Pros: We liked everything about this hotel. Good lighting, good natural light, very nice breakfast with plenty of choices, comfortable bed, great shower, large balcony and very clean. The friendly, knowledgeable staff helped us plan our time there and did everything to make our stay perfect. When corresponding with the hotel before we arrived I always got a quick and friendly reply. We would stay here again.

I requested a bottle of water which was not included in the breakfast and I was charged twice the price I paid during the afternoon when I bought another one without saying I was staying at the hotel. There was too much noise coming from the street. The windows do not isolate very well so I would request a higher floor to partially mitigate.

Cons: Upon arrival, we found out that our room was on the ground floor, and we didn't like it very much (low privacy), so we asked for an upgrade and got another one on the 3rd floor, much better. Also, they have a Jacuzzi on the terrace, but since the city was cold (oscillated from 6 to 17 during our stay), they didn't clean it up, and you couldn't use it even if you wanted. Overall the feeling was that they were in a low-budget for maintenance, and some little details like the Jacuzzi and the refillable bottles were set as low priority (not sure if this is the standard procedure for them, but we had to take the bottles to the reception ourselves and ask for the refill). However, I think it's understandable due to the crisis they're in, and that didn't spoil my time at all. Thank you Vain :)

Cons: The so-called 'Junior Room with Balcony' does not have a balcony but a ledge holding the air con unit which has a dingy outlook over derelict buildings (no chairs or table). When we complained they blamed the marketing of Booking.Com! Having asked for a proper balcony the hotel said it would cost around $100 to upgrade for 3 nights. Hadn't we seen the pictures and looked at the measurements they said. The manager was inflexible and unhelpful. we downgraded to a non balcony room and were refunded a mere $11 ( less than $4 a night).

Cons: We were robbed at gunpoint right next to the hotel and the hotel staff treated us absolutely terrible. They weren't compassionate or empathetic. They didn't offer any apologies as the attack happened right by their hotel. They acted as if they were annoyed that were afraid and wanted to leave their hotel early. This was the worse thing to happen to my sister and I and the horrible customer service on top of everything made the experience even more traumatic!!

Pros: From the moment we arrived we were looked after, welcoming attentive staff, interesting character architecture, fresh air on adjoining roof terrace, safe area to walk around to many cafes and bars, cool vibe. Cons: It would be nice to have strong wifi in the bedrooms as well as just common areas. Generally, the WiFi worked well mainly in the reception area only. Don’t bother with their ‘breakfast’. It’s just coffee/orange juice and a croissant. Many of the bedrooms in this hotel are off an open-air corridor, so it’s rather cold during the winter time.

Cons: A little bit far from the town you might take taxi or bus. The rooms don’t have an ensuite. So there are share bathrooms outside of the room. You have to walk through an open area.

Cons: Unfortunatly some unpleasant stuff happened. I guess it's not their fault, but my towel (the one i brought with me) along with my legging pants went missing. They couldn't do anything about that, because probably another guest took them, but at least they gave me a towel for free. One mor thing, I spent the whole trip being bitten by bugs. I don't know it they were bed bugs, but I talked to the reception, they said they would check my bed, but I didn't get any feedback. I know it's common in hostels and mostly not their fault. but I expected more attention to these matters.

Cons: The bathrooms were dingy and squashed and there was this manky towel to dry your hands which looked like it had never been washed. The coffee was awful (tasted of chemicals) and breakfast should have been free. It was weirdly quite an unsociable hostel. Maybe more can be done to encourage socialising.

Cons: One of my dormitory mate was incredibly dirty (farting without shame on the morning) and disrespectfull (coming around 4am without any care for the noise he made)... I would have been in another room but except that it was perfect!
