Pros: The rooms were beautiful, clean, and spacious. We arrived early, got a room quickly, and even were upgraded to a suite just like that. The staff treated us like queens and kings, making us feel like part of their family. Everyone was cheerful and helpful during our stay, and the bartenders were eager to talk about local places to see and shop at. A highlight indeed for our Ireland trip.

Cons: The hotel is hard to find. Even the GPS struggled to get us there. Old world atmosphere, with some unusual and welcome additions; a bottle of whisky at the reception desk to parch the thirst and ease the frustration of locating the place. Another fun touch, a putter and play practice green in the room. It is a nice place but would I stay there again? probably not.
It's the little things that matter in a hotel and the dinning reception left us cold.
We made dinner reservations and showed up on time, appropriately dressed, only to be kept waiting while others streamed by, were welcomed, and seated. Eventually,We were placed in a back room at what must have been the worst table in the place, center stage, traffic area in a room surrounded by cozy booths. The Food and service excellent, but the second rate treatment left a bad taste.
So we move on, to a better experience somewhere else.

Pros: From the moment you arrive at the beautiful Montenotte you feel like you’re at home. All the staff are incredible, they all are committed to you having an amazing stay. The girls at the front desk gave awesome recommendations on restaurants, cocktail bars and anything else we asked. I ran into some problems with the train timing and when I phoned the hotel the staff offered to drive my luggage to the airport to ensure I didn’t miss my flight. There was literally nothing they wouldn’t do to ensure your stay is exceptional. The front desk team is amazing words cannot describe my gratitude to all of them for making our trip so spectacular. The cameo is so wonderful- a great way to relax and have a night in. The restaurant food is Delicious, the ambience is stunning The entire decor of the hotel is fun and colourful, yet welcoming and relaxing. I would stay here over and over again this hotel and its staff are a true gem! Thank you all for everything

Cons: The service in the dining room and on the terrace was very poor. I sat with my finished dinner plate in front of me for over 15 minutes, I had to ask a member of staff to remove it, it was the same at breakfast. It seemed that once good was served you were forgotten about. I expected staff to be vigilant and ask if I wanted more drinks etc.

Cons: No AC on the bedrooms in a 4-star hotel. This is an odd choice to say the least. You can make do with the window and a small fan in the room, but in warmer days the hotel gets really hot and sleeping becomes tricky.

Cons: The location wasn’t quite as close to the city center as I hoped, but still within walking distance. The area is quite hilly. The parking lot was fairly slanted which was a scary driving a stick shift rental car. Apparently automatic cars are very rare in Ireland.

Cons: A bit difficult to find actual entrance to Hotel, as a totally different Restaurant on Street side. Also, a bit difficult to wheel heavy bags over so many cobbles. But they were authentic and attractive! Perhaps a small flat path through them to Entrance would be helpful. Not a major problem.

Pros: The hotel is quite central to town, about 15 minutes walk. We were given a warm welcome and our room was in the 'new' part of the hotel (it's two building joined together). The hotel is well cared for and looks recently decorated. The restaurant is good and the bar has a wide range of spirits. Breakfast is very good and worth the money. Staff are by and large, friendly and helpful. There is parking outside the hotel and guests can use the health club.

Pros: Beautiful 4-5 stars! Comfort and extremely roomy.
Cons: No fault of theirs but to walk from train it’s best to be part mountain goat. Hotel is on a big hill ( and I mean big) overlooking town. We taxied the luggage up the hill with as many passengers as would fit and the rest of us hiked up the road. Very steep!

Pros: The foods was gorgeous and there was plenty of it. We were in Cork working on a project so didn't get to spend much time in the hotel itself or the surrounding area but for what we did see and the facilities that we used, we certainly were impressed.

No running cold water - all water was warm/hot Noise from weddings in the hotel so couldn't sleep - emailed manager to complain after check out as advised by reception. One week later - not even an acknowledgement of the email.

Cons: We asked for a walk in shower as opposed to a tub/shower. We were given a handicapped room. The worst part, was that the room was on the ground floor, our view was a wall and the hotels main electrical box was outside our windows. It was load all night long :(

Cons: I arrived , there was nowhere to park my car , I was told the hotel was fully booked out...….so I parked in front of a gate . Check in was pleasant , and I trotted off to find my room , only to find people in the room , embarrassing , back to reception again ,where I sat at the bar waiting for a room.

Pros: The hotel is quite central to town, about 15 minutes walk. We were given a warm welcome and our room was in the 'new' part of the hotel (it's two building joined together). The hotel is well cared for and looks recently decorated. The restaurant is good and the bar has a wide range of spirits. Breakfast is very good and worth the money. Staff are by and large, friendly and helpful. There is parking outside the hotel and guests can use the health club.
Cons: There was a long walk to our room and it faced on to the street. It would have been good to have been told that the windows had a film to obscure people looking into the room.

Cons: I got a sheet of paper on the history of the hotel, unfortunately the bedding, pillows and beds were also historical. It was a bit of a nightmare to find parking. The selection for breakfast was subpar. I needed to alter my booking, but since I booked via booking.com, the hotel would not change it. So I just left after the 1st night (as i booked 3). I don't think I could have handled another night in that bed.

Cons: Some of the paintwork was a bit scratched on the bedroom door, and carpet in places was a tiny bit tired - however, didn't bother me at all. the hill down to town might trouble some people - it's steep, and the car park was small, but there was on street parking available close by at no cost. The food was good and well presented, but as with most hotels in Cork, there was only one non-meat option and I would have struggled if I was vegan.

We couldn't even call reception once no one was there They say you need to use a swimming cap in the pool so then we both when we got in the pool area people were swimming without hat.
