Cons: "Seats are very comfortable! Very nice flight, crew, entertainment screens are large,"
Cons: "See comments above"
Pros: "Airplane was clean, well-stocked with blankets and pillows, good in-flight entertainment. Staff was friendly and the flight was not crowded which made for a more comfortable experience."
Cons: "Limited meal options for someone with food allergies."
Pros: "Great movie selection during the flight. Most of the food was decent."
Cons: "The boarding process was a pain in the butt. Even though my boyfriend and I did a pre- check-in online the day before. We still had to wait over an hour to check our one piece of luggage and wait to be checked in and get the boarding pass. Even though the site says we have the option to print out the boarding pass or show the code on our phone, we still had to deal with all the hassle. The plane was smelly until we were about to take off. The first meal on our way back from Istanbul was awful. The omelette was greasy, overly cheesy and bland. Same goes for the spinach pastry in the same tray. On the flights to Cairo, there was not enough drinks served. I only had one beverage offered to me. I was bypassed when they were serving the coffee/ tea. Also, the timeliness with serving drink was bad... I waited about 4 hours before getting my first beverage on the flight home."
Pros: "The plane was too hot"
Cons: "Plane too hot"
Cons: "They lost my baggage. The in-flight crew and food is excellent, ground support is not good."
Pros: "On the plus side, the food, service, entertainment, and comfort on Turkish are the best of any Economy class overseas flights. For that reason, they are my top pick."
Cons: "I can't understand why I was booked with an impossibly tight connection. It's a huge airport, with multiple security checkpoints with long lines. I had an hour between flights, and the first flight landed just five minutes late. The gate for the second flight had already closed by the time I cleared the first security checkpoint. It would have been completely impossible to make it to the gate on time. Turkish put me up in a hotel, etc., for the night, and there were dozens of people in similar situations. But the airline shouldn't offer connections that are totally impossible."
Cons: "Had a layover in Toronto. From Toronto we flew to Istanbul and then Venice. While waiting in line to board in Toronto, I was told my carry-on luggage was too big and needed to be put under. I asked MULTIPLE times where my luggage would be- either Istanbul or Venice (final destination) and EVERY time I asked, I was told my luggage would be waiting for me in Venice. Once we arrived in Istanbul I asked AGAIN if my carry-on luggage was here or if it would be in Venice and I was told it would be in Venice. Once we arrived in Venice, my luggage was nowhere to be found. The lost luggage crew (and 90% of the people in Venice) were completely rude and acted like we were a huge inconvenience for them. (I've heard that many Europeans cannot stand Americans, but we were not being rude or obnoxious at all to anyone- we just wanted a quiet, romantic vacation.) So safe to say that it was an extremely rough start. We were in Venice for the Glass Art Society Conference in Murano and due to my luggage being lost, had missed the first day and a half, therefore wasting hundreds of dollars. Luckily my boyfriend's phone worked in order to spend our first two days of vacation (not to mention the amount of money spent on international calling costs) tracking down my luggage, but again dealt with completely rude people who barely helped us with any answers and even hung up on us multiple times (and I'd like to add that despite my frustration, I made sure that I was not speaking rudely one bit). The best answers we received were from the people at the Istanbul airport who told us that Venice received my luggage hours before I even called Istanbul- which I do not understand why the Venice airport did not tell me this because I spent all day speaking with them. Once I called back the Venice airport to confirm what the Istanbul airport told us, they said (once again rudely) that they called me on my phone but did not answer (which I already told them that my phone did not have any service and to call my boyfriend's phone number). So to sum up: I will never be flying to Venice ever again."
Cons: "The men’s bathroom near gate 226 smelled awful and the floor was very wet. In addition, I am handicapped and my gate changed from 226 to 208. NO ONE was there to help. There was no one at all at Turkish Care. I asked two different transportation representatives at the sky club and they refused to help in any way. I merely asked them to call Turkish Airlines, and they said they didn’t have the number. I begged both of them to call someone to help me, and they just laughed and said it wasn’t part of their job. I was horrified! I almost missed my plane.!"
Pros: "I had a seat in the front row of the economy section so I had a lot of leg room. They kept the toilets maintained (cleanliness, supplies) throughout the flight."
Cons: "It was a 10hr flight and we were fed only twice... full meals at the top & bottom of the flight. There were no snacks or drink service in-between... a 6hr stretch. I fly a lot internationally and that was quite unusual and unwelcome. They also ran out of food"
Pros: "Excellent service, flight attendants are very kind, answered questions, very caring to seniors and children (couple seniors next to me and a little kid in front of my seat). Good are good and always provide variety of drinking. Smooth and punctuated flight. Thanks for your excellent service!"
Cons: "Nothing I do not like. I will take trips with your airlines in future when having s chance."
Cons: "Bumpy ride"
Pros: "Dessert, food, entertainment."
Cons: "Seats were not too comfortable."
Cons: "It was a struggle to get our hotel from the turkish hotel desk crew. We were travelling from Cape Town to Toronto with a little baby and had a layover of approx 10 hours at Istanbul. They claimed that our layover was 9 hr 40 mins (and not 10 hours) and I had to argue before we finally got a transit hotel. Their customer service is poor."
Pros: "The crew was really polite and the food was amazing, my favorite part was the dessert!"
Cons: "Waiting 2.30 hr after boarding time and never got anything back from Turkish Airlines for wasting my time"
Cons: "long boarding"
Pros: "Helpful crew, good food, comfortable seat."
Pros: "The staff, the comfort, the food, the green tea aroma scents in the restrooms. <3"
Pros: "nothing really special"
Cons: "Food is very Poor Seats are cramped and uncomfortable"
Pros: "Lots of in flight entertainment options. Good meals. Very nice and helpful attendants."
Cons: "departure time changed 3 times"
Cons: "The plane was 2 half hours late departing from JFK to Istanbul and the customer service in Turkish Airline in the beginning did not give me a good service I believe this will be the first time and the last time"
Pros: "I am not blaming the airline at all for these inconveniences."
Cons: "NOTE: THIS IS NOT A CRITIC OF THE AIRLINE Having personally experienced the latest in the consequences of travel related rules mandated by US public officials, I am yet again left wondering if they, and their families, go through these rules that they impose on the general public. Or if they just breeze into their private airport wings and planes. I doubt they take off shoes, belts, and such, or go through irradiated machines. But going through about 3 extra layers of security while transiting is a bit much. Not to mention the extra hours spent relinquishing and reclaiming laptops etc. Frankly, non of these acts makes anything safer. It is akin to the permanently parked police vehicle on the Brooklyn Bridge in NYC since 9-11. What is that supposed to deter?"
Pros: "The lay down seats."
Cons: "Wish they came through the cabin with more beverage services. Twice I had to go back to the galley to get a drink."
Pros: "Once you got past checkin the flight was fine"
Cons: "The checkin process was horrendous, people waiting for 40-45 minutes even though they were at the front of the line. Repeatedly we saw customers from other lines or no line at all being brought in to take our spots and checkin first with no explanation."
Cons: "My flight was cancelled without any notification and a choice to reschedule."
Pros: "The flight attendants were incredibly kind and attentive"
Cons: "Bathrooms were a mess. Badly need more cleaning throughout flight"
Pros: "Service was amazing"
Pros: "It was a fine flight"
Cons: "Just in Istanbul the we got screened completely again at the termanal then at LAX CBP thought it would be good to hold us at the tarmac for almost an hour while they hunted and detained a kid"
Pros: "Amazing service and comfortable environment. The really take care of you"
Cons: "Boarding Process could be a little streamlined. Guess we are used to the regulated process."
Pros: "Cabin/ground crew was professional, nice."
Pros: "The overall experience was good but small gestures by crew can improve the same significantly."
Cons: "Crew slow to respond or non responsive even for a glass of water."
Pros: "The food was good, the crew was very professional and friendly."
Cons: "The seats are too crammed and there's barely any room in the economy class."
Pros: "The food was amazing."
Cons: "The inflight entertainment didn't work on one of my flights."
Cons: "Poor Business class Entertainment system didn't work Seats didn't recline Boarding was terrible Staff at Istanbul airport very bad Organisation terrible support very bad"
Cons: "My flight was supposed to leave at 3 am. Not was delayed till 4:30. I had only 25 minutes to catch the other flight. I made it last minute. I asked the Turkish airline representative at the gate if my bag is on the plane. He said "yes". When I arrived to London I couldn't fibd my bag. I spent more than an hour looking for it since the employee assured me it was loaded to the plane, the person who was waiting to pick me yo had to pay around 15£ parking and wait for one hour and a half. I arrived without luggage. I have everything in the bag, my umbrella, jacket, cloths, pajamas, underwater, everything... the allowance that Turkish Airlibe said they will give allowed me to only buy a Pajama. I am totally NOT satisfied. I will not travel on this Airlibe again"
Pros: "Every thing"
Cons: "The seat was hard for a long trip"
Pros: "When it ended"
Cons: "After leaving late for our four flight, we circled the Doha airport for an hour and then diverted to Bahrain. The crew was unhelpful, hiding in back, commanding everyone to sit down, despite us waiting on the Tarmac for two hours. Water and snacks were hard to come by and everyone was unhappy. Tensions were high and the crew was not around to assuage the masses. Very unhelpful. The 4 hour flight became a 9 and a half hour flight. It, for lack of a better term, sucked"
Pros: "Entertainment channels were good. No leg room. Food was really bad. Okay 5.2"
Cons: "A nine+ hour delay with very little assistance from the staff to even understand what was happening, let alone fix things. Everybody was missing connections - but we were continually lied to with "you connections will be fine". They were not, resulting in an expensive overnight in Istanbul."
