Scores according to KAYAK customer reviews
Pros: "The crew was good. The problem was our Qantas flight from Auckland New Zealand, to Sydney, Australia, to San Francisco, to Seattle didn't sync with Alaska Air. We arrived in San Francisco after a very long flight. We had gotten our boarding passes in Auckland. When we went to board in SF, there was a glitch and they wouldn't let us board. It took a long time to get that fixed. We missed our flight (with our luggage on it), and had to wait several more hours. Plus Alaska Air had cancelled a flight mid morning and the trickle down result was many people were stuck and waiting on flights. Then we had to wait for a crew to come, then they found something wrong with the plane so had to get in a new plane. It was a long and hard day for everyone."
Cons: "I don't know how you sync airline tickets but if they had synced as they were supposed to, none of this would have happened."
Pros: "The pilot went around to passengers and apologized foe delay."
Cons: "3 plus hours of delay????"
Pros: "The seats were good and we boarded quickly"
Cons: "No entertainment or snacks"
Pros: "Seats were very comfortable and they provided free movies with a seat console for a 2-hour flight. Great!"
Cons: "the new saver fare option sucks, it makes travel more stressful and very undignified"
Pros: "amazing service and comfort"
Pros: "entertainment app is good"
Cons: "1. drink service is so slow, right before the arrival 2. bad smell, like oil and gas in the plane"
Cons: "Bigger leg room for tall peole 6 feet up..."
Pros: "Free movies"
Cons: "Dirty cabin, dirty glass, worn out carpet, seats falling apart, filthy privacy crew drapes. The CEO needs to be more hands on and do random inspections."
Pros: "Smooth ride"
Cons: "Left a little late so our flight was a bit late landing in return"
Pros: "The in-flight entertainment was great."
Cons: "Not sure how much control the pilot has over turbulence but it’s pretty rocky and his landing was terrible. my flight attendant I cannot remember her name , Was an older lady with red hair she was very rude did not care for her very much."
Pros: "Quick onboarding process."
Cons: "We waited on the tarmac for 15 minutes before the captain notified everyone that we had to turn around because a generator went offline and thus required additional fuel and paperwork. I feel this kind of issue was preventable with proper inspection and oversight. Although i appreciate the protocols for safety, i believe this measure could have been prevented."
Pros: "Check in was easy. I love the way you can order from the screen infront of your seat food and drinks. In addition; you can select movies. Everyone was very nice and professional. I usually fly with jetBlue, but today I was so impressed I am considering changing."
Cons: "If there was a less than one star that is what they deserve. SFO flight was late. They gave away my seat on my connection to Kalispell. They basically blamed me for being late and not being there on time. Two others from my flight were allowed to make the connection but told me that they gave my seat away because I was late. We all showed up at the same time from the late flight. I talked to 3 people including customer service and did not get a single “I’m Sorry”. Do they not communicate with each other when a flight is late and they have passengers for connections running late? They told me they don’t talk. The best they can do is put me standby for 9:30 flight and if I cannot get on that flight I have to wait until morning. My daughter is in a competition tomorrow morning and thanks to Alaska Airlines I’m going to miss it. I’m sitting here writing this review, paying for a dinner I should not be paying for and probably searching out a hotel room until morning when I can catch a flight. Unbelievable the lack of empathy."
Pros: "Arriving at destination"
Cons: "The flight was delayed 90 minutes and there was very little communication regarding why. It would have been less frustrating if we knew the reason for the delay."
Pros: "I love that it was still a Virgin plane - please keep them as long as you can!"
Cons: "Happy with everything!"
Cons: "-1 boarded & left late -1 has to deplane away from concourse, walk through cold rain to get there"
Pros: "Alaska is great as always and try to fly with them when traveling!"
Pros: "Terminal 2 in SF is great...whole vibe plus food and seating options are top top...SeaTac needs to up their game feels makes it feels like a food court at a subpar mall."
Cons: "Wish there was in seat inflight entertainment like Virgin America."
Pros: "not too much"
Cons: "We made it to the gate with a good 10 minutes before take off. They did not call our names on the overhead because we were nearby the gate. But when we approached them at the gate counter, I heard the radio saying that our flight was pushing back. WTF?? Luckily they were able to get us on the next flight an hour later. But still, not impressed."
Cons: "Alaska/virign’s boarding process is pretty dumb. all these different levels of people, which for a regional airline is usually 75% of the load, then, the rest. Good luck on overhead space. Literally everything else about this airline is 100% awesome. Boarding is the only lame thing."
Cons: "I checked in to the flight 24 hours ahead to ensure I got an aisle seat, because I knew I’d probably be going back and forth from the bathroom because I had been feeling ill. When I got to the ticket check to board the flight, my name wasn’t found in the system, and I was turned away to go back to the front desk. So I did, and the person there was seemingly able to get me an aisle seat in the same row, just across from where I originally was. But, when I got to the row, another man was in that spot and showed me his ticket which was the same seat I’d seemingly been re-assigned! The middle seat was empty, and so I sat there for the time being, while we enquired about it. One of the flight attendants said they’d look into it, but just seemed to brush it off and never gave us a response. I was mainly annoyed about being shuffled around, getting reassigned a spot and was clear about wanting an aisle seat, and it never happened even though I chose that seat 24 hours ahead in the first place. I felt there were a few chances to make it right, but it never happened."
Cons: "Didn’t know how to use kiosk & was turned away from line cause I didn’t have bag tags Even after I explained my autism disorder"
Cons: "I was rerouted at the last minute to another airport. Late taking off. No food on board. They were sold out on another flight."
Pros: "The staff is wonderfully patient."
Cons: "Gate changes, delays, presence of plane but lack of crew, food vouchers 15 minutes before venue closed. Uncomfortable seats."
Cons: "Terminal situation at SFO is horrible. Delayed flight, no announcements shuttle to board plane, no heiarchy for passenger boarding. Was a few-for-all."
Cons: "The landing at SFO was very hard and a couple of was made very scared startled sounds!!!!"
Pros: "Missed my flight at it was rescheduled for $25 without asking a questions"
Pros: "Allowed to go on an earlier flight"
Cons: "All Alaskan flights were delayed an the terminal area was way over crowded. Also they were boarding two planes at the same time at the same gate."
Pros: "The crew was friendly. They tried to be funny"
Cons: "Didn't offer us any compensation, even if it were just some snacks or something. I guess the budget is that tight"
Pros: "The staff was friendly, a nice experience"
Cons: "We arrived early and had to wait on the plane for 5 to 10 minutes and it got hotter and hotter. I wonder if there's anyway they could have told the ground crew that we would be early so that we did not have to wait"
Pros: "Real tray tables! A magazine! Power jacks!"
Cons: "Waiting for a gate agent so they could open the door in Seattle."
Pros: "on time"
Cons: "preferred a friendlier cabin staff, lousy in flight magazine, rushed service, good for airline cost wise, but will choose another carrier when flying to the Evergreen state ... Yes i will pay more for more, when flying we have a choices, you will NOT be mine $"
Cons: "Waiting in front of the gate for one and a half our after the initial boarding time in uncertainty. If the flight is delayed please tell us in advance, not let us hover around the boarding gate waiting and waiting."
Pros: "The cabin was miserably hot"
Pros: "Nothing. I didn't take flight due to punishing re book procedure that Alaska employs to basically steal money from it's customers."
Cons: "They weight the value of 1st leg much higher than the return AND they want to charge you $125 change fee. My grandma passed away and I needed to reschedule my itinerary. Alaska stuck to their policies (you know, those pages of microscopic text that is written by lawyers for sole reason of screwing the customer.) I just felt really abused; told them to keep the useless "credit". I booked with Delta. At what point does a company forget who they are supposed to be serving? Perhaps the people that are actually giving you money and keeping you in business?"
Cons: "I went to the Intl terminal and asked a Virgin employee where to go and they told me to go to domestic. The Virgin employee at domestic told me to go back to Intl, and the Alaska employee told me I should have arrived earlier. I was upset that they were not helpful but I understand this was also my fault for not realizing I was on an Alaska flight in the beginning."
Pros: "Alaska airline staff very friendly"
Cons: "4 out of the 4 flights were delayed"
Pros: "After flight was cancelled, I called Alaska Customer Service and within 10 minutes, I was confirmed on the 6pm flight to Seattle. Alaska agents were calm and helpful."
Cons: "Flight was delayed with little to no information as to reason for cancellation. A gurney was seen taken down the gangway once the flight appeared. The flight was then cancelled. Passengers scrambled to get on next flight. Meal vouchers were promised but never handed out."
Cons: "My baggage were missing while tranfering from settle to seoul and i made several calls to alaska airline and asiana airline but nobody couldnt track my baggage. Eventually, my baggage arrived 1day after very evening time around 12:00am It feels like i shouldnt book any reservation through Kayak.com i believed booking platform. Unluckly, this happend. Feel bad"
Pros: "Play more Christmas carol during Christmas season"
Pros: "Once we were in the air it was fine. But lots of problems before - see following."
Cons: "This flight was very confusing and flow of information was poorly managed. I got an email about 3 hours before takeoff that the flight was cancelled, then another that it was reinstated. Then when I called to speak to an agent I was told it moved from one airport to another in a nearby area. There was a free shuttle from the original airport but I elected to take a taxi since it would be quicker and there wasn't much notice. So I made it to the new airport on time but those who came via shuttle took ages, delaying the rest of the passengers. Taxis should have been guaranteed covered for everyone so that we could have departed on time, which impacted on everyone's day. And the flow of information could be much more accurate and streamlined in the run up to departure instead of constantly being changed. It was very confusing."
Pros: "Gina at Seattle Customer Service managed to get my on a flight back to my original Oregon location when it became evident that they couldn't get me to San Francisco as booked and I missed my appointments there."
Cons: "I never made it to San Francisco. After starting in Eugene they sent me to Seattle instead of Portland where I was way-laid for 5 and 1/2 hours Alaska posted a crew based delay on my flight to PDX and booked me on a flight an hour later to Seattle where I was going to have a 3 hour layover. The connecting flight was then delayed another 2 and 1/2 hours. I missed both my appointments in San Francisco and never made it to SFO. Also, they never sent me an SMS or email alert to the changes. The agent also had me wait at the wrong gate in Eugene. And they couldn't get me on any other flights to my original destination. I will reschedule my appointments in San Francisco and I will definitely be taking American Airlines or United Airlines."
Pros: "Nice friendly crew:)"
Cons: "Still haven't taken off! Late happens but it still isn't fun."
Pros: "All of the crew at the gates and at the airports were WONDERFUL! Very patient and accommodating. They dealt with some very frustrated passengers very well."
Cons: "This was the first time that i had to change AIRPORTS for my initial flight. This caused a HUGE delay in the initial flight. This was NOT communicated well to the passengers..... ALASKA AIRLINES could have done MUCH better with the communication of that delay and everything involved!!"
Cons: "We waited 2.5 hours at SFO for passengers but our they wouldn't wait 30 mins for the people on mine."
Pros: "Flights were on time Seattle to Spokane, blonde stewardess very funny during safety presentation, made you pay attention- this was on Seattle to Spokane leg."
Cons: "No food,no entrtainment., no music"
Cons: "no complains"
"The seat back entertainment screen didn’t work at my seat. Staff was great."
"Airport experience is exhausting. Extremely long lines for check-in and then even longer lines at TSA. Hand sanitizer stations are almost all empty and in the mens room, people are crowding together to get soap from one dispenser that has just a bit left... flight was no better than Southwest Airlines, and it took over an hour for the bags to start coming out. Delta bag claim attendant just said, "I don't know what's going on with them, just wait a bit longer"."
"As with the outbound flight, this return flight was not full - maybe 40-50%. As they started boarding they announced they located a few people the help with 'load a balance' of the aircraft. What they had done was to compress all passengers in the middle of the plane leaving no space between anyone. It is difficult to understand why everyone is required to wear Masks, then relocated to remove all space between passengers, when there was ample room to allow everyone to be seated with space between."
"As a silver medallion I don’t know how to request upgrade and when I call delta I have been on hold 3 times for over 2 hours each and can’t reach anyone."
Pros: "Crew was amazing. Very attentive and welcoming."
Cons: "No baggage space in overheads. Despite being in an early boarding group"
Cons: "Had unknown jump grade to much better seats No explanation given Too bad it wasn’t on a 6 hour flight"
Cons: "It was the last row, could not sleep on it"
Pros: "The crew members were nice and didn't bother while sleep when giving out snacks & drinks (I've had this done to me before, annoying). Plane was comfortable because it wasn't packed, so was able to have a seat empty in-between me. The entertainment offered was really good, the connecting to the Go-inflight WiFi was a bit difficult, but no biggie."
Cons: "THE DELTA TERMINAL AT HARTSFIELD AIRPORT, ATLANTA, IS DIS-ORGANIZED!!!! THERE WAS NO ONE GIVING PROPER INSTRUCTIONS FOR DROPPING BAGS OFF, PEOPLE WERE EVERYWHERE IN EVERY KIND OF MADE LINE!!! ALMOST 30 - 40 MINUTES OF WASTED TIME, THIS AND THE SLOWEST TSA PROCESS CAUSED MANY TO PROBABLY MISS THEIR FLIGHTS, INCLUDING ME (THANKFULLY MY FLIGHT WOUND UP BEING 3HS DELAYED - THAT'S NEXT). DELTA SHOULD INFORM TRAVELERS ABOUT TIMES WITH THEIR BAG DROP AND TSA!!! 3HRS TO GET A SMALL PART THAT ONLY TAKES 2 MINUTES TO FIX, I'M VERY GRATEFUL IT WAS FOUND WHILE ON THE GROUND, BUT AFTER 1 AND HALS HOURS COULDN'T WE HAVE JUST CHANGED PLANES!?!?! I WAS SUPPOSED TO BE HOME AFTER 10A, WASN'T UNTIL ALMOST 2P.."
Pros: "everything was just as comforting as it was pre-pandemic"
Pros: "Being upgraded was a GREAT surprise !"
Pros: "We landed safely"
Cons: "Out of everyone’s control Mother Nature"
Cons: "I waited for over 40 minutes for someone to answer my call button. And then they just turned it off without asking me or anyone in my row if we needed something."
Pros: "Quick flight with basic service."
Pros: "The crew was great and very friendly."
Pros: "The little food packets were cool and convenient."
Pros: "We've always enjoyed flying Delta and this trip had been just as nice as the previous ones we have taken through this airline."
Cons: "Our stewardess/stewards seem to be incredibly cranky on this trip and very unapproachable. They must have been having an "off" day I guess."
Cons: "Loved it!"
Pros: "Cleanliness. Safety. Friendly."
Cons: "Delightful experience except at SFO checkin."
Pros: "Covid safety protocols and people following was excellent."
Cons: "Serve alcohol :)"
Cons: "This plane was not appropriate for social distancing, I would not have booked this flight if I knew we wouldn’t be able to keep a distance from other people."
Pros: "Crew was solid."
Cons: "Don’t change my seat. Not on time. No food. Luggage with legally checked firearm sent to the wrong airport."
Pros: "Pilots. Flight attendants. Space. Left and arrived on time."
Cons: "Nothing that I can think of at the moment"
Cons: "The mask mandate needs to be voluntary ADA violation"
Cons: "It was actually quite good, Delta is by far the airline to use compared with the other airlines."
Pros: "Crew was great, comfort+ definitely has more leg room."
Cons: "Beer not guaranteed on flight for Delta comfort plus."
Cons: "The flight was delayed by 3 hours because of storms in Atlanta earlier. This caused us to miss our connection to Fairbanks in Seattle, so we had to spend the night in Seattle at our own cost."
Pros: "Crew great....moved passengers around near us for Covid related separation."
Cons: "Cramped.....too many seats in too small of a plane....I'm 6ft / 190 lbs"
Cons: "Zero PPE or social distancing by crew"
Cons: "connecting flight left without 1/6th of its passengers. Stuck at airport now because of Deltas laziness"
Pros: "Decent entertainment options and snack offerings."
Cons: "Last 6-8 rows were vacant and for some reason Someone was still seated directly next to me. Why on earth the flight attendants (otherwise great) didn’t make an announcement that there was no need to share a row and encourage people to spread out is beyond me. I mean this is the only flight I can remember in a decade that wasn’t nearly or fully booked, you’d think they’d emphasize that. Instead I got to be trapped like it was a full flight next to a guy with no concept of personal space."
Cons: "Flight into Seattle delayed, flight out of Seattle to Minneapolis delayed flights out of Minneapolis to Bismarck delayed. Ran from gate F to gate c24 arrived at 10:23 p.m. Slight to the park at 10:25 p.m. and they closed the door on me as I was running up there. Ran across the entire terminal to get there and they would not let me on. Last Flight of the night to Bismarck. Missed my uncle's 90th birthday party. Would not give me food voucher. Delta gate agent told me she would lose her job if she did not close the doors 8 minutes prior. However the Minneapolis flight waited for 15 minutes for people to board that plane. How does that compute? Why would they not wait 3 minutes for me rather than pay the money to put me up in a hotel?"
Pros: "Smooth, efficient and timely."
Cons: "Seats weren’t assigned until at the gate even though checked in 18 hours before. Bag drop was horrible. No self service. Was inline for about 45 minutes."
Pros: "delayed, switched to another flight, delayed 3 times...crossed the border at 1am...terrible experience overall"
Pros: "Good choice of movies but not all have subtitles, which comes in handy since phones are not really good. Food was great!"
Cons: "Seating pitch is just not acceptable for 10+ hrs long flight! I am tall (1.92 cm) but there are taller people than me and there is just no way they can sit in economy class seat! That is basically some kind of racism.."
Cons: "Connection at Schiphol often tricky;"
Pros: "Check in person was very helpful in rerouting our flight."
Cons: "Our flight was delayed 3-1/2 hours. The gate crew booked us in another flight but did not issue a ticket, so after transferring to another terminal, we were sent back to the Delta terminal to be issued a ticket to a third airline since we already missed the second flight. Then, they lost our luggage"
Cons: "My monitor isn’t really working after rebooted. And the audio hole wasn’t tight enough"
Pros: "free movies on the flight"
Cons: "The check-in process at SFO airport was poorly managed."
Pros: "Quick boarding process"
Cons: "Wifi stopped working halfway"
Pros: "The nice staff and entertainment options."
Cons: "I usually fly delta and have a great experience - unfortunately my flight from Detroit to Seattle was not. To start off, i was flying with two other people and we were not able to get seats together, and the whole seating process with delta is really difficult even when I had called weeks in advance to see if they could try and seat us together. I understand with main cabin tickets you can only choose your seat as you check in, but it would be nice to be able to request seating with a person/group you are flying with. I was placed in the very back row of a busy flight, and noticed that the horrible smell from the bathrooms which made it unpleasant. As said above, I normally have a pleasant experience.. but being a delta sky member I feel as though i do not really receive any differences as to a non-member. I hope this review helps for the next customers! Thank you."
Pros: "Had the whole Comfort section to myself!"
Pros: "I like Delta but this crew had such a shi**y attitude it was contagious. Yikes!"
Cons: "The gate staff and the flight staff. Rude"
Pros: "We boarded quickly, in zones. Staff were professional and courteous."
Cons: "Perhaps more than just 2 episodes of some TV programs eg Goldrush. Also more current shows."
Pros: "The t.v. 's at each seat"
Cons: "One lavatory didn't work and we had to use the nathroom for first class..couldnt access bathroom half of the flight"
Pros: "Getting to the correct destination."
Cons: "The fact that the lack of knowledge regarding international travel visas by the counter staff and supervisor meant that two days of the vacation were lost. Upon arrival in China the 144 hour travel visa was granted with no problem within minutes, but the U.S. staff was completely befuddled by the possibility. The interrogation was completely stressful and resulted in a reschedule of the original flight and during the second attempt at flying even an email from the U.S. consulate with a link to the Shanghai/Chinese government immigration site was deemed "not official enough". i will be expecting proper compensation. I was once given an $850 travel voucher for voluntarily giving up my seat, and was flown first class to Hawaii, given 4 star accomodation and then flown first class on to China within 48 hours. This was an involuntary bump from our chosen flight time, all because of a lack of knowledge about current visa regulations and international law on the part of the check in staff. We have been loyal Delta users for over 15 years, and this was the biggest blunder ever. Also humiliating and extremely frustrating, stressful and a big problem with fulfilling our travel plans between son and father."
Pros: "On time flight"
Cons: "Gate agent at SF was rude and unprofessional. While waiting, gate agent at gate 65, flight 647 started the following, “group 1 boarding, group 2 boarding...everybody, let’s go let’s go”. She went on to call out one, Hispanic customer with limited English, “come here, you can board now”, rude rude."
Pros: "Love the ability to watch films on my device by way of United WiFi"
Cons: "Better snacks"
Pros: "Better staff"
Cons: "Still terrible"
Pros: "united is united"
Pros: "Good boarding"
Cons: "Delay and no food or movies"
Cons: "In Osaka I was not able to get a boarding pass for this last leg. In SF United and Air China were both not able to give me a boarding pass because I was not listed in their system. I have no idea why. Very frustrating."
Cons: "Second mechanical delay for me on this trip with United and the plane felt very old and rickity. Extremely delayed into Seattle until 2:40am"
Pros: "Again we had more leg room than on most flights. Attendants were nice. They held this flight for us because our previous flight was delayed, we ran in and they closed the door. Thank you United! We only had one day visiting our son and his wife near Seattle, if we had missed that flight, I don't know when we would have gotten in. We would have lost our day."
Pros: "Staff was very good at their job/duties."
Cons: "Seats were uncomfortable and cramped."
Pros: "Boarding quickly"
Pros: "Every day they take more away from us....the paying customer. ALL major carriers are becoming LCC ( low cost carriers ). Are there no real domestic airlines left. I REALLY miss Continental."
Cons: "I used to enjoy flying. Now I dtead it. There is NOTHING to look forward to. These days you get to pick lhe lesser of all evils. Is there an airline out there that REALLY wants me as a customer???"
Cons: "Captain was 1 hour late, then wasn't prepared with a gate when we arrived in Seattle. I got home 3+ hours later than I expected, and I have a short vacation time."
Pros: "Very smooth fligh and very friendly and helpful staff"
Cons: "The seats were extremely crammed and there were no movies or shows without purchase"
Pros: "It was a short flight"
Cons: "I didn’t like not having to choose our seat assignments after we booked our flight. I have used Kayak on many occasions and I was able to choose my seat after booking. I was not able to do that after I booked my flight."
Pros: "On time"
Pros: "United Airlines is a poor excuse for travel options. Definitely two or three levels below European owned airlines. We are fine with Alaska Airlines, but the rest of American own airline companies take a back seat."
Cons: "Nothing about this flight was enjoyable."
Cons: "Flight delayed by almost 2 hrs"
Pros: "I arrived safely."
Cons: "It's a zoo. It's a DIY of checking in and checking your bags in. No staff is around to help. You are on your own. Unorganized."
Cons: "Late late late. Had to run to get my connection. Not Uniteds fault though. SFO too busy. Will avoid in future."
Pros: "The employees"
Cons: "The delay of 3 hours."
Cons: "No wifi... with the amount you pay for the flight, seems insane you have to pay for wifi too"
Cons: "Plane change resulted in middle seat in far back instead of aisle originally."
Cons: "I was very I'll and could not complete this flight. Was told by airline to call Kayak for changing date of flight for $50 vs $200 they would charge. Ticket was less than $200. I called Kayak. They said sorry it will cost you $200 per airline policy. Either way, this is unacceptable to me. I will stick with Southwest who let's you change flights on all fares if you use it within one year. So since change fee was more than ticket I just ate the cost. Not happy with UNITED or KAYAK. Won't use either one again."
Pros: "Crew was new but okay."
Cons: "Flight was delayed by an hour or so. Then had a last minute gate change across the airport from my original gate."
Pros: "At 6' tall I'm not exactly TALL, SLIGHTLY above average yet as hard as I pressed back into the seat I wasn't able to squeeze Even a milimeter of leg room. I spent 2+hrs in moderate pain with no options. The seat sold to me WASN'T big enough for a person talker than 5'10". I felt ripped off. At age 41 I've NEVER had a flight with less leg room. Ever, not on a commuter flight or anything. It was a very painful experience. I had to ice my knee caps afterwards."
Cons: "ZERO LEG ROOM AT ALL. PAINFUL to say the least."
Pros: "Cheap fare"
Cons: "Staff was rude and it was some what ok"
Pros: "The morning cookie was good."
Cons: "It was dirty."
Pros: "No charging docks on plane as military duffle bag open with clothing hanging out on arrival ~ not sure if anything stolen but the threat is very real and it's unacceptable for military bags to be delivered in that manner"
Pros: "We were delayed due to some maintenance issues, but the crew did a great job of keeping us updated on what was happening. Other than that, a normal flight."
Pros: "Our flight was delayed 6 hours due to faulty equipment. So they treated us very very very well."
Cons: "We were delayed 6 hours."
Pros: "All fights.. On time made it home safely Friendly crew both ways.."
Cons: "Entertainment should be easier to access.. And Free!!"
Pros: "The crew was friendly"
Cons: "Having to pay for dieect TV when on other flights there are movies & TV options for free. The seats were very small. I'm an average ish size 14 and was very uncomfortable on this plane, especially sitting in the last row."
Cons: "One of the crew members at the gate! I believe her name was Jackie or jaciquiene at SF was the most inconsecrate women I have ever met! She was yelling at me to put my bag in the bag to see if it will fit. She was completely rude and acted like she hated her job! I will NEVER fly with UNITED again! I will be contacting United regarding this issue as well! The other lady at the gate called her led and after that she contacted her supervisor and they also didn't let me on the flight! This was the worst experience I have EVER had! I will NEVER FLY WITH UNITED AGAIN."
Pros: "Our names are Steve and Jan Hovde if you have any other questions about our flight concerns. We can be reached by phone at 360-332-8414. We did not call FAA, but still very much a concern. We have flown United other times and many other airlines and many Boeing 737's...we noticed other passengers looking at each other because of the clunking and growling sounds."
Cons: "most important I vowed I would try and call FAA about safety concerns with the plane. Mechanical noises prior to take off , during flight(right fan whine) - could hear it when started engines in SF., Some loud clunking at take off bringing in landing wheels and again letting down for landing in Seattle. When plane came to stop at the gate, again some noises we have never heard before on 737's. Please check out that plane more closely. Part of our concern is that Pilot mentioned before take off that they had problems with scheduled 737 and they needed extra time to locate another 737 that could be used(Why our take off was rescheduled twice and different gate)......it seemed that one that had been mothballed may have been brought out to use......We did mention some of this tactfully to stewardess' standing near exit when we got off the plane(She seemed surprised and wondered what we were talking about. We were so thankful we made it. We just figured that flight crew would be tracking these odd noises and pass along to captain if he couldn't hear."
Pros: "Flying economy isn't fabulous, but the flight was pretty standard."
Cons: "I don't normally fly United but their airport employees and airplane staff are noticably more abrasive than Alaskan. I honestly try to be pleasant to people who deal with customers all day, and it was a little disappointing that they couldn't get it together enough to be courteous."
Pros: "There's really nothing good to say, because it never happened."
Cons: "Same problems I had with the Phoenix to San Francisco leg. The flight never happened. It was cancelled and I was stuck in Phoenix another night, missing my kids. No compensation was offered. When I asked, they said, "oh, we don't do that." Yet another reason to never fly United ever again. Alaska doesn't have to be asked for compensation, they just compensate you, period."
Cons: "Showed up at airport w 2 15 yr olds traveling alone. We're told we needed to pay $150 each way. We were NOT told when tix were purchased. Accused of lying about the girls ages when we booked. Tix were booked and paid by two different parents and times. Agent relented and waived fee. At the gate we were again challenged and had to go thru it all again. No more United for us!"
Cons: "Confusions on dates from Internet. Your site usually sets its own dates without confirming."
Cons: "I nearly missed getting a cup of ice as the refreshment cart went up the isle. The attendant tried to give me a small sack of "snacks" instead. I had to repeat myself, over the back of our seats, two more times before I got my cup of ice. I said Thanks! But the look on the attendant's (male, black) face said I wasn't "welcome"."
Cons: "Should load the plane from the back rather from the front. People in the back can sort their stuff while still be able to load people into the front."
Pros: "That i finally arrived at my destination"
Cons: "The flight was immorally delayed by 1.5hrs. then by another half an hour. Then there were issues with boarding, which delayed us more. Then the plane was put in a holding pattern (just circling in the area) because there was too much traffic at Seattle. I understand there are many factors that affect flights, but the entire experience today left me feeling really down and disappointed, and unfortunately, annoyed."
Pros: "Flight crew was attentive and kind."
Cons: "We had to sit on the Tarmac for 20 minutes before taking off due to low cloud cover over Seattle."
Cons: "The delay ruined our evening and made the expense of a hotel for the night and babysitting moot because we might as well have flown the next morning. So much for seeing friends in Seattle on Thursday night. A 2 hour delay means we just get to sleep in an airport hotel for no reason."
Cons: "i did not see anywhere when checking in on line that there was a charge for checked bags or that the self checking had to be done 45 minutes prior to departure."
Pros: "While waiting in the terminal for everyone to board and the plane to be cleared you got your options of watching everything on the Direct TV headrest screens. It was interesting to see what people watched at 1am (4am my time)."
Cons: "Received another handful of snack mix, which was fine. At least I knew not to eat it this time. Once the plan took off, the headrest screens asked you to pay some ridiculous amount of money to watch them for the hour that we were on the plan. I wasn't surprised, but I never found out who killed the lady in my show. Bummer."
Cons: "Horrible overlay"
Pros: "Crew helped make the best out of out nearly 2 hour weather delayed flight."
Cons: "SFO to SEA is always prone to weather delays. Wish United would fly more from SJC."
Pros: "Nice big plane and great staff"
Cons: "45 minute delay"
"I hated that I had to pay for my seat and my carryon, then probably could have gotten away without having to buy it because it’s not like they checked. The crew was unprofessional, pulled down their face mask every time they talked, and didn’t enforce people wearing their mask appropriately (obviously with their own behavior). The seats were wildly uncomfortable without the option to recline at all. Yeah, I’ll absolutely never fly frontier again."
Cons: "Really sad in time of Covid19 they sell minimal seats but then put everyone! who did not purchase a seat in the back of the plane, 6 across with ABSOLUTELY NO regard for social distancing, despite the fact the plane was only 1/3 full. The staff gave some BS excuse that weight needed to be distributed to the back of the plane...BS! I was a single person in a middle seat, seated between 2 strangers, one coughing. No wonder our kids' generation believes big business needs to be brought down!"
Pros: "Masks required. Temp check required."
Cons: "No social distancing"
Cons: "frontier sucks horrible"
Pros: "Procedures to check for COVID."
Cons: "It’s a pandemic and the plane was full. I thought the middle seats were not sold but full flight!"
Pros: "Quick boarding, but I think it was just so that they we not fined by the FAA"
Cons: "My flight was delayed over FOUR HOURS! My flight was supposed to take off at 2:53 pm and we didn’t leave SFO until 6:39 pm! I received a text message at 9 am telling me that the flight was delayed until 4:05 pm....okay, no problem, I had not left for the airport yet, so no biggie. At 10:48 am, I received another text that the flight was delayed until 3:35 pm...still not a problem. A couple of minutes later, another text. My flight is now on time. Still no problem, because I usually add in 30 minutes in case Murphy of Murphy’s law shows up and throws a wrench into things. I get to the airport with plenty of time to spare & clear security... then get a new text notification at 2:08 saying that the flight is delayed for FOUR HOURS!!! Are you kidding me? On top of that, the customer service representatives made an announcement that there was a maintenance problem with the original airplane and a new one was enroute to take up the slack. They said this as a statement and offered no apologies or sorry for the inconvenience. They stayed at the check in desk for an hour, and then left and didn’t come bac until 20 minutes before the plane arrived at the gate. I will NEVER fly this airline again!"
Pros: "The price was cheap, but the cost was great."
Cons: "The very 1st words I heard out of the mouth from the very 1st frontier employee I met was "this is going to be a bad day". When they checked my bag they never said thank you, for us flying with frontier. When boarding, the "bad day" employee treated the customers as if they were cattle. Not one stewardess smile the entire flight. And when I asked to stretch after using the facilities only 1 time during the 4 hour flight, I was told (in a very sarcastic voice) "as long as you don't come into our area!" Followed by a faded whisper of "shiiiiiiit". All this, plus a 3 hour delay. What more could you ask for? Next time, I'll pay a little more for the customer service."
Cons: "Our flight was delayed 2 hours leaving San Francisco going to Orlando. My mother checked a bag which cost $35. The ticketing agent picked up her bag and slammed it down on the conveyor belt. I was so shocked at the rough handling of my mothers belongings and the fact that the agent didn't give a care. My sister and I were charged $45 each for our carry-on bags. They began boarding us but the flight crew made us wait on the walkway to the plane for 15 minutes before they let us on the plane. The flight crew was rude and disorganized. The seats did not recline, next no padding and the chair back in front had no padding at all. There were no complimentary drinks or food provided on the 5 hr flight. We were threatened by the passenger behind us twice but no assistance was given by the flight crew. We are extremely disappointed and will never fly Frontier again. We should have paid the extra money to fly Delta from TPA which would have taken 2 hours off of our drive time. We visited Frontier's website which provides nothing but excuses for why they charge extra for EVERYTHING. Overall Frontier may have some of the cheaper flights but after you're done paying for the extras you may as well fly with a carrier that provides more comfort and better service. Frontier has lost our business."
Pros: "Cheap price but you definitely pay elsewhere. Watch out for extra charges for bags, seats, and beverages. Nice staff."
Cons: "Delayed flights to and from my destination and during lay overs. When I approached staff about my connecting flight I was told I would make it. Our plane taxied into the gate my connecting flight was docked at. We waited in the plane so my connecting flight could take off. In turn I wasn't pushed to a flight 5 hours later. I left my accommodations at 6:15AM. Due to layovers and delays I will not be home until 11:15PM. Also planes required "maintenance" each time and still had no running water and jammed overhead compartments."
Pros: "The airplane was clean."
Cons: "The seats were not reclinable and for a 3.5 hour flight in which I wanted to get in some sleep I was unable to sleep. Also the seats were very narrow and with almost no padding. I could feel the padding had wore off and my back was touching with the metal of the seat. Add all that up together and instead of a regular airplane seat it was like seating on a rigid chair for 3.5 hours. Moreover, since I couldn't sleep I decided to at least get in some work, but then I realized that the tray was so tiny that it can't even fit the smallest of laptops... I know it is a low cost airline, but paying for carry ons, checked bags, selecting seats and on flight beverages is plenty for a low cost airline. Frontier doesn't need to top it off with the most new uncomfortable seats possible. At least with Ryanair the seats are more comfortable, you can bring a carry on at no cost and the flight ticket is cheaper."
Cons: "Flight from SFO to DEN was delayed. At check in i expressed concern about missing connecting DEN to PHL red eye (9min window) and was reassured that I "will make the flight." The flight arrived in Denver later than anticipated and the connecting red eye to PHL departed 5mins prior to landing. I was then placed on the next available flight- 5/29 at 6:55pm with arrival to PHL on 5/30 at 1am. No accomandations, re-routing options were given. I then attempted to file a complaint with the airline customer service number twice but both times no complaint was filed. The customer service rep promised to put me on an earlier flight to Trenton and refund my ticket. So I sat on the floor of the airport until ticketing opened at 4am where I was informed that no complaints were filed, I would not be refunded and the Trenton flight was not available. Also requests to retrieve my bag were ignored at the gate. I would have to spend the next 4 hours trying to locate it. I had to be in PHL today for work. I purchased a ticket on southwest."
Cons: "The captain of the flight was running late. We had already boarded when we found out that the captain wasn't going to make it and that they were on hold with scheduling to try and find a replacement. Half an hour later they had us de-plane. From there we waited around for another 2 hours before a replacement was able to make it. They had us board again, and then we were waiting on ground crew to come push us back from the gate for another 20 minutes. It was a disaster. We got into Seattle almost four hours later than we originally should have. The attendants were short with all of us. Granted there were quite a few people who were being nasty. I understand that it wasn't in their control. But customer service is. They all fell short."
Pros: "I really enjoyed the camaraderie i shared with my fellow passengers. Adversity really brings people together."
Cons: "Frontier as a whole, I was unaware, is a 'not good' airline. Smallest seats I've yet experienced, no recline, no legroom. If you don't want to pay $35 to check a bag, it's cool they understand, they'll happily take $40 to let you carry a bag on. Well, not happily. More begrudgingly than happily. Customer service was poor, bordering on hostile from one sky waitress in particular. It's hard to blame the airline's employees for their poor attitude, as I would be disheartened and upset if I was surrounded by a plane-full of customers vowing to 'never fly frontier again'"
Pros: "Comfortable flight"
Pros: "I got where I was going without dying. That's the only positive thing about my Frontier experience."
Cons: "What do you call flight attendants who won't look at you or acknowledge you? Is it fair to call them rude if you had no interaction with them at all in your 3.5 hour flight? Since they wouldn't look at me, there was no option to even buy overpriced food or drink from them. The guy sitting next to me had to yell to get their attention. The lady was so annoyed that he asked for water. I've never seen "service" like this in my life. Terrible service. Have to pay for carry-ons but they don't tell you that during booking. Seats don't recline. Flight attendants were frumpy and dirty looking. No entertainment options (I don't know why they ask us to rate it.) No food or drink without screaming and paying an arm and a leg. Speaking of arms and legs, there is nowhere to put yours. My knees were in the seat in front of me. The guy I was sitting next to was bigger than me but not fat at all. He was leaned against the wall and still spilling into my seat. His shoulder was against mine, his arm was on mine, and his legs were too wide to fit in front of his seat so he took up at least a quarter of my leg room. The lady on the other side had an infant in her lap and did the same, except she was hanging out into the aisle. I'm 5'8" and weigh 135 pounds. When I was boarding the plane I was one of the last people on. Coming down the aisle, I hit EVERYONE who washould unlucky enough to have an aisle seat. There was absolutely no room to walk. The miniscule tray tables won't stay up. They didn't just fall down on take off or landing. The one on the back of my seat fell down approximately every 2 minutes. The flight attendant literally yelled at the person behind me because she "wouldn't put her tray table up" for landing even though the problem was mechanical not an unwillingness to follow the rules. I've never seen anything like this. I will never fly this airline again."
Cons: "Extreme weather canceled the flight. Not the problem. No next flight without my 19 year-old daughter flying alone without having to sleep in tge airport in Denver. We did not accept this. 5 days later there was an open flight. I felt Frontier should have gone further to find another airline that could have beat the five day delay, or offered a hotel voucher for an overnight in Denver. We cancelled the trip and found another airline on our own. Getting a refund: frontier web info says refund, Frontier person on the phone said refund, but cancelation email says 90-day credit. Very inconsistent messaging and not at all in the favor of my daughter. We gave Frontier a try. Sadly disappointed."
Pros: "The flight attendant offered me trail mix as compensation for my seat mix up."
Cons: "I booked my flight then reserved and paid for my seat a few days later on Dec. 4th (a month before my flight). I chose an exit window seat because it was a red eye and I wanted to be as comfortable as possible. I received a confirmation email with my seat number. The day of my flight I checked in online and they made me choose a different seat than the one I had already chosen. I again chose a window exit seat but had to pay a difference of $4. I got on the plane looking for my seat 11A only to discover that there was no row 11. They put me in a non-exist row! They then asked me to sit in an aisle seat because that was the only one left. The flight attendant told me to go to the desk when we landed and get a seat refund. I got to the desk to meet a very unfriendly woman. I told her my situation and she told me I would have to call customer service. Never flying Frontier again! How could I possibly be assigned a seat that didn't exist?! I talked to some other people and they said the same thing happened to them."
Cons: "Seats not reclining, not very comfortable. To be told I had to Pay for my tiny bag to check instead of taking on plane. If I took it to the gate it would cost 60 to check at gate. Then to only be offered free water on the flight when I paid a lot for my one way flight. It seemed like a slap in the face to be told frontier is growing so fast and opening in new cities with 120 planes ordered, but they can't offer you a free juice and maybe some pretzels. I always liked frontier mainly because they were based out of Denver, but it feels like money is the only driving factor now. I fly a lot but doubt I'll fly frontier again."
Pros: "The crew was nice, flight on time and fine."
Cons: "I don't like the fact that you do not recycle, yet you provide goods that are just placed in landfills and will take hundreds of years to decompose. The airports recycle, is it that difficult to make that happen for Frontier? The hundreds of plastic cups, plastic bottles, cans, etc. etc. is mind blowing and is something I pay attention to. I actually took my item back to the airport instead of giving to the crew at the end so I could place the item in the recycle bin in the airport after asking your crew if there was recycling. They said there was no recycling. I also picked up a plastic bottle from another seat on the way out to help clean up since I knew you guys would throw it out anyway. Thanks for considering being more sustainable, eco-friendly, and for thinking about my comment seriously to minimize your airplane's environmental impact. I will pay attention and voice my concerns elsewhere as well - recycling shouldn't have to be done by the consumer, the businesses need to step up and make it happen."
Pros: "Ticket price"
Cons: "Everything else. Horrendous customer service. Two legs of the flight were delayed for hours (both for mechanical reasons). They had no other flights to my destination but they would not rebook through another carrier (there were nearly a dozen flights on other carriers) or refund my money. They do not recognize FAA Rule 240 (which I know they don't have to but most airlines do under these circumstances). They looked at me like I was speaking Chinese. I spend 9+ hours at the Denver airport through no fault of my own and I got to my destination at 3:00 am the following morning (instead of the originally scheduled 10:50pm -the night before - arrival time)."
Pros: "The crew was friendly. The flight was pretty much on time besides a short delay on the way to Denver."
Cons: "I didn't like showing up and being charged $40 each way for my carry-on. That made the ticket price go up to the same price as leading and preferred competitors. The food options were very minimal and there was no option for on-flight entertainment. Also, on the return flight I was seated towards the back of the plane. The back was completely packed and full and then I realized after take off that the front of the plane was nearly empty. They did a horrible job at being aware of this and they really could of increased everyone's overall comfort if they spaced us out more evenly."
Cons: "We were part of the week when Frontier had a horrendous problem with on-schedule flights. We were two hours late for a 2.5 hour flight. At the gate, attendants were very poor at communicating. Couldn't hear them on the PA. Several people asked me "do you know what zone they are currenly loading?". They board weirdly - instead of back to front. When we got on (seated near the very rear) there were people seated everywhere. Slowed down loading, which slowed down departure. (2.5 hours late) Rows too close together, absolutely no leg room. Seats are the bare minimum - wouldn't recommend a long flight. Not sure I will fly with Frontier again. Will have to pony up the dollars for a better airline."
Cons: "This deserves a negative star. Cut-rate experience in every way. Luggage took over an hour at DIA, and my bag didn't come out. I went to the luggage desk and they said to fill out a form and they'd get back within 48 hours. Extremely rude and disinterested treatment. They couldn't even check whether my bag made the flight etc?. After persisting they said to check ALL the carousels at DIA - it turned up on another carousel. Unpleasant way to begin my vacation - won't use them again. It also wasn't clear at booking that carry-ons are charged."
Cons: "Frontier made it very clear that it does not value its customers. I arrived a whopping 3.5 hours early to my flight from San Fransisco to Denver. I proceeded through security and my online boarding pass wouldn't scan. I was sent back to the check-in desk where I was met with 4 non-operating kiosks, a vacant check-in counter, and a sign saying they would re-open 2 hours later. What! I was soon joined by many many others who were sent back from security for the same reason. Some people had printout boarding passes that wouldn't scan at security! This was all on a Sunday afternoon, busy busy time for travel. Other complaints that severely impacted my travel experience: 1) Did not send me a flight reminder email or a boarding pass confirmation email. 2) At online check-in, Frontier charged me for my seat. The seat I already paid for! Frontier would not issue my boarding pass until I paid for my seat. That I already paid for. 3) Frontier charged me $30 for my carry-on. Get a clue Frontier! 4) The seats did not have headrests and the legroom was the smallest ever! I don't know how adult-sized people fly Frontier comfortably. 5) Frontier charges for snacks and drinks on the plane. Nothing is complimentary. Again, get a clue Frontier! I will never fly Frontier again."
Pros: "I actually like that you cannot lean your seat back. It's too imposing on the passenger behind you."
Cons: "They charge extra for everything. Every seat has an extra charge except for the middle seats in the very back row. Once you've paid for your seat and for your carry-on bag(!), you've paid as much as you would have flying with Alaska, American, United, etc. There was no entertainment whatsoever on a 5 hour flight (not even for purchase) and no snack provide either. I believe there was food for purchase but I didn't even look at it. Also, they do not support TSA pre-check. This would have been something the representative I called should have informed me of but instead she told me she had updated my records. So in addition to the fee gouging, their staff are either uninformed or outright dishonest."
Pros: "Crew on the plane was super nice and cared for us."
Cons: "Check in process was HORRIBLE. I initially showed my military I.D in order to check into my flight. All U.S Navy service members that are attached to a ship have a sticker on their I.D that states their ship and department. The lady that was assisting me accused me for having a fraud military I.D as the sticker ONLY hides what branch I serve in. She accused me for hiding information on my I.D as she tried taking the sticker off as I need that sticker to get on and off my ship. I was also accused for not looking like my military I.D picture. That picture was taken during boot camp as my head was completly shaved and I had no facial hair. I obviously grew out my hair and had facial hair as I was in a leave status. I was not required to shave for the duration of my leave. She also asked why I was not in uniform. The lady assisting me failed to realized that active duty members do NOT have to be in uniform every second of their waking lives. She did not believe I was in the U.S Navy and was super disrespectful. I just gave her my Illinois I.D to avoid any other trouble. I'm not a confrontational person so I just tried to avoid creating a scene in front of everyone. She was not wearing a name tag so I called frontier to make a formal complaint. I will not be flying with frontier anymore. Thank you."
Cons: "Two of my checked bags were lost. One I needed for a presentation at work. The other was needed for my backpacking gear. The bags were lost on Sunday morning. I needed both bags on Monday by 9am. I was finally told the bags would be delivered at 10am Monday and could take up to 4 hours to arrive. My presentation at work was a disaster as I only had half of the material I needed. And now it is 10am on Monday I am suppose to be heading to Tenessee with a large group of children for a backpacking trip and I'm trapped at home with no gear. This mistake is now effecting at least 10-15 families whose children I'm suppose to take into the wilderness. Bags get lost. I get that. Frontier has offered no compensation and barley an apology. I will never fly with this company again. I guess you get what you pay for. Very disappointed."
Pros: "Low fare was nice.. but the subsequent nickel-and-diming business practices left a bad taste in our mouths. No in-flight entertainment or proper meal options either. A gate change was poorly communicated, and passengers from 2-3 flights were congregating in the gate trying to decipher the poorly written message (illogical, broken English) on the display behind the agent's desk. That agent was nice enough, but she seemed very untrained and incapable of handling the situation. The boarding gate agent was even worse (see other review)."
Cons: "When asked, the boarding gate agent told us the boarding door was "closing in 1 minute" so that we would hurry up and board. We did, then while waiting in line on the jet bridge, we noticed on our boarding passes that there was another 18 minutes scheduled for boarding. This was infuriating because we wanted to stop by the grab-and-go cafe next to the gate, to pickup food for the cross-country flight (SFO>ATL), especially since Frontier does not offer proper meals onboard. We turned around and confronted the agent about this, and she admitted that she lied to us so that we would board. Lying to customers for any reason is totally unacceptable, and we won't forget this."
Cons: "I booked this flight because it seemed an unbelievable value. Well, the price was, indeed, too good to be true. Upon receiving the reminder to book, I discovered they charge not only for checked in bags but for carry-ons. Oh, and they charge more if you don't book more than 24 hours in advance. Oh, and they charge for choosing your seat (that I didn't go for). The food for purchase stinks (only bad snacks for a four hour flight), the seats are uncomfortable, it did take off and arrive on time, I'll give it that. But after adding on $120 for my checked carry-on fee, it was no bargain, I will never fly this airline again."
Pros: "I was extremely disappointed with Fronteir airlines this was my first and only experience flying with them, and though the ticket price was great, it simply was NOT worth it! There were additional costs for everything! When I attempted to get my seat assignment I was told they assign at the gate, or I could PAY an additional fee for choosing one myself. And, they charge extra for your carry on bag. And expecting to at least be offered a soda, maybe a mini bag of salted pretzels if lucky (lol), I was SHOCKED to be told 1 soda was $1,99! Additional cost for any snacks or anything other than water! The aircraft was very dirty inside the bathroom as well as on and by my seat, as though it hadn't been even wiped down in over a month! (Pretty bad!) The flight crew were all very good I must say. I asked one of them and was told that 2of them were brand new employees. It really showed! They were much friendlier and genuinely cared about customer service! Refreshing! So, overall I would have to rate it low, and highly unlikely to fly with them again.even the checking in process was a real headache! I am glad to have received this questionaire , as I had planned on actually taking the time to sit down and write a letter as well as request a full refund , or credit for a friend, family member, or myself . You do run some pretty excellent deals, and I would like to welcome the opportunity to experience Fronteir in positive light, a nothing but positive experience. Thank you very much. Sincerely, Dr.Tamra D.Lyngaas 20426 102nd Ave. S.E., Kent, Wa. 98031"
Cons: "Two of your flight crew were caring and genuine it seemed. Great attitudes and upbeat!"
Pros: "I didn't like anything about traveling with Frontier."
Cons: "Upcharge for Seats, Upcharge for Checked Bags, Upcharge for Carry Ons, Upcharge for Water. They charge you for water. That seems illegal. The flight was delayed, the gate was changed. We had to change gates which means we had to go through security twice. The staff blamed everyone and everything else (even the passengers) for all the issues and took ZERO responsibility for anything. I can't believe they are still in business with this level of customer service. The flight attendants were ghetto too. Making light of a bad situation by saying the worst things possible. Total embarasment transfer. I'll never fly Frontier again and will think twice about booking travel with Kayak."
Pros: "Co-pilot who had to explain to passengers why so many flaws occurred in this flight, she tried to be humorous."
Cons: "Flight 1884 out of SFO was doomed from the beginning starting with a notice (thanks Kayak) via email that the flight would be 1 hour late. Then, the Departure board at the airport totally dropped the flight, Then (again thru Kayak) I read that the flight would NOT board in terminal 1, Gate 21, Domestic terminal, but ar gate A3 in the International terminal. We all had to exit domestic and go to international and again through TSA. Then the flight departed another 30 minutes late finally over 2 hours LATE! Upon arrival at Phoenix the plane taxied too far away from the exit ramp-another 40 minutes before we could depart. It was an awful flight experience. Did they offer a free soda or anything for inconvenience we experienced-NOT A THING!"
Pros: "Great pilot, the plane hit some sever turbulence as we approached Denver International airport. I wasn't concerned since this was a new aircraft but if it was an older one it would have sustained structural damage. The pilot aborted the landing and flew over Denver and came in from a different direction. Everyone on the plane cheered when the pilot landed the plane safely."
Cons: "I was charged a fee to select a seat, not one with more leg room just any seat. Also, I was charged $40. for just one carry on. In addition on this new AIRBUS 320 the seats are so close together in the rows that they should issue a warning that if you are taller than 6 ft. 3 in. you won't be able to sit in the seat because your knees will be in contact with the seat in front of you. I'm 6 ft. 4 in. so luckily this was only a 2 hour flight. I also choose an aisle seat so I could put my feet in the aisle."
Cons: "Hidden expenses emerge at check in... $45 for a checked bag both ways. $100 spent that I didn't intend to pay for. As the drink cart comes down the aisle, I am again offered to pay for the water I ordered by credit card. I had payed online thinking My trip was paid and complete. With frontier, plan on having money you have no intention of paying, being asked for over and over. My return plane was delayed 4 hours due to "refueling". The trip cost at least another $100 dollars overall. Go with another airline."
Pros: "Absolutely nothing"
Cons: "Hidden fees (you pay to pick your seat! you pay for carry on!) jacked the price of this flight up $100. Would have appreciated knowing that these fees existed before booking. Customer Service was nonexistent. Absolutely NOBODY could change my ticket after 12 hours of delays made it impossible for me to make it to my connecting flight to my final destination. I tried the customer service center, the gate, calling corporate, the gate again, customer service again. NOBODY COULD DO IT! I am still in Denver and have not made it to my final destination."
Pros: "The flight was relatively short, and once we boarded we moved out pretty quickly. Bags were delivered quickly as well at the end of the flight"
Cons: "THe flight was delayed by close to two hours, but more surprising was the amount of extraunexpected money we had to spend for basics-close to $30.00 each to "pick" seats, $130.00 each for baggage (yes you have to pay for any luggage beyond one personal item like a purse), money for food, etc. There are not even basics on the lfight such as blankets, and the seats don't recline. Overall, not an airline I would choose again as the "bargain" price turns out to be full of hidden costs that weren't clearly explained upfront"
Pros: "Not much."
Cons: "The flight was delayed for over three hours. At destination (Seattle) the Link Rail system was closed and I had to pay $50 for taxi service. This was an unplanned expense. I can forgive issues with planes and reasonable delays but there was little or no concern about leaving passengers stranded at the airport. The $50 discount on a next flight with Frontier (which won't happen) is of little use. I would have appreciated some help with getting to my destination and room accommodations. Do you know how hard it is to make arrangements at 2:30am at the Seattle Airport. No food, no ride, and had to get someone to let me into my room early in the morning."
Pros: "Flight was inexpensive, and that was about the only good."
Cons: "Frontier has gone so cheap that it is hard to justify ever paying to fly with them. The seats no longer recline and have a minimal pad over a hard plastic seat shell. Not comfortable, and I'm not even a big person. Baggage fees are outrageous compared to what you get with every other airline. I was at a seminar for a week and needed more than a single duffle, so I got to pay $70 to get it there and back. I can overnight ship something for cheaper! Frontier used to be great and they have cut every last corner to make as much money as possible. It's a sad day."
Pros: "I made it alive"
Cons: "Everything else. We left late (couple hours), the attendents said looking like a 7:15 departure... No update...8:10 departure, ran out of the snack items we wanted, no wifi, uncomfortable chair, no entertainment, arrived but then sat on Tarmac, again attendent said just a few minutes but 25 later we moved to gate just to wait for the crew that wasn't there yet. Seemed really super unorganized and would have been better if they just told us straight up how long it was going to take. Cost me a whole bunch of money. I would have just flown the next day and skipped a night at a hotel, a car rental, taxis and we were so late we didn't even get to eat before bed. Absolutely the worst flight ever. Hard to believe since it is only two hours and I travel a lot! Won't be traveling Frontier again."
Cons: "Told at the checkin desk it's $35 per person to "confirm our seats" -- two in the exit row as all that remained. Why? I paid $250 per person to confirm I wanted on the aircraft. I showed up 1.5 hours early to check in. Also told at the desk it's $40 per checked bag ($45 per carry on!). So when I get to the airport I'm forced to pay $150 more, just to fly to my destination. Credit card only. The lady checking in next to me paid me cash so I'd help her pay her extra fees. Not how to treat your customers. That's what I call a scam. If all this was in the small print, I missed it, and it was tough to find, having booked through Kayak. Won't be duped again. Goodbye, Frontier."
Cons: "Both flights to & from Denver were over 30 minutes late unloading passengers. This particular flight was late on all counts.15 minutes late beginning boarding. Departed over 30 min. Late and arrival was about 40 min. Late. I do like that charging for carry on means people board /load and deplane/unload quickly. We get what we pay for and Frontier is cheap. We payfor each little add on, reserved seats, beverage, carry on, etc.Good option if cheapness is primaryfactor over comfort, convenience, or reliabledeparture and arrival schedule. Unrealistic tight scheduling means little time to clean or prepareplane between flights."
Cons: "First time flying Frontier. Great advertised rate round trip Sea to Denver $140 vs next best AK at $170. Receive email to pick seat, Suprise... They cost $9-36 each way, no mention of free seats if you just show up and go open seating. also Suprise# 2 carrying are $40 each way. I choose $18 seats and had a carry on so total trip ended up being $140 + $126 in a frontier gotcha money an increase in fare of almost double. I did find out about the seat chafe scam before checking in and asked to just go open seat.....uhh no. So how much would the Alaska Air trip have been....$170 plus $0 for assigned seat and $0 for carry on so $170. So fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me.... Their will not be a twice and I suggest Kayak add some notes to fares to avoid future bilking by Frontier."
Pros: "clean plane"
Cons: "I haven't flown Frontier in a while. I didn't realize I have to buy my seat too? What the heck is that? Sure it's only another $13 min. But here's the catch, you get a seat They've replaced the pull down table with a small flip down "table" that is about 1/3 the size of a standard table. While this does offer more legroom, it makes eating difficult and uncomfortable. I could not rest a standard square salad container on it during the flight. Luckily, I had a plastic bag from the vendor that I could put over my slacks to act as a big placemat. I didn't want to spill dressing on my pants. No WIFI onboard In short, I will be avoiding Frontier in the future. I do fly budget airlines like SW, but at least the attitude there is better. And what you get is clear."
Pros: "Pretty much nothing."
Cons: "The fact that you have to pay for a seat - any seat - and carry on, and water, for God's sake. Unreal. Rude flight crew ("take your body parts out of the aisles"), incompetent and rude boarding crew (completely ignoring boarding order, except to make one elderly Asian man leave the line - while clearly letting everyone else board in whatever order they pleased.) Horrible plane - ridiculously uncomfortable seats, no legroom at all. I am 5'10", healthy and middle-aged, and sat with my legs crunched for 4 1/2 hours, leaving me almost unable to walk after the flight. I will never ever fly Frontier again if I can help it. And I will absolutely tell everyone I can not to either. Awful experience."
Pros: "Crew was amazingly friendly both flights! The whole process seemed very nice and quick. I would DEFINITELY fly Frontier again in the US. Also, this is silly, but the tray tables are very cute. They are tiny (1/2 or 1/3 the size of a 'typical') and metal-ish; while not large, they are also not wobbly like on many other aircraft. I liked that there was no TV in front of me or controls in my seat; because usually I turn it off anyway but it still looks ugly and all the extra crevices in 'nicer' seats get filthy and disgusting. I did not feel grossed out by this aircraft, which is really cool."
Cons: "Obviously, it's really tiny and uncomfortable. I knew that going in and paid for an aisle seat, otherwise I would have been totally miserable. I would recommend doing that, and also NOT having stuff you need to put under the seat in front of you, because then you'll just squish yourself in more. I was fine and got both sleep and some writing done, but I did see others struggle."
Cons: "Your check in on line is too confusing. Too much advertising mixed in with the check in process. Your food and beverage service SUCKS. No snacks or drinks unless you pay. Prices are rediculas for a drink. One little bag of peanuts or crackers and a soda is not too much to ask. We already pay too much for the ticket and luggage fees now we have to pay for a snack and drink. This may be my last frontier flight. And when are you going to get a better boarding system so I don't have to crawl across two people to get to my seat??"
Pros: "The return Flight arrived early and the Frontier employees where all very nice."
Cons: "The most uncomfortable seating I've ever experienced. I'm not a big guy and I was squeezed in my seat. At check in I HAD to pay extra for a seat, prices ranged from $40 - $13. This was not just to upgrade but any seat, I thought I was purchasing a seat when I bought the ticket? Also if you have baggage you have to pay whether you check it or it carry-on. If I'm going to be charged to check my bag I will then have an expectation of receiving a service. Baggage on both the arrival & return took longer then on other carriers. After paying for all the hidden fees, this flight was only about $10 less than a carrier with better seating and up front pricing. I can not recommended Frontier."
Pros: "The flight attendants were nice. This is the best I can say about Frontier Airlines."
Cons: "Whoever designed the seats does not understand the human form. They were TORTUOUS to sit it. I had to take my emergency anti-nausea pill, the seats torked my body so badly. I was in so much pain after I arrived at my destination at both ends, I needed medical help. Charging extra for every little thing was insane. They didn't even give you a basic drink without drooling into your wallet. I have never been charged for a carry on bag before. Checked luggage yes, but never carry on. Both on the flight out and on the flight in, they missed the boarding gate, so we had to wait a long time while they lined it up with the airplane. A frightening lack of training here. Flying sucks. I understand that; that's the way of the system now. This went so far beyond the basic suckage of the regular flying experience, it was unbelievable. Frontier will NEVER be getting my money again. Probably the most expensive flight for the least comfort and amenities you could find."
Cons: "I had a pretty unpleasant experience with Frontier on 12/21/15. Rain in San Francisco caused flight delays. Go figure. Frontier kept us waiting for six hours then cancelled the flight. They were rude; they didn't help their customers, including families with kids, get on other airlines; said they would try to getpeople out of SFO in the next couple days! When I realized I would not get to the wedding I was trying to attend, they siad they wouldn't refund my money' When I insistedon a refund they then said there would be a $19.99 cancellation fee. Eventually, they agreed on a refund. Pretty poor way to run a business. On the other hand, when I needed to cancel my Enterprise car rental, I was able to do it in less than two minutes over the phone - no hassle."
Pros: "The crew was fine."
Cons: "It is incredibly dishonest to not include the 40$ fee to carry on any bag, and 13-20$ fee to choose a seat, bringing up a 60$ per flight leg additional cost. That means roundtrip tickets can easily be 100$ more expensive than listed, making other, more reputable airlines actually cheaper. Not to mention they do not take electronic tickets like every other airline, and when the flight was delayed, I went to have my ticket printed and no one was staffing the desk and no automated kiosks were available. I managed to flag someone down and they wanted to refuse to print me one because "my flight was listed as earlier" despite me being emailed by them that the flight was delayed. I eventually got to my destination, but I will never book a flight with them again. Let's not even mention charging for water, the plastic seats on the plane, etc. Terrible airline."
