Pros: We stayed for New Year and I genuinely could not have made a better decision than for us to attend the gala. It was the loveliest even either of us has ever attended. We bought a floor length dress and a three piece suit and tie for the occasion and were not disappointed. We even had to send my dress last minute to the cleaners to be steam pressed and the staff got it back on time for us to attend the gala without rushing. After champagne and chatting at first, we all made our way to our assigned large round table. We sat with 4 other couples from all over the world. The dinner and dessert were lavish and the conversation was thrilling. The service was incredible. After we ate we followed our new friends to the lounge for swing jazz, dancing, a champagne toast and a wonderful send off to the new year. I truly had the time of my life. The next day we woke up exhausted and a bit hungover so we stayed in. A bubble bath in the beautiful clawfoot tub, a hot cup of peppermint tea, room service meals and a Law and Order marathon was just what the doctor ordered. We cannot say enough good things about Hayfield. Our sincerest thanks to Claire and the rest of the staff for making New Year 2020 the best of our lives so far.

Pros: The rooms were beautiful, clean, and spacious. We arrived early, got a room quickly, and even were upgraded to a suite just like that. The staff treated us like queens and kings, making us feel like part of their family. Everyone was cheerful and helpful during our stay, and the bartenders were eager to talk about local places to see and shop at. A highlight indeed for our Ireland trip.

Cons: The hotel is hard to find. Even the GPS struggled to get us there. Old world atmosphere, with some unusual and welcome additions; a bottle of whisky at the reception desk to parch the thirst and ease the frustration of locating the place. Another fun touch, a putter and play practice green in the room. It is a nice place but would I stay there again? probably not.
It's the little things that matter in a hotel and the dinning reception left us cold.
We made dinner reservations and showed up on time, appropriately dressed, only to be kept waiting while others streamed by, were welcomed, and seated. Eventually,We were placed in a back room at what must have been the worst table in the place, center stage, traffic area in a room surrounded by cozy booths. The Food and service excellent, but the second rate treatment left a bad taste.
So we move on, to a better experience somewhere else.

Cons: I didn't mind this actually but the Kingsley is about a 15-20 minute walk to the city center. You could take a cab or walk it. The reason i didn't mind was because it was far enough away that you weren't surrounded by the noise.

Pros: Staff were fantastic. Our cleaner Catherine was wonderful - does a great job, very cheerful and accommodating - make sure you hold onto her. Location was perfect - we walked Cork city every day. Parking was a bit of a bore (behind locked gates at nearby church) but we were glad to have it all the same. Hotel and accommodation was fantastic - very comfortable bed, big airy room, loved the farm animal prints on corridors.

Cons: In the main house, the WiFi signal is pretty terrible and you have to stay next to the door to use it at all. In the second property across the road, there is no WiFi whatsoever. I'd say it's pretty unacceptable not to provide proper WiFi in 2020. If you have heavy luggage, you're going to have to carry it up the stairs.

Pros: Hotel was outstanding. We were visiting family in co.cork and we’re uneasy enough about our trip due to recent Covid19 epidemic worldwide. Service and guidance from staff was very comforting during a distressing health crisis in Ireland. The property was so central, car park was such good value, room was clean and comfortable. Out second night was cancelled and refunded due to closure of the hotel. The morning before we left we were treated so well and kitchen staff made sure that we were well fed before our journey back to Mayo. Thanks to all for their help!

Pros: Hotel was outstanding. We were visiting family in co.cork and we’re uneasy enough about our trip due to recent Covid19 epidemic worldwide. Service and guidance from staff was very comforting during a distressing health crisis in Ireland. The property was so central, car park was such good value, room was clean and comfortable. Out second night was cancelled and refunded due to closure of the hotel. The morning before we left we were treated so well and kitchen staff made sure that we were well fed before our journey back to Mayo. Thanks to all for their help!

Cons: The price point on this hotel given the standard of accomodation was a little bit on the expensive side for the location etc. Car parking was also an issue. The small amount of parking at the property was supplemented by a nearby public carpark and a favourable rate therein however this was a bit of a walk away which made it incovenient as we have a large family and meant the car had to be collected and then brought to the hotel to collect the family. This added about 15/20 minutes to getting out in the morning.

Cons: The elevator is tiny and very slow. We also had a horrible sleep the second night with guests banging down our door. A group of women screaming down the hall at midnight and banging on our door and laughing to come in for a party, to then have to listen to what sounded like a mad session in the room down from us. This went on till 3:40am to then a man came and banged our door down trying to get into our room! Endless doors opening an banging shut for hours !

Cons: I felt the price was fairly much for a non-ensuite twin room in a hostel. Our trip consisted of 3 other cities and we stayed in one guest house where two nights were the same price and a single night here, and in a hotel where a single night was cheaper than this hostel. Seems Cork is a pricey place! We arrived to breakfast 15 min before the breakfast time was finishing, and were done grabbing tea/toast by the time the breakfast time was over. However we were fairly rudely ushered out of the kitchen by the staff who began cleaning and emptied the whole kitchen and dining area on the dot. Not sure how giving everyone 5 minutes to finish their food would've affected the overall cleaning process.

Pros: My friend and I made a booking some weeks after other 2 friends made a booking here. When I made my cooking, I requested to be in the same room, what they did with no extra charge.
Cons: The hostel seems to be getting renewed , what is good for future people coming. When I went couple of weeks ago, reception and common area looks to be on the middle of getting fully built, what didn't really bother me as it means they will get better and nicer.

Pros: Good customer service. Nice room temperature. Good warm/water pressure. Bunk beds not quite comfy but well equipped with plugs and spotlight.
Cons: A bit smelly (in corridors). Some people looked like living there for months.

Pros: Big kitchen, place is huge, personnel is very friendly. Beds are warm and comfy. Showers are clean and big with heaters. Open 24/7 which is great and 300m from center of the town.
Cons: Pans are in very bad shape. Only a few are usable. You'd better buy one for a long stay.

Pros: The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. We booked our stay last-minute and they did their best to accommodate us and got us a cheaper rate than what we had booked. Each person that we talked to at reception gave us helpful tips for our trip and made some great recommendations!
Beds were comfortable enough.
We had a room with an ensuite, though we didn't know it was an ensuite until we were leaving...oops. We just never thought to look. The bathrooms attached to the rooms are much nicer than the public bathrooms.
Continental breakfast is offered in the mornings. I believe it was 3 or 5 euros each.

Cons: Room super small. No fridge inside. No lift in the building. The price is too high for no facilities at all. 110 euro for 1 night for 2 people with no breakfast is ridiculous.

Cons: The 3 nights I stayed in the hotel, each night me and my boyfriend had went back to the hotel at night- about 11pm/12am-ish, we were left standing on the street banging on the front door and windows for the night porter to let us in. The first night we were waiting 10 minutes out on the street, we had been at a wedding all day long and I had no jacket and it was raining while we waited for him to let us in. Each of the 3 nights he had us waiting for a little while at the front door and each night he answered with little to no apology and was smirking. The only reason I did not rate the hotel poorer was for the blonde haired lady at the reception desk during the day time as she made the visit enjoyable as we enjoyed chats with her each day before heading off.
