Pros:The rep for thrifty at the pick up was helpful and quick. She also cared to make sure she gave us the best experience.Cons:On the website it said we would be getting a certain car but that was not the caseReviewed 30 May 2018

Would have been better if they had more carsPros:Price was greatCons:When we got there, they had no cars available! We had to wait an hour, then settle for a downgraded car. We spent a lot of money to change our flights and get in early for an event only to have thrifty cost us an hour from that event. Very disappointing.Reviewed 31 Mar 2017

No Cars On the LotPros:Absolutely nothing!Cons:Everything! Pulled up to the Lot and saw no cars. Thought maybe they were in another section as the area was receiving construction. Door opened by a friendly customer representative who proceeded to take my information, check my reservation, tell me everything was a go, but then said we don't have any SUVs which is what was reserved. Lady told me I could wait to see if someone would drop off one but she didn't know how long of a wait it could be. I had somewhere to be so I asked about other available options. Several car options were noted but none sounded familiar so I asked to see the cars. Was walked outside with the representative for her to say o we don't have any cars. No Cars? But I made a reservation! She noted the night before customers requested to extend their reservations. Ummmmm so what am I supposed to do? Well you can wait. No ma'am. How does a car lot have no cars, but taking reservations? I will never use them again! I ended up across the street at Hertz who had exactly what I needed, at a cheaper rate and they had me in and out within a matter of minutes!Reviewed 7 Nov 2017

couldve been worsePros:Not muchCons:I reserved a full size car and was offered my pick between a corolla or Altima, which are both compact cars. The interior smelled of smoke, the windshield was filthy with an oily residue and I had to clean it before driving. I'm unhappy with rental car agencies. After being on a crappy plane the last thing I need is a poor rental car for my trip.Reviewed 25 Oct 2016

We were tricked...Cons:We made a reservation online which was supposed to amount to U$300. When we arrived to Houston, the girl at the counter first proposed us a rental for $750! When we protested and showed her the reservation she made "as many adjustments as she could" until she brought it down to U$522. Still almost double of the original reservation price. We took it to sadly realize the GPS didn't work. We had to call the support number the first day and go through a process to reset the appareil. The second day we called, we had to file a telephonic complaint with a reference number and everything and, since we couldn't find our way around Houston she recommended to change the car (which had the GPS attached, it wasn't portable). So we had to loose yet another day from our vacations to go back to the airport to change the car. When we arrived, the manager said that since there was no mechanical failure (as if not having a GPS in Houston wasn't enough of a nuisance), he could only give us a U$50 discount. We protested and so he gave us a U$100 discount. Then he asked us if we had willingly accepted all of the additional charges. We responded that the girl had originally told us that the prize was the "minimum possible", so he informed us that all additional charges were optional!!! Then he made a just adjustment ant brought the price down to the original $300!!! SO YOU TRICKED US ALL THE TIME. We paid the original prize but could only use the car for three of the original six days planned because of the GPS problem. And we still had to pay for six days. It's the worst client service EVER!!! It shouldn't be called Thrifty, IT SHOULD BE CALLED TRICKSY!!! Will never rent with you again, will try to tell everyone and THANK YOU FOR RUINING OUR VACATION! Please don't send any compensation, promotions or offers. We don't ever want to hear from you again, we already lost too much time with you, worth like three lifetimes... Please just go broke... Worst regards,Reviewed 12 Apr 2016

Rude customer servicePros:Glad you ask for the survey. The person who checked me in was very rude. He was trying to sale me insurance and Easy Pass with untrue information unfriendly manner, angry and rudeness. A very disappointment experience. I wouldn't think twice before I rent or recommend friends to that Thrifty again.Cons:Friendlier staffs at the gate and the lot.Reviewed 5 Apr 2017

Cons:The car was really beat up. Scratches and dents are one thing, but a bent hubcap that is almost falling off should not be acceptable. The wait to pick up the car was long, but the customer service person was worse. She obviously did not want to be there and she whispered everything she said. It was almost a game for her.Reviewed 14 Apr 2017

Thrifty at IAH was terribleCons:The vehicle was vacuumed, but you could see dust all over the dash. I picked the car up at night, so I couldn't originally see it until the next day. Also, the rep at the desk was extremely rude and unhelpful. I accidentally scheduled my pick up for the day following the actual day I needed it, and the guy at the desk wanted to charge me more than double the total price to just pick up a day early. The car was also falling apart on the bumper with no external damage. Very poor. Will not rent from Thrifty again.Reviewed 29 Mar 2017
