Scores according to KAYAK customer reviews
Pros: "The crew was very pleasant."
Cons: "The flight was delayed for some reason (they kept changing) and I am really fed up with United allowing people to bring two pieces of cabin luggage onto small aircraft."
Pros: "Seat was roomier. Food was good."
Pros: "The effort of the crew to do as much as they could. Even at basic econ fare. Profits dictate. People are crammed as much as possible. We felt like folding chairs. But what can be done?"
Cons: "See above"
Cons: "To actually be on it would’ve been awesome"
Pros: "Food was actually quite decent"
Cons: "In-seat entertainment systems malfunctioned for roughly half the flight, which was quite disappointing"
Cons: "The unplanned layover in HNL was very poorly handled."
Cons: "I flew the first leg of my trip with ANA and the next leg with United and I certainly noticed a difference in terms of customer service. They are less friendly and seemed to have spent more time with a couple of passengers who appeared they know personally than the rest of the passengers."
Cons: "Watched a handicap elderly lady put in the middle of economy and a young small healthy male bumped to first class. crew not prioritizing the elderly. With 16" of isle space an eastern crew member tried to push a airline wheelchair down the crowded isle. Treating paying passengers as llivestock"
Pros: "Crew were great, especially considering we had a couple of mishaps travelling with a five year old and five month old. Despite being a mega long flight it was comfortable and we were well looked after."
Cons: "Seats are a little narrow on the exit rows and bulkhead as the armrests accommodate the TV and tables. This also means they can’t be moved. Not unique to Air NZ though."
Cons: "Air conditioning, I wanted an option for heat."
Cons: "I hated that the flight was about 90 minutes LATE which made me almost miss my next flight (had I not jogged an entire airport, I would have)"
Pros: "I got super lucky and had three seats to myself, it's a long flight just over 12hrs and good sleep is precious. The entertainment options were excellent and I watched some great first run movies. Food was quite good with options, beverage service standard. Restrooms were readily accessible and "clean.""
Cons: "We left SFO an hour late waiting for a handful of late passengers - good for them though, eh? The rest of the passengers on plane were packed in like sardines. Seemed to me that too much space on plane dedicated to the premium 'cabins' for the uber rich, but they were interesting to look at."
Pros: "On time. Overall everything went well."
Cons: "No food and no entertainment for a 4 hours flight. With the high price ticket I bought, I think that’s really unfair."
Cons: "Check in clerk was mean nasty and said several times we could not fly because we didn’t have our tickets rather then helping us use the airport printer to print our tickets she said you can’t print you ticket until you show me your ticket. She should be fired it was united airlines won’t fly them again"
Pros: "See above"
Cons: "See above"
Pros: "Everything except the entertainment."
Cons: "TV monitors are too small and grainy. Would have also liked music to listen too if can't watch the tiny screen."
Pros: "Corteus smiling faces and on time"
Pros: "The staff was friendly and professional . Announcements were spoken clearly. It was a nice flight to be on. You could tell everyone was doing a good job."
Cons: "Nothing everything was good."
Pros: "The flight crew was attentive and polite."
Cons: "Though not the fault of the crew or airlines, we were delayed almost 90 minutes because a parent took their toddler into the lavatory while at the gate and they messed it up and plugged the toilet with paper towels and/or pampers. This was after I had a 8-1/2 hour flight from Copenhagen, Denmark. Also, the seat space and amenities are so inferior to international flights. The narrowness of the seat and closeness of the rows makes it hard to be comfortable. After being treated to two meals on the international flight, one small two-inch bag of snack mix is almost pointless."
Cons: "I missed my flight home and still in Houston, united sucks!!"
Pros: "The seats, the flight condition, the customer service, boarding experience"
Cons: "Did not offer free personal device entertainment."
Pros: "Horrible smell in the cabin, lavatory out of service"
Cons: "Horrible smell in the cabin, lavatory out of service"
Pros: "Quick flight and free checked bag."
Cons: "People took a long time getting off the plane in front of us."
Pros: "Crew worked hard and were terrific."
Pros: "First time but I like it"
Cons: "Good experience"
Cons: "air travel is basically like driving your own car cross country now except you cant stop and get great food.. tou have to bring your own comfort for economy travelers and to qualify dor upgrade you have to fly more than 4 times a yr its sad"
Pros: "It got to me to Atlanta fine. But going back to Newark was a nightmare."
Cons: "When I checked in at Newark, I upgraded my seat from 22 B to 7B for $55. I also paid $25 for my small piece of luggage. I was told there may be a lot of suitcases and it was better to check it. When on the plane, a stewardess came up to me and asked to see my boarding pass (which was scanned when I got onto the plane.) I gave it to her and she never returned it to me. I get an EMAIL while in Atlanta, saying my seat on the flight was canceled because I was a NO SHOW on the 27th to go down to Atlanta. I had the receipt of my seat upgrade, my receipt for the checked luggage, and the tag on the luggage. I called United who said I wasn't on the plane. After a long conversation, she said she fixed it. I get to the Atlanta airport on 10/31, and I was not in the system. I had to get a supervisor and they said my seat was gone and I may not be able to get back to NJ that day. After the agent called United Headquarters, they finally got me on the plane. I was told once again I should check my luggage and shelled out another $25. I then get to the gate, and the agent at the gate was asking for 10-20 people to check their luggage for FREE. That was it for me. I will not fly United again, and have already requested that my Executive Admin's not use United and use other airlines when they book business trips because I would hate for anyone to have to go through what I did. I am 44, have been flying since I was 5, and have never had anything like this happen and don't want it to happen to anyone else I know. I was disgusted by the whole situation."
Cons: "No beverage or snack."
Cons: "Everything else"
Pros: "The stroopwafels are amazing."
Pros: "I scanned my boarding pass with my cellphone."
Cons: "The flight attendants weren't friendly. They were rude. They NEVER shared their expectations for good passengers. Instead they just wasted a lot of time correcting passengers' bad behaviors. Got half a cup of juice with lots of ice. Thirsty all the time. I never could go and use the restroom."
Cons: "Delayed flight"
Cons: "Will never fly United again if I can help it. Friday afternoon out of CLT was cancelled and rescheduled for Sat afternoon, we had a Friday night wedding and had to get to Chicago. Agents were completely unhelpful over the phone, went to the airport agents at ticketing counter were also unhelpful and threw up their hands like there was nothing they could do to help us. Finally had to switch to Delta and got to Chicago at 1AM EST, missed the wedding."
Pros: "Comfortable and on time other than rain delays"
Cons: "Missed connecting flight and had difficulty getting help to reschedule b missed flight due to retouting to Austin"
Pros: "Use of my phone for boarding ticket"
Cons: "Sitting next to a large man who took 25% of my seat and space."
Pros: "Pilot was communicative, and seemed as frustrated as us"
Cons: "On the ground crew couldn't handle getting the plane into the gate. We were directed to three different options, leading to at least an hour delay once on the ground and difficult connections."
Pros: "Okay crew."
Cons: "Cramped, uncomfortable seating. Departure time and gate changes."
Pros: "Crew was nice"
Cons: "Seated at the back of the plane directly across from the bathroom. It was horrible the entire time. Never want to experience that again."
Pros: "All went well. Pleasant attendants."
Cons: "The flight was delayed 3 times!"
Pros: "She was very understanding to my 37 minute layover in Denver and upgraded me to seat row 11 from seat row 31 to make sure I could get off the plane quicker. Very much appreciated and why I always fly United with my MilagePlus card. I had been on vacation for a week and had to be at work the next day."
Cons: "Flight attendants were very unpleasant, when they were handing out the little snacks bags the guy threw mine into my seat instead of handing them over to me. Also the plane was filthy and there were dirty Q-tips in the seat back pocket in front of me that I had to look at the whole time"
Pros: "The flight was quick -- just over 30 minutes in the air."
Cons: "This was, by far, the scariest flight I've been on. Whether it was the prop plane or other factors, the turbulence was unreal. I've taking prop plane flights before, but none had my knuckles (or other passengers') as white as this one."
Pros: "The price"
Cons: "I was unable to board because I didn't see the boarding time. This should be available even if it is just an estimated time. This way if I am running late I know what time I have to be there."
Pros: "The flight left and arrived on time."
Cons: "The flight attendants in charge of the back area of the plane (an older blonde lady with short hair, and a brunette lady with glasses) were so rude and blatantly disrespectful to passengers for no reason at all. The seats were extremely uncomfortable and the remote to my television screen was broken so I spent three hours with bright flashing lights in my face playing the same scenes over and over again. United airlines should be embarrassed."
Pros: "Flight price."
Cons: "The service, accommodations, cleanliness, organization from the airline (multiple delays and two gate changes), comfort of seats, & entertainment options were all undesirable. I tend to only fly United when I have no other options. This experience was exactly what I expected from the airline. However, I was traveling with my mother this trip and wish I would've spent the money to fly a different airline."
