Pros: I would recommend this hotel for both business and leisure.
18m indoor pool and gym were good.
Baby sitting service outsourced was fantastic, our sitter was a preschool teacher.
The Concierge service was second to none and nothing was ever a problem, even though we called them 15 times on the first evening.
Located right on the Bund (my room didn't have a Bund view) and was a 50m walk to the waters edge, and on one of the biggest shopping streets in China (East Nanjing Road).
Excellent
8.3
Pros: The location is great but most rooms have no views. The products provided is top of the line and the jazz bar, though did not play jazz when we were there, is a nice old time Shanghai fair.

Cons: The facility is older even after the renovation. The switches are so over-used that one is hard to read what the switch is for. The shower room insulation is old so that water leaks to the toilet area whenver the shower is used.

Pros: I stay in Four Season due to my apartment renovation. Choosing it coz it's close to my office. The location is the only reason why I choose Four Season this time.
Cons: The concierge service was HORRIBLE. I tried to call them for sth, and they are consistently not picking up my call for the first 2 days. And when I order food delivery, I told concierge to send it upstairs for me regardless of their ridiculous 20 mins waiting time. (As I was engaged with my work). But they never delivered it to my room and claim that I told the concierge I would pick up myself. When I complain, the staff is also very rude and keep arguing that I said I will pick up myself. When I complain to the concierge abt the missing calls they have from me, they told me that they have never received any calls from me according to the record. Which is absurd as if I'm losing my mind or haunted or sth. Terrible concierge service.

Pros: I really enjoyed my stay at the hotel - the room was clean, nicely decorated and the bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was good with a nice selection of international and Chinese options. Most exceptional was the staff, everyone was really friendly, helpful and considerate.
Cons:
6.0 Good
Pros:
Cons: I don't understand how a five star hotel on breakfast service picks up the food as soon as the time is up. It was the customers trying to help themselves and the kitchen staff pulling out the food. This behavior in a five star hotel service is inadmissible

Pros: The high standards on service. The staff really mean well.
Cons: Everything was fine.
8.2 Excellent
Pros: This facility offers very comfortable beds and an excellent morning breakfast buffet. It's my go-to hotel when I am in Shanghai on business.
Cons: My room had a clear space for an iron, but it was missing. The hair dryer was cracked and broken, though it still operated. The shower door did not close well, and after every usage, there would be a significant puddle of water on the floor outside the shower (or a fully soaked towel).

Pros: Great location, and for a Chinese run hotel very nice.
Cons: The breakfast buffet is slim and too expensive if not included in the price.

Pros:
Cons: It's my first time that I need to booking my visit to sauna and spa. At hotel they write sauna operate to 12p.m. ,but I visit at 11p.m. and it didn't working. At lobby tell me I need to book it. I NEED to BOOK the Sauna. I haven't time to book it and visit early.

Pros: Great location!
Cons: Food was super overpriced. $8 cup of coffee.
7.0 Good
Pros: Clean. Spacious. Great location. Staff generally helpful.
Cons: Front door person has sort of deal with a fake taxi cab ( that is, car is like a taxi, with meter but no license number to taxi company hot line number displayed). We ended up got rip off by this for roughly $10 - not a lot of money but very distasteful.

Pros: Please Google "Shanghai Scam" if you are visiting.
Location of hotel was good. It's one block from a major pedestrian shopping mall and you can easily walk to the river or to the square. The hotel room we got was a king and was really nice. It had a huge room and the bathroom was really nice also.
Cons: The A/C in our room didn't work. We notified reception and they sent an engineer to fix it and it worked for 36 or so hours after that and then blew warm air again. The reception staff said all the rooms A/C are bad and there was no point in moving us to another room. She said it's because the A/C units are old and the outside air is too warm to cool.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: I needed a very big favour to store frozen product in their freezers. This is not a normal request but they were really good about helping me. My wife was also unwell during the stay and they helped her feel very comfortable. I couldn't be more grateful.

Love the pillows and sheets with the Dove chocolate minis on turndown!
Cons: I had always loved the hotel's lobby and the bedroom/bathroom so on this return trip, I decided to stay with Grand Central Hotel again. The only drawback this time was the hotel was already on winter "mode" so they did not turn on the airconditioning, including in the rooms, thus we had to request for an air cooler and open the windows for cool air to enter the room. Otherwise, it will be warm when the centralized AC unit is switched on because the heater is activated. However, this is a +++ for environmental conservation.

Cons: scrambled eggs were cold
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Nice suite, beautiful hotel, good location
Cons: Very uncomfortable seating in living area of suite. Or lightning for reading. Not very close to the Bund. Name of hotel with Bund in it implies a closer location to Bund than the five blocks away.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: A good range of foods and drinks on offer for all tastes, cultures, and creatures of habit. A good number of waiting staff always willing to help
Cons: Silly situations where the right cutlery was not always available and time lost looking for it. On occasions when leaving a table to revisit the buffet the table would be cleared and someone else put into one's original place. It's OK if you take a bag with you to breakfast, but not everyone does.
7.3 Good
Pros: Room situation was excellent.
Cons: Facilities- mediocre at best. The gym was fine but the pool was abysmal.
Service- I get that the service in China is bad, I get it. But come on, train your service better. I couldn't get a taxi for half an hour, and the guy outside was trying to get a taxi for me. If they were smart, they would have called a taxi through phone.

Cons: There was a problem with the check-in and the staff was quite slow to solve it. I asked for my gf to check in before my arrival. They told me no problem on the phone. Then they refused when she got there. For a long time there was a problem with the hot water and cold water . Complementary water tastes like tap water.

Pros: good location
Cons: not possible to exchange the local money in the counter, only thru the machine. However, the machine was out of order more than 3 days! So, we have to exchange the foreign CCY at other hotel!!! The bath gel was not checked by the housekeeping everyday, so there is not new replacement of bath gel. The guests have to call to ask!!! The shower device was not in good condition, it's been broken, the water came out not in the right way!!! It's really not 5 star Marriott level.

Pros: It is a good hotel.
Cons: It was a shame because a taxi driver tried to rob us and nobody from the reception desk tried to help us, and we felt alone since the pirate taxi driver was inside in the lobby like a regular guest while screaming us. While he receptionist(Sun da) only said that he could not do anything. He never tried to help us, and he washed his hands All the receptionists know that the guests who travel to Shanghai have problems with taxi drivers because they try to deceive them, this case we had to pay two times to the taxi driver because he deceived us and nobody helped us. We never do a booking in any hotel of the Jin Jiang chain again.

Pros: The room was very large, included living area, large desk, full bathroom with shower and bathtub and a separate wc. All spot clean. Not super-modern, but quite well kept
Cons: Staff attitude could have been better, nothing serious to complain about but just a smile helps
7.5 Good
Pros: Good location for going out at Found 158
Cons: It is a little dated - quite expensive for what you are getting!
7.0 Good
Pros: Breakfast is good. We are satisfied! Location is great!
Cons: Please open windows in all rooms at least once per day. The air inside the room is from last century! Your rooms looks old and need to be refreshed so the price could be acceptable. Or do not refresh your rooms but give your customers better price.

Pros: Staff was responsive and tries to help.
Cons: It appears that more female staff are recently hired, which is great. More materials need to be provided to them to help them know what tourists generally ask about.
One thing I noticed about mainland Chinese is that that they do not give details but only a generalized answers. The more experienced staff are okay. But the newer staff should be told to be more specific because world travelers are not stupid. The details are what tourists want.
Also, give the young female staff encouragements rather than criticisms. And have the experienced staff, who seems to be mostly males, to give the female staff a chance to help tourists - so don't take over but assist on the side.

Pros: great location
Cons: I tried to change my stay at the hotel online a few weeks in advance from two nights to one as my plans had changws but it wouldn’t let me and said that I would have to cancel the whole booking to be able to do that, which I didn’t want to do as I did not want to lose the one night when I did want to stay. When I arrived at the hotel they still wouldn’t let me change it and that I should have done it online even though I explained that it would not let me change it online, so I still had to pay for two nights. Very frustrating.

Pros: It was cleanish
Cons: In true Chinese Hotel style the staff were disinterested and ubhelpful. Even as a Mandarin speaker they were impolite. The pool and gym? This hotel does not have either of these things. They direct you to another hotel 1/2 a kilometer away to use their pool and gym. I wish I was joking.

Pros: It is nearby the metro station, center is good reachable. A lot of food possibilities around the hotel.
Cons: We stayed two times. At first time the room was ok, but really old. The sofa was dirty. The bathroom was clean. Second time we got a horrible, extremely old uncleaned room! In the bathroom the towels were blurry! The stuff said the room is cleaned, but they are going to give another room. The other room.was still not perfect clean, but ok. Wifi is extremely bad, not really working .

Pros: The location is good is close to 2 metro stations. Excellent at Concierge
Cons: Basic breakfast, almost minimal, poor in fruits, having so many in China, only banana every day, poor quality synthetic orange juice, little variety of food, regular room cleaning, never dusted the desk, uncomfortable bed, no There is a TV guide, only soap and shampoo in the bathroom, 4 * hotels in China, minimum they give you a toilet kit with brush, toothpaste, razor, comb, bathing cap, dressing gown and slippers. Zero response to messages sent prior to arrival, poor customer service, zero manager empathy in the face of some passenger inconvenience. The worst hotel I've stayed in in China, knowing several in several cities. It has never been a 4 * hotel, hopefully a 3 *. I DON'T RECOMMEND IT.

Pros: The location is very close by to the metro station.
Cons: The reception staff does not speak proper English. Had a tough time checking out early in the morning as the staff present could not communicate in English. They charged my credit card a rounded of amount at checkin as deposit. I paid off the exact amount through another credit card but the concerned staff did not return my deposit card slip which was signed. Hope they do not charge me twice
