The lady that helped us was not willing to include any more items than 1 small suitcase that weighed only 11 kg, but we had paid for 23 kg. When we wanted to board the airplane we were told we could only take 7 kg each. Which caused problems and stress that we couldn't use after a 40-hour flight from Europe. We discussed this with the lady at the counter which wasn't really helpful to start with, but eventually, she let us board the plane anyway after we had to explain our situation a few times, and after she asked us to weigh our extra items, which of course we're more than 7 kg. We were pleased that at least she let us board our plane in the end. Hopefully next time we won't encounter the same problems."

Malaysian airlines stayed in the runway, fixing an engine and the pilot said they were delaying the plane, driving in for passengers to disembark. After being told by cabin crew that a number of us were late for connecting flight, that they were going to wait for us, they didn’t and we were told we had missed the flight. We were kindly put on the next flight which wasn’t until five hours later. Unrealistic scheduling causes is to miss our flight and had us sitting at the airport for four hours, making it an unnecessarily long day. Not impressed."

Cons: "I booked through Budget Air and was initially online able to confirm seats and meals for my husband and I online with Qantas easily. Months out my flight was cancelled and I was rebooked onto a later flight that would have made us miss all of our transfers to our honeymoon on Fitzroy Island. Because I had booked through 'a 3rd party' Qantas refused to assist me. I managed to convince budget air to change our flights. We were moved to a jetstar flight from Melbourne to cairns. I had to confirm that this had occurred and go through multiple people online to reallocate seats and food options for my husband and myself again. Only my luggage allowance was carried across to jetstar and neither of our meal allowances were. When it came to online check-in with jetstar I could not check my husband in online only myself. I spoke to multiple people online who all confirmed they didn't know why or there was no problem and we should just present ID and check in in person. When we got to the airport Qantas had not transferred the e-ticket code across for my husband's booking and this is why we could not check him in online. The jetstar staff had to try to get his original booking code from Qantas. As it turned out I had to original booking code through budget Air in my hand and had to assert this information to staff. Flying back we were able to check in online fine with Qantas. Our boarding passes printed different sizes but did not present a problem when we dropped off our luggage. When we sent to check in the staff member couldn't get the smaller pass to read and my husband had to assert that he also had it on his phone. Despite all of my online conversations the aisle seat was allocated to me and not my husband who required it because of a medical condition and the flight was 30min delayed. We won't be traveling with Qantas or jetstar, or booking through budget Air again."

Had to wait on plane while airbridge was brought to the plane so everyone could disembark - “they weren’t expecting the flight!!” Whole flight still waiting for luggage after 55 minutes of standing at carousel and only after 55 minutes an announcement to say handlers are tending to a departure and we have to wait another 10 minutes - a whole hour for luggage - take carry on only next time!!!! 4 flights collecting luggage from the one carousel!!"

First time I've ever seen this on a plane. Ok, so Qantas got us there safely but the inflight movies its what makes it bearable."

While booking the tickets mine and my wife’s full details such as the Name, Nationality and Passport were given. In spite of this nowhere was it mentioned in the Quantas terms and conditions or any prompt/popup given while booking the tickets that Australian transit visa is required for Indians since the flight is via Australian city. I had booked the tickets well in advance and had enough time to get transit visa had there been any information about it mentioned. On 1st December 2016 when we went to the Changi airport we were not allowed to board the plane as we did not have the Australian transit visa. We were told by Quantas personnel at the airport to go to the Australian embassy in Singapore to get the transit visa and that we would get it within a day. Next day we went to the embassy and found that the Australian visa is done by VFS global at a different address. When went there they informed us that Australian visa takes minimum 5 days. I had all my hotel bookings in New Zealand already done hence I had no choice to take a direct Singapore Auckland flight via Singapore Airlines at a very high price on the next day. I also lost one day of my hotel booking in Auckland and had to forfeit the money. I and my wife had to go through the psychological trauma of being refused to board the plane, then the next day running around the Australian embassy / VFS global office for trying to get the Australian transit visa and facing the uncertainty regarding our new Zealand trip which was planned well in advance for our 25th wedding anniversary"

I’m a short guy and I found my feet hanging over this bar which was uncomfortable. Also the pitch of the seat and short seat made both my partner and I slide down the seat. Perhaps the seats Jet star selects for its business could have calf rests that are located higher up so our legs are elevated more like in a chaise lounge or hammock for don’t slide down. The absolute worst thing about Jetstar flights are the passengers. The lowest common denominator Australians book budget airlines (especially Jetstar) and they rush the gate, over pack their 7kg of carryon, they are rough and loud and have little control of their children. They don’t know the difference beteeen inside and outside voices and speaking to someone face to face instead of shouting from a distance. Perhaps Jetstar should have a flying etiquette email and in seat card to remind people of how to behave. One braided head wench was berating the poor guy checking tickets at the gate who asked her to finish her water as a condition of EVERY AIRLINE and AIRPORT. He didn’t deserve her uneducated rudeness."

Cons: "Jetstar is cheap and terrible. We were charged $160 dollars to check small, carry-on sized bags we had expected to take on board with us. This is 4 times the price on their website; that price is no longer available once you're at check-in. The service was slow and inefficient. Even after checking in online we still had to wait in line to check in at the counter. This took ages since at least 5 or 6 other people were having issues with Jetstar, like us. The flight itself was cramped (I'm a shorter woman and had almost no leg room) and there were no complimentary drinks or snacks for our 4 hour flight. We opted for Jetstar because it's the cheapest option, but ended up having to pay more than we would have for a much nicer flight with another airline."

Cons: "they charged $150 to check in a bag over 7 kg (15 lbs). the size of the bag was fine (20"), and if you fill such a bag with regular clothes, two pairs of shoes, and a toothbrush, you will easily hit 9-10 kg. so this airline expects you to travel with a 20" bag that is only partially filled, which is ridiculous."

You get nothing for your money EVERYTHING is EXTRA cost and expensive. From baggage to basic snacks, if you are silly enough to buy. Not even a radio outlet. Seats are hard and uncomfortable, but the "icing on the cake", is the removal of the pockets behind the seats to make the leg room look more, so you now have nowhere to put a water bottle or a drink down. JETSTAR/QANTAS should be very (proud) ashamed of themselves. By the way has anyone noticed the prospective destruction of the iconic Kangaroo symbol on QANTAS planes known all over the world as AUSTRALIAN, that the Irish CEO of Qantas is happily removing at enormous cost, over the next months to be replaced by an indescribable symbol, that is so similar to CHINA AIRLINES, it is not funny. Takeover in the wind?No wonder QANTAS is so expensive and its cheaper arm JETSTAR are cut to the bone. Staff can only do so much."

Also, I don't like the in-flight gambling ("raffle") option. Jetstar hands out scratchie tickets for $5.00 a pop. The odds of winning (the car) are ludicrous and gambling is a serious problem in Victoria. So, I don't think it is appropriate. The in-flight food was absurdly expensive. Finally - and, perhaps, most importantly - the flight wasn't smooth. It didn't appear to be due to turbulence, but (rather) the pilot / s. The plane kept dipping up and down, making us feel sick."

Cons: "The cost of my baggage was triple the cost of my flight. The assistants at the desk and gate were rude. I don't fly internationally often and I was anxious, they did not have time or interest in helping me. I could've been on a United flight with my parter 10 hours earlier for the same cost, had I known I would actually pay far more than the cost upfront. I will not be flying Jetstar again."

Cons: "A text advised we had a 16 hour delay. A follow email was to come but never received. Jetstar offered to pay for a nights accommodation at $150 AUD. In Hawaii, you cannot get a room for this amount. I have placed a claim for Accommodation and meals, be interesting to see what they do. The Entertainment is poor. About 8 movies, so if you have seen most of them, and you watch 2 going over to Hawaii, then the same movies are still there, and you are left with none to watch. How about a bigger selection?"
