mixed feeling
easy to book hotel room
high price for outdated room, staff could be friendlier, ugly view from our window
Great Location
The Novotel was close to the Parliment Hill, Byward Market and Shopping.
The road construction made access to the hotel difficult. The traffic noise was also very loud on the third floor on a Saturday night.
room had an odour
Location was great.
When we arrived the room had an odour. The staff came and sprayed with air freshener. We were not offered another room. Later in our stay when we turned on the air conditioner in the corner of the unit on the smell of dog and urine wafted out. When I asked if pets had been housed in the room I was told pets were allowed in all the rooms. If you do not want a room used for pets this is not your choice
Location was amazing! Staff very friendly, room clean and comfortable.
Great lobby restaurant. Different twist on flavour with friendly staff
The hotel restaurant was excellent.
The view from the room was depressing. The first one they offered looked upon a parking lot, the next one, which was the only other possibility, upon a construction site filled with debris. The reception desk personnel did not speak French. The bar decoration was not at all like the one posted on Kayak.
It was okay..
I expected it to look a bit newer than it was.
Nice but expensive parking and breakfast
Cleanliness, staff, location was fine since I like to walk. The pool was nice.
Parking price was not listed. Cost $23/day! No mention of that in the add. Also breakfast was a straight $19/person. Too much!
Pillows were terrible. Ice machine did not work. Booked a hotel with a pool and it was not available to be used.
Functional and great location, especially for the
Close to convention center, shopping & Byswater (Bayswater?) restaurant area. Not far from Chateau Laurier or Capital Hill. Clean rooms. Friendly staff at front desk. Cool/funky little restaurant/cafe area on the first floor, which filled up at night. Common areas bright and nicely decorated, with lots of computers for general use. Room was small but functional and clean. Gym was a little disappointing, but had treadmills eliptical and some weight machines. It was fine for a short stay, but not much more. Nearby construction makes for some unattractive views, but it's not noisy or bothersome otherwise. Overall, I was happy with my selection for the price I paid.
Good location for conferences - walking distance from convention center and shopping. Clean room and excellent staff.
Room was directly above the garbage dumpsters, so very early every morning was rudely woken up by garbage trucks slamming dumpsters. I wouldn't normally mention this, but I specifically asked for a room in a quiet area. The dining option has a very limited menu and has a high cost compared to other options for the area.
