Pros: "Fine flight - only 30 min"
Pros: "We paid $400CAD as a OneUp bid to upgrade to Skycouch. We then saw there was a skycouch row free on the plane, and I appreciated that they gave the first choice of this row to paying customers. So we ended up with two skycouch rows, one per person. Was a dream flight, could not fault them."

Cons: "Air New Zealand needs to get onto the TSA Precheck program and the agent at check-in (in the biz line) started scolding me for not meeting the economy baggage allowance (only 1 small 7kg carry on), but everything else was perfect. Best biz class flight I’ve ever had, mostly because of the cabin crew"
Pros: "flight crew are good, other general categories are average."
Cons: "Boarding in both Sydney-Auckland & Auckland-Vancouver are disorganized. No clear indication of when & where to line up. No flight delay message to explain when boarding time was long overdue. In particular, for the Auckland - Vancouver flight, one ground staff was telling economy passengers (in rather rude express) they were in the wrong line except there was never announcement. Overall, disappointed."
Cons: "economy has NO room, couldnt bend down to get anything out of my bag below the seat unless my face was in the lap of the person next to me"
Pros: "The crew was super courteous and nice."
Cons: "Nice newer aircraft and the crew goes out of their way to make you feel comfortable."
Pros: "The flight was delayed for two hours but they kept announcing the delay as though we were about to begin boarding and reason they gave for the delay was hard to believe."

Cons: "Flight was delayed and the informati N at the gate kept changing. Regular announcements that we would board in 10 Minutes. And hen we didn’t and then another announcement of 10 minutes etc Process was confusing. Four different lines with signage that was too low to be seen by anyone except those who were up front. Employees were flustered and having arguments on phone in presence of those boarding. Led to more chaos and uneasiness"
Pros: "Crew were lovely."
Cons: "Had a lot of hassle adding baggage to this leg of my trip on booking. At check in i was asked to pay $130 for baggage, which was no surprise. Luckily Air New Zealand ground staff sorted it out and I did not have to pay. I will book direct with the airlines next time."
Pros: "Excellent flight, ..."
Cons: "We were late arriving, the cabin crew although they were pleasant, didn’t do enough to allow the passengers to get off first, for the connecting flight. Malaysian airlines stayed in the runway, fixing an engine and the pilot said they were delaying the plane, driving in for passengers to disembark. After being told by cabin crew that a number of us were late for connecting flight, that they were going to wait for us, they didn’t and we were told we had missed the flight. We were kindly put on the next flight which wasn’t until five hours later. Unrealistic scheduling causes is to miss our flight and had us sitting at the airport for four hours, making it an unnecessarily long day. Not impressed."

Cons: "My flight was moved up three hours and we were not notified. Two others we were traveling with were. Some people received meals and drinks and the flight attendants had a list of which seats. Apparently we weren't entitled to any. We were not treated the same as the others next to us. It was not an option. Perhaps only Australians were entitled."
Pros: "It was operated by air New Zealand so the service was top notch once I was able to resolve all other issues boarding."
Cons: "We had a flight bought on virgin Australia and operated with air New Zealand. The air New Zealand part was all great plane boarding etc, the horrible part is that we bought baggage allowances with virgin and they never transferred the information to air New Zealand. So there I am from the USA in a foreign country boarding a flight being asked to pay 500 nz dollars for a few kilos when I had already paid for it. Having to produce emails and payment information on something I had done months in advance. Overall I won’t recommend virgin next time I’d book directly with air New Zealand"

Pros: "I liked that it got me from point a to point b. I had to pay extra to watch movies, no meal on an international flight (tbh I'm not sure what I ticketed and didn't tick while booking, but I mean it was nz to aus, come on)."
Cons: "Not getting my luggage across the ditch, paying for movies as an extra, no meal."
Pros: "The check-in process was extremely simple and easy. The staff were very friendly and happy to help. They didn't make a huge deal out of small problems, as so many seem to like doing."
Cons: "Boarding is an issue. Please have more staff in the early stages of boarding to make sure people go to the correct lines . It's not immediately obvious and leads to frustration . I wasn't too bothered as I worked it out quickly but I could hear many others expressing their frustration around me . I was disappointed in the movie selection. I wanted more new release movies to choose from . Cabin crew friendly and polite . Love the wine ! Put up with being cramped .. would love more leg room but overall very happy ! Thank You everyone involved !"
Pros: "The people and the service were top notch. I fly on numerous carriers and overall AirNZ has been my favorite, hands down, primarily because of the helpful kind friendly staff."
Cons: "Disembarking down onto the tarmac, and being made to stand out there for about 5 minutes (supposedly for safety's sake) while another plane was being pushed out from the next gate, all the while breathing in the choking nauseating jet exhaust fumes while our own plane was idling."
Pros: "Flight good. Plane modern model with good entertainment system. Flight crew good."
Cons: "Check in automated systems referring most checking to supervisors. No manual system so supervisors overwhelmed. Chambolic 2 hours."

Cons: "The hand cream and lip balm were excessively scented. I could tell when anyone in the cabin used it. The food was a little too fussy for my taste with trying to put 12 ingredients in one chicken dish."

Cons: "I was not able to pay for excess luggage online because I was told that I had to do it 48 hours in advance. I did not know I need and extra bag until the day before i left. So instead of paying the 1 dollar promotional fee advertised online i have to pay 191 dollars at the airport. That is ridiclous."

Pros: "It was okay, we made it to Sydney safe and sound, but I'd expect that anyway. We had works deluxe seats. Food was terrible service was on par with the terrible American carriers. The very first New Zealand air flight apparently set the bar too high. It was fantastic! The other 3 were nothing in comparison."

Cons: "The seats are the most uncomfortable and tight I have ever experienced on an international flight, and we were in exit row seats. For a 15 hour flight, it was miserable."

Pros: "Very Innovative. Love the Premium Economy seats. And unlike many other airlines that do Premium Economy the food is not just economy food. It is far better and as good as anything you get in Business."
Cons: "The seat was not all that comfortable and being at the front of the section meant I couldn't stretch much. The breakfast was OK - nothing special"

Cons: "could not check in online. Traveling with my daughter and we were unable to lock in seats together. Gate agents were able to do this but not proof to arrival at assigned gate."

Cons: "Handling at Melbourne Tullamarine was poor. The plane landed on time but was sent to the wrong dock and that caused a lot of time wastage. This seems to happen in Australian airports more than anywhere else."

Pros: "I fly this route quite often and can't imagine using another airline. Always professional, always comfortable, always fun. Staff, food and entertainment are top notch. I literally trust the pilots with my life. Keep up the good work :)"
Cons: "I left my awesome brand new Nalgene at the terminal in SF. Never to be seen again. Could be worse, I suppose."
