A tiny sauna was great for relaxing after walking through the snow.

Cons: The fact that the fire alarm went off at three o’clock In the morning, but having said that we were also glad the fire slam worked. It was a false alarm, always good news but quite scary and unnerving to say the least.

Cons: This hotel needs a makeover. I was at the 18th floor, i didnt like my room at all, i paid for an exta large bed but got a queen bed! The lights werent good at all, they were warm yellow, most of facilities were very old for a four stars hotel, The bed was confortable but small for two, as it was queen not king size bed. At the check in the person did not find my reservation even if i showed her the confirmation email... If i'm back to ottawa i will not choose this hotel at all.

Cons: When we arrived, there was no power in the hotel. Of course this is not their fault, but we weren't even informed by the concierge when checking in, it was the teenage doorman who told us that there was no power. Not a great first impression. When they checked us in, they sent us to an occupied room which was absolutely mortifying. The next morning we woke up and noticed that there was a blood stain on the top sheet.. that was not from my partner or I. We immediately called and asked for the sheets to be changed, and informed them we were heading out for the rest of the day. When we returned back to the hotel hours later, the sheets had not been changed. Totally disgusting. The next morning my partner decided to stay in Ottawa one extra day, and wanted to stay in the room an extra night (it was close to everything and his stuff was already there). When we went downstairs to pay the extra charge, they took an ADDITIONAL deposit. Totally ridiculous as they still had a deposit from the first two nights. Definitely would not stay here again! The location was great but there were far too many issues.

Cons: The sum of all the reviews I read were a better reflection of the experience than I expected. The hotel was overall good. It provided everything I could have expected for the price and location. Nothing exceptional from the hospitality side of the overnight team, bit a true sense of hospitality rang loud and clear from any and every interaction of the day time staff and management, from email correspondence with management, to front desk, to staff I passed in the hallway. Great location! Not in a room with an opportune view, but such a prime location to government and financial buildings, sightseeing, shopping, and dining.

Cons: One factor was the bathroom. There was a slight mouldy odor around the toilet. Also when taking a shower the water coming from the tap was hot but when the shower was turned it the water fluctuated from hot to very cold. Not a pleasant way to shower.

Cons: Awful check in experience! Upon check in we were asked to guarantee the room and we suggested that we pay it directly by credit card then give 100 Cad deposit by cash which was refused by the front office manager who was so rude. I did explain to her that if she blocks a certain amount of money my bank refund it back with less money due to the currency exchange and that I prefer paying the whole room then giving a cash deposit so I get it normally upon check out. She treated us with misbehavior and suggested if we weren’t happy we can leave the hotel and she will be happy to cancel the request. This FOM is lacking of empathy and understanding guest needs or request which make us feel that we are in a public administration. It is just inappropriate to treat guests like that specially when insisting on paying and want to just to rest which is why people check in at hotels. Last but not least, she managed to let us in “exceptionally” by accepting to receive the 100cad deposit plus full payment of the room in credit card but this experience ruined our stay at this hotel.
