He moved our room to one that had a spectacular view. Thank you Norman. We met friends there for dinner on Wed evening and we all had the fish and chips and raved about them - so delicious. Room services were excellent with keeping our supplies filled and room cleaned. Location was perfect for our needs - we could walk to almost everything we wanted to see.

Cons: Sitting area was too small and furniture we thought a little on the cheap side, not very comfortable. There was not much in the way of drawers. Bathroom was very nice but there was no space to store toiletries and with two women you have a lot of stuff.

Cons: The power went out in the bathroom and we texted the number given to us on arrival and never got a response. We had to go downstairs to the front desk to get help. Also you need a blue tooth printer. I tried 3 times and 3 visits to the front desk to print a certificate I needed for the wedding I was attending. I sent it to the reception email 3 times( in front of the reception desk and they never received it. Obviously the fellow was sorry and thought it had to do with ‘security’ but I was really disappointed.

Cons: Got switched to a double queen room when we had booked a king and the room just felt too squished. We were on the 3rd floor facing Dalhousie street, and staying there on the weekend it was quite noisy at night and the streets were extremely busy with the nightlife in the area so parking and even getting or being dropped off by an uber was a bit of a hastle. I found check-in / car situation confusing and check out busy and rushed.

Cons: Although friendly enough, the staff were far too relaxed and processes seemed rather loose. We were charged on our credit card twice - an error on their part that they showed very little responsibility for and also little concern - will wait and see if this error is corrected!! Doubling up charges on a credit card is unacceptable and should have been rectified immediately. Also the rooftop bar and the lobby bar was way overpriced- best to go elsewhere for a drink and a feed!

Cons: However, the hotel was quite full and the parking filled up before I arrived. After a long drive from Toronto to Ottawa with my 5 year old, I had to haul up our gear then get back in the car to park the car a couple of blocks away in an outdoor lot associated with the hotel. It’s fine. It is what it is. But I paid the same price as the hotel parking (about $24/night) with barely an apology for the inconvenience. This hotel is not cheap. I was disappointed.

Cleaning staff wasn't friendly and were more worried about not being blamed for the mess in the bathroom. There was no fridge to put our leftover wedding cake, when we used the mini bar fridge we were immediately charged even thou we didn't consume anything. The coffee machine was old and barely functional. Calling the front desk felt like I was contacting a credit card call center, was put on hold a few times. Just never felt a 5-star treatment while we stayed. Even the front door man wasn't there too open the door when I brought in my bags. All the little things that made this experience below average.

Pool is a small two lane lap pool only, with no hot tub, sauna etc. Bottled water in the room was not complimentary. Bathroom had old standard sized tub, not enough towels where provided. The list kind of goes on and on. This hotel would be fine if you where paying a lower rate, but at the cost it is it just feels like a rip off and money grab.

We were there for 5 nights and I would prefer to unpack suitcases and get them out of the way, but there is not a dresser of any kind so we had open suitcases to work around all week. We also had to ask for a small old coffee maker. I cannot have cafein and it was sometimes hard to get some decaf. Glad I had taken some herbal tea with me.

Les Suites is the go to place for the festival because it is the best location! We arrived from a flight that left Louisiana at 6:00am and arrived in Ottawa at 5;30 that day. we were told our room was not ready to go to concierge. After travelling all day and we are both senior we were ready for our room. at 7:30 that evening after asking to speak to a manager a receptionist finally took it on herself to find us a room. I do not know if I would take a chance and stay at Marriott on Kent or even suggested to friends. I hope this can be brought up at your receptionists meeting,

Cons: The room was quite small and dark with a view into an office so there was very little natural light coming into the room. The lighting was very low, even with all the lights one and one of the bulbs needed replaced. The walls were very thin and we could hear the people in the next room chatting - so guessing they could hear us!! The hotel itself is tired and needs a freshen up. The photos on the website must have been taken when it was newly opened.

Cons: Honestly speaking almost everything. Again for the price no breakfast offered, I felt very uncomfortable the whole time in the room knowing there was a door to my neighbour that if they wanted to could open because it was only secured by a deadbolt. Door knobs that lock don't cost that much, really would suggest the investment. I ended up moving the table in front of the door because of this so I could feel more comfortable.

Yes, it's tiny, but the bed was actually really comfortable, everything was super clean, the towels were provided & you were not disturbed by other people coming & going on the contrary to regular bunk bed rooms. Additionally the hostel is located in the very centre of the city, which leaves you in the perfect spot for discovering Ottawa during the day. Plus the fact of staying in an actual jail, it felt like a super interesting experience & I'd absolutely suggest it to my friends!! What impressed me the most, was the attention given to details, with names of actual prisoners attributed to the cells, explanations of their crimes & the timings of sentences, as well as tons of really interesting informational boards on the walls in the hallways. It would be great if the jail tour could maybe be done either multiple times per day or earlier in the morning. I would've loved to attend it, but it taking place at 11am, that kind of cuts your day in half.

Luckily I was with my family that some of us could go to the reception and got the key. Not recommended for 1 people goes with car to stay in this hotel .

Pros: Location, location, location ! The hotel was overall good. It provided everything I could have expected for the price and location. Nothing exceptional from the hospitality side of the overnight team, bit a true sense of hospitality rang loud and clear from any and every interaction of the day time staff and management, from email correspondence with management, to front desk, to staff I passed in the hallway.

It provided everything I could have expected for the price and location. Nothing exceptional from the hospitality side of the overnight team, bit a true sense of hospitality rang loud and clear from any and every interaction of the day time staff and management, from email correspondence with management, to front desk, to staff I passed in the hallway. Great location! Not in a room with an opportune view, but such a prime location to government and financial buildings, sightseeing, shopping, and dining.

Pros: The location of the property is very good and all attractions and restaurants are just a stone’s throw away. Parking is also very convenient and the valet parking is a great help.
Cons: The property is some what dated especially the corridors to the rooms and dark and dingy. The room was a good size but the bathroom was too cramped, the door wouldn’t shut and had no extractor. Also the balcony door wasn’t secure enough and the balcony wasn’t partitioned off from other rooms so didn’t give a sense of security.

Cons: The WiFi is dreadful. It dropped the signal or refused to connect at all, repeatedly, at any hour of the day or evening. I tried to post a few photos on Facebook and had to go down to the lobby to connect to their meeting room system to do so. I downgraded the facilities score because it’s just not acceptable in a business hotel. The hallway needs treatment to muffle the echoes of other people conversing. We could hear the elevator bell ring from around the corner. Outside noise was no problem. We passed by reception, where the clerk was trying to talk a party into quieting down, in response to someone’s complaint. Happily, we were not on that floor.

There were a couple of good supermarkets very close, if you needed anything. We only found fast food places to eat close by, but as the market area isn't that far, 10 minute walk, with lots of places to eat it was fine. Would recommend.
