Cons: "Had a lot of hassle adding baggage to this leg of my trip on booking. At check in i was asked to pay $130 for baggage, which was no surprise. Luckily Air New Zealand ground staff sorted it out and I did not have to pay. I will book direct with the airlines next time."

Cons: "When we arrived in Auckland very late, Air New Zealand out me up in a third rate hotel in a very bad part of the city with little to no communication on how to get back to the airport the next day. The customer service number I was given, was mo help at all. Flights were great, but the way they handled the unexpected was very poorly done."

Cons: "We were late arriving, the cabin crew although they were pleasant, didn’t do enough to allow the passengers to get off first, for the connecting flight. Malaysian airlines stayed in the runway, fixing an engine and the pilot said they were delaying the plane, driving in for passengers to disembark. After being told by cabin crew that a number of us were late for connecting flight, that they were going to wait for us, they didn’t and we were told we had missed the flight. We were kindly put on the next flight which wasn’t until five hours later. Unrealistic scheduling causes is to miss our flight and had us sitting at the airport for four hours, making it an unnecessarily long day. Not impressed."

Cons: "My flight was moved up three hours and we were not notified. Two others we were traveling with were. Some people received meals and drinks and the flight attendants had a list of which seats. Apparently we weren't entitled to any. We were not treated the same as the others next to us. It was not an option. Perhaps only Australians were entitled."
Pros: "It was operated by air New Zealand so the service was top notch once I was able to resolve all other issues boarding."
Cons: "We had a flight bought on virgin Australia and operated with air New Zealand. The air New Zealand part was all great plane boarding etc, the horrible part is that we bought baggage allowances with virgin and they never transferred the information to air New Zealand. So there I am from the USA in a foreign country boarding a flight being asked to pay 500 nz dollars for a few kilos when I had already paid for it. Having to produce emails and payment information on something I had done months in advance. Overall I won’t recommend virgin next time I’d book directly with air New Zealand"

I wasn't too bothered as I worked it out quickly but I could hear many others expressing their frustration around me . I was disappointed in the movie selection. I wanted more new release movies to choose from . Cabin crew friendly and polite . Love the wine ! Put up with being cramped .. would love more leg room but overall very happy ! Thank You everyone involved !"

Pros: "I was recovering from a cold and didn't anticipate having ear problems but during decent I began to experience some pain. It was all new to me as I had never been through this before. Fortunately the crew was kind and they provided a sinus decongestant in a cup for me to sniff and breath in so the smell could open up my nasal passages and it helped a bit."

Cons: "The seats were unbelievably tight for a flight of this duration. I'm small. We purchased the economy plus seats hoping that there would be a bit more room. There wasn't, so it was a waste of $100 each way for the two of us. We had much more leg room on our US domestic flight. Flight attendants don't appear to like their jobs very much. They were overly stern and impatient with passengers. Reminded me of the nuns in Catholic school growing up. Do they have any idea how uncomfortable the passengers are when we are packed in like sardines? Finally, the food isn't anything like they described and they served diet portions it seemed. I'm at a loss for why this airline was rated so highly"

Cons: "Even though i was booked on Air NZ, the flight was operated through Virgin Australia. This was only an issue when i tried to check in at Air NZ and was directed over to Virgin Australia. Once i found the right ticket counter to check in, i found that there was an extra baggage fee of NZ$130 that i had to pay to check my bag. Also, dinner seemed to be included for just about everyone sitting around me, and it was not included for me. I don't remember having the option of booking dinner with my flight. The agent at the Virgin Australia counter mentioned that this often happens when booking flights through the websites that are not the carrier's direct website. I have used others before, and not had these same issues... oh well - i guess that's what i get for booking through FlightNetwork.com. I'll probably go directly to airline websites in the future."
