55 min transit, not sure how they planned to make it work
I was very impressed with this airline. The flight was comfortable the plane was clean and the attendants were very nice. The zipper on my suitcase broke after I checked it. The airline wrapped it in plastic wrap, so it wouldn’t continue to fall apart. Every item I had in the suitcase was there when I got to Los Angeles. That is above and beyond!
Pros: "The whole business class experience"
Cons: "During the same trip I discovered 2 different arrangements of the Business Class cabin on Singapore Airlines A350, SQ469 CMB-SIN, and SQ036 SIN-LAX. On the SQ469, I occupied seat 12 A (mono, aisle-window): A lot of plastic curved walls etc. For larger persons, the result is not quit comfortable."
Pros: "the crew is fine. The seat was OK standard."
Cons: "Food was not good on my way back to L.A. Food was no flavor, pork cut up way too big, prefer having small piece of meat soaked up flavor sauce."
Pros: "They passed by me when they served the meals because they thought I had it already which it was someone behind me who got his meal since he had a special meal request. So I ended up to talk to them that I haven’t had my meal yet. It was embarrassing moment for me. They seemed thinking that I lied to them."
Cons: "They are well trained crews so I have no better ideas about improvements"
Cons: "In flight food service by cabin crew was spotty, sometimes they gave you coffee with dinner , sometime not, they are very forgetful. Please improve on this issue."

Cons: "Confusion at check in on baggage constrains. Conflict between what the agent told us and what was documented on our ticket contract. Plane very cold Unable to recline seats for much of the flight under guidance of flight attendants. Unable to sleep as a result."

Cons: "5 crying babies on a red eye. Don’t know if that can be prevented."

So here's the rub - my flight was booked through Chatdeal even though I bought it under the Kayak umbrella. All the return flights were theoretically through Air New Zealand, however except for the initial leg from New Zealand, they were all partnered flights. So when I arrived at the airport in New Zealand they could only issue me my ticket to Fiji. Once in Fiji I had to do some serious leg work and finagling to get my ticket to Los Angeles through Fiji Air. This included a monitored covid RAT that I wasn't aware I needed to do. So I gave the score I did because of the complexity and annoyance created in the process of getting a boarding pass for my Nadi-LA flight.
Boarding instructions on one leg of my journey were not well communicated at the gate (Melbourne to Auckland)

Pros: "Great crew and counter staffing. Only took about 10 minutes to get my ticket and half of that was due to some snag with the NZ visa details."
Cons: "Had to cancel trip because a passenger was hit by a car one week before the trip. Refused a refund by the airline."
Pros: "I cannot say enough good things especially about the Air New Zealand staff on this flight, they were truly amazing, went above and beyond to help me and others. They were personable & caring! The seat was comfortable and the dinner was the best tasting airline food I have eaten in years. Happy!"

Taking atleast 15 minutes to be cleared just 1. 1h 45 minutes to finish everything. Wuhan haha next time free flight i will not bother. Ohh 1 more thing. They use the Communist system in the international airport"

Cons: "Baggage didn't come to HCMC on time. CS changed the schedule so the time was too tight to transit which caused lost baggages and unhappy experience."

Cons: "Service can be very erratic. On both long-haul CSA flights I took, attendants spoke poor English, which was surprising given the route. This is a perfectly OK airline for the price. You get what you pay for, in a way. But if anything drifts from the original plan, you're screwed. On Thurs Jan 4 we were diverted to Chicago due to bad weather. CSA has ZERO ground presence at Ohare. They gave us poorly-worded, vague instructions while still on board the aircraft for how to proceed once we disembarked-- and then their crew went off to hotels and rested, while most of the passengers stood stranded and confused in the airport terminal with NO assistance whatsoever. We were NEVER formally told when to reboard, or when our flight might take off again for JFK. We were NEVER told what kind of arrangements would be available for passengers to rest and recover-- and we landed around midnight, mind you. Passengers shared info with one another that they gleaned from 3rd party websites-- we all helped each other out, because CSA was useless. I recognize that it was an unusual situation due to extreme weather but it was indicative of the kind of customer service one can expect. Which is, not much."
Pros: "The flight and crew itself was fine, the problem was with China Southern once you got off the plane."
Cons: "This is a big airport for transit passengers. Even if you had a boarding pass for your connecting flight, you needed to get in line to get another one. That took an hour and a half. If you needed a transit visa because of a long layover (China Southern offers accommodation) you needed to go through a second procedure which was arbitrary and chaotic and took hours. I got my transit visa in 2 1/ 2 hours (4 hours after getting off plane). In another hour I was at the very nice hotel provided. China Southern staff had assured me I didn't need to get to the airport particularly early, but the hotel staff required I leave 3 1/2 hours before my flight. With a 15 hour layover I was able to get 3 hours sleep. I saw people who had been in the transit visa area for up to 7 hours. Nothing else about these flights mattered at that point."
