Pros: Wanda Reign on the Bund is a really great choice with probably the best possible location in Shanghai! The hotel is right at the Bund and just a few minutes walk away from the old town, Shanghai Old Street, Yu-Garden and other places you might want to visit. Everyone is trying hard to make your stay there as nice as possible. Special thanks to Dan Xu, Assistant director of room, he was extremely helpful and organised at our arrival lots of things to make our stay a real special one. We had nice room facing the river and loved the room, the service, the breakfast and all facilities that the lovely hotel offers. A special highlight is for sure the wonderful rooftop bar. Inside and outside you have amazing views as well as great service and a place you simply don't want to leave again. Food was also really nice at the rooftop bar. Last but not least my daughter ( 12 ) really enjoyed the massage chair with the fantastic view over the river in our room and the nice present she was given to when we left. Thanks for making our stay an unforgettable one!

Cons: The iPad, which was essential for providing easy in room services and smart home controls, didn't work during our stay and because we were always back late we weren't able to get an IT person to come help with the iPad's network issues.

Cons: Everyday I used shower cap and put it on my make up box. Hotel staff throw my shower cap but didn’t fill the new one. The room temperature is rather hot. I adjusted a few times but took time about 3 hours every night before I could go to bed.

Pros: I like the location of the hotel, it‘s located close to a mall and a Starbucks can be found right next to the hotel. As the hotel is in Pudong, it's a little bit further away from the center of Shanghai.
Cons: The room didn’t have a window and also the facilities weren't in a good condition. The water in the skin didn't go down and the air way not fresh. In general you could hear everything in the hotel as the walls are very thin.

Cons: Staff doesn't speak English. This is a small complaint since it is China after all. Also, this hotel no longer takes foreigners. This was in very small print on the booking and we didn't notice until we got there. We had a native speaker help us check in. We aren't sure how the exchange went, but the hotel allowed us to stay at the same rate and didn't seem too upset so it was ultimately all good. I wouldn't expect everyone to have this outcome so buyer be more aware than me.

Cons: The bedroom smelt like cigarette, everything is made with the cheapest quality. The hotel is dirty. Nobody speaks english. I am really disappointed. I even found a condom!

Cons: Some parts of the room had been worn down, and I could tell that a lot of cigarettes had been smoked in the room (burn marks in hard quasi-carpet flooring). No windows in my room made it feel dark and a bit claustrophobic.

Pros: We paid with points since my parents foolishly got a timeshare they never use, which they somehow converted into IHG shares, and so no money charge; otherwise would have stayed elsewhere.
They upgraded us (3 people) to each have our own bed, and to a large suite for free because my dad is a gold member (at first they tried to sell it to us for 600RMB a night but I called their bullshit and they gave it for free. That much per night in Shanghai is highway robbery for a hotel room alone). So not bad.

Cons: It does not feel like 5 star hotel especially the lobby. Was actually quite disappointed as it does not reflect how InterContinental Hotel should look like. Stayed in a non smoking room & reception staff reminded us that we are not allowed to smoke in the room only to be given a room smelling of cigarette smoke! However, staff was quick to rectify the situation by changing our room immediately. Rooms are well furnished but lacked of a coffee making machine as most 5 stars hotel would already have one in place nowadays. Had problems with our room lock but staff was quick to rectify problem & had it checked the next day we left the room. They followed up with a letter to assure us lock was checked and no problems were detected. Didn't really like the location.

Cons: Didn't have time to explore the facilities. On the 1st floor bar, there is a corner with 8 big wings chairs. We had a meeting debrief there on the Friday night at almost midnight. Then my eyes wondered on the pictures on the 3 walls, there are all old ancient human photos which I think is spooky. Why couldn't they hanged nice Shanghai city or building photos .. instead of all those old spooky photographs.

Cons: This hotel is under decorating without any notice online, nothing shows on the official website or other booking websites. It is incredible noise from 9am till 6 pm! Incredible noisy Also this hotels is really old, everything is old and poor. The whole room is under really bad smell, I tried to switch different rooms and it didn’t work at all. Intercontinental is always one of my first choices, especially the one at Beijing SanLiTun, but this one, destroyed my trust with this hotel brand. Never ever come back to this intercontinental hotel again!

Cons: Pudong is the most boring part of Shanghai and since Century Ave is so large it takes a while to get to the metro regardless, nothing interesting in walking distance. Stay in the French’s Concession in a chic AirBnB or something, it’s far more charming and likely significantly cheaper. Hotels like this are for chumps.

Cons: 80% of the time the staff at help desk didn’t speak english. At breakfast , Rough Eggs where cooled in an ice bowl that turns to water. I got a terrible diarrhea 1 hour after having an omelette. I told the F&b manager that this can cause salmonella, but he didn’t do anything about it in the next following 4 days . Eggs exterior is infected ( always ) putting eggs In water can cause diffusion of microbes into the egg ! I mentioned this to the front desk duty manager as well but nothing was done about it !!!

Cons: Bathroom. There were gaps in the blinds, so we switched off the lights every time we took a bath to make sure that nobody could see us from the windows. Weighing scale was not working so we had to request for a new one. Toilet could use a bigger waste can.

When we had a piece of luggage break, all went out of their way to see that it is fixed on time for our flight. The breakfast was one of the best on our China trip. The gym is open 24/7 - a great bonus.

Cons: No toothbrushes. This was very disappointing. I know that every Ibis hotel provides their guests with toothbrushes but, well, this one does not. Even though the website states that it does. There was no coffee either, only two teabags that were not refurnished on the next day. No sugar nor spoons. I don't know if I'm exaggerating, im just comparing this hotel with the other Ibis hotels where I stayed in the past.

Cons: Some of the reception shift staff weren’t helpful and the beds in the room weren’t comfortable at all. I had a room without a window and regret it, so would recommend paying more for some natural light. Oh, and I can’t forget, the cleaners are quite loud in the morning so invest in some ear plugs (you’ll need these wherever you stay!)

The hotel is located just above the Yu Garden subway station and could not be more convenient for getting around the city.
The hotel is clean and modern. The staff was wonderful. The executive lounge had great food and a terrific view. Our room was large and comfortable.
All in all this is my favorite hotel in Shanghai.

Cons: It appears that more female staff are recently hired, which is great. More materials need to be provided to them to help them know what tourists generally ask about.
One thing I noticed about mainland Chinese is that that they do not give details but only a generalized answers. The more experienced staff are okay. But the newer staff should be told to be more specific because world travelers are not stupid. The details are what tourists want.
Also, give the young female staff encouragements rather than criticisms. And have the experienced staff, who seems to be mostly males, to give the female staff a chance to help tourists - so don't take over but assist on the side.

Cons: Major negative was complete lack of fluent English speakers. Most could speak some English, but often sounded like they'd learned from a book or from a teacher who wasn't native English speaker. Even concierge had trouble understanding quite simple questions like "how long does it take to get to ...." or "how do you get to ..." I appreciate that I'm in a foreign country, but I would expect a much higher level of English fluency at the front desk of an international hotel such as a Marriott.

The hotel is very spread out, and it took 5-6 minutes to walk from reception to my room in the annex. The room was dated and facilities not reliable. A number of power sockets didn't work or worked intermittently. Breakfast was average. There were not many vegetarian options available. Restaurant staff disinterested.

Pros: With Holiday Inn you know what you basically getting. The hotel was in a relatively quiet location, but within easy reach of the exhibition centre. Breakfast was very good and with a lot of choices I also had a filet steak in the general restaurant / breakfast cafe area with a white wine. The steak and the wine were both good. Cons: Flagged Taxi refused ride to hotel location front LongYang Maglev station. May be too near. From hotel, due to traffic direction restrictions, taxi can only drop at metro station, need to drag luggage about 800meters to Maglev station entry, which is not marked clearly. Metro is accessible , but path to metro are hard for luggage (even those with 4 wheels). Therefore, need to factor in more time to get to and from PVG.

Pros: With Holiday Inn you know what you basically getting. The hotel was in a relatively quiet location, but within easy reach of the exhibition centre. Breakfast was very good and with a lot of choices I also had a filet steak in the general restaurant / breakfast cafe area with a white wine. The steak and the wine were both good. The staff were helpful and pleasant.
Cons: I don’t know why but the TV controller didn’t work, even though the batteries worked. The room was generally very clean, but I must admit the carpet seemed to have a lot of stains on it and could have done with a clean
Our hotel is located in Huan Long Road and Pu Jian Road. It is among Lujiazui Software Park. Pudong Lujiazui Area and New International Expo Center are both 10 minutes’ drive from hotel. It is within about eight minutes’ walk to Lan Cun Road metro station. Disneyland Park is about 35 minutes’ drive from hotel. The Oriental Pearl TV Tower, the World Expo and Exhibition Center and the Oceanarium are all close to our hotel.

Pros: The beds were the most uncomfortable I have ever slept in. I travel frequently and have never experienced body pain from sleeping in a hotel the next day. It was like sleeping on the ground. (which was actually more comfortable than the beds themselves).

Cons: It is very inconvenient. No nearby eatery. Walk to Shanghai Old Street about 8mins walk, Yu Garden at at least 15mins, The Bund 35mins. Metro too far and nearest is Yu Garden which is 20 to 25mins walk. This is the WORST Hotel I ever stayed. The aircon was centralised. Outside weather was 22 degree and yet no aircon in the room. Called the front desk and was told its controlled by central aircon and becos its 22 degree outside, the hotel will switch off the main aircon. And guess what, the room aircon was 33 degree. Asked for a fan and was told there is no fan in the hotel and was told to open the window. How can the hotel determine the temperature of each guest?? This is ridiculous!!!!

The hostel has a water dispenser with hot water so you can make yourself tea or coffee (but you have to have your own tea/coffee). The lower bunk beds have curtains so it gives privacy (while booking I specifically asked to have the bed with the curtain). Every bed has a night lamp and universal outlet (European plugs work too). The shower was quite big, with enough shelves and hangers to comfortably take a shower without any of your clothes getting wet.

Pros: This hotel was possibly a prominent hotel in its day - 1980. It is in dire need of renovation and modernising. It needs English speaking office staff. Overall, it served the purpose, at inflated tariffs for the quality, and general standard of the premises. Never again. Ray C Peebles.

Cons: The missing paint on the skirting boards, and other areas - including furniture. An "excuse" for a breakfast facility, and that lack of assistance from staff due to the language barrier. A very much antiquated lift, with old packing cases to "protect" the floor. (More like hiding the floor). Shower was over an old bath, and entry was difficult for the aged.

Cons: Room was tiny, not that clean, rather run down, missing knobs on dresser, tiny room, interesting smell, dingy carpets. Was a fine stay but was listed as a 4 star which it definitely was not

Cons: No English signage so had a hatd time locating the hotel. The staff were so busy on their cellphones that no one could show me how to use the television or room safe. Poor customer service with no information on where to eat or what to do. But the guests seem to be mostly Chinese so the service problem is for foreigners.

Cons: The bathroom was not that nice. All the tapware looked old and a bit shabby. The fugues were also old and yellowed. Free Wi-Fi only in the lobby. I would say it is a 3 star + and not a 4 star hotel.
