Our meal on the first evening was a bit slow in being delivered. Without any prompting, we were given an apology and offered some drinks. We were all impressed with how it was handled Thank you very much for the excellent customer service on Friday 29th November 2025

A beautiful grand hotel with a lovely breakfast, no valet. The room had a strong persistent smell of mold and I couldn’t sleep as I’m allergic to mold so requested to be moved. A lesser room in a newer wing was available the next morning and we packed up our belongings and were moved by cleaning staff whilst away for the day. Pros (+) Beautiful 4-5 stars! Comfort and extremely roomy.
Cons (-) No fault of theirs but to walk from train it’s best to be part mountain goat. Hotel is on a big hill ( and I mean big) overlooking town. We taxied the luggage up the hill with as many passengers as would fit and the rest of us hiked up the road. Very steep!

Pros (+) Restaurant was very good. Walking distance from some shops and eaterys. Bed was comfortable.
Cons (-) No air conditioning. The lift was being worked on so we had to take the stairs with several bags.
