end of the world but a bit of a bummer. My headphones didn’t work with the little screen at my seat but it’s ok because based on my neighbor’s screen it was just a rotating lineup of Jet Blue commercials/fake tv shows that I can easily pass on."
Pros: "the seats were more comfortable than many other airlines, the snacks were more plentiful. I only saw one flight attendant doing anything in coach, he kept very busy and was pleasant. There was a female attendant around but I did not see her doing anything - maybe she was first class."
Cons: "First, the pre-boarding announcements were very difficult to hear and understand. The attendant spoke way too fast so that combined with the lack of clarity of the speakers made it almost impossible to understand what was being said. I have a hearing impairment so I need my husband to tell me but he too had trouble understanding the announcements. This was somewhat true during the announcements on the plane also, but less of a problem there. Let's face it, the audio systems really make things sound garbled so it is very important to speak clearly and slowly enough. I don't know how I could travel alone."
Cons: "Endless delays and extremely shitty boarding staff."
Pros: "Unlimited snacks, leg room, free wifi"
Cons: "Screens are very small!"
"Great customer service. Safety and cleanliness. Fly delta."
"2hours delayed and didn't give notification right away 🤷♀️. I even lost my food to rush to go to the airport. Paid $60 for seafood plate ending just leave it almost halfway on my way to the airport find out the flight was delayed. I wish they have more accurate policy to let passengers knows for any problems about the flight as soon or as early they can"
"I like that I got to my destination safely."
"The TSA screening is absolutely unnecessary. It is dehumanizing and has been proven to be in-effective!"
"Anyone that purchased a Delta 1st Class seat should have access to the Delta Sky Club. My wife and I purchased 1st Class tickets for a Delta flight from SeaTac to Washington Dulles but were denied entrance to the SeaTac Delta Sky Club because we did have an American Express card."
"Really accommodating staff, and on flight amenities. I would fly with Delta again."
"The terminal on my ticket was different than the gate number. We went through security and had to take a 15 min shuttle to a different terminal. Why not just go through security there? There were also no attendants at the gate to discuss seat assignments. My husband and I didn’t have seats together. Try on board crew was great, but the airport experience was lacking."
Pros: "The seats were very good. The crew was helpful and friendly."
Cons: "We had a connection in Detroit. The flight from Seattle to Detroit arrived about 30 minutes late, and we barely made the connection. Apparently Delta had not told the Detroit-Boston flight to wait a few minutes for us. We did make the connection, but we arrived at the gate with no seat assignment (we had been bumped the day before from our original flight because of a mechanical problem) as the plane was loading. Had we missed the flight, we would have had to spend the night in Detroit and go to Boston the next day. Delta should have told the gate agent that we were coming."
Pros: "Crew attentive, professional, appeared to be enjoying job with full plane."
Cons: "The mew food boxes in furst class taste terrible."
Pros: "Sitting in the exit row"
Pros: "The crew was very professional and polite, my flight attended (blond lady) was very pleasant and very professional. She should be promoter to teach others how to be professional without kiss passenger's a*s."
Cons: "Could be better if the check in line employee were be able to sell one way ticket to Boston at 13:20hr , instead I had to purchased round trip just to get at my destination at planned time. Also I had to pay 30 dollars to go get the next flight at 18:59hrs , which was extremely inconvenient."
Pros: "Amazing crew!"
Pros: "Smooth flight. Crew friendly."
Cons: "More leg room"
Pros: "Great crew."
Cons: "Mask enforcement"
Pros: "Clean safe comfortable plane seats. friendly staff."
Cons: "A small credit for miles as the Wifi didn’t work."
Cons: "Having cocktails available on-board"
Cons: "The exit row that I paid up for, for leg room, didn't have extra leg room. First world problems."
Pros: "Friendly crew"
Pros: "Crew was awesome!"
Cons: "The boarding did not go on time. An announcement about why would have been nice. Still made it on the flight on time."
Pros: "Pretty straight forward. Clean. Efficient."
Pros: "Middle seat was empty"
Pros: "This was a redeye flight which are never the best. We upgraded to first class for a chance to sleep. The sanitizing of the aircraft was beyond expectations. The personal wipes were a plus so we could clean the areas around our seats to our satisfaction. The individual snack bags are a great idea to minimize handling."
Pros: "It was nice that the plane was not packed full."
Cons: "Box water instead of water bottles. The seat wasn’t very comfortable since it wouldn’t recline."
Cons: "The Seattle gate agents never said which flight they were calling and since neighboring gates were boarding at the same time it was very confusing and rather chaotic."
Pros: "Crew was very attentive. I appreciated the extra spacing between passengers."
Cons: "I would have liked to see alcohol served."
Pros: "There was an amazing variety of tv shows and movies. That is essential for long flights like ours was."
Cons: "For long haul flights, I am used to being offered a pillow/blanket, even when sitting in economy."
Cons: "There should not be a pay wall around the internet in today's day and age"
Pros: "Everything from hospitality to the ease of the flight. Captain communicated to put all at ease during this time in which this pandemic has gotten many fearful of flying. Great landing as well."
Cons: "Everything was great!"
Cons: "flight left without 1/6 of the passengers. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯"
Cons: "Significant delay of departure."
Pros: "The food and drinks were so lovely, it felt like I was in first class rather than the cheapest economy seat. Great entertainment selection and comfortable seat that let me sleep well."
Cons: "Middle seat. Big guys dont fit well there"
Cons: "Wifi didn't work"
Pros: "The plane left on time and arrived early."
Cons: "Horrible boarding experience. We were not offered a choice of seats when we checked in and had to wait at the gat"
Cons: "2 seats and neither tv/entertainment centres worked....unacceptable on a 10 hr flight!"
Cons: "Compared to Virhin Australia crew, Delta staff seem almost poorly trained in comparison. For example, Drlta crew don’t check your pass, don’t immediately move down the aisle to move along tourists busy discussing their seats and then line up for Boarding seems chaotic at best."
Cons: "Departure delayed by 1hr30"
Pros: "Flight was on time. Entertainment worked."
Cons: "One of the stewardesses was a miserable crank."
Pros: "I think they flew so fast. We could land almost on time even though we departed a hour late. Airplane was new and clean."
Cons: "Boarding was chaos. They overbooked 25? 45? Anyway, they are in panic. They tried to request ppl to take next day flight by giving away 300 gift card etc. the ppl who were told there are no seats upset and arguing at the gate. Flight was delayed for one hour. Once we are on airplane, they are still shuffling seats around, so ppl cannot move forward. Just standing there for 10mins waiting for things to settle. Flight attendants did not give us a headphone. (I have a headphone for iPhone X so I could not connect it to their entertaiment system.)"
Cons: "Over an hour delay before boarding due to supposedly bad weather. Because flight was overbooked they were offering $400 gift card to change to standby on another flight. If you didn’t make that flight (evening), you’d be confirmed on a flight the following morning with one stop in Detroit (we booked a nonstop to Chicago). Uh, no thanks. Then to top it off, we’ve landed and been told that it will be at least an hour before we can deplane due to no availability at the gate (it’s 1145 pm right now). All this plus their new policy of not allowing us to select our seats because we bought the cheapest tickets. Really Delta? You go ahead and cater to the rich and I’ll choose to fly with another airline."
Pros: "This was our first time flying Delta and it was a very pleasurable experience. Boarding was very straight forward and the seats allocated comfortable. A surprise for us was being asked if we would like to move seats from the back of the aircraft to Comfort Economy (we think it was to do with weight balance! but appreciated very much none the less). The flight attendants were very professional and helpful, as you would hope all attendants on all airlines would be. We'd gladly fly Delta again anytime."
Pros: "Zones are more delineated."
Cons: "People were obviously cutting in line and edging up before their zones were called."
Pros: "Even though we were in the very back row, we did not experience a foul smell from the restrooms. This was a very nice relief. It is bad enough that the seats don't recline and there is no window in the very back row but prior experience with the added nausea of foul restroom order has been a serious insult to injury. In this case there was really minimal odor. Also since we are traveling as a family we are very happy that we were seated together. We have experienced the past that sometimes our seats will be fragmented and that creates major challenges when you are traveling with young children. However on this particular flight the ride was rough during both takeoff and landing, a lot of side to side shimmy. Also the cabin pressure varied quite a bit during landing causing all the kids to complain about some discomfort in their ears."
Pros: "Nothing really"
Cons: "Flight delay further to the 30 minutes additional 20 min due to crew being not there"
Pros: "Free lunch and free entertainment, who could ask for anything more."
Pros: "Food selection and quality were fine. I also enjoyed the entertainment options. Seat area was comfortable and spacious."
Cons: "The flight attendants were uniformly rude and nasty to passengers from start to finish. As I boarded, I asked for a piece of art to be stored in the wardrobe compartment. This was treated as an inconvenience. During and after boarding, flight attendants addressed passengers rudely when encouraging them to take their seats in a timely fashion. Later, when my seat mate politely asked a FA to repeat the food options, she asked, "Excuse me?" several times and seemed very irritated to have to repeat the choices for him. Also, near the end of the flight, a pillow was on the ground and a FA asked those seated in my row to pick it up. We responded that it wasn't ours and she said something to the effect of, "Oh yeah? So how did it get there?" (Maybe because someone else dropped it and we didn't notice?) The FAs seemed irritated to serve passengers at all. Each time they passed through for beverage or meal service, I felt like I was imposing on them. I have never witnessed anything quite like it. Makes me wonder why they were all so upset and and felt it appropriate to speak and act disrespectfully toward customers. (Delta, do you have any insights?) I hope they all got a good night's rest after that haul."
Cons: "As a Platinum AFK/KLM Skyteam member I was NOT allowed to use the Delta Lounge. On the flight the meal choice was poor and the staff were not really geared to serving regular clients. The movie choice was poor. I expected better!"
Pros: "Free entertainment and free food was unexpected and very welcomed, especially given the trend of charging for more and more features."
Cons: "The tsa is worthless"
Cons: "We are in the midst of a pandemic and while masks were "required," the number of passengers not wearing a mask or wearing a mask incorrectly was obscene. The flight attendants needed to be reminding people and correcting people on their mask wearing. More importantly, the airline needs to be upholding the safety of their passengers! I was also seated DIRECTLY next to another passenger, which breaks all social distancing. And while I repeatedly asked him to fix his mask, it still always managed to fall off his face while sleeping. I know it isn't really the fault of the crew, but I think the airline needs to do a better job."
Cons: "Delays could have been communicated better. My overhead light wasn’t functional."
Pros: "Easy to check my bag- fast process"
Cons: "Only 1 update in the 70min our flight was delayed! And we were stuck on a bus that took us to the plane for 20 min with no ventilation or updates. Just waiting outside the plane. Yikes!"
Cons: "Smelled like fish and urine, was an hour late"
Cons: "Fees for bags"
Pros: "Good amount of leg room and relatively cheap baggage check rate. Direct flight. On time. Easiest check in process I have ever experienced"
Cons: "No free snacks and limited free beverage selection."
Pros: "Once we got on board all was well."
Cons: "That we couldn’t get boarding passes online without buying a seat. We arrived from an Alaskan cruise about 6 hrs early and had to wait until 2 hrs before our flight, when a ticket agent arrived, before we could get where we could get food to eat. Then the security line was unbelievably long and we just got through shortly before our flight. Luckily there was a bagel shop right next to the boarding area."
Pros: "They got us safely to our destination."
Cons: "First of all, I tried to check in the night before our flight, only to find out that the only way you can do that is to pay money to select your seat. So, we checked in at the airport, only to find out that the cost for a checked bag is now $25 instead of the $20 it would have been to check in early online. Not to mention the fact they charge your for a carry-on which is $30 if you check-in ahead of time, but $40 if you check-in at the airport!! Clearly they want to try to give people an incentive to check-in early, which is fine, but then making you pay extra just to select a seat!! What a joke! We will NEVER fly Sun Country again!"
Cons: "Seats were too close together. My recline didn't work. When the seat ahead of me reclined, I had about 10inches between my face and the back of the seat. My coffee cup couldnt stay in the cup holder and I couldn't read the paper. SUPER uncomfortable and I'm just a medium sized woman. And SC did not include the cost of baggage or seat assignments in the ticket price. Lame."
Pros: "Staff was genuinely very pleasant and the boarding process (mind you the flight was half full) was fairly quick. Ha - then again, no one really had carry on baggage, so kept things easy ;p"
Cons: "I booked with Sun Country because rates were significantly cheaper than with Alaska and my priority was to book a nonstop flight. What they don't tell you when booking, is all of the fees associated with your flight that you pay AFTER booking. Baggage Fees: Sun Country doesn't allow you to take more than a personal item on the plane without a fee. It's $20 to check a bag (which you pretty much have to do, as their carry on bag dimensions are smaller than the average roll-a-board bag), and $30 if you want to carry a bag on. Per person. So there's $80 gone for my fiance and I, round trip. Seat Fees: Yes, you heard me right - then you have to PAY FOR YOUR SEAT. I'm sorry - what did I pay for when I purchase my ticket?? The front of the coach cabin starts at $25 per seat (including exit rows), $20, $11 towards the middle, and $2 at the back of the plane. Ok, so apparently if you check in online, you have to select a seat and you have to pre-pay for bags. Ok, felt like I was stiff armed here. The fiance and I decided to go with the $2 seats - can't be that bad, right? Boarding and flight crew were lovely - no complaints here. The plane itself, and the additional costs associated in-air...another story. We were going to a wedding, so he had his suit - the flight attendant let us know the plane didn't have a closet (wait, what?!) so we had to lay it down in one of the overhead bins. Don't worry folks - the bins were next to empty across the entire plan (again, wait, what?!) because of course no one wanted to have to pay $10 more to carry on a smaller bag than it would cost them to check a NORMAL bag. One of the two bathrooms was working, and the entire back of the plane smelled like feces was being recycled through the air system. No wonder these were $2 seats. The aisle was full of people standing the whole flight because the plane only had one working restroom. Entertainment? Hope your phone is charged - the planes are old and don't have outlets. The options for 'entertainment' offered for free on larger carriers like Alaska, are $15 per device on Sun Country - so let's say that's another $60 round trip if we each wanted a 'normal' flight amenity. TOTAL - we're now looking at $144 of charges I would never have imagined ON TOP of the fees I had paid when booking. Next time, I'll go with Alaska - I know what to expect, and know there are no real hidden charges anywhere. At that rate, the cost isn't that different either."
Cons: "Not even a place to charge your phone"
Cons: "- Flight was delayed for undisclosed reasons. - Boarding took longer than needed. - Flight Attendants were extremely unhelpful and rude regarding our Emotional Support Animal. - Flight Attendants also seemed unsure of what take off regulations were and scolded us for things other passengers were allowed to do. - Getting our bags from baggage claim took over 30 minutes. - Seats were small and uncomfortable. I'm only 5'8" and my knees were touching the seat in front of me. We will not fly Sun Country again."
Cons: "Both flights to and from MSP were 2 hours late taking off. To make matters worse, we boarded on time and had to sit in the plane on the tarmac for two hours. There were no services (drinks, snacks etc.) provided during these two hours while we sat on the tarmac. The explanation on my second flight was that they were waiting for paper work and the bags to be loaded. It definitely doesn't take two hours to load bags and finish paperwork! I will not be flying Sun Country again."
Pros: "Everyone, from the personnel at check-in, the gate to the entire flight team were efficient, professional, cheerfully helpful, and all-around in good spirits. Given that Thanksgiving eve is such a busy travel day, I was pleased with the positive experience."
Pros: "Flight crew were all professional and efficient! Relatively smooth boarding and on time departure and arrival."
Cons: "Don’t know if it’s just in the exit row, but it is not an exaggeration to say that was the most uncomfortable plane seat I have ever sat in. I’ll bring my own cushion next time I fly Sun Country haha. Also, Sun Country’s app needs work."
Pros: "Boarding & deplaning process was quick & efficient. Temperature on the plane was good."
Cons: "Mobile check-in would be so much better. Seats could be a little more comfortable. Some kind of complimentary snack would be nice for longer flights."
Pros: "Great flight times, and great price."
Cons: "Small cramped seats, and I'm not even that big of a guy."
Pros: "I upgraded to first class, so everything was smooth and comfortable. The flights were on time both ways."
Pros: "Had aisle seat and middle seat passenger didn't show up."
Cons: "Typical uncomfortable airline seat."
Pros: "Great service"
Cons: "The flight attendants could have been nicer but all and all good experience."
Pros: "We liked the flight crew, the gate check baggage, not boarding by zones"
Cons: "No free snacks, also that Sun Country airlines is planning on turning to no frills like Spirit thus I will no longer be a customer once that happens. Nobody needs another Spirit airlines- trust me!"
Cons: "It would be better to have more food choices - especially for flights which depart late in the evening."
Pros: "Being my first time ever taking first class, I was impressed with the meals and the service. I"
Cons: "This flight was delayed due to an issue."
Pros: "Flight attendant Alisa was great!"
Cons: "Most of all I don't like that it costs $50 each to catch an earlier flight even though there was plenty of room on the airplane. * I hate flying and there was lots of mild turbulence. *small seats. *no cookies or nuts offered. * no video capabilities."
Cons: "Not only do they not have a mobile app, but their website was malfunctioning so I couldn't check-in online. At the SEA airport they didn't have a self-service kiosk, so we had to wait in line. Modernize!"
Cons: "Plane was an hour late in leaving. Seats crowded and only middle seat available, We spent $15. for preferred seating for my husband and then none of us got to sit together. Nothing for snack and offered drinks once."
Cons: "Seat had very little cushion."
Pros: "Overall it was fine, got me from point a to b."
Cons: "Boarding was a bit slow Uncomfortable and cramped seats No food provided for free No free entertainment Screaming baby behind me Kind of frustrating that I paid $25 to check one bag, then because it was full they were offering to check people's bags for free at the gate..."
Pros: "I've flown Sun Country in the past once or twice and had generally positive experiences. Sun Country did offer food vouchers of $10 and $12 due to the delays, and $100 towards a future Sun a Country flight, which is more than I could say for Spirit Airlines. The staff that I encountered did the best with the information they had and were always friendly, but they didn't seem to have the information required to help the passengers they were working with."
Cons: "I flew from Minneapolis to Seattle and back for Christmas with Sun Country and each of my flights was delayed by over three hours. The initial flight we arrived at our gate to discover the flight had been cancelled with no warning and we had been switched to a flight leaving six hours later. When we checked in no one said a word, and when we arrived at our gate there was no Sun Country employee to inform us of the change. The only reason that we and our fellow passengers learned of this at all was by checking the departure boards at the airport and learning it had been cancelled. To add insult to injury they forced each of the passengers to go back out to the front ticket counter to have new tickets reissued rather than having them printed out at our gate, meaning we all had to go back through security due to what seemed to amount to the laziness of the carrier. On the return flight my flight was initially pushed back by one hour, then two, and eventually ended with a four hour delay. Several of these changes were made within mere minutes of each other. While I understand that delays happen, that also means rides needs to be reworked, plans cancelled, etc. To have the first few hours of time with family robbed by a delay, and the final hours of time with family marred by having to rework plans and make last second changes is a disappointment."
Cons: "My flight to Minneapolis was delayed, which caused me to miss my flight from Minneapolis to Boston. Sun Country lied and said that my flight would wait for me, and there were no other flights going to Boston until the next day, resulting in a 10 hour delay. They then did not compensate me for my hotel stay and transportation, which I had to cover myself."
Cons: "My work trip was canceled and I was told by a Canadian flight network agency that it was a non refundable flight but I could change it for $100. I booked via kayak but somehow was routed to this agency in Canada and it was extremely difficult to understand the staff member. What I could understand is it is a waste of $ and I won't be booking again."
Pros: "It was a cheap flight, nothing outstanding. I'd fly with them again."
Pros: "smooth, no frills, great ride"
Pros: "Price of tickets"
Cons: "Smells on the plant"
Pros: "It was a pleassant flight, I will definetly fly this company again"
Pros: "I liked the time and direct flight from MSP to Boston."
Cons: "From the time we were waiting for the plane, the attendants at the airport gate came across rude / and threatening when asking for people to check their carry-ons. While we had no carry-ons it was very striking as I have never heard this kind of communication in decades of traveling with different airlines. While on the plane, we sat in the absolute back seat, and also caught "attitude" of attendants when they communicated to one another about the carry-ons they were holding for the agent. Eye-rolling and tone. These frustrations should not be aired to customers."
Pros: "Had to pay extra when booking, but the extra legroom was comfortable."
Cons: "Our expected boarding time of 12:35 turned out to be 1:20 instead and of course our flight was late arriving at MSP. No reason for the delay was given."
Pros: "Everything about the flight was great."
Cons: "Only one small issue: I found it almost impossible to reach anyone at Sun Country, by phone, a day or two before the flight. Hopefully this is a temporary situation."
Pros: "Over 12 hour delay. Barely any counication"
Pros: "The flight was delayed but the crew at the gate in Seattle was wonderful. The young ladies were professional and very sweet."
Cons: "The flight was delayed for over two hours."
Pros: "Friendly staff and crew. Clean plane. Functional seat. On time. Suitcase arrived as well. Albeit it took quite awhile...not sure why."
Cons: "All went well."
Pros: "Great for Red Eye flights. They were respectful of announcements and lights being off."
Cons: "I arrived 3 hours before the flight and there was no one at the kiosk to check in/check bags until 2.25 hours prior. That was a bit frustrating."
Pros: "Its quick and easy."
Pros: "We upgraded to first class and enjoyed the 2 and 1/2 hour flight. Everything was painless."
Pros: "They did not cancel the flight despite the bad weather. Many airlines cancelled their flight."
Pros: "Surly - LiftBridge - Fulton Beers (excellent selection) Great food selection Supporting local businesses, including SunCountry"
Pros: "Everyone was very friendly and professional & very accompanying. Had a very good flight thanks"
Cons: "Everything was wonderful."
Cons: "Sun country needs accessible kiosks to chech in,,,,,,,,"
Pros: "Spacious seats (although I am a small person!) Courteous staff On time Clean"
"This is the worst airline ever! Do not fly this airline if you want to actually get to your destination on time. Multiple delays, cancellations, and long lines. Very poor customer service."
Cons: "Seats are way to small. Crew was rude. Flight was 2-1/2 hrs late"
Pros: "Getting home safely."
Cons: "Getting home on time."
Pros: "Not at all"
Cons: "Your rules! Spirit allows 1 carry on? Sucks. You have to bay $50 to check A single bag? Sucks and too expensive why don’t you try to be like Jet Blue and make it nice for us flyers. Spirit blows"
Pros: "I like better if the food is free"
Cons: "Too crowded given the current situation"
Pros: "Flight started and reached on time."
Pros: "Easy and quick boarding"
Cons: "You get what you pay for and the flight was super cheap. However, the nickle and dime gouging for bags was a turnoff. The main reason I'll never fly again though, was pure discomfort. The seats resemble metal folding chairs with fabric stretched over them and they don't recline - at all. For a cross country trip and a red-eye return these are deal breakers. Two days later and my back still aches. This airline does a good job at what it does, however, that's not very much. If you have more than two pennies to rub together, you'd be smart to sterr clear of it, as I will be doing from now on. Lesson learned and chalking this one up to experience."
Pros: "The crew was nice. Y"
Cons: "Everything else. I couldn't check in online. When I got to the airport, I was told I didn't have a flight. I showed the lady my confirmation email and she kept telling me that I only had one flight (this was my return flight home from Florida), I had to show her the difference between the two flights. Then she tried to tell me that I had cancelled my flight online..... which I hadn't, hence me being there trying to check in. Horrible company. They push their flight attendants to have customers sign up for the Spirit credit card. Just horrible horrible company."
Cons: "Please do not use FlightNetwork as a third party booking service anymore. When I first booked my ticket through them, after finding the deal on kayak, they sent an email saying that the flight booking was pending. I had to call them to confirm they had actually booked the flight. Then they mispelled my email so I didn't receive a confirmation email from spirit until I called the airline directly. And then I found out that not only had FlightNetwork collected $20 for their poor services they had charged me for my flight in addition to spirit charging me for my flight. I was doubly charged for the same flight and was only alerted to it because I was skeptical of FlightNetwork's business practices and decided to double check my bank account. I am now in the process of getting a refund from FlightNetwork. I urge you to discontinue business with them as this experience seems to be characteristic of their company. My partner's flight was booked incorrectly and FlightNetwork's track record on Yelp is incorrigible."
Pros: "It was a terrible experience start to finish and I will never fly with Spirit again. It started off with inefficient and confusing lines and then it was delayed over 3 hours with no posted updates at the gate of explanations. There were no apologies or offers to amend the situation. The seats do not recline and the space is very cramped and I don't think it is actually legal to not offer free drinking water when passengers are stuck on board for over 6 hours which was the case for this flight. Only because after boarding everyone they realized the door wouldn't close properly and had maintenance work on it for over an hour. on my return trip to Seattle the check in process at BWI was even worse and the flight attendants were late to the gate so boarding was delayed. They also told me there were no available seats to transfer too, but once on board I discovered there were over 80 seats available on the flight. So she completely lied to me for no explainable reason. Over all I was appalled on both trips and quite frankly, the tickets are not that much less than any other airline going from BWI to SEA and back - the benefit of reasonable comfort and human decency far out weighs the possible 30 bucks I saved and then spent on a carry on bag. Spirit should not be allowed to operate, it is a shady and mean organization and I have made sure to broadcast my terrible experience to everyone I know. As a travel site you should really consider you're role in promoting such a dismal travel experience/airline. I am loyal to kayak and generally trust the validity of the site, but i am disappointed that I was encouraged to purchase such a terrible trip through your site and may consider different options in the future."
Cons: "No part of this flight was an enjoyable experience."
Pros: "The crew during the flight was pleasant."
Cons: "They say why're the cheapest airline around, and that's true....in the worst ways. The flight itself isn't expensive, but they charge $30 per bag you carry on and more for checked bags. They don't offer free water on long flights, and they make you pay for any and all beverages. Nothing is included in your flight. Their new planes, while 'green' and fuel efficient are unbearably uncomfortable to fly in. The seats are hard molded plastic with about an inch of padding and aren't adjustable T all. Flying more than four hours was pure hell, seated upright. Also, be sure to pay for your bag at the ticket counter. They charge you twice as much at the gate if you don't remember. And it's printed on your boarding pass, so don't think they're letting you off easy. It's a trap to get you to pay more."
Cons: "I had 3 bags which could easily fit into the cabin space. One of the bags I had carried was the same bag which I had while boarding the flight from Boston to Chicago on 8th Jun 17. While in that trip I was not charged for the bag as the size & weight fitted into your norms. But I had to pay $195 for 3 bags, including the bag which I had while leaving Boston. The behavior of the staff manning the boarding gate was nasty. As I was not having a credit card with me, I chose to pay cash. But they refused to accept cash & told me that my flight will be cancelled and I won't be allowed to board the aircraft. I panicked & requested the passengers to take money from me and swipe their card. With great difficulty I found a passenger who obliged me. A fresh boarding pass was issued to all 4 of us. The bag which I had while taking the flight to Chicago on 8/6/17 fitted on the equipment which measures the sizes, but I was made to pay for it. Very horrible experience of flying a so called low fare airline."
Cons: "Upon checking in, the guy working the counter said he didn't know how to put in my TSA precheck number and that was going to be it. I had to ask him to please ask his colleague, who showed him in 3 seconds. Not exactly great customer service. Then for boarding, the woman called the group numbers out of order, causing confusion. The seats were so incredibly uncomfortable, I could not sleep at all! It was an overnight flight to boot. Ugh. Never again will I fly this airline. I felt lucky to make it to the east coast. There was no confidence instilled by the employees."
Pros: "The crew was friendly and informative and my seat was comfortable. I also received numerous updates regarding my delayed flight so I felt well-informed as to the situation."
Cons: "My flight was delayed three hours. In spite of this lengthy delay, no complimentary food or drink was offered on the flight. I have experienced delayed flights prior to this and have found that the airline generally tries to make it up a little bit to the passengers by offering them some basic complimentary snacks and drinks, which I feel is a nice gesture. I was a little surprised that this was not offered with my delayed flight yesterday. The only available food and drink options were very pricey so I went without."
Pros: "Crew were nice"
Cons: "Never EVER have I flown with an airline that charges you for carry-on luggage. If I would have known this and all the other extra hidden fees, including (extra chargers for checking passengers in..etc) I most definitely would have picked a different airline. To make matters even worse, they never once told me while checking in at their airline counter that they charge for carry on luggage. So.. when I arrived to my boarding gate, they announced that all carry on luggage was an additional fee of $100.00, unless already checked in at the counter for their base rate of $60.00 FOR A CARRY ON.... In order to board my flight, I had to pay $100.00 for one tiny little suitcase. I was beyond aggravated. It felt like this airlines entire intentions were to scam every passenger that boarded. At one point on the flights, as the flight attendants were going through the emergency procedures, a passengers behind me said "You will only give us our oxygen masks, for an additional charge" I will NEVER fly with Spirit Airline again. Every employee that I came across during my travels were incredibly rude, and very unhelpful. Spirit does have cheaper flights, but after all the up-charges you end up paying way more than you will if you just book with another airline."
Pros: "Not much except the quick boarding but that's because no one brings a checked bag which is a HUGE negative."
Cons: "First of all the people who work at spirit in Florida are very rude. Second it is a major scam that they advertise cheap flights. Their flights are cheap because they charge you for your carry on. $57 to carry on a small roller bag and $50 to check your bag. To me that is unbelievable. There is plenty of space and it makes no sense. They also won't even give you a free cup of water. Flying naturally dehydrates your body. I'm surprised we don't hear about more people getting sick or passing out on their flights! I just couldn't believe for a 3 hr flight I'd have to buy a water bottle. In the end just was not worth the cheaper flight price. I will never fly spirit again."
Pros: "Crew was very nice."
Cons: "Ridiculous charges for everything you get on other carriers for free: printing boarding pass, choosing a seat, water, carry on bag allowance. Additionally seats are extremely small(and I am not a big person), no inflight entertainment available at all, no option for an electronic boarding pass and additionally the flight was delayed. With what I paid for the flight itself, the charge for 1 carry-on bag and the fee for selecting a seat at the time of booking, my total cost was more than what I would have paid on Delta or American. Will not be a repeat customer of Spirit."
Cons: "There was a medical emergency on board that had everyone questioning what was going on. We all heard a scream, that of course freaked all of us out. Nobody was telling us what was going on or asked for a Doctor on board. We even landed without knowing what happened. Because most of the staff was tending to this issue, when it came time to throw out trash, the flight attendant was swiftly walking down the plane calling out "trash". I didn't even have enough time to hand him mine before he passed our row without looking. The flight was also extremely turbulent. And a word of the wise for future Spirit purchasers: the seats do not recline AND there is no on board entertainment."
Pros: "Good service and staff worked with a smile."
Cons: "The website is not the easiest to navigate. I don't like the look...not very professional. The ads boast of the airlines low cost but it Nichols and dimes you for every little thing. I wasn't happy that when I did the early check in the day before departure it offered me to get bumped up to Zone 2 so we would get seated first and have first access to the overhead bin. I purchased it for about $20 but on the way to West Palm they called both zones to get up to board the plane and for the return trip to Boston, Zone 1 got called first to board. This was money spent for nothing....like a donation. the bottom line is that what we spent with Spirit was not less expensive than other airlines. By the time you add all extra fees, there are no savings."
Cons: "the flight was delayed again and again for over 18 hours even as other planes from other airlines took off around us. at one point we boarded the flight and sat 10 feet from the gate for over an hour before they returned us to thr gate and made us disembark. for another set of delays we were told that the person supposed to tow the plane had lost his access badge and another person had to drive in from home to do the work. other than this, the gate staff gave the passengers limited to no information. no amenities were provided to delayed passengers (no snacks, accommodations, etc). plus, the terminal had only one women's restroom with only two stalls, one of which was frequently out of toilet paper."
Pros: "The flight to Fort Lauderdale was outstanding in all respects, including carrying on our bags."
Cons: "The Spirit check-in for the flight back (2/27/17#616) was degrading, confused, and expensive: the worst ever in a long experience flying worldwide and our last with Spirit. After making them aware of a hip transplant, we were directed to the wrong location eliciting an rude expletive; redirected, we were told our carry-on was too big and charged $50. to check it. I had carried it on at Logan and with Delta 2/8 and 2/10) and many other airlines before. On board people all around us carried on bags similar in size to our checked bag."
Cons: "They told me I needed to spend a lot of money to sit with my 6 and 7 year old children. A LOT of money. Without spending extra, we would be assigned random seats. I didn't believe them because it breaks FAA rules, , so I checked in without our. Basing the seats and I was already seated with my kids. They obviously lied and tried for the upsell. They changed my flight 4 times and never sent a notification Website is intentionally deceptive and horribly designed. I tried to purchase bags and it checked me in (without my consent), tried to upsell me on a credit card 4 times, tried to upsell and confuse me about purchasing priority boarding, Only one working bathroom on a full flight. They deceived everyone at the gate and said a carry on was 100 dollars but failed to mention that it only applied to carry ons over a certain size. Worst company I've ever dealt with. Deceptive."
Cons: "After a slight parking delay at the airport I made it to the Spirit check-in 43 minutes before departure. Spirit representatives had already left the counter leaving me, my family, and several other passengers who arrived just after me with no ability to get boarding passes. We proceeded to the security area where we could see the Spirit reps who could have easily checked us in at that point. We spoke out to them asking for help but they simply looked down and ignored us. They told the TSA agents they would not come out till after the flight departed. Imagine how frustrating that was to hear. No other airline behaves like this. Later, my request for cancellation and refund was rejected because I missed the 45 minute window. I am out $544. I managed to get a flight with Delta that morning and was treated like royalty by comparison. The Delta flight was almost the same price to boot. Never again Spirit! Not worth saving a few pennies to be treated like that."
Pros: "The flight crew was very good. They made constant announcements as to the status of the flight and anticipated turbulence. The flight attendants were also good"
Cons: "Where to begin. You arrive at the airport to endless lines. There were three lines to check in and we learned eventually that one line was for Cuban flights. One for us and one for something else. However, the staff was rude and there was no signage indicating which was which. Then the baggage claim lady charged me $59 extra for my bag but then said that if I had had my friends check the bag I wouldn't have had to pay the fee. Of course then it was too late. Then the flight was delayed because the bad overbooked it. Finally at Boston our bags took forever to arrive and when they did the were soaking wet. I understand that Spirit is meant to be the economical carrier but that is no excuse for rude and incompetent staff. I heard SOO many people say they would never fly Spirit again. Get it together Spirit!"
Cons: "Spirit Airlines is laughably inconvenient, and derisively unconventional. Stewards are made to be salespeople, and the simplest amenities (such as a seat-back tray or glass of water) are pointedly unavailable. I spent a hellish 10 hours flying Spirit Airlines; having done so, I would never recommend a friend (nor, even, an enemy) go through the same discomfort, ridicule, and expense. The captain was flippant regarding the discomfort of the flight. Stewardesses spoke loudly to one another in the back of the plane, non-stop, for two hours. Seats are ridiculously close to one another, do not recline, and offer trays without proper space to be useful. Spirit makes a point of reminding its customers, every step of the way, how limited their flight experience will be. When I purchased flight tickets through Kayak, I did not realize that Spirit would strip me, the paying customer, of every possible amenity, all for the farce of a"bargain" flight. Nowhere was I informed of needing to pay 55$ per carry-on bag at the airport, nor of the further embarrassment of having to pay $15 to simply occupy a seat on the plane. Have I not purchased a ticket? Have I not given my money? Why should I be denied the right to sit on the actual plane? At least three other customers in line in front of me were dissatisfied with their check-in experience. None were comforted by Spirit staff, whose job, clearly, is merely to demand money and offer further ways in which an already paying customer can be divested of the contents of their wallet. I pity all who ride Spirit, work for Spirit, or consider becoming business partners with this company. Clearly, being "the youngest fleet of any major U.S. airline," has its drawbacks."
Pros: "Totally so mad at check in on line 24 hours ahead of time - found out one piece of checked bags is $40, a carry on was another $20 and seat assignement was yet another fee. All this after buying a ticket! We had no idea there were so many other fees. The airport was was out of our way and we only booked the flight because the fare was lower. When we found at AT CHECK IN, 24 hours ahead of time about all the extr fees, we rebooked on another airline and said forget this airline, what a rip off! Never again will book this airline with all those hidden fees. It was excessive and not mentioned till check in. Bad business model!!"
Pros: "The plane was clean (looked new) and the crew was very nice and helpful!"
Cons: "After having to pay to choose seats and paying over $400 in changes for luggage (2 people one carry on and one checked luggage each) we also had to pay for any beverage or snack on the plane. Also, apparently we didn't read carefully, though no one was able to point me in the correct direction, there is a limit to the weight on the checked luggage of 42lbs and we each were at 45lbs.... I'm aware of the 50lbs limit not 42. We had to over stuff our carry-ons after paying over $400 to even have checked luggage in the first place!! Otherwise we would have had to pay anther $100 for an additional carry-on. The seats are padded shells and, for long flights, can be uncomfortable. We ended up being over an hour late, there was no communication until the landing announcement."
Cons: "I had 2 tickets booked for Boston on November 17th at 5:58pm. I tried to check in online for both travelers, but according to Spirit Airlines website, you cannot check 2 tickets from the same account. When I arrived at BWI airport and went to the Spirit Airlines desk the lady told me that the flight is closed even though it was still not boarding time yet. I explained to her what happened and asked for cooperation, but she just kept repeating that flight is closed and next flight is in 2 days, which I couldn't wait for, because of the scheduled appointments that I had in Boston. In general the service was terrible and the website platform didn't work right. I had tk pay $250 dollars for last minute ticket while I already lost the money for the first two tickets."
Pros: "Flight into LAX was experienced and the pilot landed well."
Cons: "You get excited cause the ticket is cheap, then you have to pay for everything. The motto this trip was, "do I have to pay extra for that?" If you are going with a backpack and that's it, this might be the ticket for you. But if you were like me, and needed to take more than a toothbrush for three days, you have you pay for luggage, then pay for water, and boarding passes, and CARRY ON BAGS. The list goes on and on. Spirit doesn't care about you, just your money. I will shell out the extra bucks to get at least a water and a seat that reclines. I will be warning everyone I know about how terrible Spirit was, and I personally will never fly this airline again."
Cons: "Flight was delayed 1.5 hours that they did not tell us about until we got to the gate because of 'air traffic', which should have been known ahead of time. Flight attendants were obviously tired and in a bad mood. Very small room in seat. The passenger behind me had her knees digging into my back the entire trip. A woman got too drunk and had to be moved to the front of the plane right in front of me because she was too intoxicated and out of hand. She was yelling and then threw up. It was overall one of the worst flights I've had in a very long time. It wasn't all Spirit's fault, but they didn't help the situations because you're paying for the "bare minimum"."
Cons: "Horrible Horrible airlines. First airline that I will make it a point to never fly again. They obviously are nickle and dime-ing everything, but more more predatory than that. Was warned by many on how to avoid this, but still ended up with $140 in extra fees and spent 30 mins on the phone to a foreign customer service line. Spirit changed the gate 20 minutes before boarding but kept the electronic signage same, so people arriving on time waiting at the original gate and missed their flight. With some repeated experience you may be able to to learn minimize you losses but honestly it is not worth this experience again. And if you search online, you will notice that this is a common experience with Spirit."
Cons: "Where do I begin? The price seemed reasonable until I arrived and they charged me $55 to CARRY-ON my bag. Would have been $55 to check it but I was afraid they would lose it. Then boarding the plane there was a sign saying "FIT CREW: We have the youngest crew of any airline". To me that says age discrimination and also inexperience. When I finally sat down, there was trash on my seat and also facial oil on the window. It was clear that they did not clean between flights. Sitting down, my seat was broken and reclined every time I leaned against it. I had a child about 5 years old behind me that was disturbing everyone in our area and the flight attendant never addressed the situation with their parent. When the child was slamming their tray up and down on the back of my seat, a stranger finally said something. Also, don't expect to even get water for free. $3 a pop! The landing was also extremely rough. Needless to say, I will never fly this airline again!"
Cons: "I fly a lot. I took spirit because of the great deal I got, but will never fly them again no matter what. I will pay more for a flight because of the poor customer service. My flight was cancelled after being delayed after 10 mins. This is was about my 10th time flying the airlines, I was trying to give them a chance, and every time have had serious problems. I work customer service and understand how annoying these message are and realize there will probably be nothing done about how I feel and the poor service I received, but really this was a horrible experience. Lucky I am savy at finding new flights. I stood in line to change mine while on the phone with spirit and lucky cancelled the flight with spirit. I had to rebook with a different airlines. The difference between the flight was $240. My husband rebooked it for me while I was on the phone with spirit. Never again will I fly this airlines, no matter what I do!"
Pros: "The cabin crew and pilot wert wonderful!"
Cons: "Checking in was a nightmare! The self serve kiosk was at the counter and we had to wait in line with full service to even get to one, that took almost 40 minutes, then tsa had an unbelievably long line and took another hour! We got to the gate just in time for final boarding call. The flight crew announced they were going to close doors but changed their mind to continue "refueling" and let almost fifteen more people on! If I had been one of those people who got to the gate to be told boarding was completed I would have been furious! They needed to wait for those people, still it delayed our flight about 20 minutes. The flight itself was a little bumpy, definitely an economy airline."
Cons: "We had the unfortunate experience of dealing Spirit Airlines yesterday at Hartsfield-Jackson Airport, August 13th, on the way to Boston for a wedding. We were asked to check in at the kiosk, which we did. And after spending $412.36 on airline tickets in July, we had to pay $55 for one carry-on bag. After completing the transaction, we were notified that our boarding passes could not be printed and head to the desk. After speaking with their customer representative, "James", we were told the flight was closed and there was nothing he could do. He said the flights are non-refundable and we should have arrived sooner, although our receipt clearly shows we were there ahead of their 45 minute mark. We asked him for our $55 dollars back for the baggage and he said he'll need to get his supervisor. This is when "Carmen" the supervisor came to the station. Their names are in quotations because both employees refused to turn their badges over to show their names, which seems very shady at a security-centered facility like a main international hub airport. (I took photographs of both employees) She said she can not give us a refund and rudely pointed to our receipt to mention all baggage fees are non-refundable. We asked her why would Spirit even charge us a baggage fee for a flight they were not going to let us get on and she said she didn't know, but she can't help us. Neither employee offered any assistance to get us on another flight. We have contacted Spirit Airlines with the receipts showing the time and photographs of the employees, but I think this issue requires further assistance after reading multiple stories online dealing with this same airline. The fact that they are allowed to charge us for bags the day of, then not refund the money, while taking our flight fees, seems illegal. I urge you to take a look into their business practices. They have cost my family hundreds of dollars, with regards to hotel and rental car cancellations, lost traveling fees, time off work, and the main displeasure of missing a wedding!"
Cons: "Spirit airlines is VERY misleading. Yes it was the cheapest flight as stated but then there were the hidden costs. baggage for one luggage or carry on? Ridiculous when other airlines don't charge for the first one. A little overweight? A huge hefty fine. Pay for your seat?! There were no free seats at all!!! No complimentary snack or drink??? Charge for water!!! Ridiculous! The seats were like being packed in a sardine can and no recline which I had a terrible headache when the we finally landed! By the time I had to pay for the "extras" I could have flown first class on another airline! Never again will I will flight with Spirit and will highly recommend anyone else not to also!!!"
Pros: "Unfortunately there is nothing positive to say here."
Cons: "Sadly we had a horrible experience at the airport with the spirit staff. The customer service representative had over 60 people lined up against the wall, not allowing them to "check in" because of minor delay. They were then hand picking who they would let in line, based on their flight and boarding pass. In addition to this I didn't want to spend my day at the airport so I booked another flight home. THEN to realize HE made a mistake..... That was the flight delayed! I then had to ask for a refund and explain that he mixed up my flight. Had 40 min to make it through security at that point. It's been 3 weeks and still no refund. Never again!"
Cons: "The check in process for horrific. We waited in line for more than an hour and we were at the front of a line that was at least 3 hours long. The counter was understaffed. Supervisors were not available. Counter staff told us the rest of the staff was "hiding in the back" because they did not want to deal with the problems out front. The seats were very uncomfortable and did not recline at all. It might have been worth it if the flight really was as cheap as the original price, but once you paid for your seat, checked bags, and carry on bags, the cost was comparable to the major airlines. Never again. We are considering buying one way tickets home at the counter for extreme amounts of money just to avoid flying home with them."
Cons: "My return flight ticket was cancelled because I did not take the initial flight to Las Vegas. I booked a different leaving flight from Boston because of a job interview and when I showed at the airport to make my return flight booked through Kayak on Spirit , I found out my ticket was cancelled. I was forced to purchase another ticket from another airline. This was concerning since Kayak sent me a reminder about my flight to tell me the flight time had changed. Horrible Customer service at Spirit. The guy i spoke with at the customer service counter said it was not his problem and walked away."
Pros: "Nothing good about this airline... It is a horrible airline run by rude inconsiderate people who try and rip you off with hidden fees and services! Their business motto is "Let's trick our customers into paying more and then lie to them when they ask simple questions" That's not a good way to run a company and quite frankly I don't understand how they're still in business.... See my bad review section for more details"
Cons: "The flights were delayed both ways on the round trip, the first flight by 3 hrs and the return flight 1 hour. Both flights were not delayed due to weather because it was nice out. Just poor management. Our return flight was delayed when I woke up that morning and all day it remained delayed on their website. Until 2 hrs before the flight it was switched back to ontime. We called Spirit to confirm and they said it was ontime. So we had to rush out of the house and skip the dinner my father in law made everyone because the airport is an hour away. We got to the airport only to find the flight was delayed on the board. We went to the gate and the Spirit employees kept assuring us the flight was not delayed even after the scheduled time the flight was suppose to leave they continued to lie and were completely dishonest with everyone on the flight. Very rude customer service and they would just ignore people and walk down the runway and shut the door so they wouldn't talk to us or give anyone an update. We could have gone and had dinner had they not lied to us about the departure time. Just the worst airline I've ever dealt with in my life... they may be cheap but you get what you pay for... and any upfront cost for the ticket is false advertising because once you purchase the ticket you then have to pay for a carry on bag, you have to pay to pick a seat on the plane, you have to pay to check in when you're at the airport, and you have to pay for any services on the plane including the "complimentary drink or snack." Their seats on the plane do not recline at all to make things more comfortable either. I will never fly them again and I warn anyone else who might think saving $50 on the ticket price is worth it cause they get it back in the end and then some!"
Pros: "Cheap flight, no waiting to print boarding pass."
Cons: "The flight was slightly delayed, but the gate agent did not seem to know about it and the email was sent well after the scheduled boarding time. It was completely unnecessary for me to run through the airport. The same thing happened the last time I flew from BWI to Logan with Spirit."
Cons: "The flight attendants were totally unprofessional. After falling asleep during taken off, what sounded like a rowdy brunch with too many mimosas woke me up. It turned out to be four flight attendants hanging out in the rear of the plane chatting very loudly. They were certainly the loudest people on this 6:30 am flight. They were much louder than the three young unattended minor boys on the flight. It sounded like they were having a great time. They were even swapping "funny" stories about passengers from previous flights. I could have slept despite the uncomfortable non-reclining seats on this flight but the flight attendant party made it it impossible. I am sure I was not the only one. Everyone in the back 5 rows was awake. The most unprofessional customer service I have ever experienced. On another note, the spirit website that one must use to check in for free is a pain. The mobile version does not work properly and the password reset link doesnt workl"
Pros: "Absolutely nothing."
Cons: "We were told that our flight was delayed, with no explanation. Then, we were told it was weather. However, weather in Boston was clear and then slightly stormy. They said it was a 'ground stop' which is for severe weather. People waiting for passengers in Boston said that the weather was not severe. Then, after waiting for hours, with a plane at our gate, our flight was canceled, without explanation. People received conflicting information from, a cabin pressure issue, to a severe smell aboard the plane, to a ground stop in Boston. Spirit could not book us on another flight or a different airline until potentially late the next day (we didn't wait in the 2-hour line to find out). This is the last time I will fly with Spirit. Budget tickets shouldn't mean budget service and lies."
Pros: "There is nothing which I can like about spirit airline"
Cons: "Spirit hidden charges and they will tell you to pay for even small hand bags at double price."
Pros: "Crew stayed friendly despite an annoying delay. Information about the delay was first shared quickly (by the pilot I think)."
Cons: "After not even boarding before our departure time and then being told to deboard and wait two hours, there were several concerns. 1) The staff who handled boarding weren't articulate in the process and came off rude. 2) By the time we deboarded, all the kitchens were closed and even snack places were closing. So everyone who was now upset and hungry. 3) When it was time to board again, no announcement was made over the loud speaker, despite several of us getting confirmation that would happen when we first got off. 4) If it was my company, and I would have noticed the terminal was closing the shops and would have offered complimentary beverages to passengers during the flight. Almost everyone I talked to or overheard directly expressed their dissatisfaction with Spirit airlines and vowed they would not be using them again. An unexpected free soda would have been a cheap way for you to sway some people to give it another shot."
Cons: "Customer service was absolutely terrible. I thought that the walk-up fee for luggage would be $35/45 but when it was $50 I gave a shocked expression. Which, that's fine if it was advertised that way (I'm sure it was). But when the lazy desk attendant, who was doing nothing but holding a wall up, says "I can't believe people are shocked when you tell them that, it's like come on you know." I'm fine with you saying that when I'm gone, but when people are standing right there and can hear you while you are acting like they aren't even standing there....that is when you have a customer service issue. Although I wanted to lash into him, I felt like it wasn't worth it and much below my level, and I apologize for not gathering that person's name so you may address this properly. Understandable that there are delays, but there shouldn't be a delay EVERY time that a person fly's on a certain airline. I'll try to print tickets online and it says error, but then need to have a discussion about why I am not paying $10."
Cons: "My flight to Boston was 1:54 PM ORD 6/2/16. I booked this flight months ago in order to attend my daughter MIT convocation ceremony on 6/3/16. I arrived at ORD very early in the morning on 6/2/16 and waited at the gate L7 before 11 AM. The flight was kept delay several times, I waited near by the gate and checked with the desk lady many times and was kept told that the flight was delayed, finally the flight left around 3:55 PM without any announcement. I missed the flight. I was told to go to gate 11A for this issue. Martin who worked there with the customers like me who missed the flight was very impatient and not helpful at all. Never take the Sprint airline again."
